Hi fans of Forget Me Not! I'm super sorry for all the hiatus' this story has taken. Turns out my muse won't let me plot anything else in this story and I kinda realized that I made a mistake when writing about Italy's amnesia. I had researched the topic before but after doing some research on the topic again, I found that I was going about this all wrong. I decided that since my muse isn't working with me on the current plot, I'm going to reboot the whole story into something completely different. As much as I wanted to finish the current plot, it's just not going to work. So while you guys wait for the reboot, allow me to explain my process for this plot.

Before my muse decided to go on strike, Italy was going to go through this weird phase. Back when I started this, it was common to make characters go and act like a 2p or really edgy. For example, nations would kill/capture other nations because their loved one was being held hostage and they had no choice in the matter and everyone else had to uncover why their fellow nation was causing a war and save them. Or it was common to make stories where a nation would snap and cause a war over something and the other nations would go and be killed and not come back (no nation healing) while trying to take down the warring nation. I was going to do something like that.

This would have happened after Italy gained his memories. Italy and Germany would have gotten closer with Romano eventually coming around with them getting close and at some point there would have been a confession. Although, there was a catch. Italy is recovering his memories during this time and France would have admitted to being the cause of the whole accident since he was the one who snuck into Switzerland's house. And at the time I had plotted it so France was being a perv (It's really bad because I portrayed him as such which made me dislike his character a lot) and this would have gotten Italy mad. This would cause Italy to snap in a sense and hold France hostage for his pain and misery. Germany would end up being the only person to bring some sense back to him and Italy would run back to where the accident occurred. Germany would go looking for Italy, risk himself to save Italy from the pit again and then get a happy ending out of it? Somehow?

Like I said. It was a weird phase and I didn't like it so when I decided to rewrite old chapters, I decided to replot the story. Unfortunately, I never got a proper ending in mind and thought I could think of something as I wrote. I tried to center the new rewrite on Italy's trauma along with the trauma that Romano, Germany, and France would have experienced. I had written more scenes so I could get more time with Germany and Italy and hopefully explore everyone's trauma. There was going to be a G8 meeting where everyone was going to be reunited with Italy and try to help him get used to everything again which would have made him go traveling to other countries to recover Italy's memories with them. There was a scene where I was going to reference the Valentine's Day episode and make the romance bloom from there. I also was going to keep the scene where Italy gets mad at France for being the cause of the accident, though I was going to make sure it wasn't because he was being a perv. It was just going to be a misunderstanding and Italy wasn't going to listen to the whole explanation. This would have caused Italy to hang around Germany more and then somehow get a happy ending with France somehow getting forgiven.

Now, I think my main problem was that I was trying to focus on too many things at once in addition to having no good research that I thought was fine at the time. With the reboot, I'm planning on making everyone human and redoing how the amnesia is gained and hopefully focusing on one or two perspectives. I have high hopes for this because I don't want to drop this story. It was the first one I started working on and holds a special place in my heart. I will finish this story and I hope you guys join me when I officially start the reboot. This will stay up til then.
