Prologue
Gazing upon the many possible timelines, an ancient and very powerful ghost found himself puzzled by recent events.
This ghost is a male with pale blue skin, solid red eyes with a black scar over the left eye. Instead of legs, he has a ghostly tail and seems to use flight as his primary means of locomotion. He wears a purple ensemble consisting of a lavender tunic with a hooded violet cloak, grey gloves and belt, and a pocket watch attached to his belt. He also has a clock-like mechanism embedded in his chest, and carries a staff with a blue orb in the top. As this ghost seems to have time based powers, his body constantly shifts between the forms of a small child, a young man in his prime, and an elderly man with a long, white beard.
Now, you all might be wondering what has the Ghost of Time so puzzled. Well, you see now, it's actually quite simple. It's because a new timeline has opened up for a certain young ghost child. A divergence in the timeline, if you will. During his observations on Daniel 'Danny' Fenton's life and his many accomplishments since gaining his ghost powers and becoming a halfa, the timeline has been dead set on a single outcome for the longest time. Danny would come into possession of the answers for the upcoming Career Aptitude Test later that year and would use those answers to cheat on the test, arousing suspicion in his teacher, Mister Lancer.
The balding and obese man would then call a meeting with Danny's family at the Nasty Burger to discuss the likely hood of Danny cheating on the test. Naturally, not wanting their friend to get into serious trouble, Danny's two best(and only) friends known as Samantha 'Sam' Manson and Tucker Foley arrived on the scene to try and defend their friend with a form of alibi or a believable half truth. Sadly this defense of their friend, along with the meeting, was not meant to be. The restaurant's boiler reached critical levels and exploded with enough force to take the whole restaurant with it. Everyone caught in that explosion perished in a quick and likely painful death.
Danny was the only survivor due to being far enough out of the blast radius to escape with minor injuries.
After the heartbreaking funeral in which Danny found himself an orphan, he would turn to the only person in the world who could possibly understand how he felt. The only other halfa in the world, Vladimir 'Vlad' Masters. Otherwise known in his ghost form as Vlad Plasmius. Despite their earlier and rather strong animosity towards each other in the past, Vlad would actually show Danny quite a bit of pity and empathy, as he understands what it's like to lose everything and everyone you ever loved. The only thing that this timeline's Danny would want was to make the hurt go away. Vlad would honor his wish.
No more painful human emotions to drag him down.
And so, utilizing a modified pair of Ghost Gauntlets(originally designed by Danny's father), Vlad would remove Danny's ghost half from his human half. Sadly, neither of them could have predicted that the grief, anger, and need for vengeance would saturate his ghost half. This, coupled with the loss of his human conscience, meant that Phantom was free to rip the ghost half out of Vlad. He would attempt to overshadow Vlad's now separated ghost half, but it would instead merge with Phantom, and Plasmius's evil would overwhelm him. As for what happened to this particular timeline's version of Danny? Well…
Some things, dear readers…
...Are better left unsaid.
But for some reason, this is not the timeline that we seem to be heading towards. History has begun to take a separate path from the doomed future it was once set upon. And it's all beginning with a series of events taking place in an isolated part of the world beyond what everyone knows as 'The Deep Mist'. You see, in this isolated part of the world humanity has gained access to a strange energy known as Mana.
Using Mana as their primary source of energy, the humans of this region advanced their technology farther and faster than any other part of the world. However, with this power came grave consequences. Consequences that I don't think anyone could have truly foreseen. Those who had Mana began to see themselves as gods in human form, and began to segregate and imprison those who were born without Mana, renaming them as Norma. Any children born to Norma parents are immediately taken by the Mana users and given to parents who can use Mana, despite the protests from the real parents. And vice versa, Norma children are given up by their parents and shipped to an island prison called Arzenal to be made into living weapons. Soldiers of war. Never knowing a mother's love, or the pride and protectiveness of a loving father.
It is a sad, sad existence for all of these people. Clockwork himself believes that it might have been for the best that the mist separates them from the rest of the world. For if the Mana users ever learned that the rest of the world doesn't use Mana and is technologically inferior to them, it could spark a third world war. One that could end almost all life on Earth. But as he continued to study this divergence in the timeline, Clockwork sensed someone entering his domain.
"Observants. Why have you decided to enter my domain unannounced?" he asked as two ghosts floated in until they 'stood' a few feet from him.
The Observants are green-skinned ghosts with their most defining features being their one eye on their face, no visible nose, and no mouth. They wear fancy white outfits with black high-collared capes that show their status as Observants.
"You know why we are here, Clockwork." the first Observant said calmly, albeit with a sharp tone.
"You have seen this change to history as well, have you not?" the second Observant asked though it sounded like a statement.
"It would be hard not to notice. As the Ghost of Time, I see all of history as it unfolds. Even as new timelines branch off from the trunk of the tree that is the current history." Clockwork said as his body shifted from a young man to an elderly man. "If history continues down its current course in the timestream, there will be no need to eliminate the halfa known both as Daniel Fenton and Danny Phantom."
Clockwork and the Observants watched the new timeline progress rapidly as the crown princess of this Mana using kingdom, Angelise, was revealed to be a Norma by her own older brother who launched a power play. The fact is, Angelise has been a Norma her whole life, and her mother Sophia had hidden this fact from all but her daughter's most trusted maid, Momoka, in an effort to protect her daughter from the wicked ways of a world ruled by Mana. Unfortunately, this revelation put the people against Angelise and her mother who were forced to flee for their lives on horseback. Fortunately for them, they had a pretty good head start since it would take the troops time to mobilize.
However, despite their lead, they would be unable to outrun their pursuers for long as they were soon fired upon by one of the more overzealous troops with a rocket launcher. Seeing the danger her daughter was in, Queen Sophia was quick to shove her off the horse and over a cliff as she herself was blasted to pieces.
"MOTHER!" she screamed as she plummeted into the waters below.
As the scene finished playing out, Clockwork turned to the Observants with a very serious look on his face.
"Gentlemen, it would seem as though history is changing. But whether it changes for better or worse is yet to be seen." Clockwork said cryptically.
He's a phantom
Danny Phantom
Yo, Danny Fenton he was just fourteen
When his parents built a very strange machine
That was designed to view a world unseen
He's gonna catch 'em all 'cause he's Danny Phantom
When it didn't quite work, his folks they just quit
Then Danny took a look inside of it
There was a great big flash, everything just changed
His molecules got all rearranged
Phantom(Phantom… Phantom…)
When he first woke up he realized
He had snow white hair and glowing green eyes
He could walk through walls, disappear, and fly!
He was much more unique than the other guys
And it was then that he knew what he had to do
He had to stop all the ghosts that were coming through
He's here to fight for me and you
He's gonna catch 'em all 'cause he's Danny Phantom
Gonna catch 'em all 'cause he's Danny Phantom
Gonna catch 'em all 'cause he's…
Danny Phantom
***To Be Continued…***
I'm sorry that this chapter is as short as it is. I had to type it on my phone, as my new computer isn't set up just yet. But I hope you all enjoy the premise to this new story I've begun to write.
