Basic info: Rook, she/her
Current Writing Status: Quarantined with way too much time to write on my hands. Whether or not that time will be made use of remains to be seen.
Fandoms: My main fandom is most definitely Batman, and maybe just DC comics in general (sorry Marvel). Criminal Minds has also become a huge interest for me, as has Lord of the Rings. Very different, I know. I read LOTR for the first time when I was eleven but recently fell in love with Tolkien's world and characters all over again. I'm also a fan of Voltron Legendary Defender, Transformers Prime, TMNT and I used to be majorly obsessed with Ben 10. (See my name? Rook Blonko still rules!)
Batman: I have been a huge fan of Jason Todd ever since I watched the animated movie, Batman: Under the Red Hood. My obsession with all things Jason Todd was intensified after reading A Death in the Family, which I swear broke my heart.
Jason, and the moral dilemmas of the character, will never cease to fascinate me. Thus, a lot of my stories will have Jason as the focal point.
I also love the character of Barbara Gordon. I always thought she was incredibly strong... especially after the crap she went through in The Killing Joke. If ever I considered a fictional character worthy of naming my child after them, it would be Barbara Gordon. No, seriously.
That being said, I must confess that I am completely and utterly in love with the Babs/Dick pairing too. I will go down with this ship! ;)
Other Accounts: I do have an account over on Archive of Our Own under the same name. I cross-post some of my stories, but that account is now mainly used for content in the Shazam! fandom.
Brief Bio: I’m pro-life and a Christian. More specifically, I’m Roman Catholic. I love wildlife- any kind of wildlife basically. I have/had an obsession with fish, brought on by the Animal Planet show River Monsters, and I spent some time toying around with the idea of going into ichthyology. Currently, I volunteer at the aquarium near my house, where I'm learning the basics of animal care in the fish and invertebrates department, and I have to say I love it. I've learned so much already and yet it feels like I've only chipped the tip the iceberg. Fish are incredibly fascinating! I also have a passion for art, and spend maybe too much time drawing my favorite characters.
What I write: A lot of my stories tend to be focused on the familial relationships of my favorite characters, and most of my work will be for the Batman fandom (with Legends of Tomorrow here and there), though I’m slowly starting to branch out into the Criminal Minds fandom. I may even try my hand in the SeaQuest category. The genres I write vary, though I’m most at home writing angst and hurt/comfort. To me, that opens up the best opportunities for exploring the relationships and bonds between characters.
Very rarely do I write romance (though, as said above, I’ve fallen completely in love with Dick Grayson/Barbara Gordon as a couple, so they’ve been showing up in a few of my stories and there will likely be a few works dedicated solely to them coming in the future.).
Edit 7/24/19: While parental/brotherly fics are still my favorite thing in the world, Dick/Babs has been becoming more and more prominent in my writing. If there's a story that features the two of them, they will likely be with each other. You will never see me write one of them with someone else. There may be past Dick/Kory, but that is not a pairing I see myself being willing to write ever.
I've also recently discovered Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, thanks to one of my best friends, Purplehood, and the characters have all won me over completely. There will definitely (hopefully) be some parental/brotherly fics coming at some point, along with some EdWin and Royaii (maybe.).
Here there be no slash, smut, non-con or m-preg. So don't seek, for you won't find. If you would like to request a story from me or if you would like me to read one of your stories, please take this into account.
On another note, I despise character bashings. I don't read them- with very few exceptions. *coughs* Felicity Smoak *coughs* And I don't write them. If I don't like a character, I simply won't write them or, if I do, I'll make the attempt to do so in a way that respects that there are people who appreciate the characters even if I don't.

Okay... I feel like this one requires some explaining. I have nothing against Maeve Donavon. The love story between Maeve and Spencer was as beautiful as it was tragic, but... killing Maeve was the right thing to do in my opinion. They didn't give Maeve enough development for me to actually care about her and the way her death played out- honestly, the only reason I cared was because it was just one more heartache for Reid. I may one day write my own little tribute to their relationship, but I don't expect I'll be trying to change canon in any way.
I liked Lila, and even Austin better.
I despised the way Lila was sexualized, but the idea of a relationship between her and Spencer was something I couldn't get out of my head. I found myself thinking that Lila was a bit of a ditz at first, but, by the end of the episode, her behavior started to feel less like the real her and more like a defensive shield. She was a character who I suddenly wanted to see more of. I thought she could bring a little humor and sweetness into the lives of the BAU... not to mention I'm curious as to how she and Garcia would get along. There was an incredible amount of chemistry between her and Spencer and, to top it all off, they were sweet together.

FIND IT INTERESTING THAT A HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL CAN SEE THE PROBLEM, BUT OUR SOCIETY CANNOT. IF I OFFEND ANYONE BY THIS, I REALLY DON'T APOLOGIZE !
Subject: Tennessee Football
This is a statement that was read over the PA system at the football game at Roane County High School , Kingston , Tennessee , by school Principal, Jody McLeod
"It has always been the custom at Roane County High School football games, to say a prayer and play the National Anthem, to honor God and Country."
Due to a recent ruling by the Supreme Court, I am told that saying a Prayer is a violation of Federal Case Law. As I understand the law at this time, I can use this public facility to approve of sexual perversion and call it "an alternate life style," and if someone is offended, that's OK.
I can use it to condone sexual promiscuity, by dispensing condoms and calling it, "safe sex.." If someone is offended, that's OK.
I can even use this public facility to present the merits of killing an unborn baby as a "viable! means of birth control." If someone is offended, no problem...
I can designate a school day as "Earth Day" and involve students in activities to worship religiously and praise the goddess "Mother Earth" and call it "ecology.."
I can use literature, videos and presentations in the classroom that depicts people with strong, traditional Christian convictions as "simple minded" and "ignorant" and call it "enlightenment.."
However, if anyone uses this facility to honor GOD and to ask HIM to Bless this event with safety and good sportsmanship, then Federal Case Law is violated..
This appears to be inconsistent at best, and at worst, diabolical.
Apparently, we are to be tolerant of everything and anyone, except GOD and HIS Commandments.
Nevertheless , as a school principal, I frequently ask staff and students to abide by rules with which they do not necessarily agree. For me to do otherwise would be inconsistent at best, and at worst, hypocritical... I suffer from that affliction enough unintentionally. I certainly do not need to add an intentional transgression.
For this reason, I shall "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's," and refrain from praying at this time..
"However, if you feel inspired to honor, praise and thank GOD and ask HIM, in the name of JESUS, to Bless this event, please feel free to do soAs far as I know, that's not against the law--yet."
One by one, the people in the stands bowed their heads, held hands with one another and began to pray.
They prayed in the stands.. They prayed in the team huddles. They prayed at the concession stand and they prayed in the Announcer's Box!
The only place they didn't pray was in the Supreme Court of the United States of America- the Seat of "Justice" in the "one nation, under GOD."
Somehow, Kingston , Tennessee Remembered what so many have forgotten. We are given the Freedom OF Religion, not the Freedom FROM Religion.. Praise GOD that HIS remnant remains!
JESUS said, "If you are ashamed of ME before men, then I will be ashamed of you before MY FATHER.."
