My Hero
Disclaimer: I only own the OC's!

I don't have an eye catching title or summery. I'm not good at summeries. Ash has the same design as he does in Pokemon XYZ, Gary has the same design as he does in Pokemon Black & White and the others look like they have before. Of course everyone is now adults, and of course the adults in the series are older.
I finally saw Detective Pikachu! And this popped into my head afterwards
I hope you like it!

It rained, and rained and rained for the whole day. Dawn is currently standing in front of the fireplace and looking at a row of pictures of her friend, Ash Ketchum.
Piplup, who is in her arms, let out a sad chirp as he too looked at the row of pictures.
"Thank you so much for coming."
The voice of Ash's mother - Delia, thanked from somewhere behind Dawn.
"Of course!" Brock's voice came next, he turned and wrapped his arm around Dawn to pull her close. "Are you ready, Dawn?" He asked gently.
"Yeah, I wanna go home." She is still looking at the pictures of Ash. Brock looks at Piplup.
"Piplup, you ready?"
The Pokemon looked up at him and nodded.
When Brock removed his arm, Dawn felt cold until Brock placed her coat on her shoulders. Piplup jumped onto Brock's shoulder so Dawn could put her arms through the sleeves of her coat, once the coat was zipped up, Brock wrapped his arm around her again. "Let's go home." He said softly before he guided her out where it was still raining hard.
Delia walked over to the fireplace and looked at the pictures of her son, her eyes shined with tears. A hand landed gently on her shoulder causing her to jump and turn to see Professor Oak standing behind her.
"I still keep expecting him to walk through that door." She whispered brokenly.
"Me too Delia, me too." Professor Oak nods. A noise on the second floor catches his attention, then turns back around. "How is she doing?"
"As best as can be expected." Delia answered with a sigh. "She misses him, just like we all do."
"Um, excuse me." The voice had the two turn to see Shauna standing nearby. "Mrs. Ketchum, would you mind if we talked to her?" She asked, a little nervously.
"Please, Mrs. K?" May begged as she stood on Shauna's left side.
"Me too!" Bonnie cried as she suddenly joined Shauna's right side. "Please, please, please?" She begs as she holds Dedenne in her arms.
Delia smiled a little. "I don't think it'll hurt." She gestured to the stairs. "She's been upstairs all day."
Both Shauna and Bonnie smile. "Thank you, Mrs. K!" Shauna, still smiling turns to Bonnie who's also smiling.
"Let's go!" The youngest exclaimed.
Professor Oak and Delia watch as the two hurry to the stairs. Just as the two disappeared up the stairs, Gary Oak walked towards the two, with Tracey at his side.
"Gramps, we're heading back to the lab." Gary said. "It's getting late, and we still haven't checked on Ash's Pokemon."
Professor Oak nods. "Right." He nods, then remembers. "Right!" He repeats as if suddenly remembering. "We need to make sure that they're ok."
"It's ok, Professor." Tracey reassure with a smile. "We'll take care of it."
Gary nods. "Yeah." He turns to leave, but pauses and looks around. The house is now mostly vacant incept for Clemont, Max, and Cilan who are in a room and fiddling with a science machine. Clemont's Chespin, and Luxray, along with Cilan's Pansage stood around the three. Chespin stood on Luxray's head, while Pansage stood on the table as the three Pokemon watch the experement.
Gary folds his arms. "Now that will never change." At his comment, the science experement starts to smoke before, before it suddenly explodes. Clemont, his Pokemon, Max, Cilan and his Pokemon are now covered in black.
Tracey laughs a little. "That's the truth."
Gary looks around again. "Where's Shauna?" He asks with worry as he turned back to face his grandfather.
"She along with Bonnie and May went up to see Serena." Professor Oak answered, then clamped his hand on his grandson's shoulder. "Don't worry, I'll bring her home."

Shauna slowly opened the door to left of the hallway. Serena's Pokemon - Sylveon, Pancham, and Delphox who had evolved from Braixan, all three looked up when the door slowly opened.
Shauna slowly poked her head in the room, followed by Bonnie, and lastly by May.
Serena continued to ly in the bed, her back to them. Dedenne jumped out of Bonnie's arms and ran further into the room where it now had a conversation with the other pokemon in the room.
Shauna pushed the door all the way open before walking in. "Serena? Why don't you come downstairs?" She offers, just before they hear an explosion from downstairs, she sweatdrops. "On second thought, maybe not." She quickly decides.
"You know what you need?" May asked as she walked around Shauna. "A shopping spree!" She smiled brightly. "It'll help with the healing."
Serena suddenly turned and shot up so she was sitting in the bed. "I don't want to heal!" She cried with a tear stained face. "I want Ash!" She started to sob. "I want him back!" She choked out, looking down at her lap while her fists clutched and uncluched the blanket.
Sylveon let out a cry as she walked up to her trainer. Delphox, and Pancham also let out a cry.
"Ok, no shopping!" Shauna agreed. "But." She hesitated. "You do know you have to make an appearance, right? We haven't seen you since this morning."
It was quiet for a long time, the only thing you can hear is the harsh rain from outside as the wind would knock the rain into the windows.
Serena let out a shaky breath as Pancham laid his head in her lap and look up at her. "I'm sorry." She apologizes, gently petting Pancham, then looked up at her two friends. "After having him as a friend for so long, and now his."- She quickly trailed off to look away, but looked back at them. "And seeing all of you all together, it's hard to swallow and be around."
May walked over and knelt down to look at her friend. "We miss him too. But Ash would." She trailed off as her own voice caught in her throat, and Bonnie ran over to the three older women.
Shauna walked over and sat on her knees next to May. "Ash would want us to continue on." She whipped at her own tears. "The world is still in mourning too. Ash Ketchum is the Champion after all."
Serena continued to look down at her lap, still petting Pancham. "We could've helped him." Her voice is broken. "Why didn't he let us help him when Team Rocket."-
"Because Ash is Ash." Bonnie answered with a lousy shrug. "He loves to jump into things without a proper plan." She explained as May nods.
"And sometimes without thinking straight!" May added.
Serena turns to the window to look out at the still harsh rain. "That sounds like him." She said sadly as she watched the rain.

Sometime later, Shauna walked into her living room and sat down on the couch with a heavy sigh.
"Hey, there's my girl!" Gary said cheerfully when he walked into the room, but it softened when he saw her expression. He walks over to the couch and plopped down next to her. "How'd it go with Serena?" He asked as he wrapped his arm around her.
"She wants him back." She sadly answered simply. "Like we all do."
"Babe, come here." He pulled her closer and shifted to sit sideways in his lap, her arms wrapped around his waist as she snuggled into him as tears slid down her cheeks and soaked into his shirt.
Gary held her tightly as he gently rocked her. "If Ash wasn't dead, I'd kill him! Then I'd kill him again!" As he gently rocks Shauna and kisses the side of her head. "I'm going after those bastards." He vows with his eyes narrowed.
His three Pokemon popped out of their pokeballs to reveal Blastoise, Umbreon, and Electivire appeared. The three looked at their trainer.
"What do you say boys?" Gary asked them, the three Pokemon let out roars in agreement.
