Ka-chow! Fabulous Cars Crazy Fudge here with another story. This is a companion fic to Tales From Radiator Springs and I was going to save it for the anniversary of when I joined FFN, but I couldn't wait! So, here it is!

As you'll know if you've read the summary (and my works before), you'd know that the canon car-acters are still cars, but there will be some human OCs. My fics have humans co-existing. My main OC is Fudge, who lives in Radiator Springs, but you don't have to know who she is to read this. By all means, you can still find out by reading my other stories.

So, without further ado, why don't I start off with...

Our Town: Blast From the Past

Prologue

The day was anything but typical. Celebrations were in full-swing in Radiator Springs, Arizona. All fourteen residents of the small town were gathered around the statue of Stanley the town's founder.

"One hundred years ago today", Sally was addressing the townsfolk, "Stanley founded Radiator Springs while on his way to California."

Eight-going-on-nine-year-old Fudge Rossi-Topolino waved her hand in the air.

Sally looked at her. "Yes, Fudge?!"

"How did Stanley found Radiator Springs?" Fudge knew the story. She just wanted to hear it again.

Sally smiled. "Stanley was a radiator cap salescar, crossing the desert. He was eager to get to California-"

"Like someone else we know", Doc interjected with a smile in Lightning McQueen's direction.

"However, as he was crossing the desert, he ran into a problem..."

With a puff of smoke, Stanley came to a stop. His radiator had overheated.

Oh. no! Stanley thought, panting. How am I ever going to get to California now? If only there was somewhere to get a drink around here!

As if on cue, he discovered exactly what he was looking for.

"Thank goodness!" he sighed with relief. "A spring!"

He started edging towards it and when he drank the water from the spring, Stanley made yet another discovery: It was the coolest, sweetest, most refreshing water he had ever tasted in his life. He couldn't get enough of it.

He had no idea how long he was there before he noticed two puffs of smoke not too far away. The exact same thing that had happened to him had happened to two other cars crossing the desert.

"Is there a place around here to cool off?" one of them asked Stanley.

"I know just the place!" Stanley assured them. "Follow me!"

It was while these two cars were filling up on the cool spring water that Stanley had an idea. He could take care of other travellers crossing the desert by directing them to this spring where cars could cool their radiators.

No! Wait! He had a better idea! He could build a whole town right here. A refuge in the middle of nowhere.

"And I know just what to call it!" Stanley declared out loud as he began plans to build his city.

"And I guess you could say the rest is history", Sally concluded.

"Yay!" Fudge cheered, clapping her hands.

"Wow!" Lightning exclaimed. "Just think! If Stanley had never broken down here, then none of us would be here. I would've gotten lost in the middle of the desert on my way to California."

"And my mom would've left me in the middle of the desert!" Fudge added, fighting back the tears that threatened to spill. Tears quite often came to her eyes when she thought about her mother and what she did to her.

"Maybe not", Fillmore piped up. "I think you two were meant to find Radiator Springs. I think we all were."

Everyone agreed with Fillmore, even Sarge, who would normally scoff, roll his eyes and mutter something about hippie nonsense.

"Livin' here is the happiest I've ever been in all my lives", Fillmore went on.

"Lives?" Fudge repeated. "Plural?"

"Don't ask", Sarge muttered.

"Well, maybe we could all tell a story", Fudge suggested. "You know, of a moment in Radiator Springs's history that's important to us." She was eager to learn more about the history of her hometown and what both the town itself and the people were like before she was born.

"That is a wonderful idea, Fudgie!" Luigi agreed, kissing his daughter on the forehead.

The entire population of the small town seemed to like that idea.

"And we'd be spoiled for choice, man!" Ramone commented. "There are lots of great moments in this town's history."

"But there are some not-so-great moments too", Sarge reminded him. "Like the Interstate."

"It may not be the greatest thing to have happened to this town, but it's still a fascinating story", Lightning voiced his opinion.

"Radiator Springs certainly has a treasure trove of fascinating stories", Lizzie agreed. As the town's oldest resident and having lived there the longest, she knew this better than anybody as she was there for nearly all of it.

For a while, all of them fell silent, thinking of a possible story to contribute. This silence was broken by none other than Fudge Rossi-Topolino. "Before we start telling stories, I wanna know one thing."

"What is it, Fudgie?" Luigi questioned.

"What happened to all of the humans around here?" the little girl wanted to know. "I've seen photos of them in Lizzie's shop, but I've never seen any around here. Except for me and the tourists... Where did all of the humans go?"

Luigi smiled and scooped Fudge up onto his hood. "Let's tell Fudgie all about the humans who used to live in Radiator Springs..."

So, that's the prologue done. I just thought I'd start off by letting you know what they were all doing. Next chapter isn't really a story; it's just an introduction to the humans who used to live in Radiator Springs.

Updates may be a little bit slow. I've only written two characters' chapters at the moment and I have ideas for a couple more. Plus, I'm working on Cars Origins: Fudged the Results as well (that will be coming soon!). So, while you wait, how 'bout dem reviews?

Oh! One last thing, my forum has been pretty quiet lately, so I just want to let you know that you're all more than welcome to join. It's called Cars Forum, I Guess.
