145The first time he mentions having the best present ever was around Halloween. You smile, and ask him what it is. He doesn't answer, only mentioning that you'll find out when you do. You try to tease the answer out of him, and you could see his defenses going down. You almost have him cornered, and are ready to ask again when he gets saved by the bell, which turns out to be your best friend since childhood. Once your childhood best friend leaves, he manages to seduce you that night, and it was only about two or three weeks later that you realize that he might have planned to seduce you that night to remove all thoughts from your mind so that he wouldn't be tricked into telling you what the present is, and you congratulate him mentally on succeeding.
The next time he mentions the present, it's during Black Friday. He tells you that he got the present even cheaper than it would be during Black Friday. You try to get him to tell you what it is, even going as far as letting him eat blue cookies until February and letting him do you in whatever hole he wants until January, but he still doesn't tell, though you know he was on the verge of agreeing. You plan on continuing to try and get it out of him once you two are back in the car, but then you two run into Jason and Piper, who were also doing their Black Friday shopping in the same store, and the thought was almost forgotten after talking with them. Upon saying goodbye to the couple, you notice that Jason's shirt is inside out and that both of their hairs is slightly disheveled. You discreetly look for clues as to where they did it, and the toilet paper on Piper's sneakers tells her exactly where they did it. You are about to try to get Piper admit that she did it with Jason in the bathroom, when he does it instead, though a little more blunter than she would have. The couple in front of them get embarrassed, and he puts the two at ease before you and he take your leave and allow them to go fix themselves (though you're pretty sure they're a shade of red a tomato would be jealous of after Percy makes a comment of their 'activity' in the bathroom as they leave.)
Soon, it was Christmas, and you're pretty sure the present Percy was talking about for the last two months would be under the tree. As such, she opened all her presents from him before he even got out of the bedroom, only to find out it wasn't under the tree. She looks in the stockings they hung up, as well as inside the tree (he keeps small presents in there sometimes in green wrapping paper to irritate her every other year), but to no avail. He's sitting on the coach, watching you and silently laughing as you grow frustrated with every present you open only to find out it wasn't the one he was mentioning (though it should be said that she did appreciate every present he got her, even the reservation to an expensive restaurant where they can watch the ball drop on New Years Eve)
It's New Years Eve, and you're on our way to your reservation with him, and you wonder if he's ever going to give him the present he's been mentioning. You arrive at the restaurant, and you find out he made this reservation in May, and you don't know if you've ever felt so touched. He tells her of the hours he's been working since then, trying to make up the money he spent on the reservation, and you ask him why he didn't ask you for money. He tells you he wanted it to be a surprise, and that he's been planning this since exactly 365 days ago, when you mentioned never seeing the ball drop before. After he tells you this, you're not sure if you've ever been so honored that someone would go through something for her just so she can experience it. You tell yourself that he'll get his reward later that night once they get back home. Soon, people are counting down, and you realize that the ball is dropping. You start counting down with them, and you can just see him in the corner of your eye looking at you and smiling. You return your attention to the ball and just as the ball drops, you turn around, only to find him disappeared, or so you thought. You look down, and you see him kneeling with a ring on the ground, and there is that unspoken question in the air. You nod profusely, removing your hands from your mouth (when did they go there?) so that he could place it on your hand, and as soon as he does, everyone around you cheers as you pull him into a kiss. Once you two break apart, he asks if you liked the present, and the realization gives him another kiss, as well as several late night gifts for the next few days.
Sorry for not posting for a while. I wanted to post a one shot for the Holidays, but I got busy and I wrote this the first chance I got. Anyways, happy holidays, and have a lot of mangos!
