Chapter 8 : Roasted Turkey? Cockroach? Holy Crap, its a Gundam.

I have planned this fight for a while. Let's see how this goes.

"You lowly insect. You have truly made Riser mad. Riser will burn you to ashes."
Yup, Hulk Mad and all that crap.
"Wow Boss, you were right. He really said that." Meredith comments from behind me. Okay now that was just me guessing but this idiot was really that predictable.
Right now, I want to concentrate on taking him out without suffering any damage. The rewards are not something I would like to miss.
"Everyone get back, I would like to fight this myself. Do . Not . Interfere . until I say so. This is a fight between me and him, also don't get caught in the collateral."
I do have some plans for this part though. I would like to keep my Fire God Slayer Magic a secret. I don't know what kind of trouble that will attract if they find out that I know specific magic to kill Gods of all beings.
I have my plans for my PoD too. So that leaves only.

Please Note that to unlock the Balance Breaker you have to upgrade the Sacred Gear to (Expert Level) and every level requires Level x 1 number of upgrades to reach the next level.
Apparently the last update needed for Balance Breaker was to complete the Expert Level. Then I have to select the Balance Breaker myself. Sub-species are such a pain in the neck to decide. Tsubaki's Mirror Alice's Balance Breaker was summoning characters from Alice in wonderland. It reminded me of the reality marble of Alice from Type/Moon a bit. So much potential.
I need proper time to devote to that. It is too precious to waste.
No to mention the number of reflections required for the update is insane right now. It is truly grinding in the purest form.
Getting to Master Level is going to be a major pain in the ass. What is even there in the Master level. Maybe a Juggernaut Drive equivalent to Mirror Alice?
How would that even look like? Who knows.
I step aside using Shadow Walk dodging a small barrage of fireballs. Not that it would hurt me but the Phenex also use wind magic. Who knows if it will cause damage to me? I don't want to risk my quest by trying my luck here.
"Will you stop running around pest. Stand in a place and face your end." shouts out a certain chicken who doesn't even know that he is about to be cooked.
"Why so chicken guy, is it too much for you? I thought that chicken blood is supposed to be a make you energetic. Wasn't there a saying about that?"
"You plebian, Riser will turn you to ashes." yup the flames are increasing in power. Not that it would make any different. It will also reduce the chance of him using wind magic. Good for me actually, not that making fun of him is great as it is. I am really having fun here.
He throws a five meter radius fireball at me. Fucker has no creativity. Just going around throwing fireballs and expecting the work to be done. No direction, no concentrating the fire or explosiveness. Such a waste of great power.
"Mirror Alice"
A beautiful mirror appears in front of me and absorbs the fire till nothing is left. I am using the store power of Mirror Alice. It is an excellent and versatile power.
"Was that supposed to do something chicken guy? If so, then I am waiting." taunting him to make him angrier and more prone to mistakes.
"I was really waiting for something better than that to be honest. After all that chicken shit you were spewing about Riser this and Riser that. Who is Riser anyway? You have been talking about him since the first time we met and I haven't even seen him yet. So where is this Riser Idiot?"
"You are talking to Riser, you fool." another giant fireball in making while he himself seems to be on fire due to his anger. Too bad for him I am going to destroy him completely. For that, he needs to get angrier.
"What the….wait YOU are Riser? Why in the nine hells would you talk in third person. Isn't that what deranged people and kids too young to know proper speech do. Then again looking at you, I can understand."
"Shut up, shut up, shut up you commoner. This is how high-born royalty speak. You low class scum will never understand this." he barks as he throws that fireball at me with all his power. Observe shows that he is at 37% of his MP.
"Mirror Alice"
I make another mirror appear in front of me as fireball is about to strike. The entire mass of fire disappears inside the mirror as if it was all an illusion.
Make him talk for five seconds and then make his attack disappear. Not that he could make attacks of that scale any faster. He is too weak for that.
"Dude, I have been staying with The Great King for the past few weeks and even He, doesn't speak like that. Neither do the two Satans that I have met till now. So, who died and made you the King? I think you should go and get checked and then take proper grammar lessons. Believe me people won't laugh at you. Some people are just 'special' that way. What do they call it…..ah yes 'specially gifted'. Yeah, that's the word." Hell yeah, this is the life. He looks like he will blast from the anger I can see on his face. Red turning to the rotten purple like his obnoxious shirt, his snobbish looks doesn't help him either.
"You, you you…."
"See, limited vocabulary is one of the signs of the 'specially gifted' ones too. You should really tell you daddy to take you to a psychiatrist next time. They won't give you any injections and if Riser behaves like a good kid, then he will even get a candy from the doctor. Isn't that a great deal." Trash talk lesson from MMOs take you a long way.
He makes four giant fireballs. His MP levels falling at critical 5%. "Riser is greater than any of them. Riser in an immortal and you all will bow in front of him. Riser will kill you and then Riser will take your peerage as my slaves, make them keel and serve the King that Riser is. Riser will make them and everyone close to you his toys and break them one by one. You wretch, Riser will turn you to ashes for this insolence against him.
"Mirror Alice"
Four mirrors appear and absorb the fireballs one by one, leaving nothing behind.
Only Riser is left behind huffing from exhaustion.
I could feel the disgust and anger of my peerage members at his words. To be honest, it is affecting me as well.
Somehow, I feel rage at his words. I didn't know I was so easily affected by his words. Is there something wrong game?

Fuck this shit, it's much more troublesome than I thought earlier.
I really hate losing control of my emotions. Maybe I really should practice occlumency when I am free.
- Observation Room –
The atmosphere of the Observation Room was incredibly tensed. The tension in the air could be cut by a knife. Riser's words were causing too much effect on others. If only he had any resemblance of control, (or intelligence) he would have understood, the true depth of the pit he dug for himself this time. The pressure radiated by the Satans, Zekram Bael and even Siaraorg is enough to make it difficult for even high class devils to breathe. Rias, Sona and the other young devils were being protected by Grayfia who herself looked as cold as the depths of Cocytus, threatening to freeze anyone who dared to look into her blood red eyes at the moment.
"Is that really what House Phenex thinks of us Oggan Phenex?" the voice of Zekram Bael held no emotion chilling the already cold atmosphere even more if that was possible. This was not a matter to joke around with.
"N…No Great King, I am sure Riser didn't mean anything with his words. It was just said in a moment of anger in mid fight. Please don't take it seriously." replied Lord Phenex, sweating as if Riser's fireballs were hitting him instead.
"His normal behavior doesn't help your reasons or his actions in anyway either Lord Phenex. Riser is known to be arrogant but this crosses lines even for him. There are only so many things you can pass off as childish squabbles." Sirzechs Lucifer speaks for the very first time since the start of the Rating Game. His voice lacking his usual free-minded tone for which he is known for.
"I assure you Lord Lucifer that Riser means nothing by that. I will be sure to make him understand not to lose control of his tongue in middle of battle. I apologise for his behavior" Oggan Phenex speaks out in a hurry.
Rias couldn't help but suppress a scoff at this. It wouldn't do well to act at this time. Her actions carry weight. Any rash decision can become a big blunder. She learnt it the hard way, so she will have to keep her emotions in control.
"I hope that is the case." Sirzechs finishes with an unsaid warning to Lord Phenex.
"Is that Mirror Alice?" Sona Stiri's queen breaks the silence with her question.
Her interest in this matter overcoming her disgust at the words spoken by the filth that is Riser Phenex. She had the same Sacred Gear. It is only natural that she has an interest on the matter.
"Yes, that seems to be the case. However it is certainly different from the other Mirror Alice Sacred Gears that we know of or have recorded. I certainly haven't heard of any that could produce more than one mirror or one that did not reflect the attacks, just made them disappear instead. It seems to be sub-species. I wonder what other functions this one has." Ajuka speaks up to break the tension and divert the attention of the people in a different direction.
"He really did it." Kuisha's astonished whisper was heard by the others in the room, who look at her for further explanation.
"Umm, I was the one who was helping Shin with his Sacred Gear. As you know that Mirror Alice reflects magic attacks with double the power back at the caster, so he wanted me to help him out with it. I just had to use small magic projectiles which he would reflect and I could just wave them off with my Hole ability. While we were training, he wanted to experiment with his Sacred Gear and see what else he could do with it. Reducing the time needed to reflect the attacks, if increasing the number of mirrors is possible or not, if we could reflect the attacks at more than double the power or if physical attacks could be reflected of not. He had heard of the sub-species sacred gear so he wanted to develop his own in a way that suited his needs. I honestly didn't think he could do all that but I did see him reducing the cooldown time of the successive reflections from one minute to fifteen seconds in just one training session. His ability to understand artifacts is astounding to say the least. Now it seems that he has added new abilities to his Sacred Gear as well." Kuisha explains her reasons to the surprised audience of the observation room about Shin's Sacred Gear.
"What do you mean 'His ability to understand artifacts' Kuisha-chan? Did he do the same with another artifact or Sacred Gears?" asks Serafall, he voice carrying a hint of curiosity and something else one couldn't quite put a finger on.
"Shin likes to make artifacts. It is his hobby or as he says 'It helps him de-stress himself and take a break.' He has made a few artifacts for me and Kuisha already. All the members of his peerage are also using the same artifacts at the moment. Siaraorg replies as he shows everyone the bracelet he was wearing. The energy suppression bracelets that Shin had made as a test products for his artificing skills.
"These bracelets suppress the energy levels of the one wearing them. The amount which is suppressed can be adjusted. The energy is used to make a barrier which can block a certain amount of attack before dissipating. Right now every member of his peerage is using these bracelets. According to what Shin told me, it can even suppress the energy levels of a Satan Class Devil to a High Class Devil and hide them in plain sight. A simple but great invention if I say so myself. He said that he didn't want to attract too much attention when he goes to earth so he uses them all the time to keep his power hidden." Siaraorg hands over his bracelet to Serafall who looks at it with curiosity.
Slipping it on her wrist, she feels the excess demonic power around her forming a coating or sorts to cover her body.
"Amazing. It's like you are a High Class Devil. I can't even feel any difference standing so near you." sounds the voice of Sona.
"Onee-chan is amazing right, Sona-tan. I knew it Sona-tan loves Onee-sama the best and is just shy." Serafall chimes in a singsong voice causing Sona to sigh.
"It is indeed an interesting artifact. Simple but really useful for travelling. Ultimate Class and above devils attract too much unwanted attention wherever they go. It wouldn't do any good for us in covert meetings. This can really help out." says Ajuka while analyzing the bracelet. "Are there any other inventions that you know of? I can definitely have someone with an innovative mind sharing ideas with me."
"Not that many that I know. He did mention magic batteries which will basically let us store magic and refill ourselves at any given time, I did hear him mumbling something about a magic disruption device when he was in midst of experimenting. He likes to talk to himself sometimes in such moments. He was saying that he will try making his own Sacred Gears or anything close to it if he can. I don't know how much he progressed with that. I couldn't meet him much in the last 10 days because of the Rating Game preparations." Kuisha answers the Beelzebub and the others in the room.
"Interesting indeed." Ajuka goes back to his thoughts.
"So, if Shin is wearing these bracelets to suppress his demonic power, how much power is he actually suppressing? How powerful is his peerage members? We didn't get a chance to see the much of them as it was too….." Rias' words were completed by a smirking Siaraorg.
"Fast. Yeah, it was barely enough time to see any of their capabilities. As for how much power Shin is holding back. I won't reveal it because he is hiding it for his own reasons. If you want you can ask him." He finishes off not really answering anyone about their doubts.
"Shin-kun is really strong Rias-chan. Don't worry about him." Serafall replies with a chime of her good natured, high-spirited voice enjoying the look of the rage and panic on Lord Phenex's face as she says those words. The idiot finally realised that he was truly fucked.
"I really wonder how you would do any of what you just said. Even if you were to kill me, what makes you think that you can get a hand on my peerage? Do you think that the Satans would allow that?"
Shin's voice brings a hint of smile on both Serafall and Zekram's face. He really was preparing to break Riser completely. Physically, mentally, socially and emotionally. He could have finished the game anytime he wanted. The power that they saw from him during the High Class Devil promotion examination was enough to end this game in an instant. He was intentionally provoking Riser while acting casually. Making him so lost in his rage that he wouldn't understand what he is speaking and lowering his opinion in front of the whole underworld.
"Riser can do whatever Riser wants. Riser will marry Rias. Even Sirzechs Lucifer won't do anything aginst me. You will be crushed. Riser will make rape them in front of you and make you hear their screams before Riser turn you to ashes. You will pay for going against Riser, against an immortal. Your peerage has good girls. Riser will take them as his. They have better uses under someone like Riser than a low-born plebian like you. it will at least replace the wastes in Riser's peerage who couldn't even fight a bunch of weaklings."
"You say you will marry Rias. Rias Gremory? She is a good friend of mine and as far as I and more than half the underworld knows, she detests the very air you breathe. What makes you think that you will marry her? She will probably kick you chicken ass all the way to Sunday and send you crying to KFC all cooked up and ready to be served."
Rias couldn't help but let a giggle escape at this. Shin was really having fun in this.
"He looks like he is having fun out there." She couldn't help but mutter out.
"I seriously doubt that Ria-tan. I am partly sure that if Riser doesn't stop talking right now, he might actually die. Shin might be speaking casually but I have seen that look in his eyes a lot of times before. That look never means well for their opponent." replies Sirzechs answering to Rias while taking a look at his best friend, Ajuka remembering where he had seen that kind of look before.
"He can't kill Riser. That is against the rules." shouts Lord Phenex suddenly finally understanding the gravity of the situation. Riser was the only child of his that understood and followed his way of thinking. Losing him would just not do. His marriage with Rias Gremory was a very vital part of his future plans for becoming the King of the underworld. to overthrow even The Great King and finally sit on the throne of the Devil race as its ruler.
"She doesn't have a choice. Riser will make her marry. If she resists, Riser will kill of her entire peerage. She is contracted to marry Riser. She BELONGS TO RISER. Riser will break her if he has to, just like he will break you. DIE."
Suddenly the whole Observation Room descends into an uncomfortable silence before an enormous pressure envelopes the room. Ajuka hurriedly casts a barrier over the other members of the room before they fall to their knees or even worse happens to them due to the wrath of the Crimson Satan who looks completely devoid of any emotion straight into the screen showing the Rating Game. This was the monster who was known as the Strongest Devil in the world as well as the man who was know to be a Sis-con rivaling Serafall Leviathan.
"This Rating Game is under the observation of the Satans personally. DO NOT INTERRUPT IT IN ANY WAY DUE TO EXTERNAL CAUSES. I wish to see this till the end. No rules will be broken but no interference will be allowed either. It seems that people have forgotten that Satans have a standing in the society that cannot be insulted easily. They need to be reminded of the fact again" voice so cold leaves Sirzechs' lips that people would think he was the one specialized in Ice Magic instead of the Leviathan yet the sheer atmosphere of destruction that he gives off can deny no one of his identity as the Lucifer.
The look of disgust on the faces of the other occupants of the observation room doesn't differ much from the Lucifer's though of much lesser magnitude.
This game was turning into something much more than what they expected.
Good or bad, only time can tell.
- Shin –
The fucker finally said it. I knew that he would blow his gasket sooner or later. All he needed was to be, what does Dumb-and-Dork call it again…. ah yes guided properly. A Mind Haze spell to reduce his intelligence and wisdom does more than just reduce his magical capabilities. At his full demonic power, he would have resisted more but with barely any reserves left and the amount of magic he was spewing for dramatics, it was easy to slip one in unnoticed. Shadow Magic is the best magic for covert actions. My proficiency in magic all me to hide in plain sight but even if someone noticed me using a spell, I could always claim that it was a binding spell, I was secretly trying on him all this while. No one can question me about it anyways.
Deaths in Rating Games are considered as accidents and they cannot stop such a high profile Rating Game until one of the competitors surrender or is unable to continue any longer.
The chicken is right where I wanted him to be.
Time for the next part of the plan.
The Sin of Greed skill is a real pain in the ass. I thought falling to provocations was a thing of pride. And fuck it, it's too troublesome for me to bother. I didn't know that greed has such issues with possessiveness too. They fucker wants MY peerage, he wants MY fiancé. I might not have gotten into this of my own will but I am engaged to Rias. She is only MINE.
And this piece of filth dared to lay his eyes on what is mine. Damn, I really need occlumency. Getting control of my Sins is becoming a priority now. Anyways he needs to pay either way, sin or not, I am pissed off.
"You will do…what" I answer in a voice barely above a whisper. The devil magic works on imaginations. It is the basis of why the wizard magic is so reliant on imaginations and emotions. Emotions fuel all kinds of magic. The shadows around me shake. I know some part of this is conscious but I am pretty sure that I don't want the shadows and darkness to swirl out of control.
"You heard it low-born garbage. Riser will burn you to ashes. I will break anyone who stands in my way. You, Rias, your peerage…..absolutely anyone." he shouts before launching a barrage of fireballs in my direction.
How can he still use magic? An observe it shows that he is regenerating mana. Not too much to be of danger anyways. I can finish him off if I want to. But where is the fun in that.
I Shadow Walk behind him using his own shadow and cast Aging on him. Followed by Weaken Bones, Enhance Pain and Enhance Pain Duration. I even threw in the Enhance Sense spell to make his suffering all the more mind numbingly painful. Phenex can regenerate wounds, but they still feel pain.
I let him keep his healing for now. That will be the last blow to his pride, before I finally break him down.
Finally casting Shadow Stitching on him, I stop his movements and punch his face with a Touki enhanced punch. The cries of the chicken shit is worth listening. The pain is increased by 10 times is enough to break his mind if continued for a prolonged period of time.
"What's the matter chicken guy? What happened to that healing of yours? Oh, I see that you are still healing. Good, I have a habit of breaking my punching bags frequently. You are useful for at the very least that much. Congratulations for not being completely useless." I deliver a well placed kick between his legs. Yup, the standard kick in the balls hurts a lot more than one can expect.
"AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS BASTARD. RISER WILL CRUSH YOU LIKE A BUG."
BAAM
Another punch to the jaw, breaking it into two vertically. It is truly amazing seeing it all healing back. Even if it is reduced due to the low amount of demonic power he has currently, it is fascinating nonetheless.
Wonder if I can take it for mine. Too bad, I can't kill him right now. That would ruin a lot of my future plans.
"You say that you have the blood of the mighty Phoenix….but look at you, groveling on the ground, covered in your own blood and grim. Phoenixes are supposed to be strong, noble, prideful and can keep up rising up from their ashes every time. They are tenacious and represent the will to live…..yet you. You are…pathetic." I kick him again breaking his knees making him hit the ground face first. Looking down on him as he tries to stand up with his now slowly healing knees, I kick him again in his face.
"You on the other hand, keep getting up while spewing trash out of your mouth and have no power to back it up. You cannot be a phoenix. I know exactly what you are. You get up after being stomped and only for one more, you Riser are a ….cockroach. A filthy stinking cockroach which roams around eating trash, that would explain your foul mouth. And today I am going to keep beating you up until you accept that. I will make you give up you façade of being an immortal phoenix and make you face your real self. As a disgusting and insignificant vermin."
"Did you know a funny thing about shadows cockroach. We have shadows even inside our bodies. Right from our nose to right inside our ears. I always wanted to test out a few things about them however the test subjects could never give me a proper feedback. Seeing as you are a durable punchi….i mean a persistent cockroach, I look forward to your reviews. Don't worry thoy, no pressure. If you somehow die, it will only be an unfortunate accident. Rating Game rules states so." I says as I start weaving shadows towards his face.

- Observation Room –
"What insanity is this? Why are you even allowing this? Stop this farce at once and arrest that criminal. He is actively trying to kill a noble pureblood devil. Such actions cannot be tolerated." echoes the shouts of Lord Phenex.
"That is a Rating Game which was proposed by Riser Phenex, your son and accepted by Shin Kageyami. A game that you yourself promoted throughout the underworld. As for that being allowed to happen, we cannot stop it. It is all by the rules. No fouls have been made." Zekram Bael quips in.
"Lord Lucifer, Lord Beelzebub and Lady Leviathan surely you can see that the criminal is trying to kill my son. He even claimed the same moments ago."
"Children don't mean anything by such words. I think you were the one who said that a while ago. I am pretty sure Shin is going with the excitement of the fight too. He doesn't mean anything by it." Serafall answers the distressed Lord without giving him a single chance to counter.
"The fight will not be interfered with. It is all according to the rules and under the surveillance of the Satans. No one will interfere with it. . .The Game Must Go On" answered the emotionless voice of Sirzechs Lucifer not giving any quarter to Lord Phenex to stop the Game. (An: Wink Wink).
This Rating Game has been a rollercoaster of emotions all this while. Rias was extremely tensed when she had heard the news about this game. Then when it started, Shin made everyone's mood lighter with the anime. It really helped alleviate her tensed thoughts to see Shin act so confident.
Then he showed why and how confident he exactly was. That planning and his tactics had left everyone floored. The boy who seemed to be playing around was weaving an intricate web of traps and plans all the while everyone thought he was fooling around. Shin had been spying and had already predicted the opponent team's movements down to the very places they will react.
It was terrifying, but she was actually relieved. Happy that Shin would win and that she would never have to face that vile piece of crap called Riser Phenex in her life. The game progressed as he had planned. Surprises after surprises. The Red Dragon Empress, Time Magic and Alphecca Tyrant. It was overwhelming, the way they took down the opponent.
And finally the filth Riser himself came out. Her mind was filled with disgust at the comments he made about Shin and his peerage. She was not the only one though. Siaraorg looked like he was going to dive in the arena and pummel Riser to the ground himself. But Shin was calm. Too calm. Deceptively calm. Almost terrifyingly calm like the moments before the storm.
His green eyes, much like her own were devoid of any emotions when he was talking. It was similar to her big brother's eyes when he heard Riser degrading her, but unlike Sirzechs, Shin did not lash out. He only kept staring at Riser with a look she couldn't quite put into words. She knew that look but couldn't for her life remember where she had seen it.
"DID I ALLOW YOU TO QUIT VERMIN"
The voice she had grown to like in the past two weeks, was just as even as one's voice when talking about the weather but it still chilled the blood of anyone who heard that.
Her brother had been right. If Riser didn't stop talking, he might really die. Somewhere in the core of her heart, she felt that sadistic pleasure at seeing the filthy Phenex being beaten down to a pulp, happiness at what Shin was doing and that she was a reason that he was so angry. In a strange way she found herself really …..loved.
She could see Sona and her queen Tsubaki looking white faced, sweat running down her forehead. Serafall-sama was unnaturally quite. Lord Beelzebub was just as indifferent as always. Her brother was also staring at the screen with full concentration.
She could feel her queen Akeno shivering while looking at the screen. The scene was really that terryf…. " Akeno-san ecchi", the voice of her rook interrupted her train of thoughts. Nevermind Akeno. She was getting aroused.
Her queen was really an irredeemable pervert.
She will just have to watch that Akeno doesn't jump into Shin's bed secretly sometime without her knowledge.
The only worry she had now was that Shin doesn't do something which can get him in trouble later.
Not that he is breaking any rules. She was pretty sure that Zekram Bael won't let anyone touch him because of this. The House of Phenex can piss off.
For now she will enjoy the show of Shin beating up Riser Phen…..no Riser Cockroach. It was really cathartic to see the object of her troubles pummeled to the ground. She could somehow relate to Akeno …. wow Rias dangerous thoughts right there.

"What is your name vermin?" I repeat again in an even tone with no hints of emotions whatsoever. I can't let my instincts guide me here or I might really kill him for sure.

"Just answer what you are asked. Let's try this again, what is your name vermin?" his eyes have almost lost their light. Right now he is only running on the hope that someone will stop this rating game and his regeneration will carry him through to the end.
Time to break that last hope.

Unlike the previous times, Riser has blood soaking his trousers this time around. Completely drenching and mixing with the dirt making it muddy.

A bright light surrounds us as we were transported from the Rating Game arena to the waiting rooms.
The first thing that I recognize is a red cannonball diving right into me.
Rias was too excited and couldn't care less if the others saw us and thought something more was going on between us. Our marriage contract was basically a secret known only to a select few. They couldn't risk the others find out about it before the end of the Rating Game.
Who cares about that now? I return her hug, taking her into my arms as I caress her beautiful and soft long crimson hair. Really her hair looks the best.
Her breasts on my chest is definitely better and the amount of control it takes me to stop myself from groping her ass is enormous.
"Did I make you worry? Sorry if I went too overboard but I kinda snapped when he said all those things. I intended to keep it much less…..violent." I say softly while caressing her back, all the while holding her close to me.
"I am just glad that you are not hurt." say what you will about Rias, but she is without a doubt the most dedicated wife material in the series. Everything after the Phenex arc supports this claim.

She takes a step back with her face glowing the same colour as her beautiful crimson hair, allowing me to take a look at the others behind her.
I know most of the people present here except probably Seekvaira's peerage and the other older devils. Observe pulls me out through this. I see a certain someone and couldn't help but want to pull off a prank on her.
Looking straight into her eyes I speak up "Ehh, Sakuya did you grow taller?"
The twitch in her eyes and the giggles around the room almost making me laugh when I hear a voice behind me "No Master, I didn't."
Taking a look behind, I couldn't marvel at the sight. They look almost identical. Sakuya is slightly shorter and has a size less in her breasts and ass but other than that they could easily pass off for a pair of twins or a mother daughter pair. Yup, maid oyakodon for the win.
"Sisters?" I ask.
"No Master." It is funny that Sakuya is even bothering to answer me. I know that she is from Gensokyo. How could she have a sister here?
Looking at Grayfia I complete "cousins, relatives…same maid fan clubs?"
Yup, that did it. Serafall bursts into laughter and even Sirzechs lets out a chuckle but is quieted down by a single glare from Grayfia. Henpecked beta male. Strongest Satan my ass.
"Then let me introduce myself. I am Sirzechs Lucifer. Rias' elder brother. It is nice to finally meet you Shin Kageyami. I had only heard about you all this while and it really is great to put a face to the name. We will definitely talk over at a later time but first let's get the formal proceedings out of the way." He speaks up making me wonder what this shit is all about.
"Formalities, I ask raising an eyebrow at him." This better not be some political shit that he is planning to pull on me.
"Your reward for the Rating Game. It was decided between Lord Zekram and Lord Phenex that you get to ask the House of Phenex one thing that they will have to give you in case you win the Rating game, so what is it that you want from them Shin-kun?" he finishes up with a light smile.
Like Wow, Zekram totally screwed them over and here I thought that I was the only one fighting in this whole charade. I could literally take away their whole Phenex tears trade and bring them down to the streets. But then again they could always illegally produce more tears and sell them off. And I have a feeling that I know exactly what he wants me to ask for.
"If that is so, then I would like the hand of Rias Gremory who was engaged to Riser Phenex be passed on to me. Of course if Rias herself disagrees then it might as well be dissolved. I don't want her to suffer under Riser in the future." Zekram probably planned this out so that he doesn't have to go through the rough methods in his reach to achieve this result. I can appreciate that. If he had been more forceful about it, it may have brought unnecessary attention towards me. Not that I don't have enough of that already but you know, even more than that and that is never good.
"WHAT, YOU CAN'T DO THAT. DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BOY." somehow I didn't need observe to say who the fuck this idiot exactly was. Lord Phenex looked like someone just threatened to fuck him with a cactus. I can understand why he would do that. Apart from his House's Phenex tears, he was relying greatly on this engagement with the little sister of the Satan Lucifer and the Heiress of the House of Gremory which would in the future make Riser the Head of the House of Gremory and thus give him control over two houses with a considerable amount of influence.
And I just snooped in, beat his son like a decade old punching bag and ripped his dreams of having control of the House of Gremory right before his eyes.
"I can't? I thought I could ask 'anything from House Phenex' or are you saying that" and here my voice turned completely cold "the words of House Phenex and a contract made in front of the Satans mean nothing but hot air to you." yup, make the fucker a public enemy. The most important thing to do in this case is to not give him any chance to speak before I rake up as much favour as I can. The fucker is a politician and I and a kid. I am not ashamed to accept that if I give him any chance, he will at least make me look bad in this whole fiasco even if Zekram and Sirzechs cover my ass after it. I'd rather not have more favours from those two and become reliant on them more than I can avoid.
"Rias is my friend and a close one at that. I as someone who doesn't really associate with people closely, I make it a point to take care with those that I do get close to. Can you even blame me for doing this after what YOUR SON just said in front of the entire underworld? Claiming that he will 'break' Rias and force her to do what he wants. That's not how marriages work Lord Phenex. That's basically slavery. Are you trying to assist YOUR SON in enslaving Rias?" my voice grow colder with every word I speak.
I have to say the ashen look on the face of Lord Phenex at the implications is worth doing all this drama.
"Y-y-you don't speak nonsense boy. You have no idea what this marriage means for the devil race. The power of Destruction of the Gremory and the Immortality of the Phenex will make devils beyond anything the world has ever seen before. The very future of the underworld and the entire devil race depends on this marriage. Don't go ruing it with your selfishness. It is for the greater good, not something that the likes of you can comprehend." The fucker made two mistakes in his whole idiotic speech. I have been merging with Harry's memories and have been affected to a certain degree to his likes and dislikes too. Not too much, only his most intense emotions having some effects on my thought at best. That game told me that it is the aftereffects of the merging and will pass on soon allowing me to recover.
And this idiot just stepped on two of the biggest landmines from those emotions. The first one being that the Harry in this world hated being called 'boy'. Remember all those times when Dumb-and-dork called him Harry, my boy. This Harry was not dumb and he hated being looked down on. I kind of get why I was given this body. He thinks like me in a way. Secondly, 'greater good' should never be used in front of him. It is basically the source of all his pain. The moron in front of me used both of these. I could see Serafall wince slightly at that, wonder what her deal is. Did she have trouble with greater good troupes in the underworld too?
As if responding to my emotions, my Demonic power soars to its full power. Suppression be dammed. This fucker needed to be shown his place. I start releasing the power of destruction around me as the floor around me starts corroding with just my presence.
"Are you saying that the future of the whole devil race depends on a spoiled manwhore having his way with innocent girls?" ignoring the look of rage on his face, I release even more of my demonic power which is believe it or not nearing the level of a Satan Class, even if I don't have the best damage output or speed, the sheer amount I have is amazing. I continue without stopping. "Are you saying that the Satans and the other 33 Pillars mean nothing? Are you really that stupid as to believe in the filth you just spewed out of you mind that you ignore the entire devil races existence on this farce. If the devil race has really fallen so low that it needs to rely on the whims of a spoiled manchild, then it is better that we all go extinct. My pride as a devil won't allow me to be the part of a race as weak as the one you paint it to be. Also last I remember The Power of Destruction was a trait of House Bael. Now answer question, Is the House of Phenex going back on their words."
The fucker was hardly a 6-Winged Devil and standing in presence of someone who has demonic power nearing the level of a 12-Winged Devil, with all the red and black lightning of the Power of Destruction crackling around me must have made me look damn badass. The green eyes bring out the cold indifferent look out brilliantly. He was literally a shivering mess.
"H-How can y-you use the PoD? Why didn't you use it in the Rating Game?" was this idiot thinking that I was just picked up by Zekram without any countermeasures for the future. Even Siaraorg could have picked up the fight and broken up Rias' contract with Riser if Zekram really wanted it. I was more of a symbol because I had the PoD.
"Why would I use a cannon to kill an insect? Now stop dallying and give me your answer Lord Phenex. What will it be? Will you go back on the contract?"
"Very well put Shin. Even I would choose the same ending if our race even fell as much as Lord Phenex here portrays it to be. As for the immortality, we say very well how easily it was taken care of. You did sign a contract Lord Phenex. Are you going to back down on it, in that case I will be forced to appeal to the Satans as well as invoke the subsidiary countermeasures which were mentioned in the contract." yup Zekram you are the best.
"Shin is not only a user of the PoD, his control over his power is second only to what I have seen Sirzechs being capable of using. If it is about having proper descendants, then I think any children Rias and Shin have will have great amount of control over the PoD. Who knows, they may even be even a Super Devil?" Serafall speaks up for the first time since I entered this room.
What the hell Serafall, I don't think I have that level of control.
Actually you do host. Unlike the other devils who use The Power of Destruction using magic circles and waste their mana, you use it from a skill given by the game. Thus there is no wastage of energy at all. Your invocation speed and damage will improve with the rise in your own strength but your control will always be perfect.
So what does she mean, second only to Sirzechs.
Sirzechs Lucifer uses an upgraded form of The Power of Destruction. Even he cannot control it to the best of his abilities as he loses all control and rampages while using it in his true form. You will need to be at least level 300 to take an upgrade quest for the PoD. He does more damage with less mana and that makes people think that he is better at efficiently using the PoD.
Fuck, here I thought that I was the only one who could upgrade my skills.
You forgot that many people have attained Balance Breakers with their sacred gears, many people have different magic strengths when using the same type of magic.
The user of Canis Lykaon can use Shadow at the Mythical grade when using his Abyss Side Balance Breaker.
Hot damn, my Shadow Magic is only at Expert Rank. I need 5 more levels before I reach the Master Rank. And he is Mythical Rank. That's like 100+% multipliers on his skills.
Longinus are real cheats. And that one is considered to be weaker than the Boosted Gear. Goes to show how much power I need to cover up to become their equal in the future and how much more to truly surpass them.
Anyways returning back to the topic at hand. Lord Phenex is driven into a corner. And he has only one way to get out of this.
"I accept. We will fulfill the terms of the contract." Ah, the misery in his tone is so satisfying. It makes it so worth all the acting.
"I am glad that we could conclude this contract. Thank you very much." finally rubbing the fact on his face and essentially asking him to fuck off, I turn towards the other people present in the room.
Rias looks shocked. Why? Sona is completely stone faced but I can see the beads of sweat rolling on her forehead. The other peerage members are incredibly tensed as well. Why though? The only one who is downright savagely grinning at me is Siaraorg.
Ah, yea I stopped suppressing my demonic power. I slowly reign in my mana as switch the bracelet on covering it all under the barrier of my magic.
My presence goes back to that of a high class devil.
"I have other matters to attend to. I will be taking my leave then." says the fucker and scrams out of the waiting room. Good he knows how to take hints.
"You can use the PoD? How?" Rias asks me with a look of disbelief clearly written on her face.
"You didn't know? I thought the people at my High Class Devil promotion exams must have told you." this is something I did not expect.
"No, I didn't. I truly didn't. Why didn't you use it in the Rating Game then?" she asks me truly curious.
"I was actually afraid that I will end up killing him to be honest. I don't really know how well I can use my power of destruction. During my High Class Devil promotion exam, I was one step away from accidentally disintegrating the examiner because I got too fascinated by the power itself than the exam. It felt instinctive as if I wanted and it just happened. So until I get complete idea about how much damage I can do with it, I will put it on hold." This was actually true. I had a buttload of mana. I could send an attack which can do more than 500k damage and I had no idea about the intricacies of Phenex regeneration. Will he regenerate if I erased him completely? Not something I wanted to test out in a live Rating Game.
"So, you can't control your power properly?" asks Sirzechs, his brows furrowing a bit.
"I won't say I can't control my power. It is more like I have no idea how hard I can hit. I never really had anyone to test my power out against and this one is not something I can use in a friendly spar. My control over my power is quite good. I just don't know how much damage the other party can take." I prove my point by making a ball of PoD above the palm of my hand.
As I keep on adding more power into it, the colour changes to a more blackish shade while it starts to radiate a dangerous aura around it. After around 20k mana I stop before giving them a look at it.
"I estimate that this could kill Riser two times over if he couldn't regenerate. I just didn't know if he could regenerate after being erased completely."
"Amazing. And without a magic circle too. It looks so beautiful." mutters Rias completely enraptured by my performance.
"No he wouldn't have regenerated after being erased completely. Even a Phenex House member needs at least a trace of them left over to regenerate and that attack could easily erase him." answers Sirzechs with a serious voice.
Glad I dodged that bullet.
"He never had a chance to win the Rating Game did he?" asks Sona who finally couldn't contain her curiosity anymore.
"He did. I had surrendered or had been disqualified, then he might have won. As for defeating me in a straight fight. I will hold my opinions on that." I answer not really giving anything away.
Siaraorg snorts at my statement. "As if he had a chance to begin with. You held back so much, it was painful to watch. None of your signature magic used. Barely anything of your martial arts capabilities. It was like punching a fragile glass like it would break if more force was used. I don't know why he was shouting that much to be really honest."
"He was shouting because I had enhanced his senses to a painful degree. A simple snap of fingers beside his ears would have sounded like a nuclear bomb exploding to him. I had enhanced his pain sensitivity to ten times the normal too and I kept him bound the entire time while casting magic that would weaken his bones to a painful degree as well as reduce his strength and endurance till the spells are released by me. Even a bugbite would have hurt like a bullet." I explain my reasons in an even tone all the while enjoying the horrified looks of the young devils.
"Phenex House's regeneration is strong but it does not heal mental anguish. Pain is still felt." I complete my explanation.
"Though before the end of the Rating Game you entirely stopped his regeneration." Seekvaira asks me.
"I was slightly…okay quite pissed off by what he said so that spell kind of slipped my mind when I was beating him up." I say with a sheepish look on my face as the others give me a deadpan expression.
"I think you young ones should go back for now. We have a party in the evening to celebrate Shin's victory in this Rating Game. We will take care of some political issues till then." Sirzechs says waving us off.
I did take a notice of Grayfia staring at me…or rather behind me at Sakuya.
Did she really think that Sakuya was a relative of hers?
"So where exactly are we going." I ask Rias who is holding onto my arm. Observe shows that her Affection reached 55 points during the Rating game. Good progress.
"Bael Castle first. I have a feeling that you shouldn't be roaming around the underworld today or at least the matters calm down." says Siaraorg in a serious tone of voice.
"Let's go, I have a few things I was working on too. It is almost done so maybe we could play with it." I turn to the others before addressing them. "Why don't you all join us too? I haven't had the chance to associate with others in the underworld and would really like to get to know others around my age."
"Sure, why not." Sona says pushing up her glasses. I don't really need glasses. I just like the new frame I got during my shopping in London.
"Why not. Making new connections never really hurts." Seekvaira gives in her two cents too.
"Then let's all get going. We should leave this place quickly. Reporters will be really annoying if they try to latch on to you." with that said Siaraorg summons a magic circle which teleports to the Bael castle.
- Sirzechs Lucifer –
Sirzechs watches as the group of youngsters leave the premises of the Rating Game arena in a magic circle. The events of this day has been a lot more hectic than he had expected it to be. The fact that his sister's fate depended on this Rating Game did not help easing his mind either.
He hadn't seen enough of this Shin Kageyami to tell if his sister was going to be saved or was just going from the frying pan and into the fire. Thus he had been looking forward to this Rating game to get an opinion about him
The first thing that he came to understand is that the guy is not good for his heart's proper functioning. The peerage that he collected was a surprise beyond anything he could have expected. That maid was the one who almost made his eyes pop out of it's sockets. He had to check twice to see if Grayfia was really by his side, then confirmed with Ajuka that she was not a clone made from Garyfia's dna. He never once blamed the other peerage's girls when they freaked out at her appearance. He was Grayfia Lucifuge's husband and he was shocked. He could only feel sorry about them.
Then there was the fact about his planning and strategies. It was again something he did not expect. It was like looking at his best friend Ajuka at work back all over again. Though nowhere near Ajuka's level, he was not close to Ajuka's age either. There was always a room to grow.
And then there were the other things concerning him, his strength, his cunning mind and his creative genius. It seems like this new brother-in-law of his is more than he could have expected. But considering what was in that letter, he already had his doubts that it would turn out to be something similar. Now that all of this fiasco is over, maybe he can take his take out some time to get to know all about Shin Kageyami finally.
- Meeting of the Kings –
In a room are five figures sitting around a table.
"Zekram really did a number on Lord Phenex, didn't he?" Serafall speaks up.
"The one who really did it was the boy. I am pretty sure Riser Phenex will suffer from a severe mental trauma for a long time. Not that I care anyway." replies the voice of Falbium Asmodeus.
"He deserved every bit of what was done to him. I am actually quite disappointed that he didn't kill him off." Sirzechs' voice was still as cold as during the match. "What do you think about it Ajuka?" he asks turning to his long time friend.
"Shin was playing them all off since even the Rating Game began. Every step he took, starting from that anime where the hero declared that he was the strongest. Showing such a thing while he was representing Zekram was quite symbolic. Then he showed his tactic and information gathering abilities and everything was done perfectly." Ajuka starts analyzing the match from earlier.
"However unlike what most people believe, I think even his last outburst was actually planned. Not completely but surely most of it. He is still not capable to completely control his emotions as I saw that he really got enraged when his peerage and Rias were insulted. I didn't know they were so close. And finally the outburst with Lord Phenex, it might make people think that he is an impulsive kid who would easily fall for baits and thus give him an opportunity to completely destroy them. A well thought-out plan. He is setting up fake weaknesses for himself as a counter to his strong points for others to exploit."
"The outburst with Lord Phenex might not have been completely planned. However his speech was certainly something which would have dragged Lord Phenex down through the mud had he used it in front of an audience. If I hadn't know about him better, I would have thought that Zekram was raising a mini-me all this while in secret in the human world." Serafall speaks up.
Now this got the attention of everyone in the room. Serafall knew about Shin.
"What do you know about him Serafall? Is there something to be worried about? Is the boy really…..not dangerous?" asked Sirzechs. His curiosity well deserved as the guy in question was going to be his brother-in-law.
His sweet sister was going to get married to a brat who popped out of nowhere. They were going to have kids. Ria-tan's kids will be cute too. But for having kids they will have to do…..that. No. that cannot happen. Ria-tan was still young. She needs at least 20 no 200 years more before something like that happens. He would have arranged an assassination for Riser Phenex if he had insisted on pushing the marriage anymore but Shin was not someone who could be assassinated. Riser had two brothers and one sister and while his death would have caused minor waves in the underworld, any attack on Shin will be a catastrophe. He was broken out of his thoughts by Serafall speaking.
"Here is the file I got on him. I cleared all the background details that could be tracked back to him completely. No one can track him to his origins anymore except Zekram and me. However something tells me that he will return there himself and I for one am actually looking forward to it." Serafall adds in a tone of anticipation and a clearly suppressed rage.
The others read the documents provided by the only female Satan with a critical eye, looking through any and all details that may decide if the said boy was someone who could prove to be a danger to their society. As time passes by, even the laziest of the Satans, the Asmodeus has a rare serious look on his face, which conceals his thinly veiled anger.
"Is everything written inside the file true Serafall?" Ajuka asks not revealing any shred of emotion that will give away his thoughts to the others present in the room.
"I visited the places myself and made sure of all the facts. He was screwed over by almost everyone he knew. Knowingly or unknowingly. And the mastermind was sitting in a school, eating ridiculously flavoured candies and acting like the savior of the world. A few mind control spells and he spoke everything like a parrot. He was actually trying to steal his sacred gear through a stupid ritual which wouldn't have worked in the first place. The details of the process and his actions are all inside the file. The fact that Shin is actually a part of a prophesy is a surprise but I don't think it is anything to be worried about."
"Do you think they could be a problem if any of our enemies find out about then and use them to influence Shin." questioned Sirzechs which elicited a laugh from Serafall Leviathan.
"Do you know what he did when he was disowned by his father? Yes, someone was stupid enough to disown him. Don't get me started on the idiot. I had half a mind to freeze him into a statue the first time I saw him. Well, what Shin did is, he went to the bank. Took all the Lordships that he was eligible for. Removed everyone else from those houses by disowning them, cleared the bank of all their stuff and left. He even went through a magical ritual to get his name changed to something that no one would ever bother to even take a guess, thus preventing any way to use magical rituals to find him or force him to come back. This had actually happened around two years ago so it is not paranoia on his part. So, No. He won't be influenced by anyone of them."
"It does not matter. Wizards have not been summoning devils for a long time now. Especially since after the Civil Wars and after we stopped taking sacrifices for payments to our services. Whatever happens to them is none of our concern. As for Shin, he is smart enough to not cause problems for himself. I am quite sure that he will manage just fine." finishes Ajuka before bringing up the current topic of distress. "What do you think Lord Phenex will do now?"
"Probably cry about stopping Phenex Tears supply or try to sway the council against Shin but with Zekram there, that will not happen. I think that Sirzechs should declare the engagement between Rias and Shin in tonight's party." Serafall gives his opinion.
"What do you think Grayfia?...Grayfia?" Sirzechs looks towards his wife who seemed lost in her own thoughts. "Are you still thinking about Shin's Kinght?"
"My apologies. Yes. I think that the new engagement should be announced in the evening's party. Shin is a man of talents. The fact that he found such strong peerage members in such a short time tells me that he has ways to detect at least sacred gears or powerful people. Such technology was only available to the Grigori and Heavens. If we could get it on our side, it will be a great boost to our power. Binding Shin Kageyami to our race is also necessary. He is only close to a few people right now and even his engagement with Lady Rias is just because of a contract. We have to find ways to solidify it. I thin….." her words were stopped by the sudden opening of the door.
"WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS? Don't you know how to knock on the door? What's the matter? Why are you looking so tensed?" shouted Serafall.
"There is something in the Skies over the Bael Castle. We don't know what it is and it could be a danger." said the new arrival. "It looks like a weapon of some kind but we are not sure."
"Show me the video feed of the area." Ordered Ajuka while he himself uses his magic to get a feed from the skies around the Bael castle.
As the five people take in a closer look at the video, a strange look appears on their faces and after a while Serafall Leviathan squeals.
"IS THAT A GUNDAM?"

Author's Note : So we finally completed the Rating Game. Phew. Did I go dark in there? I personally think I did what the chicken shit deserved. A brutal pummeling that would result in severe mental trauma.
However, this is not the last we will see of Riser Phenex. Cockroaches are stubborn and tend to stick around until they are properly taken care of.
I will leave the rest of the reactions for the party. I have a few plans for it actually. Now I know many people wanted Shin to use PoD and FGS magic in the game. Believe me, I have my reasons for not doing so. You will see soon in a few chapters. Trust me on this one.
I have not forgotten about the Wizarding world. We will be getting some information about it till we go there for wrecking shit up.
The reason why the Satans are concerned was because someone could capture a member of Shin's family and try to blackmail him.
They need to mind the background of major powers in the underworld and Shin is turning out to be someone like that.
As for his magic reserves being near Satan class. That's because of the perks.
Shin does not have the best damage output. It means that he does less damage with the same amount of mana. Others can do more damage but he will get there. I gave everyone a comparision with the Canis Lykaon because that one was the closest thing I could think of.
I am still thinking about the Mirror Alice Balance Breaker.
It won't be broken as shit but will be strong.
It still has the limit of not being able to reflect attacks above (INT+WIS)*20.
So no it is not op.
There are loopholes that can be used to get around it even after he achieves the balance breaker.
