The song came off of the Pokemon the first movie soundtrack. Which I don't own. I don't own the tape of the soundtrack, either. It's Matt's, but he let me borrow it.
A/N This story is rather depressing. I cried while I was writing it. Read at your own risk. I'm having one of my mood swings, so don't mind me. This is dedicated to a friend of mine who moved three years ago. Haven't seen her since. R-This is to you.
This is being written at 12:45am. Matt had some friends over for a sleep over, and they are fast asleep. I'm too tired and depressed to write anything good. Come back tomorrow. Sorry if it sucks.
Is it too late?
By Jewel of the Twilight
He'd always thought Frodo would stay. Maybe it was because it just seemed right, maybe it was because he did not know the extent of the wounds Frodo had suffered. In any case, he'd never expected this...
=How will I start
Tomorrow without you here
Who's heart will guide me
When all the answers disappear=
He watched the white ship sailing off into the distance, and he wondered "Could it turn around? Could it come back?" But he knew the answer. No, it could not. It was leaving, taking a piece of his heart with it.
=Is it too late?
Are you too far gone to stay?
This one's forever
Should never have to go away.=
"But Frodo deserves it." He thought. "What he didn't deserve was the pain." But this didn't help him. It only made him feel worse. "It shouldn't have been him. It should have been me. The other thing he deserves is a life."
=What will I do?
You know I'm only half without you.
How will I make it through?=
But he knew what Frodo would have said: "No. I chose this. I chose to take that thing." But thinking of what Frodo would say only made it worse. A tear ran down his face, followed by another, and another...
=If only tears could bring you back to me
If only love could find a way
What I would do, what I would give
If you returned to me someday
Somehow, someway
If my tears could bring you back to me=
But he wiped them away. He knew Frodo would want him to go on with his life. They would now both be happy. Slowly, with one last glance at the white ship, now just a dot of white, he turned his pony around. "Goodbye, Mr. Frodo."
A/N Yes, I only used half the song. If I'd used anymore I would have started crying so hard I would not be able to see the keys, and this story would never had been posted. ::watery smile:: Please review.
