Chapter 49
The conference went well, at least that was what Kitten thought. Dave had stood up on several occasions, threatening Raw members, but was about it. That was all that was needed from the big man. It made her smile, watching the Animal puff out his chest and torment people with his physique. he was definitely in class of his own.
And Kitten was proud.
After the conference, the couple said their goodbyes to everyone. Shane and John were the last to see them go.
"Hey we should chill sometime, if that's all right i mean." Cena said giving her a bear hug. He shook Dave's hand afterward, thinking it wouldn't be wise to forget the big man.
"Yeah, we should." Kitten answered with a smile. "I think that would be awesome. When you get a day off or something hit us up."
"You got it, see you guys around." The Massachusetts native said, waiving as they walked away. Dave set his arm around his lady's shoulders, dwarfing her instantly. Kitten laughed and hugged his waist in return, enjoying the warmth he brought to her.
"You guys headed out then?" Shane said upon seeing them going to the main doors.
"Yeah, Kitten and I are getting a bit hungry. You wanna join?" Dave asked, shaking his hand.
"Nah, I got to get back to the hotel," the company heir laughed, shaking his head. "The wife wants me to call after the conference."
"Ah yeah, smart man by listening to her," Kitten giggled.
"I was just in the dog house this morning for not calling. I usually call home first thing in the morning, before the kids head off to school."
"Oh, that will do it. Well we're not gonna keep you then. Good seeing you Shane." Dave said nodding to him. Kitten grabbed his hand, holding it as they walked out of the conference room and into the lobby.
"You know what restaurant you want to eat at? there are probably some places still open with buffets?" she asked.
Dave shook his head, "No not really, what do you feel like eating?"
"Honestly, pizza sounds really good right now."
"Then we'll find a pizzeria somewhere close by, then head to the hotel."
"Ah, sweet." she laughed, "My stomach is growling already."
Just as the couple were heading out the door, a man's voice called out from behind them. Kitten turned around to see her friend Tyler running towards them. She instantly smiled and let go of Dave's hand. she took two steps towards the man and hugged him, laughing when he spun her around before setting her down gently.
"Hey Kitten, haven't seen you in a while." the man smiled. "God you look amazing."
"Not too shabby yourself, Ty. How ya been all these years?"
"Pretty good, pretty good. Looks like you have it better though."
"Hard work babe" she laughed.
"And legs like yours," Tyler laughed back. Kitten smacked his shoulder, gasping at his notion.
"Don't be jealous."
"I know, green was never my best color." his eyes shot up to the large figure coming up behind Kitten. Maybe not my color, but someone wears it better than i...
Kitten instantly recognized the animal's mood. "Oh, this is Dave, my boyfriend. Dave, this is Tyler, the old friend I was telling you about."
The two men shook hands, Dave more reluctant than Tyler.
"Nice to meet you, Dave"
"Like wise, Kitty here has told me quite a few things about you."
"Really, hope all good things."
"Not in the slightest." Dave smiled.
Kitten knew tension in Dave when she saw it, but right now, he was holding on by a thread. She had to stifle a laugh, catching Tyler's face.
"He doesn't mean that, he's pulling your leg." Kitten elbowed Dave's ribs lightly. "He's got a twisted sense of humor."
"You don't say?" Tyler laughed. "Nah, no worries, it's hard not being aggressive when you got a lady like you on the arm."
Kitten blinked in surprise, not expecting to compliment. She shook her head, shaking the feeling of embarrassment that waved over her skin. As always, such a charmer...
"Anyways, i was hoping we could catch up and what not."
"Yeah, I'd love to." Kitten smiled. "I miss out talks."
"You mean our gossiping." the reporter laughed.
"You gossiped?" Dave asked turning his attention to his lady. "Kitten, i would have never thought."
"Shut up Dave, i don't gossip."
"No but you definitely like listening to it."
Kitten stuck her tongue out at Tyler, earning her a good laugh from the man.
"Haven't changed much, have you?"
"Nope, not gonna either."
"Stubborn and beautiful." Tyler shook his head and turned to Dave, extending a hand out. "Take care of this one, big man. You're gonna have your hand's full though, just a warning."
Dave nodded, taking the man's hand. "Yeah, don't I know it."
"I got to get going though,"
"Awe, already?" she whined. "Fine, but give me your contacts so we can chat."
"You bet, don't wanna lose you again." he flipped through his small notepad to tear out an empty sheet of paper. he ripped that in two, handing her one and giving her a pen.
"Write down your contact and then we'll swap."
"God we're such high school buddies." Kitten replied, doing as he asked. They exchanged papers and hugged each other a moment later.
"See ya around, Kitten." Tyler winked. "And stay out of trouble" he pointed at her as he walked away. He gave Dave a nod before heading back into the conference room.
"I don't like him."
"Oh hush, you don't like anybody of the make species when it comes to them being in contact with me."
"Damn, right." the Animal replied, nodding his head.
Kitten could only laugh up at him. She turned to kiss his left portion of his chest, earning her a chuckle from the big man. She hugged him tightly a moment later, feeling his arms wrap around her small frame. She loved it when he held her closely, his strength entirely present in his large physique. it was intoxicating.
"Let's get something to eat, now."
"Yeah, you drive." Kitten replied, walking our of his embrace and out the door.
"Where are my keys?"
she turned to smile back at him, his keys swinging about her finger. "Come and get them.'
