A/N: So as of writing this, I have watched all but one episode of the Unit. For those unfamiliar with the show, it was a CBS drama that ran for four seasons, and it dealt with the missions and personal lives of a group of army special forces soldiers who were members of the Unit, the army name for Delta Force. One of my favorite characters in that show was a late addition to the team, Bridget Sullivan. She is the only female member of the Unit, but quickly proves herself just as capable as any of the men. Of course like many great shows, the Unit got canceled. But I couldn't help but think of how Bridget had the same last name as our favorite blonde reporter, and thus an idea was born. Now if you've read through this very long author's note (or just skipped to the end), I hope you enjoy the story!
Tactical Operations Center-Ft. Griffith
"Son of a bitch! You son of a bitch!" Clark Kent yelled, grabbing Colonel Thomas Ryan by his collar and slamming him against a wall.
"You'd better let me go before I have you court martialed son." Colonel Ryan said, and Clark glared at him, not saying a word for a moment.
"Give us the room."
That was Jonas's voice, and Clark didn't need his powers to hear the anger in his team leader's voice. That was to be expected. Colonel Ryan's recent actions had led to the kidnapping of Jonas's wife Molly by Sam McBride, a member of the Unit who up until a moment ago, they had all believed to be a traitor. Under the order's of Colonel Ryan, McBride had pretended to go rogue in order to infiltrate a potential terrorist cell. He had succeeded, but at a very high price.
Only when the room had been cleared of everyone except Jonas, Clark and Colonel Ryan did the young man speak again.
"Explain. Explain how in the hell you thought it was acceptable to run Sam McBride off book like you did."
"I am in command here Seargent Kent, and my responsibility is to protect this country by any means necessary. That's all the explanation you need." He said, and Clark tigtened his grip on the older man.
"Any means necessary? Does that include letting Molly get kidnapped? Does that include letting Sam McBride nearly kill us all? Does that include letting that animal RAPE MY WIFE?!"
"Sam is now in with the terrorists, and whatever he knows, we know. Now I am sorry for Warrant Officer Sullivan's injuries but-"
"My father used to say that everything before the word but is bullcrap." Jonas said.
"Clark, go check on your wife. Then if you're both up to it, we have a mission in nine hours."
"What about him? If the punishment for sleeping with an operator's wife is death, then what's the punishment for hiring a man to rape her huh Snakedoc?"
"I promise you my friend, he will pay for everything he has done. But right now, you have a wife who needs you, and we have a mission to prepare for."
"Alright Jonas. But when the mission's done, I want a vote."
"We'll have it." Jonas replied as Clark let the Colonel drop to the floor and walked out of the room.
As he left, he remembered how he had gotten here. He remembered how he had become a member of the Unit, but more importantly, he remembered how Chloe had introduced him to the woman who would become the love of his life. Her older sister, Bridget Sullivan.
A/N: So just an idea I had! I'm honestly not sure if I'll go anywhere with it, but I wanted to put it out there. Please let me know what you think in a review
