Author's notes: This story takes place two years after the events of the Fourth Shinobi World War. Meaning Naruto is 19 while Shizune is about 33. Also, beginning with this story, Shizune's figure has become more feminine post-timeskip similar to her Road to Ninja counterpart.

~Flashback~
The victory celebration for the Shinobi Alliance was under way in the Land of Hot Water and everyone was having a great time. All of which led to the eventual climax of the Fourth War when Sasuke turned on Obito, literally stabbing him in the back with his Chidori, allowing Naruto to land the killing blow by decapitating him with a powerful Truth-Seeking Ball sword variant. The two of them then teamed up to take down Sasuke's demented ancestor before each of them took the two crazed Uchiha's eyes for safekeeping, with Sasuke taking Madara's eyes, and Naruto taking Obito's eyes.
With their new dojutsu, the two of them preformed a completely harmless version of the Rinne Rebirth, which revived most of the Shinobi Alliance along with other individuals such as Pakura and the former jinchuuriki who each had chakra imprints of their former respective jinchiiriki sealed within them by Naruto.
Naruto was the life of the party at the victory celebration with everyone who saw him congratulating him and voicing their belief that he would become Hokage soon. As Naruto wandered around conversing with his shinobi allies, he didn't notice Shizune watching him from afar.
Shizune smiled at Naruto, while thinking about his countless acts of heroism in saving the Five Great Shinobi Nations. Shizune had always admired Naruto since he reminded her of his parents Minato and Kushina, who Shizune had greatly admired and respected as a child. Now seeing what a fine young man he had become in his own right; she couldn't help but fall for him.
"He really is something isn't he?" Shizune heard someone say, and she was snapped out of her musings to see Anko smirking at her.

"I don't know what you're talking about Anko, I think you need to stop drinking so much." Shizune unconvincingly said and Anko's smirk only grew as she turned to look at Naruto, who was currently engaged in a conversation with Killer B.
"You know Naruto-kun has grown into quite the looker these days. How a handsome young stud like him is still single is anyone's guess. Maybe I should go over and say hello since you're not interested, maybe he and I can spend a night together." Anko suggestively said and Shizune glared at Anko before putting a hand out to stop Anko.

The blonde-haired Sage sighed and reflected on his trip with Shizune up to this point and how it had already been a vacation to remember, and he closed his eyes as he leaned back against the edge of the onsen.

Which I'll admit, it had been awhile since I had seen that episode when dracostephen91 pitched it to me, and I had to go back and watch it on FUNimation just to get the plotline for this story down. But once I had it, the story began to come together quickly.
Also, I have to give a special shoutout to my amazing mentor Raptorcloak for his help in pitching the idea for Anko being the catalyst for Shizune and Naruto getting together, as he felt that it was something that Anko would do.
Also, some of you may have noticed the retconned story with Sasuke included in the flashback of the war. That was actually something I've been working on for quite some time, figuring out a way to retcon many of the things that happened with Sasuke's character in the later half of Shippuden and casting him as more of an anti-hero type character in my stories going forward (which I've already hinted at in previous works of mine with subtle changes in Sasuke's character).
In truth, I had a little help in coming up with this new retconned story for Sasuke. I actually got the idea from watching the anime Kill la Kill and seeing the shocking plot twist of Episode 17, where Satsuki Kiriyuin rebels against her own mother and literally stabs her in the back, revealing that she's been working against her the whole time.
And Sasuke's not the only character I intend on doing that to, as I also intend on giving Sakura's character a bit of a face-lift as well in future stories, making her more assertive and confident as well as a true badass like her mentor Tsunade (which again, I've previously hinted at in previous works of mine involving Sakura).
Concerning Shizune having a bustier figure in this story, that was something I had always planned on doing with Shizune given that her mentor Tsunade and her fellow medic apprentice Sakura each went through a similar development post-timeskip. So my logic with that is this: If those two can have that type of development, why can't Shizune have it as well?
I thought it was fun to open the story with Shizune and Naruto having sex with one another and it was actually my mentor Raptorcloak's suggestion as it was something I'd never done before and he felt that no one would expect it, and I gotta say he was right as always. It was a nice change of pace that I thought made the story a lot more fun to write.
Now I want to take a moment to address the biggest elephant in the room, my extended absence from FanFiction through the year since the pandemic began. If there's one thing I've always been with you guys, it's up front and honest, so I'm going to continue being that way right now. I haven't exactly been holding up well since this pandemic started.
I've been very up front and personal with you guys about my history with my personal demons that I've been fighting with for years now, well I've kinda regressed back into a lot of my old habits recently and I've been battling with a lot of my old demons as well as frequent bouts of depression.
Bottom line is, I've just been in a really bad place as of late, which is why I haven't been uploading new stories most of the year since all of this began. But I can tell you guys this much, I do NOT, nor do I have any plans on ever leaving FanFiction. I love this site and I love you guys way too much, and as long as I still have people who are supporting me, I will be writing on this site!
