"Well you'll have tons of time to think because I'm leaving," Aksel said and at this point really didn't care what Tay thought. "And I'm not coming back, after this war or whatever is over you won't see me around here anymore unless there's a fight between X-Men and Brotherhood."

Mordecai sniffed the air and realized no one was following them. "You don't understand. Magnus is a being of pure good, there is not a foulable bone in his body. He was concieved by two very stong negatives therefore the offspring can only be a equally strong positive. All this negative energy between our own people, our own God forsaken team, is very well killing him. Why do you think he's in pain all the time? So then you throw on top of all that pain he normally feels an inevitable war where he will feel millions upon millions of humans and mutants alike dying. No one in the universe is strong enough to face that but Magnus has too. That light you saw was his pure essense trying to escape it all, not by choice but by longing to escape. Now you said he has favorite places to go to, where were they?"

Tay closed her eyes and sighed. "That only happened because I heard it from Nate, and not you," she said. "Plus the fact you've been keeping it all from me. If you had just told me from the first, I would have trusted you. You don't seem to get that."

Tay counted to ten quietly in her head, then said, "Just ... forget it." She'd given up entirely. As soon as she did, she felt the color drain from her face and her shoulders sag. Tears pricked her eyes. "We obviously can't sort this out." She shoved her fist into her eyes and turned to walk away.

"Yeah, well," Tay said, her voice cracking. She didn't trust herself to go on, and forced herself to keep walking. She felt like she'd cut her own arm off.
