A/N: AU. The continuation of Mutants Among Us.

Victor/Sabretooth has always been the MCU villain, but in this universe, Victor is one of the "good guys" and the bond between the brothers is showcased here.

I used the images of Liev Schreiber as Victor Creed/Sabretooth, Anna Paquin as Marie and of course our best Logan/Wolverine ever...Mr. Hugh Jackman.

Enjoy the continuing tale of our destined lovebirds as their "normal" life gets turned upside down.

Mutants Among Us Pt. 2

Prologue

When Marie had found out that she was pregnant, she spoke to the admissions office at the college to delay her start until the following year. After the first month, she and Logan were beginning to find a routine of juggling her classes, Logan's work and caring for their baby. Now that she was into her third month of classes, things were starting to go more smoothly.

The pregnancy was a typical one without any problems, other than she had gotten so big, the doctor had told them there was a possibility the baby would have to be delivered by cesarean. Fortunately that was not the case, and Logan couldn't have been happier, as it meant that he would be in the delivery room during the birth. A first for Logan, as his other children were born in a time when the fathers were made to pace the waiting room floor.

They were fortunate to have found a doctor who worked with mutants and able to give them some insight as to what to possibly expect. When they questioned the doctor if their child would be a mutant or not, all the doctor could say was "only time will tell."

Luckily, the doctor wasn't at all put off by some of Wolverine's reactions during the delivery. Logan did his best to keep the beast calm, reminding him that mate's pain was normal and natural, but Wolverine still didn't like the fact that his mate was in pain, and his snarls at the doctor said as much. Marie, on the other hand, cursed Logan for talking her into a natural birth, vowing that any future children there might be, an epidural will be mandatory rather he liked it or not!

During the pregnancy, there were incidents that surprised the couple, where they learned more about the other, and themselves. Logan never knew that he was a "sympathy vomiter," but sure enough, while Marie hung her head over the toilet, Logan was holding his head in a waste basket or over the sink.

Logan didn't mind the back and foot rubs, and even tolerated being banned to the garage when he wanted a cigarette. He had considered going back to smoking cigars like he had done in the old days, to prolong his "quiet alone time," but he remembered why he had changed to cigarettes sometime in the 1920's, as they were easier to carry around in a pocket.

He did grumble quite often at being woken in the middle of the night for a "craving run" usually for a particular flavor of ice cream that could only be found in one store, and of course by the time he got to the store, 9 times out of 10 they were either out of their signature flavor or the store was closed, leaving Logan the dread of having to return home, empty handed, to a pregnant, moody wife. He thought of just simply buying a case of the flavor to have on hand, but noooo...Marie HAD to have the "fresh, made that day," kind and she could "tell" if it had been in the freezer for a few days.

The beast was surprisingly sweet, being soft and gentle with Marie, and when she would have her mood swings, the beast would simply laugh it off, however he did learn very quickly not to mention anything when her shoes didn't match. What is it about women and shoes?

Marie still went with Logan to cheer him on when he fought. He didn't like having his pregnant wife along at first, but the bigger she got, the more he realized that she used that to get higher bids for him, making the winning pot sweeter. Damn that girl could hustle!

Marie noticed that when he fought Wade, the pair were more aggressive with each other, often warning him to keep himself in check before he slipped and showed the crowd his mutant abilities. She couldn't understand why Logan was so aggressive with Wade, she had hoped that by becoming friends with Vanessa, it would lead the men to become closer as well.

When her and Vanessa had made plans to go clothes shopping one day, she had overheard an argument between the men while they were outside on the deck. Logan had been asking Wade to go a little easier in the ring, but Wade fired back that he needed the money just as much, if not more, for his family. Besides, Wade was hungry for Logan's 'King of the Cage' title. What was it about men and their need to be on top?

By the time Luke came along, Marie didn't have the time to go to the fights, so she didn't know how badly Wade had beat him one night, breaking Logan's leg and Logan breaking Wade's arm. The match was called as a draw and the prize money was split equally.

They had interviewed several people for a nanny position, and Marie's selection didn't sit too well with Logan. He thought the girl was too young and worried that she would leave them in a bind to pursue another job or possibly college, but Marie convinced him that her experience was good, and the references she provided gave glowing recommendations. So, Logan reluctantly went along with her choice.

He started to get more comfortable with Kate taking care of Luke, and by the time Marie was ready to start school, he figured the young 20 year old girl would be ok, but that still didn't stop him from calling Sophia every hour to check up on things.

Marie had found out about Logan's hourly calls and demanded that he stop bothering Sophia, saying that if there were a problem, Sophia and Kate both had all of the emergency numbers and knew what to do. Logan finally let go of his worry and let the women to their work in peace.

Maybe that's why it was so much of a shock when his phone rang in the middle of the afternoon with a frantic Sophia on the other end...
