You may have remembered or missed the wild speculation about Stellar's belt. That was a year ago, but as expected it was never explained in the series at all. However, here I provide you 'a disenchanting plothole of plotholes filling one-shot' concerning her belt. Cooked up at 2 AM.

The Origin of Stellar's Belt

By MidnightReverie

He stumbled upon a box on the floor, which appeared to contain her clothing. On top there was a piece that grabbed his attention, it struck the boy familiar. It never occurred to Shinn before that Stellar and he wore the exact same belt. You may mark this as not important, but this was generally worn by elite ZAFT soldiers like himself. He had accepted without thinking that that kind of belt was exclusive for soldiers of their ranking. She wore a smaller size the same as Lunamaria's. Shinn wondered how Stellar got hold of the ZAFT belt and asked her about it.

"Stellar got it from the doctor." She said, not being very helpful, before withdrawing to sleep. Then he was shooed out the room by the nurses.

Shinn sighed and was still curious, but decided against asking Lunamaria about it. She'd surely question him why a person like him would be so interested in clothing. That would be silly. He was also wary of interrupting Rey, who seemed busy on the computer with very important stuff he didn't know or hardly cared about (as in weapons of mass destruction, random scheming, emailing Gil...).

So then he idled in their room for a minute, before coming close to a decision. The other boy paid little attention to his roommate, but Shinn's curiosity over the mystery of the belt reached a peek over time, and only increased by the second. Such things could hold his attention span, curiously.

"...Shinn, what is it?" The blond boy asked, slightly irritated.

"Eh..?" His trail of thoughts was interrupted.

"I can't concentrate if you're tapping your foot."

Shinn immediately stopped and blushed a little at being caught (again).

"Well?" Rey said, waiting for an explanation, although he sounded uninterested.

"…I wondered how you can see where a belt comes from."

"...a clothing piece?"

"Yes, I asked you since you seem the type to know such stuff." Said the guy without fashion sense.

"..." There was another long silence.

"There should be a label attached to the inside, like in every other clothe. Size, type, manufacturer and country of production should be specified." Rey answered dully as if it concerned a mobile suit.

Shinn instantly detached his belt to check if there was any. Rey was right; there was indeed one, a small white label he never bothered to check (Well why would he?). He read nothing unusual, still curious. Then he noticed the text in a very small font. He held the belt closer to his eyes, and read, only to be petrified in horror:
