Prologue: Beyond The Battle

As the two balls of light ascend higher into the heavens and beyond the sight of those watching from below Flonne who had been so caught up in what had happened only now realized the absents of the Seraph. Looking around frantically she saw him lying unconscious on the floor. "Master Lamington!" Flonne said in alarm running to the angelic leaders' side summing her staff Flonne cast a healing spell a warm gentle light washed over Lamington fully healing his wounds.

Regaining conscious the celestial leader slowly sat up greeting his former pupil. "Ah, I see you have not been harmed Flonne," he said kindly. "Mater Lamington are you alright!?" Asked Flonne worried With a reassuring smile the Seraph rose to his feet. "I am quite unharmed The attack just knocked the wind out of me." the head angel explained. "It seems I underestimated you, King Laharl..." theangelic leader said his next words interrupted by celestial hosts entering the room ready to defend their Seraph Laharl thought it nothing but blind loyalty, he was ready for a fight if they wanted one. He started to lift his blade behind him Etna stepped in front of Flonne spear raised ready to strike the first angel that tried something. "Wait, hold your positions!" commanded a famine voice.

A woman with long flowing dark brown hair From her robes, it was clear she was a high-ranking angel an Archangel perhaps? Made her way thought the mob of Angels standing between the celestial hosts and Laharl group she addressed the Seraph with a small bow.

"Master Lamington I'm relieved to see you're unharmed." she began. "What has happened here?" She asked confused by what she saw there were clear signs of a battle yet the Seraph was unharmed not even a blemish on his robes. The highest ranking angel had also noticed Flonne now a Fallen Angel.

"Ah, you are just in time Angelina." Lamington greeted his subordinate warmly before explaining everything to his fellow Celsteins. "This is King Laharl the overlord of the Netherworld Flonne and her friends have just helped save all of Celestia. I'm afraid all of my suspicions have been confirmed," he told the Archangel. "I see Angelina said, looking grim. "My apologies for not being here in time Master Lamington. She said humbly before addressing Laharl and his group. "King Laharl I am Angelina Archangel of Celestia thank you for aiding our Seraph. It is unfortunate you and the others became entangled in what is clearly an internal affair of Celestia." Angelina said pleasantly turning back to her Master to ask for further institutions. "Master Lamington shall I escort the overlord and his party back to the Nexusgate?" She inquired the mere suggestion of this outraged the group of Celestial hosts.

"Master, what is the meaning of this? Theses demons have forced their way into the sanctuary attacked seraph Lamington they must pay for their sins," said one of the celestial hosts the others nodded and voiced their agreement that the demons must pay. "That shall not be necessary." the Seraph said firmly quieting the enraged group of angels. "If not for Flonne and her friends the former Archangel Vulcanus may have taken over all of Celestia and begin a devastating war with the demons of the netherworld they deserve our thanks," he informed the angels. The celestial hosts stood down lowing their weapons from behind him Laharl hared Flonne let out a sigh of relief unsure what to do now Laharl let Lamington decide what happens next.

"I believe it would indeed be for the best to see them back to the Nexusgate Angelina." Lamington instructed the Archangel "As you wish Master Lamington." she said with a small bow turning to the Celestial host the Archangel instructed one squid should stay with the Seraph while the other accompanies her and the overlord's group back to the Netherworld. With the seraph left in the hands of the healers and celestial hosts Ark angel Angelina guided the group of former invaders from the sanctuary back to the field virtue where the portal home awaited them.

The group walked down the massive set of stairs and set off down the path Laharl in front of his group with the young Archangel guiding them Etna and Flonne behind them with the defenders of the earth bring up the tail end.

It was a silent walk at first before Angelina spoke up, "I compliment you on your fighting prowess young overlord none has held their own in battle with the Seraph in almost 10,000 years." she pronounced Laharl smirked at this "What would you expect some kind of good always triumphs over evil crap? That we'd run away?" he asked. Angelina chuckled softly. "I do not recall saying demons were evil king Laharl." she stated "I believe the Seraph is right there is potential for common ground but both Angels and Demons have many old prejudices to move beyond first. Perhaps then our differences can be put aside and we live in peace" she said.

Etna made a throw-up gesture behind the Archangels back 'you disagree young one?" the angel asked Etna jumped slightly 'How the hell did she see that?' Etna wondered to herself. "No but you make it sound so corny" she said the angel simply laughed. "And you Flonne?" she asked kindly Flonne who had been walking eyes downcast her thoughts on the home she would soon be leaving behind perhaps for the last time. "I um I think you're right that we can all live in peace someday I've seen the good in the hearts of demons maybe someday we can all be friends" she said Laharl let out a huffed at this but there was no real anger in it.

The group made it to the portal without incident, Laharl was about to lead everyone through the gateway back home to the netherworld he stopped abruptly when he noticed Flonne had stopped a few feet back. "Hey, you coming or not?" Ha asked the now Fallen Angel. "I um..." she stumbled over her words. "Is it alright if I speak with Master Angelina first?" the ex-Angel asked Laharl rolled his eyes. "Fine get the goodbyes over with," he said shortly.

"Master Angelina I have a favor to ask of you," Flonne said. "I'll pass on any message you have for them" the young Archangel replied anticipation the ex Angels request, "Thank you, Master Angelina, I may never see them again it would mean so much," she said gratefully. Flonne was happy to know that her friends would at least get to know what had happened and why she had to leave.

As the two spoke Laharl and Etna waited by the Gateway Laharl growing more impatient by the minute. "What's taking her so long?" he grumbled to himself Etna rolled her eyes. "He's come this far and still acts self-centered brat." she thought with a sigh. Flonne thanked the Archangel before rejoining the other she spoke to the young overlord Angelina was too far away to hear the girls' words, but she could see what Flonne did...

She pulled Laharl into a tight hug the young demon's face insanely turned bright red his eyes blazing "What the hell you love freak!" he yelled loud enough for all of Celestia to hear. "Laharl and Flonne up in a tree..." Etna began in a singsong voice. "ETNA!" Laharl roared nearly deafening everyone still arguing the group steeped thought the gateway.

"Thank you for your service to Celestia and safe journey," The Archangel said, waving goodbye to the group as the steeped though the gateway. Sealing the nexus gate Angelina returned to the sanctuary to inform the Seraph Flonne and her friends had returned safely to the netherworld.
