~You're Always My Bartok~
Life was good for old Bartok. The albino bat made a name for himself across Russia, even saving Moscow from a fire breathing dragon. He and his partner Zozi made a decent living off the Bartok the Magnificent attraction, but over the years, both the bear and albino bat wanted to settle down, so they took their money and settled down in a nice place outside Moscow.
Naturally, retirement was pleasant and all, but Bartok kinda missed doing his shows and being a hero. However, fate would allow the albino bat to have another heroic act, in the form of saving of a meek purple and white albino bat named Brandon from a very hungry cat. He even delivered a nasty punch right to the feline's face.
Bartok was a bit lonely and kinda craving a little companionship from someone of his species, he and Zozi took Brandon in, welcoming the new addition to their home. In turn, Brandon and Bartok grew very close as time went on, ultimately becoming the best of friends with each other. The purple and white bat was usually snuggled up to his best pal whenever they got too affectionate.
All in all, retirement for Bartok was working out pretty well. He's got a best pal, a childish and kinda wild-spirited bat that loves having fun.
"You know, Brandon, we really need to stop ending up like this. All warm and snuggled up together, what will Zozi and the other folks think seeing all cuddly and affectionate?" Bartok remarked, chuckling as he held his batty companion close. "Snuggling is nice and all though, ya know?"
"Well, if they think we're an item, I say let em' think it." responded Brandon, rolling his eyes as he nuzzled Bartok's nose. "Besides, being the love bat of the most amazing and cute bat in all of Russia is the best kinda compliment to get."
Bartok just blushed under his fur, giving his friend a smile and hugging him close. It was flattery at it's finest. The purple and white bat knew what buttons to push, kinda manipulative, in a way.
"Aw, jeez, Brandon, stop it already." playfully whined Bartok, squirming a bit in the hug, as Brandon just snuggled him some more in their little hug.
With an evil gleam in his eyes, Brandon kept Bartok close and hugged him tighter, as the albino bat hero was snuggled into his furry chest. Normally, Bartok was the top snuggler when it came to how they played, but his best friend was taking charge tonight.
Helping a power-hungry sorcerer kill a royal family? Easy acting as the eyes, though reluctantly. Facing a fire breathing dragon and saving Moscow from being burned down? A little hot, but in the end, he was able to win. Dealing with possible romance from a bat of the same gender? Taking all his willpower to resist it.
"I love you, Bartok." whispered Brandon, true in his words.
Bartok's heart skipped a beat and he sniffled, a warm smile on his face at hearing that. "I love you too, Brandon." He said, touched as he snuggles even closer to his best friend.
"I just love you a lot, Bartok. Happy to be saved by such a heroic little bat and such a cute one at that." giggled Brandon, kissing Bartok on his furry little head.
"Aw, you." giggled Bartok, not even bothered that he was just kissed on the head.
Okay, girl bats were what he was into, but maybe he's got a bit of a bi tendency that's come from his interactions with Brandon. He's cute, fun loving, sweet, and a little wild at the same time. Bartok would be lying if he said he didn't feel a different kind of care towards the purple and white bat he's with.
"You're my best friend, Bartok, always remember that." grinned Brandon, sticking his tongue out and making a funny face.
"That's a good one. Real crowd-pleaser, I tell ya what! Bet you'll be here all week!" chuckled Bartok, joking around with his friend.
"Oh, I'm gonna be here forever and with you stuck snuggled up to me all the way!" laughed Brandon, rubbing their bat noses together in a wholesome little moment.
Bartok's cheeks burned red under his fur. The warmth from their little snuggle escapade was getting too much. He was glad that Zozi wasn't here to see them in such an affectionate embrace, he'd never hear the end of it from the bear. Like he gets it, maybe he's bi, cut a bat a break, will ya?
"Oh boy, wow, I tell ya what, wow! Never met a more affectionate bat out there before you." replied Bartok, too content with his current predicament to even bother breaking free.
Brandon just made a little fanged smile, keeping Bartok close in his wing-like arms. If the weather's not too chilly maybe they go out for a little bit of flying, or dance around on the bridges like a couple of bats without a care in the world.
"Later after Zozi's finished with supper, let's do a little dancing on one of the bridges. I love seeing you dance around." said Brandon, as Bartok gave a nod, before taking one of his friend's hands and holding it. "It'll be like our own little party, but we're the only partygoers!"
The albino bat just gave an amused grin and laughed. Brandon was just as fun as a barrel full of monkeys, he couldn't get enough of his purple little batty pal.
"Ooh, I could teach you the latest dance step. It starts with, like, a 'whoa'. And then you get really crazy with the hips. It's fun!" Bartok stated, as Brandon and him laughed and snuggled together.
For all he's done in life, Bartok's got not only a doting bear for a partner and friend, but with his best friend in his life, he's just happy to have made such a friend and all the gold and royal rings couldn't convince him otherwise. But for as kind and caring of a bat as he can be and one who loves peace, he wasn't wholly innocent himself, especially in regards to a royal ring he got from the prince.
Bartok frowned when he thought about his past. Before defeating the dragon and saving Brandon, he was no hero, just doing a gig for the attention and of course, the gold coins. He even got a royal ring from the prince, something that even his partner disapproved of him getting. But through trials and tribulations, he became a hero in the end.
"You're sweet." Bartok said, before looking down for a minute and sighing sadly. "But I don't know if I deserve you."
"What do you mean? I don't understand." replied Brandon, confused.
"As Bartok the Magnificent, I didn't do all those heroic exploits I do in my show, expect for beating a dragon, but I didn't do the rest of them. I did it for the attention, it felt nice being liked by the people and stuff. But I'm just a no good bat who was just a greedy attention seeker." He added, sniffling as tears form. "I hope you aren't mad at me."
Bartok hung his head in same. Brandon didn't release Bartok, instead tightening the hold on him and closing his eyes, pressing their heads together as the albino bat began to cry.
Stopping his crying and sniffling, wiping the tears from his eyes, Bartok saw he was still embraced. "You-you're not upset with me? I don't understand."
Breaking the embrace, the two albino bats are separated, but Brandon leaned in and with a smile, comforted his best friend. "It's no big deal, Bartok. We all have our flaws and we make our mistakes. You're still a hero to me. I love you, that's not changing anytime soon." Brandon spoke, placing his hand on Bartok's furry chest.
Bartok sniffled and wiped away his tears, deeply moved by his friend's words. "Thanks for understanding, you."
Pulling Bartok back into a loving embrace, Brandon spoke. "You're a part of this family, Bartok. No matter what you were in the past, you're always my Bartok."
Bartok sniffled and snuggled into Brandon's chest, holding onto the bat he loved so much. Hearing that his best friend didn't hold anything against him for the whole fake hero gig he did tugged at his heart strings, a deep, intense care for the purple and white bat he's with engulfed his heart.
For now, he was content just being snuggled into his best friend's chest. Though, maybe all the affection they did was a sign that it was perhaps inevitable and he might as well, just embrace it.
"I love you, Bartok." giggled Brandon, pulling Bartok closer and nuzzling against him. "You feel so warm to snuggle up to, I love it!"
"I love you too, Brandon. Thanks for believing in me and stuff, appreciate the support." replied Bartok, blushing more underneath his fur as he takes a deep breath. "Okay, take it easy. You can do this. It's just this little thing called kissing."
"Huh?" stumbled Brandon, unsure if he heard the right words.
Having never thought of kissing a male bat before, this was a first for Bartok. Besides, Brandon's really adorable and he's a pretty nice bat, not to mention all the snuggling they do. Probably makes senses for them to be together.
He was gonna do it. Grabbing Brandon by his neck, Bartok closed his eyes and presses his mouth against the other bat's, locking their lips in a kiss. Brandon, startled at first, smiled into the kiss and closed his eyes, kissing back eagerly. They held each other there, happy noises came from the two kissing bats, with Bartok finding the idea of kissing a bat of the same gender kinda nice, actually.
They did break it through for air, pulling away, their eyes shimmering and grins plastered on their faces. Bartok, blushing under his fur, put his wing-like arm around Brandon and pulled him close, as the purple and white bat snuggled into him.
"Wow, I tell ya what, wow!" breathed Bartok, happy with the results of the kiss and with all that's transpired. "You know, kissing a male bat really wasn't all that bad."
"Took you long enough. Finally!" grinned Brandon, pulling Bartok back into the kiss. All too happy to have won the albino bat's heart at last.
Getting bumped up high on the best friend status. Bartok just relaxed into the kiss and kissed back with all in his tiny little body, tilting his head a bit as they deepen their kiss and snuggle even closer, wiggling their noses together. What they have is something special and adorable, it's theirs.
Bartok's just too happy with how it turned out. It's kinda far-fetched to have opened up about his past and then share a kiss with his male best friend, but for him, it's a-okay.
The end.
Love my Bartok, hope you all enjoyed and until next time. RandallBeast19, taking flight!
