Black Clover: The Silver Valkyrie

Chapter 1

A woman with long silver hair worn in a ponytail, wearing what appeared to be steel armor, and had purple eyes, flew towards a village out in what was known as the Forsaken Realm. An ash blonde-haired baby in her arms. The baby had kicked her in the chest a few times during what most would call a flight, but the woman told him softly not to because he'd hurt his baby feet. Eventually, the silver-haired woman landed in a village. Particularly, Hage Village. Once she landed, her silvery steel-like armor vanished. In the armor's place was the uniform of one of the nine Magic Knight Squads of the Clover Kingdom. Along with wearing a symbol on said uniform, as well as purple earrings. As the silver-haired woman walked through, a lot of the bystanders observed her in utter surprise.

"The Captain of the Silver Eagles is here?!" A man gaped.

"You mean the matarich of House SIlva?!" A woman added in surprise. "Acier Silva?!" Acier glanced at the bystanders and smiled lightly.

"I'm only here to get a child to safety." She told them as she walked through the main streets and towards a church off in the distance.

After about 20 to 30 minutes of walking, Acier, now more tired than ever, arrived at the church. She set the bundle that the baby was in before turning on her heel to leave. However…

"Wait!" Acier stopped and turned around to face an elderly man. She assumed, based on the man's clothing, that he was the head of the church.

"Yes?" Acier asked, some tiredness in her voice.

"You shouldn't leave just yet." The man spoke, but then he realized who he was talking to. "L-Lady Acier Silva?! I apologize for my rudeness!" Acier smiled at the man.

"And I apologize for not recognizing you. Father Orsi." Acier greeted. "You were the one that did me and my husband's marriage 14 years ago."

"Oh! Yes, I remember." Father Orsi smiled as he picked up both baby boys who were still in there bag-like sacks and brought them inside.. Acier followed him inside soon after.

Once the 2 were inside, Orsi returned to the kitchen and made some tea for him and Acier.

"What brings you here Lady Acier?" Father Orsi asked as he took a sip of his tea. Acier took a sip of her own tea before responding.

"It's about the child I rescued." Acier spoke. "I couldn't just leave him with the crazy lady I fought to get him. But I also couldn't raise him at House Silva. I already have 3 children, and soon will have a 4th child within the next year or so. Then I remembered you and decided to come to Hage and drop him off here."

"I see." Father Orsi mused as he sipped his tea. Acier finished hers and stood up from the chair in the kitchen.

"I would stay longer, but I have to get back to my squad and House." Acier told the priest.

"Of course!" Father Orsi replied. "I apologize for keeping you here." Acier waved her right hand dismissively.

"Don't worry about it." Acier replied. "Oh, but before I go, the child I saved. His name is Asta." She began to leave, but stopped at the main door's threshold. "I will be visiting any chance I get. Which means I'll be bringing some of my own children here on occasion. Not just so we can catch up, but also to see how well my own children get along with the ones you're taking care of."

"O-Oh!" Father Orsi stammered in surprise. "I mean, sure! If you're alright with that." Acier just smiled at his words.

"I did say I would. So I will." Acier laughed. "Now, I really must be going. It is late after all." Father Orsi watched her go from that point.

About 10 years have passed since Acier dropped Asta off at Hage Village and left him in the care of Father Orsi. Like Acier promised, she came to visit whenever she could. Usually bringing Nozel and the new 5 year old Noelle with her. She brought Nebra and Solid once, but the 2 weren't a big fan of the village. Nozel was okay with it, while Noelle absolutely loved it. Especially 2 since the kids, moreso the black and ash blonde-haired boys, who were Yuno and Asta, were her age. Acier sat next to Father Orsi, Sister Lily, the 21 year old nun, along with Nozel. The 4 watched the 3 and the other kids as they played. Acier would usually visit the village in Hage for charity to help it grow from what most nobles and some royals would classify as trash to a vibrant village; despite it still being out in the middle of nowhere.

"We really appreciate this, Acier." Father Orsi thanked Acier Silva for like the ten thousandth time over the span of 10 years. Acier, like any of the other times he's thanked her, just smiled and brushed his comment aside.

"Don't thank me." Acier retorted. "I'm doing this because I want to. Because I want to help a friend."

"R-Right." Father Orsi stammered, still surprised at how casual the matriarch of House SIlva was acting.

"I just wish Nebra and Solid would like to help instead of doing...whatever they're doing." Acier sighed.

"It's fine." Nozel remarked. "They're still young after all. Well, Solid is at least. Nebra is 19 and make her own decisions."

"I know Nozel." Acier replied. "It's just that this village means a lot to me. And I'd appreciate it if all 4 of you helped out."

"I know." Nozel sighed. "It's just them I guess."

"Mommy!" A 10 year old Noelle came up to Acier, a big smile on her face as she held up a small vase of flowers. "Asta and Yuno helped me pick them! They said we can bring them home with us too!"

"That's lovely." Acier smiled.

"Don't worry, I already thanked them." Noelle grinned, knowing what her mother was about to say.

"That's good of you Noelle." Acier smiled. Acier watched Asta and Yuno, along with the other young kids. She noticed one of the kids crying. Acier was about to say something, but Noelle, Asta, and Yuno went over to help.

That boy… Acier thought. The one I saved 10 or so years ago….. He really is a selfless person….. Perfect fit for the Magic Knights. She chuckled at her own thoughts. Well, that'll be in another 5 years, but still.

After a few more hours, Acier had to reveal that it was time for her, Nozel, and Noelle to leave, much to the sadness of Asta, and the other kids. Father Orsi, Sister Lily, Asta, Yuno, and the other kids waved goodbye to the 3 Silvas.

"Due to Acier's job as the Captain of the Silver Eagles, it's hard for her to find time to come here and visit." Father Orsi spoke.

"But it's really fun when she does come to visit!" Asta grinned.

"That is true." Father Orsi laughed. "Now come on, it's getting late. You all need your sleep."

At the Silva House in the Royal Capital of Clover, Acier, Nozel, and Noelle returned to their house and went inside. Acier placed the small vase of flowers Noelle carried in with them to one of the windowsills.

"I know I've said this before but," Noelle began as Nozel went into the kitchen to see what the maids were cooking. "when are we going to visit them again?" Acier sat in one of the living room's chairs, a smile on her face.

"Whenever me and your brother don't have Magic Knight duties to attend to." Acier replied.

"Oh. Right." Noelle frowned.

"You could always write to the village if you wanted to." Acier told Noelle, a smile on her face.

Besides, I know how you and Asta interact with each other. Acier thought before laughing out loud, confusing her 10 year old daughter.

"What's so funny Mommy?" Noelle asked. Acier soon stopped laughing.

"Oh nothing." Acier retorted, her smile not gone from her face.

But I also know how selfless Asta is. Acier thought. That's the definition of a Magic Knight.

Another 5 or so years passed and it was nearing that time where mages at the 15 go to the Grimoire Tower of the Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony. And the Grimoire Tower in Hage was no exception to this event. Acier, Nozel, and Noelle had come to assist with the event. The 3 watched Asta and Yuno enter the tower.

"There's no way that Asta, a magicless boy, will be able to obtain a grimoire." Nozel scowled.

"Not a normal Grimoire." Acier remarked. Soon after, the 2 boys exited the tower and were heading back to the village. The 3 watched from a safe distance away until the boys were out of sight, then they proceeded to follow them. Upon catching up to them, they notice that Yuno is tied up via Chain Magic. Nozel narrowed his eyes.

"That magic….." He frowned deeply. "It belongs to that former Purple Orca, Revchi. What's he-" Notices that he has Yuno's Wind Magic 4 leaf clover Grimoire. "That bastard!"

"That's it. I'm stepping in." Noelle began, only to be blocked by Acier's right arm. "Mother?"

"Asta can handle this." Acier told her. "He may not have magic, but his body makes up for it. You watched him train, or at least heard him train, right?"

"But that was physical training!" Noelle argued. "I don't want to see Asta or Yuno get hurt Mother! Please! Let me step in!" Before Acier could retort, Revchi mocked Asta for having 0 magic after chaining him up.

"You were born a loser you worthless runt!" Revchi mocked the ash blonde boy.

Maybe….he's right… Asta thought as he closed his green eyes. No matter what I do, I'll never have magic…..

"Asta!" The ash blonde stopped upon hearing his name. "Asta's not weak, Revchi! Sure he doesn't have a single drop of magic power, and he may neve become the WIzard King because I will first, but so what?! Asta has always found a way to make the impossible possible! That's why….." Yuno clenched his hands into fists, despite him being chained up. "you're my rival, Asta!"

"Huh?" Revchi questioned before he laughed. "You'd claim this magicless boy your rival? You must be joking!" Asta lifted his right hand up and grabbed Revchi's ankle.

"Get off of me!" Asta growled. Noelle sighed in relief upon realizing that Asta was fine. Revchi was backing up from Asta in shock and fear. "Sorry you had to see so weak Yuno." Asta began to stand up slowly. "Just….give me a second. That's all I need! Then I'll destroy this guy!"

"How does he plan to do that?" Nozel frowned. "He doesn't have-" Before he could finish his sentence, thunder roared as lightning struck down around Asta. Only it was not lightning at all, but a reddish-black grimoire. Asta stared at it in surprise while Yuno just smiled.

"There's no way you wouldn't have been chosen Asta. There's no way."

Asta grabbed the massive sword out of the ground and charged towards Revchi at full speed. Revchi literally screamed as Asta slashed him with it, in addition to being slammed into the rock wall behind them. Asta grinned at his grimoire.

"I can't believe I have one!" Asta smiled as he walked over to Yuno. "My very own grimoire! It may be old and dusty, but who cares!" Yuno looked down at his foster brother and smirked.

"Asta." Yuno began. "Do you remember the promise we made to each other?" Asta scratched his head, then laughed.

"Of course I do!" Asta retorted. "I'm surprised you did. Based on your attitude towards me and all." Yuno laughed again, then playfully punched Asta's arm.

"Idiot." Yuno snickered. "Why would I be friendly with someone I call my rival?" Asta then punched Yuno playfully.

"You jerk!" Asta laughed.

"I must say, congratulations on your victory, Asta." The 2 foster brothers turned to see Acier, Nozel, and Noelle Silva walking out there hiding spot and towards the 2. Acier had a smile on her face while clapping.

"Mrs. Silva!" Asta gaped, surprised to see her. Nozel scoffed at Asta's formality.

"That's Captain Silva." Nozel corrected him.

"Oh Nozel, it's fine." Acier laughed. "He can call me Mrs. Silva if he wants. After all, he is like a family friend." Nozel opened his mouth to protest, but Noelle interjected.

"Mother is right Nozel." Noelle replied. "Why do you think Asta addresses us so formally?"

"I suppose it's alright." Nozel agreed in a defeated tone. Soon after, he turned on his heel. "Shall we go?"

"In a minute Nozel." Acier replied, a smile on her face. "Oh, Asta, Yuno."

"Yes Mrs. Silva?" Both boys asked.

"I see that you 2 possess the tenacity of true Magic Knights." She smiled as she began to turn on her heel. Her back halfway turned, but the 2 boys could still see the smile on her lips. "Because of that, I suggest that you 2 train hard for the next 6 months."

"Eh? Why?" Asta questioned.

"Mrs. Silva is saying that she wants us to participate in the Magic Knights Entrance Exam." Yuno translated for his somewhat dense foster brother.

0713MM: I know I kinda rushed things here, but it's more to give you a summary of Acier's backstory on how she knows Asta, along with Father Orsi. (Hence why Nozel and Noelle aren't as arrogant or egotistical here. That may be OOC, but I can assure you that Nebra and Solid will not be, much to Acier's disapproval XD.)

"That's right." Acier nodded at Yuno before she turned completely around to walk away. "I hope to see you both there." Before the now shocked Asta and nearly expressionless Yuno can reply, the 3 Silvas had flown into the sky via their magic.
