Yayz I decided we should have another topic on this newborn forum!
So what characters do you think have improved, got worse or just haven't done enough?
Obviously the main saddest thing is Micro-Ice, who is my favourite character in season 1 and 2 but definitely isn't in season 3 :\ He feels so generic and that voice has no personality :|
And the most amazing thing is...Mark! I don't hate him! Maybe it's because Micro-Ice has changed so much that I wouldn't care if he was horrible to him, but in season 3 Mark seems to be okay. Mei's returned to season 1 standard (ie a bit of a cow) but she's a much more interesting character now. D'jok's great...he's exactly the same, he injects normality into the craziness that is season 3. But what do you think? Discuss:
Yeah, Micro-ice's voice makes me feel irritated with the character. I think season 2 Mei was such an improvement, I'm pretty annoyed she's reverted back this season, it makes it difficult to like her.
I felt vaguely annoyed with Mark saying 'no problemo' in the second ep as it's an annoying expression but apart from that my Mark-hate is lessened too probably because he hasn't done or said much this season. I actually feel slightly sorry for D'jok, I never really sympathised with him before, but at least now he has a reason for acting like a jerk.
I'm annoyed with what they've done to Sinedd though, his sincerity in interacting with Mei just seems out of character to me, I don't know....
Artegor's character development is great, I love psycho!Artegor but I also like toughbutcaring!Artegor and just his general awesomeness.
Tia, Rocket, Thran and Ahito haven't really been in it enough to properly judge.
I gotta admit I liked season 2 Mei too, but she did kinda fade into the background a lot. I quite like that because she's with Sinedd she's kinda reverted back to season 1...Sinedd. HE NEEDS TO BECOME NORMAL NOW! I love him I always will and always have but I'm fed up of seeing him gloat around with Mei, I want an interaction between Sinedd and another SnowKid that doesn't have Mei present, it'd be more interesting. Or an actual proper talking scene between Mei and Sinedd which doesn't seem fake (Like their first talking scene did) or I at least want to see how they came together cuz otherwise I'll have to write it :L
Omg I'm nearly crying for D'jok XD I've always liked him (even when he was an egotisitc jerk) but he's sooo slow on the uptake, he only realised in episode 3 that Mei and Sinedd were 'together'? Hello they were holding hands and linking arms in episode 2 XD To be honest the whole Sinedd Mei relationship thing needs more depth for me to reeeallly enjoy it (but yeah it still makes me happy XD cuz I'm a crazy SineddXMei fangirl). Poor D'jok he always realises too late that he's done something wrong.
I'll tell you who I like though, Lune-Zia! She's such a sweetie XD
Oh yeah I love how Artegor's basically coaching Aarch how to be a coach. And the next one! They're gonna be in the holo-trainer didya see!? Squeeeeness XD
Tia looks to be showing a different side of her with that jealousy she showed in this episode...and she asked D'jok if he was alright, more ammuntion for my evil D'jokXTia love XD
But Rocket isn't really acting like how I thought Rocket...was, it's kinda strange but I guess I can just put it down to his enthusiasm about football?
I think with Thran, Ahito and Mark they're just trying to make them seem more like just a gang of mates, and I'm feeling it :L
And Yuki, they're trying to give her more depth? I just felt a little bemused when she left, I was just left like...whut? O.O
True, I think if a show is going to suddenly introduce a really different pairing then they have to explain it and make it feel real. I can't help but wonder whether Sinedd/Mei will last or whether she'll see the 'error of her ways' and go back to D'jok. I dunno, like you said, Sinedd and Mei's scene was quite fake.
Yeah, Lune-Zia is sweet, I agree there.
And yes I saw it and I was like "SQUEE!". What's also interesting to me is that Artegor is able to help and support Aarch, whereas Adium's just like "nothing I can do," about the Paradisia thing...it's not really her fault but it still makes Artegor look better for Aarch.
Rocket does seem interested in Lune-Zia though, it just seems like they want to break everyone up and make completely new couples, but we'll wait and see.
I kind of understand Yuki leaving, it makes sense that she would feel superfluous with Ahito being on the team and she would like to really push herself. It's nice that she left in a calm way rather than by having arguments like Mei.
I don't want her to get back with D'jok personally, I mean it makes me sad that they're not together but by listening to Mei it sounds like D'jok was the one who was making the relationship difficult...but I am EXTREMELY biased XD
I get you. I don't want Adium to be with Aarch, she's annoying.
Lol all new couples that'd be funny XD Yuki and Micro-Ice are basically split up and Mei and D'jok are done for, imagine if Rocket and Tia got split up, that would cause an explosion on the Galactik Football archive I'm sure XD
Yeah I do get why Yuki left it just sorta confused me I guess, but I suppose it is in character for her to want to push herself and be 'herself' and not just be tied in with Micro-Ice, I get the feeling she sorta wants to break free from just being in a relationship with 'Mice' or maybe she just wants to get away from his voice? :L
I think both Mei and D'jok are probably equally to blame for the relationship break-down. It's hard to tell though, as they were happy when we last left them in season 2 so we just have to take their word for it on their problems. I think I want Mei to be on her own for a while and if she does break up with Sinedd not to just go racing back to D'jok, I think she needs to think more about her relationships instead of just rushing off like she does.
I bet it would...Rocket/Tia is like the most popular couple on here, wouldn't suprise me though from what I've heard about what's happening with Rocket in future eps.
Haha, good explanation, we all just want to escape from the voice...who knows? I think this season has gone in for the dramatics too early and not really given anything much build up, it's interesting but sometimes is like 'WHAT?'
Not really related to character development...but is it just me or are the Flux society entirely useless. They know about the threat but they do absolutely nothing because they have no evidence and the only reason the terrible consquences about the abuse of flux, they are always going about, don't happen is because the Pirates usually save the day and stop the villain, if it were just up to the Flux Society the Galaxy would be ruled by Bleylock or Harris already.
Oh interesting topics all over the place :) Bah! I don't live in the UK so I'm still stuck with only having watched the first episode :( keep on telling guys! I'm very interested in what's happening!
As much as fan I am, I would not be so dissappointed if Rocket and Tia broke up -as long as they don't go out of character much. On those little summaries for the upcoming episodes, Tia is never mentioned after seeing Rocket kiss Lun-Zia (I think it's clear he is not Lune-Zeara now?), I just hope she doesn't leave her dream of playing football over breaking up with Rocket, she fought for it so much. And I hope she doesn't beg for him or anything -that I would complain about. That kissy huggy in the first episode still creeps me out, better have them broken up then watch them turn into something it was never implied they could turn into. But pray tell, is Rocket really interested in Lun-Zia? Or is Tia making a fuss over nothing?
Tha changes of Micro's and Sinedd's voices feel like they changed their characters, too. Sinedd's is more about him not sounding like himself :-s "I want you, Mei." I only thought I'd hear such words from the badboy of GF in a raspy/sexy way while trying to have his way into her pants :) This one doesn't sound like the Sinedd I like. Micro's voice is total fail, what happened to the other guy I wonder?
And I'm so excited for Aarch and Artegor on the pitch! You should write all about it!!! Please!!!
I can see so many mistakes in my previous posts, sorry about that :( I'm a little sick, please bear with me :(
Ah, it sucks that you can't watch it, if you're interested in knowing what's happening I'm doing detailed recaps over at my livejournal if you wanted to read those.
That's an interesting point of view, especially as you are a fan. It's true that Tia has become so clingy and jealous now, it's kind of weird, paranoid after the whole Netherball thing perhaps...I think it's too early to tell now, so far it's been football related with Rocket's interest in Lune-Zia but it could turn into something more...who knows?
Yeah, I would have thought if there was going to be a relationship with Sinedd and Mei that it's be more I don't know, forbidden, dangerous type rather than sappy and happy, it just seems like the wrong tone for them, especially for Sinedd.
When it happens in the ep tomorrow you can count on me squeeing and babbling endlessly about the two of them going on the pitch, you know me!

YAY! Going over to read your recaps now XD I'm so glad you're doing them! And I knew I could count on you, that's why I love you ^_^ You are awesome :)
I'm a fan, but I can understand two people can break up. I'd like to imagine Rocket will be immensely regretful afterwards and find Tia even if years later, she'll go around like "... and you see me/somebody new/I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you!" and then he'll insist and they'll make hot make-up sex (whoops! accidental new fic? actually that song always reminded me Adium and Aarch especially with "Now you're back/from outer space" LOL!) but hey I'll be fine as long they manage the story properly. I've watched them fall in love and then fight for love; it can be interesting to watch them fall for others and remember each other a) as a sweet first lover b) as the idiot who broke my heart/the witch whom I'm glad I got rid off :) I just want the story to be told nicely.
Which is why I cannot grasp Sinedd/Mei right now: as you said, sappy happy Sinedd/Mei? WHAT?! WHY?! In which parallel universe?! I need to see how it happened -even though I cannot stand cheaters, and it certainly looks like there was cheating on Mei's part involved (I don't care how irritating D'Jok can get, and he can get pretty irritating, if she didn't want to be with him she should have broken up with him, no one chained her to him!) which will make me like her less :( But if it'll make sense, I want to watch the cheating -I want to see how Mei went from mimicing D'Jok's goal in a way to praise him to getting so angry at him to develop the Smog. He must've done something. Or Sinedd must've found a way to get to her! We must see it, they can't just throw it out there and expect us to be satisfied just because the couple had numerous supporters.
If only Galactik Football was more adult hey Indecisive? XD
To be honest Sinedd's voice seemed pretty normal when he was squaring up to D'jok- so may be he's just got this delicate tone for Mei or something? Either way I agree, I totally thought they'd have a more edgy relationship, but I think it's because we're focusing on D'jok's perspective of the relationship?
Season 2 wrecked Tia for myself personally- I hope she gets less paranoid and becomes stronger for season 3 :)
According to Mei (that's all we've got, according to people, I wanna see the actual reasons!) her and D'jok have had a distancing relationship for a while now. Waaahh why is my favourite coupling not being played out the way I want it to!? I might run down to the studio and rewrite it!!! XD
*Blushes* thanks indecisive-ays. And *giggles* at your ideas for Rocket/Tia.
Exactly, Gerkyhen, they can't just tell us these things they have to show us too for it to have an impact and to be believable. Heh, if all doesn't go well this season then we can always rewrite it in our fanfiction.
Zomg defintely!
Though this season has a very likely chance of messing up a major Sinedd/Mei fic I was planning to write after my Tia and Mei friendship fic. RAAAWR It was gonna be all edgy and dark and naughty and smexi and coolio and I dunno...IN CHARACTER!? XD
I'm sure FemaleSpock you can handle all the Aarch/Artegor moments of season 3? ;)
Oh totally! I once told FemaleSpock that, if this show was more mature Rocket would have groupies as the King of the Sphere XD then Tia would get in a catfight haha!
It may be that... then I wonder if its a plot to hone Mei in? Actually now that you said D'Jok's point of view, isn't it weird for a kids' show to break up its lead character with his girlfriend and putting her in a relationship with the antagonist? Then again Aarch said "butts" so I guess its fine :)
Yeah, I do admit I was a bit creeped out with her crying all the time, too. It was like she went from the wild tomboy to the sweet girlfriend. I hated how "poor Tia" startedto appear on every video and review :( she was not poor in season 1! And she forgave Rocket too quickly for my taste. But in episode 20 she made up for it, at least for me. I love how she hits his head with the ball and grins as she kicks his ass :) that one there, that's my girl ;)
LOL!
I know, I was thinking when I first saw the italian dub one where I had no idea what was going on: 'Oh this is great I can use all these Sinedd/Mei-ish moments to make a great fic' Then they actually are going out!? I was like LE GASP. *Swoon* *Faint with happiness*...cuz I'll admit even if it isn't in character...I totally love them together ;)
Yeah I wish she'd dragged Rocket on a little longer, cuz then it's too easy to say she's completley dependent on him, which I don't think she is. That's the reason I don't want D'jok and Mei to get back together- I hope the writers in true Galactik Football style manage to shock us. I love D'jok and Mei together but if season 3's anything to go by they've had trrrouuubllleees.
It is really weird for a kid's show, I never expected it to happen but I guess they probably know who their main fanbase is and perhaps they are adjusting it for that.
Yeah, she was awesome when she beat Rocket, to be honest I think everyone forgives everyone too easily on Galactik Football. Apart from Artegor who resented Aarch for like 15 years but apart from that everyone just forgives everyone no matter what.
I think they are definitely going for the shock factor, I just hope they don't just easily change things back to how they were at the end of the season, there has to be more consequences for actions.
DO write that Sinedd/Mei fic! Please DO!!!
And we are all counting on FS to spot every little Aarch/Artegor interaction ;) I've just read her recaps (THANK YOU!!!) and I was like "Man, if I didn't read these first I'd totally be like 'oh what great bromance between Aarch and Artegor and Adium wll make a pretty bride, yay!'" :)
@FemaleSpock: I love how you adress the show, as well, "the show" and complain about outfits XD 3/4 trousers for everyone LOL, maybe they was a discount and they all got them together XD And I may have mentioned this earlier but if my eyes are not deceiving me it says "H2" on Rocket's shirt and "O" on Tia's in the intro. Great now they are a couple wearing matching t-shirts!
Definetley. I'm fed up with everyone getting away with everything. Because I swear Adium said in season 2 that she'd waited too long for Aarch and now yaaaay they're going on dates and shizzle? As if :| Hey quick question (cuz I don't think this warrants a thread) what do you think of the new outfits? :L
Dont worry that TRUE Sinedd/Mei fic (as I will now refer to it) is HAPPENING! XD Awww I found those shirts sweet! XD and I love the way Rocket's doing his hair :}
Haha, yes, rely on me for Aarch/Artegor...it's my addiction!
Glad you liked the recaps; give me a reason to continue writing them!
And yes, I hate the 3/4 length trousers, especially on Artegor...WHY? WHY? His outfit suck...But I do like Rocket's hair now. I like Mei's outfit better than her old one and and Aarch's is actually a massive improvement, he looks so much slimmer now not to mention the luck at escaping the 3/4 lengths of doom!
Yup I liked Mei's new outfit too :D. Did you see D'jok and Sinedd both have a black band on their wrist? I'm gonna pretend that's symbolism for something :L
Actually Adium didn't forgive him in the first season too, but she did in the second one and it was so random. He wasn't even asking for forgiveness anymore if I remember correctly?!
And if they want to adjust for the fanbase; they should get Rocket with Sinedd, Aarch with Artegor and reveal Sonny was involved with Bleylock at some point XD Let's not forget Thran and Ahito! Actually, I'd like to see how they'd pull all that XD See the problem with adjusting is, it's not easy to do so and it usually messes with the storylines. Zuko and Katara have probably the biggest fandom, but even though they teased the shippers a bit, the creators made it clear they were just friends -and fans still found a way around it, which is fun! They should leave those to us and concentrate on improving the show :)
Wait, Rocket's hair? I didn't notice his hair! What happened to it?! And the shirts are sweet actually, I just don't like how clingy Tia looks there and am taking my hate from the shirts XD matching shirts can give the guy an impression that the relationship is getting serious/sappy and he may want a way out - there's the reason for why Rocket's going to leave Tia. It's the evil shirts, I'm telling you!
I don't understand why she suddenly forgave him, who knows? She wasn't than angry with him to begin with though not compared to Artegor and Norata.
Bwahaha, yes, I see your point entirely, subtext is fun, sometimes having a pairing as canon can wreck it.
Well it's not the same as Season 1 or 2, kind of...I dunno...it looks good anyway.
Oh yah season 1, you is correct :) He's tied it up but let like one lock stay down- it's naaaice :)
Its an interesting season but clearly a crazy one. I know what you mean about subtext- cuz like I mentioned earlier I was all set to make massive presumptions from any interaction between Mei and Sinedd XD But I'm not gonna lie- i do like seeing pairings I ship XD cuz I'm selfish like that :L
Haha, everyone likes seeing pairings they ship, it's not selfish. I'd probably die and go to heaven if Aarch and Artegor got together. But yeah, it works either way- if your fav pairing is canon then it's great because you get to see it on screen, if it's not then you get to write fanfiction to try and make it seem canon. Win-win situation!
I'll take you guys' word for it, then :) I wish they'd upload the other episodes!
PS: isn't it funny how Rocket's the one who changes his hair all the time? The return of the dreads had a minor plot even! And who had a clothes change in every new season except for him? I think Mei has a secret rival as the fashionista of GF! XD
