Welcoming Notes: So I got stuck on an update for The Fox of Overwatch. To combat writer's block, I wrote this out to get an update for you all. This is a reboot to my prior and old AF Naruto x Blazblue story, due to most of the events and revelations in Chronophantasma and Central Fiction railroaded my future plans for that story.
Hope you guys enjoy it. And it's quite refreshing to write a new story set in the Narutoverse.
Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto, Blazblue, or any crossover that will appear.
Chapter 01: The New Bloodedge
[Konoha]
Under the night of the full moon, the Sandaime Hokage of Konohagakure, Sarutobi Hiruzen, was on top of the Hokage Mansion. In front of him were his many ninjas ranging from Chunin to Jonin level.
"That scroll was sealed away by the previous Hokages for a reason! If the Kyūbi brat unlocks its secrets-"
"Sandaime-sama, you must allow us to deal with that thing before it killed us all-"
"Enough! I will not order Naruto's execution. He is too valuable to the village. There is no way Naruto would've known about the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing. Someone must've told him." the Sandaime said and smoked his pipe. "You are all to search for Naruto and bring him directly to me. Only he knows who told him about the scroll. Now go!"
"Yes, Sandaime-sama!" his ninja chanted and dispersed.
The Sandaime sighed after watching his ninja go. "Hebi! Neko!" he then called out.
At once, two ANBU appeared in front of him. One was wearing a snake mask with a spiky purple ponytail, and the other was wearing a cat mask with long purple hair.
"Yes, Hokage-sama?" they chorused.
"You two are to help in the search. Make sure that when Naruto is found, he is kept safe. If any of my shinobi try to kill him, you have my permission to execute them on the spot." the Sandaime instructed.
"Understood, Hokage-sama!" they confirmed in a nod before departing.
'Please be safe, Naruto…' the Sandaime thought before taking a deep puff from his pipe.
[Forest area, hours later]
Deep in the forest, a huge scroll laid out near a tree. It was completely opened, with various items scattered around it. At the end of the scroll was a seal that looked like an emblem not recognized by any clan; a seal of unknown origin that radiated chakra.
The chakra then sparked around it, with the wind picking up in response. Several golden orbs of energy then popped out of the seal, before spinning rapidly. They split into several lines of energy before converging in the middle to transform into a small pillar of light. When it died down, a figure was left kneeling where the energy was.
It was a young boy with sun-kissed yellow spiky blonde hair, ocean-blue eyes with slits, whisker-marks; and a bit tall for a kid. His attire, which was in tatters, consisted of an open orange and blue jacket with a mesh t-shirt beneath, orange pants with a utility belt and ninja tool holsters, and blue ninja sandals. There also was a long, thin blue and white sword on his back, as well as a right reptilian-esque demonic arm with blue skin and scaly plating; with a separate gauntlet on top of it; with his eye that looked like it was blinking.
The boy frowned, feeling the sword on this back. "Murakumo?" he murmured, taking the sword off this back and examining it. "Es. You really did come with me."
"It's alright. Another Embryo Storage will take my place as the future Guardian of the Gate." a female voice resounded in Naruto's head. "And also, I feel that with your presence and abilities, things will change more than the other worlds."
"Hmm, whatever you say, I guess." Naruto shrugged and looked around. "I wonder how much time has passed since that Crest Seal sucked me into the past?" he wondered as he put Murakumo on his back.
"Probably not for long." another feminine voice said. "Despite all the days that passed in that Phantom Field, the full moon is still out. Still, you sure you want to return to Konoha after everything you have seen and experienced, kit?"
Naruto shrugged. "I got time, Kurama-chan. It won't matter if things don't work out here in the village. We'll head to the Magic City of Ishana regardless. Besides, Konoe and Celica should be there by now."
Kurama hummed as Naruto rolled up the scroll. "The sooner the better. Now you gonna copy that scroll or what? The more jutsu under your belt, the better your odds if the village kicks you out for any bullshit."
"Already done, dattebayo," Naruto said, his right hand glowing as he held the huge scroll up.
The chakra spread from his demonic hand to the scroll. Sealing symbols bleed from the scroll and were absorbed into the gauntlet. He grinned when the glow died down and put the scroll on his lower back.
"Wait a minute," he muttered. "If the scroll is still here, then…"
He heard someone land behind him. He turned to see his Academy teacher, Umino Iruka, looking the same as he remembered him.
"It's all over," he said with a chuckle, looking as if he caught Naruto's hand in the cookie jar. "Heh heh heh…"
'Huh, it looks like it's been only a few hours since I left. I truly am back in my time…' Naruto thought and smiled in relief, rubbing the back of his head. "Heh, looks like I found you in the nick of time, Iruka-sensei!"
"NO, YOU IDIOT! I FOUND YOU FIRST!" Iruka roared at him in his Big-Head Jutsu before returning to normal to get a good look at him. "You look exhausted and beat up. What were you doing all night?"
"Huh, it's night already?" Naruto asked, looking around. "Damn, I was so into training that I didn't notice the time! How long was I out?"
"Several hours, so half a day. It's midnight now." Iruka replied, before his eyes widened at Naruto's changes. "What happened to your arm? And where did you get that sword?"
"Trust me, Iruka-sensei. You wouldn't believe me if I told you." Naruto said as he appraised his arm up. 'Thank god for the time difference. I couldn't have handled losing my friends…'
"Well, you can tell me all about it while I'm taking you to the Hokage," Iruka said sternly as he grabbed Naruto's arm. "You'll be lucky if he forgives you, stealing from the Hokage is a serious crime. What were you thinking?"
"Kit, be on your guard!" Kurama warned her container. "Mizuki is here!"
"Funny. That's not what Mizuki-sensei told me." Naruto said, resisting Iruka trying to pull him away. "He's the one who told me about the scroll, and this place. He said that if I performed the jutsu in the scroll, you'd let me graduate. After all, he said you authorized this."
Iruka looked baffled. "Mizuki…?! But I didn't-!" his eyes widened when he heard the whistling of wind resistance caused by ninja tools being thrown. "Move!"
He pushed Naruto out of the way. Naruto nearly lost his footing when he landed a ways away due to already jumping back himself. Iruka then ended up pinned to the tree with shuriken and kunai.
"Now I understand!" Iruka groaned in pain. "This was all your doing, Mizuki?!"
Mizuki landed on a tree and shouted at Naruto. "Naruto, you did well! Iruka was going to betray the village by stealing the scroll and selling it to a rival village. This was all an operation to catch him in the act, and it worked! Now give it to me!"
"No, that's a lie!" Iruka shouted back. "Don't listen to him, Naruto! He was just using you to steal the scroll for himself. Protect that scroll with your life!"
'No shit, Sherlock.' Naruto thought with a subtle roll of his eyes. 'Hard to believe I managed to fool almost every single ninja in Konoha with my "mask"...'
"To be fair, you're 12-years-old. Until you officially get your headband, you're still just a child." Kurama drawled at him. "No matter how much your Sparda blood you awakened from her father's bloodline gives you a slight growth spurt."
"Don't pretend you didn't enjoy it, Kurama-chan. I believe you said, and I quote "The things I would do that bod", end quote." Naruto deadpanned, causing Kurama to sputter.
"She has figurines and body pillows of you in here-" Es suddenly said, with Kurama squeaking. "And a book?"
"Gah! What are you doing in here!? That's my dairy! Out, out!" Kurama wailed as she chased Es around in her room in Naruto's mindscape.
"Naruto, are you listening?!" Iruka's voice snapped Naruto back to reality. "I don't know what you've read, but that scroll is more dangerous than you can imagine! It holds records of forbidden jutsu! Mizuki used you because he wants it for himself!"
'Oh right. This is still happening,' Naruto thought, looking at Mizuki with a bored expression.
"Listen, you little brat. Iruka's just pretending to care about you. The truth is that he hates your very guts for what you did 12 years ago." Mizuki said with a sinister smile. "Do you want me to remind you of what it was? The incident that had us all bound by the strictest law in all of Konoha's existence, known to all except you!"
Naruto frowned, tilting his head. "I don't recall any law like that. What does it have to do with me?"
Of course, Naruto was playing dumb. He knew exactly what "law" the traitor Mizuki was talking about; along with the reason why almost everyone in the village hates his existence.
Kurama had told him on his sixth birthday after an attack had him spending the night in the hospital on his birthday. As she herself wasn't bound by that stupid village decree, she revealed to the young Naruto that she was the Nine-Tailed Fox that attacked the village while under the influence of a rogue Uchiha's Sharingan. She also revealed that he was the son of the Fourth Hokage, the Yellow Flash Namikaze Minato; and her previous container, the Red Death Uzumaki Kushina.
Needless to say, along with the trauma he suffered from the "fox hunts" Naruto figuratively and mentally grew up real fast.
And thanks to the things he's seen in the Phantom Field, his maturity was further enforced.
"No Mizuki, it's forbidden!" Iruka shouted, throwing shuriken at Mizuki.
The traitor deflected them with a kunai, never losing his grin. "The law is that no one must ever tell you your true identity is the Kyūbi, the Demon Fox!"
"No, Naruto!" Iruka cried out as Naruto's bangs shadowed his eyes. "It's not true! You are not the Kyūbi! I swear!"
"How could you be defending your family's murderer, Iruka? It's the truth! After all, you know how everyone despises him so!" Mizuki laughed at him before turning his attention back at Naruto. "Our beloved Yondaime sealed that demon fox into you, making you the Kyūbi no Kitsune! I mean, if he were honest, Iruka would admit he hates you too! No one would ever accept you for who you are! I mean, look at that arm you have! It practically screams demonic! And now that you have stolen the scroll, I can kill you, and sell it to the highest bidder, like Orochimaru!"
"Naruto, run!" Iruka screamed at him as he tried to free himself from the tree, as Mizuki took a whole shuriken from his back.
"...Oi, Iruka-sensei. Is what he said true?" Naruto asked quietly. "Did Kyūbi really kill your family during its rampage?"
"Naruto please, forget what he said!" Iruka snapped, almost free. "I'll deal with him! Just run!"
"Time to become the Kyūbi killer!" Mizuki laughed and threw the oversized shuriken. "Die, Naruto!"
The shuriken buzzed towards an unmoving Naruto, who clenched his fist.
"Naruto, I-" Kurana started to say.
"It's okay, Kurama-chan. It won't make me think less of you. For the one who truly killed Iruka-sensei's parents," Naruto said as a pulse of energy radiated from him. "Is that Masked Uchiha! Never forget that, dattebayo!"
In one swift motion, the Murakumo flew from Naruto's back, landed into his hand, and knocked the shuriken away.
Mizuki blinked. "...Huh?" he gaped, losing his winning smile.
"Are you done?" Naruto asked coolly, revealing the slits in his blue eyes.
"Naruto?" Iruka asked, shocked at the crimson energy radiating off his person.
"So that's your best attempt to break me? I am not impressed." Naruto growled, resting Murakumo on his shoulder. "Sorry to disappoint you, but I already knew about everything that happened on the night of my birth."
"What? How?" Mizuki demanded angrily. "There's no way you could know you stupid demon!"
"It's called eidetic memory and Kyūbi's memories, among other things you fucking traitor." Naruto retorted with an eerie smile. "It wasn't that hard to piece them together, just like that smell of snakes and all that brown on your nose," he added, poking his own nose. "How is Orochimaru doing these days?"
Mizuki took a step back. "How did you know, you demon brat? Don't tell me you're under his thumb too!"
"No, I didn't know." Naruto's fox-like grin widened. "Because you just told me, dattebayo! Thanks for that!"
"You cheeky little…" Mizuki growled, unhooking his other shuriken.
"Mizuki, you…what are you thinking?!" Iruka screamed at him. "Do you have any idea how much danger you'll put the village in if you give Orochimaru that scroll?"
"Don't care Iruka," Mizuki replied as he spun the shuriken on his finger. "Why should I be loyal to a village that doesn't appreciate my talents? Orochimaru-sama did after I eliminated the deadweight while recovering that Secret Document in my first mission! You can't deny being recognized by a Sannin carries more weight than that old fart of a Hokage past his prime?"
"Eliminating deadweight?" Iruka gasped in realization. "It was you that killed your teammate?"
"He had a broken leg and was dragging me down. So I had to do what I did. It may go against Konoha's principals, but that's what it means to be a ninja!" Mizuki declared, grinning evilly. "Don't worry though my old friend. You won't live long enough to tell anyone! I'll kill you, and pin it on the demon brat. Say goodbye, Iruka!"
He threw the shuriken at the trapped Iruka, who braced himself. A long clang was heard, with Naruto flash-stepping in front of Iruka, and knocked the shuriken away.
"Naruto?!" Iruka exclaimed, shocked at Naruto's sudden speed.
"How the hell did you do that?!" Mizuki demanded, glaring at him.
"Fuck you, that's how," Naruto said as he raised his demonic arm in front of himself. "Time to kick your shit in."
"Stupid loudmouth demon brat!" Mizuki growled as he got into a fighting stance with a kunai. "I'll kill you in a single move!"
"Kinda defeat the purpose of a single move if you declare it so casually, asshole. So why don't you put your money where your mouth is," Naruto retorted, his right eye glowing while he grinned smugly. "While it's not taking a load from your master's cock?"
"YOU'RE DEAD!"
Naruto grinned Mizuki charged at him with murder in his eyes. He chuckled as he twirled his Murakumo between his fingers.
"You first."
As soon as Mizuki's kunai was close between his eyes, Naruto quickly parried it away, spun on his heel, and slashed him through the middle.
"Gah! You…bastard!" Mizuki groaned as he fell to his knees.
"Nah. I have it on good authority that my parents were happily married," Naruto said, resting his sword on his shoulder.
"Don't…fool yourself, you brat! You father…was a clan-less nobody in the ninja corps, and your mother…was a whore from the Red…Light District!"
"So I was told many times from these fine people in Konoha. So much so that I've become numb to it instead of letting my mother's blood ignite my temper." Naruto growled, his eye twitching. "Then again, considering how you all spitted on my dad's dying wish after he saved all of your worthless hides 12 years ago," He looked at the traitor over his shoulder. "It doesn't even haze me anymore."
"What…the hell are you talking about…brat?" Mizuki snarled weakly. "The one who saved the village…was the Fourth Hokage, Namikaze Minato!"
Naruto snorted. "Yeah, and who was his wife?"
"Ah, Uzumaki…Kushina…" Iruka answered slowly, his eyes widening as he looked at Naruto. When Naruto stared at him, he saw the Fourth Hokage's face overlap with his own. Then, his appearance floated next to Naruto, with his wife's face appearing next to him. "Oh…Kami… All this time, you're the son of the Fourth Hokage!"
"And they say ninja are supposed to pay attention to detail." Naruto rolled his eyes. "Guess I haven't missed much when sleeping in class."
"No. It can't be! You can't be the son of the Fourth Hokage!" Mizuki cried, holding his stomach as he got to his feet. "How could he think to bleed with that filthy islander slut?!"
There was a moment of silence before Kurama's chakra surged from Naruto.
"...Naruto. Kill him. KILL HIM NOW!" Kurama roared, her chakra pulsing through him. "NO ONE TALKS ABOUT MY PRECIOUS PARTNER AND GETS AWAY WITH IT! RIP HIS BALLS OFF, STUFF THEM DOWN HIS THROAT, AND PAINT THE FOREST WITH HIS FUCKING GUTS!"
"That's the plan. Let's get this over with-" Naruto nodded, turning around to face Mizuki, who now had a large vial of purple liquid, "What is that? An energy drink?"
"A powerful serum, from Orochimaru himself!" he declared and proceeded to down it several gulps. "Now prepare yourself, for the beast within!"
He let out a feral roared and slammed the empty vial to the ground, shattering it. He shook before his body changed, turning into a tiger-man; his increased muscle mass ripping his shirt and vest apart but thankfully sparing his pants. His hair remained intact, but his skin was replaced with orange fur and tiger stripes.
"What the hell have you become?" a horrified Iruka asked.
"RWAARGH! TIME TO KILL A DEMON BRAT!" Mizuki growled gleefully.
"To be perfectly honest, you're not all that different; you're just a lot less subtleaboutit-" Naruto deadpanned as Mizuki charged at him with surprising speed. "OHSHIT!"
Mizuki landed a devastating haymaker on Naruto, who crashed into a tree.
"Well, that happened." Naruto groaned, sliding down the tree. "Guh~"
"Naruto!" Iruka shouted as he finally freed himself. "Stay away from him!"
He charged towards Mizuki, who knocked him away without looking.
"Hold that thought, my old friend. This will be easier than I thought!" Mizuki laughed as he stomped towards Naruto. "Once I'm done with this Kyūbi brat, you're next. Can't have you blabbing to the others about me. Then I'll be taking those Hyūga girls with me since they like this boy so much! I'm sure they'll pay a fortune for them, used goods and all."
A sudden chill draped the area.
"Really? ...Really?" Naruto deadpanned at him.
"Really."
"You really want to die that badly?"
"I believe that is your fate at the moment." Mizuki countered, cracking his knuckles.
"Really now?"
"Really!"
"Are you really sure now?!" Naruto shouted with a bloodthirsty grin.
"You are going to here you stupid brat, no matter what little tricks you have up your sleeve!"
Mizuki lunged at Naruto, who flash-stepped at the last moment behind him. He kicked the tiger-man square in the back and bounded off him, banishing his sword of blood. The next moment, Mizuki's arm landed next to him.
"GAH, you son of a bitch! YOU CUT OFF MY ARM!" Mizuki roared, cradling his stump. "HOW DARE YOU!"
"Yeah, I dare," Naruto said, grinning as he raised his own demonic arm. "Releasing Control Art Restraint System 666. Deploying Phantom Intervention Complex Formation."
In response, a torrent of crimson energy and Kyūbi chakra violently twirled around him, the blue part of his demonic arm turning bloody red as the eye on his gauntlet was completely opened.
"What the?! What the hell is that?!" Mizuki screamed, intimidated by the pressure coming from the foreign energy being released by the demonic blonde.
"Eheheheheheh! You call that shit you drunk power? Lemme show you a taste of REAL POWER, you little bitch!" Naruto crackled, both his eyes now red with slits. "Code: Soul Eater! XBlaze, ignite!"
A burst of power surged from Naruto, who was now draped in dark crimson. With red-slitted eyes and feral whisker-marks, he got into a stance with Murakumo.
"You…you really are a demon!" Mizuki said, terrified and pointing at him.
"Ya goddamn right." Naruto grinned, tracing a circle in the air with his sword.
"DIE!"
Mizuki slashed through Naruto, who was sent flying. Suddenly, the latter faded away.
"Shit, an afterimage-?! How did-" Mizuki panicked before a line appeared across his torso, spurting blood anywhere. "Ah!"
"You wouldn't believe the hell I've been through," Naruto sighed and pointed his sword at the sky. "Too bad you won't be learning about my adventure, with you wanting rape my friends and all." an emblem suddenly appeared above them. "Please die."
"RWAH!" Mizuki roared, turned around, and took a scratch at him. "YOU FIRST!"
Naruto channeled chakra into Murakumo and swiped upwards, sending Mizuki into the air. Next, he leaped into the emblem, turning the energy surrounding Murakumo deep violet.
"Blade wreathed in sin," Naruto chanted and slashed toward Mizuki down the middle. "Void Style: Cursed Bladeshadow!"
The blade unleashed a wave of energy that surrounded Mizuki. The energy shook before closing around him, and disappeared like a black hole. The next second, there was a huge explosion, with Mizuki popping out, looking mangled and limbs flapping about.
"Let's finish this, Es!" Naruto shouted, making a cross handseal as an astral version of her floated next to him.
"Roger!"
"Taijū Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"
Multiple Shadow Clones of Naruto appeared around the wounded Mizuki, each with their own copy of Murakumo. The real Naruto had Es with him, as all of them jumped high into the air.
'What?! Amazing! Not only did he create a thousand clones, but they're more solid than shadowy!' Iruka thought, looking amazing. 'And he did it with the greatest of ease!'
"No way! That's impossible! How did you learn a forbidden jutsu?" a terrified Mizuki demanded, shifting away.
"I have no more words for a dead man! Messatsu!"
One by one, all of the Shadow Clones slashed through Mizuki, with the real Naruto getting in the final slash. With each slash, energy in the shape of crystal wings surrounded the tigerman, trapping him in place in the air.
Naruto grinned. "Type: Exterminator!"
"Artorius!" Es finished for him,
Time seemed to freeze as the area around Mizuki distorted. with Mizuki slowly being encased in crystal-like energy.
"DAMN YOU, YOU LITTLE SHIT!" Mizuki roared in rage as he felt himself being torn from the inside. "OROCHIMARU-SAMA-!"
With a final enraged cry, Mizuki shattered into nothing, with only a spat of blood splashing on nearby trees; the only remaining trace of his existence.
"Looks like he's…been put on ice!" Es said, snapping her fingers as Naruto's Shadow Clones disappeared.
Kurama rolled her eyes. "Oh my god, Es-chan…"
"Just for that, no pudding for you." Naruto said, eye twitching as he deactivated his XBlaze.
Suddenly, Naruto's Murakumo shattered, with Es gaining a corporeal form.
She was a young girl who's 4'11" tall; with long braided blond hair with an ahoge, tied at the end by a navy blue ribbon; and large amber eyes. She had a shortstack figure with a F-cup bust; and wearing a long elegant dark blue frilly dress with a white-collar dress shirt and short red tie; a baby-blue gown coat, and high-heel metal shoes over her dark-blue tights.
She started "beating up" Naruto with her "fists of fury", the assault having as much of an impact as raining pow-hammers.
"All right, all right, knock it off. I'll get you your damn pudding." Naruto grumbled, with Es jumping up, wrapping her arms around her neck, and hung off him.
"Naruto?" Iruka asked as he carefully walked towards him. "What…just happened? How did you-"
Then, Neko and Hebi arrived, landing in front of them.
"Holy crap, that was fucking amazing!" Hebi squealed, examining the bloodstain that was once Mizuki. "What the hell did you learn from that scroll?!"
"Not everything was from the scroll," Naruto said as he handed said scroll to Neko. "I'm so tired right now."
Neko put the scroll on her back. "I can tell you're tired, but you're going to have to explain things to the Hokage-"
"Look, Neko-neesan. I have had a long day. From failing that so-called Academy graduation exam for the third-time, Mizuki tricking me into stealing this scroll, getting sucked into the seal at the end of the scroll, dumped into a weird dimension called the Phantom Field that's in the past, spending several days in said dimension, unlocked a legendary demonic bloodline from my father's family tree, learned the truth of the Kyūbi incident and my parents, fighting all manners of monstrosities, made new friends only to be separated from them, and finally got back to ruin Mizuki's shit. Now I'm going to return his scroll to Grandpa Hokage, get the keys to my parents' house, and then take a nice nap." Naruto drawled, helping a stunned Iruka up with Hebi. "You think I'm crazy, but it's my reality."
"Consider what I saw you do, I believe ya." Iruka chuckled before whining. "Oh, it hurts to laugh."
"Well, after what we have just seen, do we expect a changed Naruto who won't take shit from anyone?" Hebi asked, grinning from behind her mask. "I can only hope so after what you did to Mizuki."
"Of course, Hebi-neechan. After all, everyone calls me a demon, so that's what I'll be." Naruto replied and grinned at a shocked Iruka. "Don't worry. I won't kill indiscriminately. Only those that deserve it."
"As long as it is within reason. Come, Hokage-sama awaits us." Neko sighed and led them away.
Es turned back into Murakumo as they left.
[Hokage Office]
"Here is the scroll, Hokage-sama." Neko said, handing the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing to him.
"Thank you, Neko." Hiruzen said and locked it away.
"Hokage-sama, about Mizuki-" Iruka said while being tended to by a medic team.
"I am well aware of Mizuki's crimes. When you got to Naruto, I focused my Telescope Jutsu on the area. I heard and saw everything." Hiruzen said and focused on the blonde. "Naruto, it seems that you've been through a lot. Are you okay?"
"Tired and sleepy, so I would like access to my parents' house," Naruto responded in an annoyed tone. "If you've seen and heard everything, then you know that I know the truth about who my parents are. Uzumaki Kushina, and the Fourth Hokage Namikaze Minato."
"You weren't supposed to know until you became Chunin. I was only keeping you safe. Your father had enemies not only outside the village, but within as well." Hiruzen explained before eying Naruto's arm. "And I hoped that you would prove to everyone that you're not a demon like they say."
"Fat lot of good that did. Thrown out of stores, attacked on my birthdays, scorned 24/7 for something I had no knowledge of. I feel safer out of the village than inside." Naruto countered, waving the excuse off. "No matter. How much do I get for taking out Mizuki?"
"I preferred if he was taken alive, Naruto." Hiruzen grumbled in disapproval.
"What? But you saw what he did. he broke that law you made about Kyūbi, and admitted to working with Orochimaru." Naruto protested, looking baffled. "I thought we were ninja, not samurai."
"He does have a point, Hokage-sama. Besides, his fate was sealed even if he were to be taken alive. That serum he drank reacted to the Cursed Seal I spied on his body that's definitely from Orochimaru. Even if Naruto spared him, I doubt Mizuki would've survived its side-effects to give us anything." Hebi interjected, shrugging and shaking her head.
Hiruzen sighed in reluctance. "You have a point. Even so, the fact that Mizuki was under Orochimaru's thumb means that Orochimaru himself is on the move. We must be cautious."
"He really is too old for the job. If Namikaze Minato were still here, he would immediately put the village on lockdown and had everyone close to Mizuki questioned." Kurama grumbled, rubbing her temples. "Tsunade should've been Hokage, but she's disappeared to who knows where."
Naruto growled. "You do that. I'd like to go to my real home now. I refused to continue sleeping in that shithole of an apartment with an equally shitty landlady."
Hiruzen sighed again and reached into his desk. He took out a box, along with a headband. He opened the box and took out a pair of keys.
"Despite you stealing the Forbidden Scroll of Sealing from my office, you've shown… considerable skill in defeating Mizuki with your new abilities. You've even mastered the Shadow Clone Jutsu, thanks to the Kyūbi's chakra within you." Hiruzen said and landed the items to Naruto. "Mizuki said that you would graduate if you successfully learned a jutsu from the scroll. After what you did, I say we spite him with this. Congratulations, Naruto."
Naruto examined the headband and frowned. "It's been used."
Hiruzen nodded. "By your father. Wear it well."
"He's telling the truth. I can smell the man's scent from your nose. It is his." Kurama said with a smile.
Naruto's eyes widened, and he held back the tears that threatened to fall. He tied it around his head, finding it a perfect fit.
"Thank you, I will."
"Congratulations, kiddo!" Hebi cheered, wrapping her arm around Naruto. "Why don't I take you out for ramen tonight, and get smashed afterward?"
"Raincheck. I'm tired." Naruto said, turning to leave. "Maybe tomorrow."
"It's a date then! Come on, I'll escort you home. I know where it is from training with Kushina-sensei." Hebi said brightly.
"Hey, Naruto!" Iruka called out to him. "You may think of yourself as a demon, but you'll always be Naruto to me."
Naruto just waved to him before exiting with Hebi.
"I'm worried about Naruto. Just today, he painted the faces of the Hokage Mountain without anyone spotting him, and evaded pursuit for an hour. And now he has the eyes of those that had experienced the horrors of battle." Hiruzen noted, looking saddened. "I can only wonder what happened to him when he went into that strange dimension he mentioned."
"Shall I keep an eye on him and his new friend?" Neko questioned.
"Yes. That will still be your mission until I need you elsewhere." Hiruzen told her and groaned. "With Naruto graduating, we now have an odd number for teams. Team assignments are going to be a nightmare now."
"Yeah," Iruka agreed, pondering on what to do now.
[Uzumaki-Namikaze residence]
"And here we are. Home sweet home." Hebi said as they got to the residence.
"It's…not bad," Naruto noted, admiring the modest look at the traditional mansion fenced off by a wall and gate. "Doesn't stand out too much."
There was the two-story main house, a workshop, a training area, and a garden. Usually, it would show signs of abandonment after one than a decade, but Naruto eyed perversion seals keeping the place fresh.
"That because the other clans' houses are more lavish than this," Hebi said before shooing Naruto inside. "Come on, inside."
Hebi quickly closed the main gate behind her. Putting Naruto's arm behind her neck, he escorted the now doozy blonde into the main house. "It's been a while since I've been in these digs." she mused, using her knowledge of the interior to lead him to the Master Bedroom. "Here we go!"
She laid Naruto into the bed, who mumbled a small "thanks" before drifting off to sleep. Murakumo then shattered and formed into Es, who snuggled close to Naruto while keeping eyes on Hebi, who raised her hands.
"It's all right. I'm a friend, and your friend too," she said, removing her mask and revealing her face. "I'm Mitarashi Anko, Naruto's sister in all but blood. I can be your sister too if you want."
Es gave a slow nod. "Pudding."
"On the house. We'll get some when I get my dango." Anko assured her with a smile. "After Naruto finalizes his ninja status. How's that?"
Es nodded twice, already liking her.
"I'll see ya then, ya little shortstack," Anko said, giggling at Es, who pouted at the nickname. "Keep him safe."
Anko left, Es hugging Naruto close, feeling his chakra and the energies of the Blue swirling within him.
"You'll be the one to prevent the destruction of this world," Es whispered, her eyes glowing blue. "And free it…from Takamagahara and the Master Unit. As the descendant of Sparda and the Ootsutsuki clan, I have faith in you, Naruto…"
[Hokage Office, morning, the next day]
"I see. So that's what happened." Hiruzen said, feeling a headache coming along.
Naruto had just finished explaining what happened to him after he took the scroll. He tinkered with the seal at the end of the scroll, got transported to a different dimension of sorts, and went through all kinds of hell while protecting a girl that got stranded in it while looking for her sister, before returning.
"And the girls you were protecting? What happened to them?" Hiruzen inquired after taking a puff of smoke
"I like to think they made it back home." Naruto shrugged, feeling Es nodding as she was riding on his back. "And I have Es-chan with me. Together we'll shake the Ninja World to its core."
"Hmm, I'm sure you will," Hiruzen said as he skimmed through Naruto's completed ninja dossier. "Yes, everything seems to be in order. And I see that you have your mother's Uzu headband on as well," he said, seeing it tied around Naruto's arm.
"It's my way of honoring her." Naruto said with a smile.
"Hmm, she and your father would be proud-"
"On guard, ol' man!"
A kid suddenly burst through the door and ran towards Hiruzen. Suddenly, he tripped up and felt flat on his face.
"Ow! A trap!"
"Honorable Grandson!" A black-clad ninja came in next and spotted the kid. "Are you all right?! And for the record, there are no traps!"
'Guh, Konohamaru and Ebisu' Hiruzen grumbled as he adjusted his hat. "If it's not one thing, it's another."
"And that's our cue to leave," Naruto muttered and walked to the door. "C'mon Es-chan. Don't want to keep Anko-neechan waiting-"
"Hey, you!" Konohamaru shouted, pointing at Naruto. "That wasn't a trap! You tripped me! Apologize, you jerk!"
"Huh? Why would I trip up a weakling like you?" Naruto drawled in amusement, never losing his stride. "It's a waste of my time if you ask me. Kindy piss off."
"Why you! You think you can talk to me that way?!" Konohamaru snapped and charged at him. "I'm the grandson of the Third Hokage! Who do you think you are?!"
Es suddenly turned into Murakumo, with Naruto grabbing her and pointing his blade at Konohamaru, who managed to stop in front in time before he skewered himself on it.
"I'm the son of the Fourth Hokage, and I don't give a flying shit who you are, dattebayo," Naruto snarled, his eyes turning into slits as he unleashed a fraction of his killing intent on the boy, who shook like a maraca. "Name recognition means jack shit when you can't back it up. Come at me again hiding behind the name of your grandfather, and I promise you'll be breathing through a new asshole when I'm done with you! Do you understand me?"
"Damn you demon brat! How dare you threaten the Honorable Grandson!" Ebisu snarled and charged at Naruto.
"Ebisu, no!" Hiruzen shouted at him.
When Naruto saw Ebisu coming at him, he shot his demonic arm out. "Devil Bringer!"
A spectral arm shot out of the demonic arm and grabbed Ebisu by the face. Ebisu yelled as he was pushed backward and slammed into the wall, where he was held.
"Well well. A volunteer," Naruto mused, taking the sword away from Konohamaru. "Look to your teacher, kid," he said, walking towards the bound Ebisu while fully unleashing his killing intent. "Let him be an example for those who cross me like you just tried to."
Ebisu tried to free himself, but couldn't as Naruto slowly walked towards him, a killer, bloodthirsty grin on his face.
"Naruto, stop," Hiruzen said, now standing between him and Ebisu. "You don't need to do this. Let this one go. I'll be sure to deal with these two."
Naruto and Hiruzen's eyes met for a moment. Naruto then sighed and let Ebisu go, the latter sliding to the ground. Snorting, Naruto put Murakumo on his back.
"I won't be giving out third chances, old man," Naruto growled as he walked to the exit. "Your grandson I'll humiliate with a prank or two. But that asshole there?" he pointed at Ebisu, who looked at him with fear. "Depending on the severity of his next transgression against me, he's toast either way. Believe that, for this fox is biting back, dattebayo."
With that, Naruto left the room; leaving a frustrated Hiruzen, a traumatized Konohamaru, and Ebisu who pissed his pants.
"I think it's time two have a talk with you two."
[With Naruto]
Naruto stretched as he exited the Hokage Mansion. He had calmed down with the sun on his face.
"You should've killed that man. He won't be missed." Kurama spoke up. "He may try to take his revenge on you."
Naruto snorted, putting his hands in his pockets. "His funeral."
"She has a point you know."
Naruto stopped in his tracks, his blood running cold at the foreign voice directed at him. He looked towards the tree, finding a young woman in its shadows staring down at him with a smirk on her face.
She's 5'7" tall, had long platinum-blonde hair, blue eyes, and wearing a white blouse, an open black trenchcoat, a black miniskirt, and black high-heel sandals.
"Oh, it's you," Naruto grumbled, now looking miserable at her appearance. "What was it again? Evangeline A.K. McDowell."
"Hey, I keep telling you to call me Eva," she said, conjuring up a tub of popcorn and snacked on it. "Now then, don't mind me! Please, continue!"
"Ugh, why do you do this?"
"Because your life is my entertainment. Also, I called dibs on you."
"For what?"
Evangeline smirked. "You'll come to know soon enough. Now then, don't you have a sister to meet up with? Go on! Action!"
Naruto grumbled some more before stalking off.
"Sorry Rachel, but this one is mine," Evangeline whispered, summoning a glass of blood and drinking it. "You have a history of failing your changes. No way I'm letting history repeat itself here."
"Be careful of that Shinso Vampire kit," Kurama advised him. "Something tells me she wants more than your blood."
"Yeah. Kinda figured that since he sees my life as a slice-of-life tv show…"
Naruto looked over his shoulder, seeing that Evangeline had disappeared from his sight. Sighing, he continued onwards before arriving at the Dango shop, seeing Anko waving at him.
"Hey kid, you made it!" Anko said as he got close. "I got my dango, and some pudding for your friend."
Es returned to her original form upon hearing that. Her eyes sparkled at the pudding Anko gave her and immediately started eating one.
"I can see where the calories go," Anko said in amusement, eying Es boobs before turning to Naruto. "Now then, shall we get some ramen?"
Naruto nodded and smiled. "I'd love some."
As they headed to their destination, Naruto looked upwards towards the sky. After that little trip to the past, he felt that his time in Konoha was short. It's why he wants to spend as much time with his precious people in Konoha.
For the Wheel of Fate is forever turning, and has a nasty habit of springing surprises on the unsuspecting. But no matter what, Uzumaki Naruto will be ready.
End of Chapter 1
In Chapter 2, Naruto has to be on a team and pass the test to officially become a Genin. But which team shall he be in? You all decide in the poll I have in my profile.
Notes: He has the Devil Bringer (Devil May Cry) with the Oni Gauntlet (Onimusha) attached to it. I also used Abridged dialogues since I've been watching a lot of it while in quarantine. Also, I have not played the XBlaze series, but I know a bit about it.
With that, I bid you all good day, good night, and stay safe out there.
Ja ne!
