They kept fighting, keeping the Sky clean. Now allowing him to get anywhere near killing anyone nor allowing anyone to get close enough to kill him. They would do their best to not allow Tsuna to cry.

They had thought they had been doing a great job; Ryohei had thought they'd been doing an EXTREME job...

But, they were to careless, just one time. Just one. Freaking. Time.

Just one damn time that they were too careless. And Ryohei blamed himself, because it had been his turn, and now Tsuna was crying.

And he didn't know what to do besides stand there and hold him, and let Tsuna cry his eyes out.

Ryohei let his eyes wander down to the dead body and he winced at the angle the head was bent at.

It was because of Tsuna's personality towards others that made him wish that there had been no mafia, no Vongola, and that they had just continued to be regular, high school students.

But no, the mafia existed, Vongola existed. And he was one of the Sky's six Guardians.

But right now, he didn't feel like much of a Guardian. He felt more like a failure. A failure to someone he was supposed to protect. But he failed, and now Tsuna's bloody, mostly with someone else's blood. And he's crying, and shaking, and babbling incoherently.

He can't stand it, he wants to do something but he doesn't know what to do. He wanted to see Tsuna happy again, he didn't want to see him cry so miserably.

He could feel the uncomfortable sensation in his throat, in his eyes, in his jaw, in his chest. He clutched Tsuna just slightly tighter and stared down at him, finally to make eye contact instead of avoiding it.

"Tsuna. It was extremely unavoidable. I'm sorry." Ryohei muttered quietly, kissing his tears away. Tsuna only hiccuped and clutched at Ryohei's shirt with both hands, as if it were a life line, determined not to let go.

"N...nii-san... I... Oh God..." Tsuna cried, burying his face into Ryohei's shirt again. Ryohei swallowed hard and picked him up, reverse piggy-back style. Slowly, he walked out of there, carrying his boss. His Sky. His friend. His companion. His future.

The future he was to protect. Not because he was ordered to. But because he wanted to. Because he needed to. Because Tsuna needed him.

In the future, he'd make sure that whatever it took, Tsuna wouldn't cry anymore. Crying was not Tsuna. Happyness was Tsuna. Timidness was Tsuna. Panicking was Tsuna.

Crying was not.

He'd fight those tears.

How he'd wished Tsuna was a child, so he could tell him, "We'll all live forever! None of us are going to die!" and he'd believe it, because he would be young, back when one believed everything.

But now, all he could tell Tsuna, "We'll protect you... I will protect you. So don't cry anymore."

And they left the building, Tsuna clutching Ryohei, Ryohei carrying Tsuna.

He was going to protect him, he would not allow anyone to make Tsuna cry ever again. He swore his oath, with an incredible sense of guilt as he listened to Tsuna finally calm down.

He was going to protect him even after he died, no matter what.

Because Tsuna is the Sky. He is the future. But he's also a human being. A friend. A son. A godfather to Kyoko's and Haru's children. But most of all...

Tsuna is everything to him. He belonged to Tsuna, he was going to protect him, no matter what it took.

He was going to get rid of those miserable tears.
