Yeah, I'm a CloTi. But, really, I liked Aerith's date best.

Much like how the high affection highwind scene fits the compilation better canon-wise, Aerith's date fits the story best as well. It's more significant to the plot and she reveals more information about this character, Zack, whom we know very little about at that point in the game.

Her date is extremely significant to Cloud, as a character, and her words, especially her, "I want to meet you, Cloud" play a role in his development, what with his desire to meet her being expressed at the end of the game.

I wouldn't go as far to say that the date IS canon and set in stone, but I wouldn't be shocked or upset if it were. I have gotten Aerith's date + the high affection highwind scene before, so it's very much possible that the two can be canon simultaneously. I don't see why everyone gets so worked up over this possibility; Aerith's date being canon does not, in any way, shape or form, trump CloTi at all. :\ It just adds more depth to both her character, Cloud's, their relationship and makes her death scene even more tragic than it already was. Does it prove Clerith? Uhm, not really. The dates are all pretty one-sided, with Cloud being confused and forced into them all, pretty much.

However, I DID like Tifa's date. I thought it was cute and sweet and wished those stupid fireworks woulda shut up so Cloud could have heard her, damn it! I also found it sweet that her date is the only one where Cloud can't really anger her. He shows interest in what she says by asking her to repeat her words spoken on the gondola. Which was cute. :3 It's also pretty sweet how the song that plays is very befitting of her date; Interrupted By Fireworks.

But, I still think Aerith's date is more official. :P Did that make sense?
