Ch 13: Tropical
"That's the last of it," Esther said, patting the sweat on her forehead dry with a small floral handkerchief. From early morning until mid afternoon, Misaki and Takumi had been helping Esther settle down in the mansion.
"The maids will show you around and explain your job," Takumi said, nodding at a maid standing by. He grabbed Misaki by the waist and gave Esther a small nod before leaving, pulling his wife with him.
"W-wait, Takumi," Misaki's shoulders pressed on his broad chest. "What's the matter?" Takumi shrugged, not uttering another word. He hasn't really spoken to her since this morning. Actually, Misaki thought to herself. It started last night. "Takumi," She sighed, tugging on his shirt. "You're not helping." When she didn't get a reply, she sighed, trying to break from his tight hold.
Takumi stared down at her while she was struggling. He squeezed her tighter, pressing her against him, enveloping her into a tight hug. "You left me hanging," He muttered into her ear.
"I what?" She questioned, blatantly.
"You didn't let me finish last night," Takumi whined. "And then this morning you woke up before me without waking me up."
Misaki blushed, looking away. She desperately wanted to dig a hole and jump in than stand beneath her husband's alluring stare, "B-but we were at someone else's house."
Takumi whined, "But Esther would understand."
The woman shook her head, "B-but I don't want to! It's embarrassing…" She buried her face in his chest. The man cupped her cheeks, making her look up at him. Once their eyes met, he pouted, making her cheeks light bright red. "Takumiii," She whined. "That's not fair."
The man chuckled, ruffling her hair, "Not fair?" He bent down and pecked her on the cheek, "You mean you're playing dirty."
Misaki frowned at him, giving him a questioning stare, "I'm playing dirty?" She pulled away slightly, crossing her arms, "How?"
"You're being too cute," He chuckled, nuzzling his nose in the crook of her neck. He took her hand and dragged her along once again to their room. "It's really not fair how you're using that against me."
"W-what? That's invalid!"
"If that's the case, then you're invalid," He countered. Before Misaki could say anything else, he pressed his lips onto hers. "I already told the maids that we're not having lunch and not to disturb us."
The brunette frowned, "Why?"
"So we can finish what we started last night," a playful smirk, accompanied with a husky sensual voice.
"I-I didn't start anything," Misaki quickly denied. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Okay okay," He hummed, pushing her lightly onto the bed. "What I started last night."
Misaki opened her eyes groggily. She was facing the window, and she could see that the sun had already begun to set. The orange and pink horizon signaled that they had spent more than half of their day in their room. She shifted and turned around, facing her blond alien. She enjoyed these small moments where she gets to see him peacefully resting, without his annoying teasing or the knitted brows from work. Misaki gently pushed his bangs away from his eyes, caressing his cheeks. A light smile formed on her lips. "I love you," She whispered softly. Misaki stared at her husband's sleeping face and chuckled at herself. If he were to be awake when she said that, she'd definitely never hear the end of it.
"I love you too," A low voice mummered. Takumi opened his eyes, giving her one of his small sexy smirks.
"You heard that?" Misaki blushed, pulling the cover up, hiding half of her face.
"Why wouldn't I hear a lovely wake up call?" He reached an arm over and pulled her closer by the waist, nuzzling his nose in the crook of her neck.
Misaki's face slowly turned red, "It's late already…"
"Right," He groaned, propping himself up. "We should get ready for dinner." He slipped out of bed.
"Takumi!" Misaki blushed, covering his eyes. "Clothes!"
He chuckled, picking up his boxers and shorts, "Does it matter? You already seen me naked."
"I don't care," she whined. With an amused smirk on his face, he shrugged, picking up his boxers and shorts. Misaki waited a few moments for the shuffling to die down before peeking out from under the covers. Takumi was already in the bathroom, freshening up. "Takumi, can you turn on the shower for me," Misaki requested, sitting up.
"Yes milady," He hummed, letting the water run until it was warm.
Misaki wrapped the light blanket around her body as she went into the closet, in search for fresh clothes to wear. She picked out a light blue silk over the knee dress and a pair of undergarments. She walked into the bathroom, shooing Takumi out, and began to start freshening up. Misaki shut the door behind her and let the bed sheet drop to the floor. She opened the glass shower door, stepping into the steamy filled cubicle. The warm water soothed out her, letting her tense muscles loosen. Unfortunately, her peaceful moment was disturbed by the one and only. Being married is hard- especially to this annoying alien. "Misa-channnnn~ Let's shower togetherrrrrr."
"Butt out, Takumi!" She shouted over the noise of running water.
"I can't," the blonde opened the door, sliding into the bathroom with a smirk on his face. Leave it up to Misaki to forget locking the door.
"TAKE ONE MORE STEP AND I'LL MURDER YOU!"
"I think you really did leave a bruise on me," the tall blonde examined his upper arm. He squinted, catching the slightest greenish color change on his skin.
"That's what you get," Misaki scowled, sitting on the bed with a towel in hand to dry her hair. "I told you to stay out but noooo. Little Takumi never listens."
The emerald eyed man raised a brow at her, "Oh come on Misa. It's not like I haven't seen it all anyways."
"Say that one more time, and you'll be examining another bruise."
A chuckle escaped the man's lips as he brought his shoulders up and down in a shrug, "You know what would lighten up your mood? A good night out, with some nice tropical drinks, and some dancing."
"I don't dance."
"You will soon." With that, the man grabbed his wife by the wrist and practically flew out their mansion. A car was ready for them to drive them down the hill to the mansion's entrance gate. "We'll get off here," Takumi grinned, opening the door. He led the woman out with him, leading her down the road towards town.
"Takumi, my hair is still wet," Misaki rolled her eyes.
"Don't worry sweetheart. You'll forget about it soon." He chuckled as they entered the outskirts of the small town. The area was small and well lit. It was obviously a town of the night life. It was the breaking of dusk and the streetside lamps were already lighting up one by one. The street food carts that were not there in the morning came out one by one. "They have a special event tonight," Takumi hummed. "Tonight is the full moon. They have a celebration every full moon. It's a tradition."
"Wait… Is this a tribal event?" Misaki's brows furrowed together. Her eyes caught sight of girls dressed up in long silky dresses and men with floral necklaces surrounding a bond fire.
"I think so," the taller blond hummed.
"And you just bought their island?" Misaki did not like the idea of having outsiders (in this case, the Walker Co.) just buying a tribal land and forcing it to be some tourist attraction.
Takumi raised a brow as he noticed his wife's sudden agitation, "Honey, don't worry. We work closely with the chief. We're at a mutual agreement. We will help preserve their sacred land. There are only a limited numbers of tourists that can enter here at a time. Don't worry so much." He rubbed her shoulder soothingly. A small smile played on his lips. Of course his wife would always think about other first. "How about we stop all this business talk and go enjoy ourselves for the night."
With a small sigh, the raven haired woman shrugged, "Might as well."
Hand in hand, the couple entered a small beachside bar and ordered a couple of drinks. "Make sure you don't drink too much," Takumi warned as he watched his wife take a sip
of her tropical drink.
"Oh please," she waved her hand a little. "This isn't even that alcoholic. You can barely taste it."
"Which is why it's trouble," The man sighed, running a hand through his golden hair.
Misaki laughed, "You're the one who told me to enjoy myself, so here I am." She lifted up her glass and took a small sip. Her eyes slid to the beach where the men and women had started their dancing. The moon has begun to show itself as the sun was retreating. Drum beats could be heard, starting from a slow and rolling tempo. The dancers took a step with each beat, closing the circle they have created around the fire. With their hands locked together and big smiles on their lips, their steps became faster and faster, along with the accompanying drum beat. They broke into two small circles, then weaving into one big one again.
"That seems so hard," Misaki sighed, admiring the traditional dance sequence. "But they make is seem so easy."
"Do you want to try?"
"Never!" The woman laughed, taking another sip of her drink. "I'd look like a dying fish in there."
"Hey, you never know," With that, the blonde grabbed her hand once again and ran down the patio and to the beach.
