Ciel nodded as she walked to the library to start her work there.
"Nice to see that I don't scare the crap out of you anymore." Justin said smiling as he followed Ciel to the library.
Ciel chuckled as she turned to Justin and said, "I don't really need to be afraid of you, do I? After all you mean no harm..." her voice dropped to a whisper, "Besides, someone helped me overcome that..."
"That's true." Justin said. His sensitive ears picked up what she whispered but decided to leave it alone. "I find myself to be a very odd Chain. I don't feel the need to devour humans and I'm unusually quiet."
Ciel chuckled. "So why do you have a..." she paused and started thinking of an appropriate word, "bucket list?" she finished curiously.
"Well, that's largely due to the fact that my existence here is very unstable. So without a contractor, I'll be forced back into the Abyss." Justin said. "So I'm just learning what I can before that time comes."
"Oh... What will happen if your time here runs out?" asked Ciel as they started to get close to the library.
"I'll be forcibly sucked back into the Abyss." Justin said and he saw the library in clear view. "I'm not sure if I'll be able to come back here when that happens or I'll be stuck in the Abyss for eternity."
Curiosity got the best of the girl, "Is it true that the Abyss is a frightening place?" she asked, but didn't mean to offend, "Oh but you don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable..."
"Well for humans it can be frightening since low class Chains will attack you." Justin said while trying to think. "If you're a Chain like me then it's mostly boring. I will admit that it's a cold and dark place but I'm used to it."
Ciel nodded. She opened the door to the library and the librarian immediately made a comment about her currently short hair. She just chuckled and led Justin to the section where the maps were kept.
Justin smiled widely when he saw the massive amount of maps in the section. He raced towards it and eagerly searched through it to find this town's map. Once he did, he grinned and looked over it. "A whole lot of things have changed since I was last here."
Ciel smiled as Justin engrossed himself with the maps. She proceeded to shelving the books and was quite surprised to see the same book she dropped yesterday with Kias was still there.
Justin grabbed a couple more maps and took a seat. He scanned over two at the same time and nodded after looking over each part. "I guess being gone for a hundred years made me miss a hell of a lot of stuff."
Ciel continued shelving the books. She went over to Justin and asked, "Have you found what you needed?"
"Yep and I'm almost ready to explore the town." Justin said as he stared to redraw the entire map of this town on a large piece of paper.
(Oh sorry!)
Ciel nodded and said, "Be careful... And have fun!" and she resumed shelving the books.
