5One afternoon at Hexside School of Magic and Demonics, classes had been dismissed for the day, and Amity was taking some stuff out of her lockers, and as she did so, she thought about Luz, who she had a massive crush on.
"After our first few encounters, I wasn't exactly a fan of Luz", Amity said, "but now that I've gotten to know her, well, I just can't stop thinking about her."
Once Amity had gotten her stuff, she walked outside and was greeted by Edric and Emita.
"Hey, sis", Edric said.
"Oh, hey", Amity said.
Edric and Emira could tell that Amity had been thinking about Luz, and, after eavesdropping on her previously, knew about her crush.
"Feeling lovestruck, we see", Emira said.
"Are you thinking about you and Luz kissing", Edric asked.
Edric began making out with himself, and Amity's face went red with embarrassment.
"Shut up", Amity said, "it's none of your business."
Edric and Emira liked teasing Amity about her crush on Luz, but they were still happy for her, and as she walked indignantly away, they thought to themselves.
"Our little sister's already found the one she loves", Emira said.
"I know", Edric said, "it makes me so happy."
Before long, Edric was crying into Emira's chest, much to the latter's annoyance.
"Oh, pull yourself together, Ed", Emira said.
The next day, Amity was eating lunch in the cafeteria, when Luz walked over and sat next to her.
"Hey, Amity", Luz said.
Amity became very very nervous when she saw Luz.
"Oh, Luz, what are you doing here", Amity asked.
"Eating lunch", Luz said.
"Well, obviously", Amity said, "this is a cafeteria, we're supposed to eat lunch in here."
Amity laughed awkwardly, and Luz looked at her with a confused look on her face.
"Is, uh, this seat taken", Luz asked.
"No, no, of course not", Amity said, "have a seat."
"Okie-dokie, then", Luz said.
Luz sat down next to Amity and began eating her lunch, and after a while, she spoke to Amity.
"Hey, Amity", Luz said, "I wanted to ask you something."
"Okay", Amity said, "what is it?"
"Well, there's this restaurant in town that I heard about", Luz said, "and I was wondering if you wanted to come with me to try it?"
This made Amity do a spit take with some milk she was drinking.
"Seriously", Amity asked.
"I mean, if you don't want to, that's fine", Luz said, "I was just thinking..."
"Oh no, I'd love to go with you", Amity said.
"Really", Luz asked.
"Of course", Amity said, "it'll be just you and me, eating together, kind of like a date."
Amity quickly caught herself.
"I mean, not like a date, date", Amity said, "'cause, why would we do something like that?"
Amity's cheeks went red.
"Um, okay then", Luz said, "meet me after school tomorrow, and we'll head over."
"S-sure", Amity said, "see you then."
Luz walked away with her empty lunch tray, and Amity squealed in excitement.
"This is it", Amity thought, "this just might be my first date with Luz."
That afternoon, Amity was in training with Lilith, practicing a water spell.
"Now", Lilith said, "use the spell to put out this campfire over here."
But Amity was too busy thinking about her upcoming dinner with Luz to concentrate, and when she drew the spell circle, she accidentally sprayed Lilith.
"Stop", Lilith shouted, "stop!"
Amity snapped out of her trace, and was alarmed to see Lilith getting sprayed by water.
"Uh-oh", Amity said.
Amity stopped the spell and walked over to Lilith, who was now soaking wet.
"Amity Blight, what is the meaning of this", Lilith asked.
"Sorry", Amity said, "I guess I was distracted."
"Distracted", Lilith asked, "by what?"
Amity thought it best that Lilith not know about her dinner with her (Lilith's) sister's student, so she decided to keep it to herself.
"Nothing, nothing", Amity said.
"Well, you can't just get distracted like this when casting spells", Lilith said, "you need to concentrate."
"Yes ma'am, I'm sorry, ma'am", Amity said.
"Now then", Lilith said, "let's try it again."
That night, Amity had a dream where she was sitting at a table with Luz at a fancy restaurant, and they were both wearing their outfits from Grom.
"Wow, Luz", Amity said, "I can't believe you brought me to the fanciest restaurant in all the Boiling Isles."
"Nothing's too good for you, Amity", Luz said.
Amity blushed, and a waiter walked over and set a plate of spaghetti in front of them.
"Spaghetti for two", the waiter said.
"Thank you, my good man", Luz said.
Luz tipped the waiter, and she and Amity began eating.
"Mmm, this is good spaghetti", Amity said.
"Yes", Luz said, "yes it is."
The two began eating spaghetti in a similar fashion to Lady and the Tramp, but before they could perform the infamous kiss, the dream was cut short by a screaming noise, and Amity woke up to find that the noise was coming from her alarm clock, much to her frustration.
"Oh, come on", Amity said.
Amity slammed her fist onto the clock, which made it stop screaming.
"Ow", the clock said.
As Amity got ready for the day, she soon forgot about the clock waking her up in the middle of her dream and went back to being excited about eating with Luz, and she went downstairs, she happily greeted Edric and Emira.
"Morning Edric, morning Emira", Amity said, "how are my favorite older siblings?"
Edric and Emira were very confused.
"Amity's never happy to see us", Edric said.
"Who are you, and what have you done with our little sister", Emira asked.
But Amity didn't hear her, and happily ate breakfast, after which she walked out of the mansion and skipped along the way to school without a care in the world, which caught the attention of Willow and Gus.
"You see that too, right, Gus", Willow asked.
"You mean Amity skipping", Gus asked.
"Yup", Willow said.
"I do", Gus said, "I don't think I've ever seen her skip before."
"Me neither", Willow said, "whatever's driven Amity to become so happy that she's skipping?"
Amity spent the whole day thinking about eating with Luz, and eventually, after school ended, she met up with Luz in front of the school.
"Hey, Luz", Amity said.
"Amity, you made it", Luz said, "so, you ready to go?"
"I was born ready", Amity said.
"Alright, then", Luz said, "follow me."
Amity followed Luz towards their location.
"This is it", Amity thought, "my first date with Luz."
They walked down the road to the restaurant Luz was talking about.
"This is so exciting", Amity said, "I can't wait to see what you had in mind."
Luz stopped walking, but Amity kept going.
"Is is five-star", Amity asked, "I don't mind if it isn't, four-star's okay."
She then noticed that Luz wasn't following her.
"Oh, you've stopped", Amity said.
"Ta-da", Luz said, "welcome to Freak E. Funtimes!"
Amity noticed that it was a pizza/arcade resturaunt for children.
"King told me all about this place, and I thought it sounded like fun", Luz said, "I also thought maybe it would be more fun if I went with a friend."
Amity felt a little dismayed about Luz calling her a friend.
"Yeah, sure", Amity said.
"Come on", Luz said, "let's go inside."
Amity followed Luz inside, feeling rather disappointed.
"This isn't what I was expecting at all", Amity thought.
Soon, the two were sitting at a table near the resturaunt's animatronic band, the Freaky Funsters, which consisted of a Minotaur, cyclops, vampire, and werewolf, and Amity was looking away from them as best as she could.
"What's wrong, Amity", Luz asked.
"Creepy", Amity said, "those animatronics are creepy."
"Oh, come on", Luz said, "they're not that bad."
Luz listened to the song they were playing.
"So run around and scream and shout, 'cause it's time for us to all freak out", the Minotaur sang.
"And they play some real catchy tunes", Luz said.
Soon, the waitress arrived with their food.
"Here you go", the waitress said, "our special cheese pizza."
Amity unimpressively looked at the pizza.
"Cheese pizza", Amity asked.
Luz grabbed a slice and began eating it.
"Oh yeah", Luz said, "this is the good stuff."
But Amity didn't think so, and just sighed.
"You gonna have some", Luz asked.
"No thanks, I'm good", Amity said.
"Oh, alright then", Luz said, "more for me, I guess."
After eating their pizza, Luz and Amity went over to the restaurant's indoor playground.
"Wow, an indoor playground", Luz said, "I'm too big to play in one of these back home."
"Are you now", Amity asked.
"Yes", Luz said, "it's been too long since I've played in one."
After taking their shoes off, Luz and Amity were crawling around inside the tunnels of the playground, and Amity had her nose pinched shut due to the awful smell of the tunnels.
"Oh, man", Amity said, "it really stinks in here."
"You're right", Luz said, "I never really noticed how bad these things smelled when I was a kid."
Soon, they stopped in front of a slide.
"Oh boy", Luz said, "looks like it's slide time."
Luz slid down the slide, and Amity sighed with disappointment.
"I can't believe I got all excited for this", Amity said.
Amity slid down the slide with a deadpanned look on her face and landed in the ball pit, and Luz walked over to her.
"Isn't this fun", Luz asked.
"Yeah, sure", Amity said.
Amity got out of the ball pit, but when Luz tried to get out, she began to sink.
"Hey, what's going on", Luz asked.
Amity noticed this and rushed over to Luz.
"Hang tight, Luz", Amity said, "I've got you!"
Amity reached her hand out, and once Luz had grabbed it, she pulled her out of the ball pit.
"Phew", Luz said, "thanks, Amity."
Amity was blushing because after Luz had been pulled out, she landed in her lap.
"Anytime", Amity said, "gotta be careful though, that ball pit is bottomless."
"I know", Luz said, "how deep are these things, anyways?"
"No, seriously, that ball pit literally has no bottom", Amity said, "nothing but balls for miles and miles downward."
"Wow", Luz said.
"I remember when I was little and nearly sank into that ball pit", Amity said.
"Really", Luz asked.
"Yes", Amity said, "I had my sixth birthday here."
"Cool", Luz said, "I guess it must be nice to be here again after so long."
"Yeah, I suppose it is", Amity said.
"Now then", Luz said, "wanna hit the arcade?"
"Sure, why not", Amity said.
Luz and Amity went into the arcade and spent their time playing all sorts of games they had in there, and when the time came for them to pick their prizes from the prize counter, all Amity could get was some pieces of candy.
"I wish I had won more tickets", Amity said, "then maybe I could've gotten something good."
"Excuse me", Luz said.
Amity turned around and saw that Luz had spent all her tickets on a giant stuffed Cerebrus.
"I'd like you to have this", Luz said.
"But you bought that using all your tickets", Amity said, "are you sure you want to just give it to me?"
"Of course", Luz said, "just doing something nice for you."
Amity blushed.
"Wow, thanks, Luz", Amity said, "that means a lot."
"Anything for you", Luz said.
Later, Amity arrived back home, and was greeted by Edric and Emira.
"Hey, Mittens", Edric said, "where have you been?"
"Oh, just spending some time with Luz", Amity said.
This earned an "ooh" from her siblings.
"Did you two see a movie together", Emira asked.
"Or go watch the sunset from the cliff and make out", Edric asked.
Edric began making out with himself again, much to Emira's annoyance.
"Oh, knock it off", Emira said, "that's getting old."
"We had a wonderful time full of details that concern neither of you", Amity said, "now, if you need me, I'll be in my room."
Amity walked upstairs, and Edric and Emira took notice of the stuffed Cerebrus.
"What did those two get up to, exactly", Edric asked.
"Search me", Emira said.
In her room, Amity was lying against her Cerebrus plush eating some of her candy.
"It's not what I imagined", Amity said, "but it was still an amazing first date, even if it wasn't technically a date."
