Twilight & Smallville Crossover
Pairing: Bella/Lex Clark/Chloe
Author's Note: Hi guys. So I was just typing up a new chapter for my other Smallville story when this idea popped into my head. Thought I would give it a go and see what you guys think. So basically, for those who have seen or read Wuthering Heights, Lex and Bella are going to have a Cathy and Heathcliff type relationship. They start out as best friends with a sibling bond, but the relationship will get darker later down the line. It will be a mixture of love, jealousy, and obsession. Hopefully, you will enjoy. I do not own Twilight or Smallville.
Prologue
"Leeeex! I'm going to school noooow!" Bella yells up the stairs to her Brother.
"I thought I was driving you today?!" Lex calls back down.
"You have a meeting today remember? You can't be late." Bella says upon seeing him descend the staircase. "And besides, I'm going to pick up Tina on the way."
Just then she sees Lex pull a face at the mention of Tina Greer.
"What?" Bella asks.
Lex shakes his head.
"Nothing," He says.
"No, tell me. What's with the face?" Bella asks, now curious.
"Well, it's just that Tina isn't exactly…" Lex pauses, "How can I put this? The most level-headed person to be round." He says.
Bella sighs.
"Lex, I know Tina can be a little… unusual at times." Bella says.
"That's putting it mildly." Lex disputes.
"But! She's still my friend, so your just gonna have to learn to live with that fact." Bella says putting her foot down on the matter.
Lex sighs in defeat. He really didn't want Bella hanging out with Tina. The girl was trouble with a capital 'T'. She'd been obsessing over Bella for years. She dressed like her, acted like her, called her up day and night when they weren't in school. It was an endless cycle. If he ever got a minute alone with Tina he would happily tell the silly girl that she needed to grow up and leave his Sister alone. She would never be Bella. His Sister was one of a kind, and not just because of her powers.
"Your right, I'm sorry. I just get worried sometimes that she'll take this obsession of hers too far and do something drastic. I don't want you to get hurt." Lex says in sincerity.
Bella takes Lex's hands in her own.
"I know your worried, but you really don't have to be. I'm bullet proof, remember? No man or woman could ever hurt me." She assures him.
"They wouldn't dare. Or they'd have me to deal with." Lex says meaning that to sound like a joke. But in reality, it was a promise.
"Don't worry so much, I'll be fine. Now I better get my ass gone before I'm late for school." Bella says going to give Lex a hug and kiss on the cheek. "You have a good day, you hear?"
"You too," Lex says giving her a squeeze before placing a kiss on her forehead. "I'll miss you."
He always did hate having to part with her, but Bella needed her education. Especially since she planned to study medicine in college so she could go on to become a doctor.
"I'll miss you too," Bella smiles. She then pulls back and throws her Brother a wink. "Later," She says before zipping out the mansion to her car.
She chucks her bag in the backseat and starts up the engine putting the vehicle into gear. She then drives off down the road to go pick up her friend.
It was hard to believe that it was exactly 11 years today that Bella had first met Lex in that cornfield, the very day her Father Lionel Luthor had adopted her. She couldn't remember what she was doing out there in the first place, or how she'd gotten there for that matter. It was something that continued to plague her mind to this day. All her Father had told her was that there had been a terrible accident and her parents were thought to be dead. She knew he was lying but had no clue as to why. Bella vowed to herself long ago that she would keep digging for answers, no matter if her Father relented. She would find out where she gained these powers of hers from and why they were given to her.
The only people to know about her abilities were her Father and Lex, and the sad thing about it was that Lionel had always treated her like a god damn experiment. He always pushed her for results. He wanted to know how many ability's she owned, what her limits were and if she had any weakness's. It was like she was a rat and he was trying to dissect her. Lex was the only one to ever treat her like a normal human being. He was so understanding and never faltered to comfort her when she was feeling down in the dumps. He was her best friend in the entire world. They spent quite literally every day together and were hardly ever seen apart. Some people thought it was strange by how close they were, but neither cared. The only opinions that mattered were their own.
A few minutes later she pulls up outside Tina's house where she sees her friend wave to her on arrival.
"Hey!" Tina greets her getting in the passenger side.
"Hey, you ok?" Bella asks.
"Yeah I'm great." Tina grins, "Oh! Check it out. I went shopping." She says gesturing to her clothes.
Bella looks over Tina's outfit pushing the fact they were practically wearing the same thing to the back of her mind. A grey ACDC shirt with black knee ripped skinny jeans and black and white checkered trainers.
"Wow. You look great." Bella politely says.
"I know, we match." Tina says with a pleased smile.
Bella could almost see Lex rolling his eyes and saying 'I told you so' to her.
"Yeah, it's almost as if…"
"We're twins," Tina says finishing her sentence.
"Exactly," Bella says just going with the flow.
She knew at some point she would have to have a heart to heart with Tina and gently explain that this wasn't natural behaviour. There was being a friend and then there was having an unhealthy lifestyle.
Upon their arrival at school Bella spots her other friends Chloe and Pete getting off the bus and smiles waving them over just as they see her as well.
"Do we have to stop and talk to them?" Tina asks, once again getting jealous at the fact that she had to share Bella's friendship.
"Come on T, you know their my friends too." Bella tells her.
"I just don't understand what you see in them." Tina comments.
"Tina please, just do this for me." Bella says not wanting to argue.
Tina sighs.
"Ok, but because it's you." She says.
"Thank you," Bella smiles in relief.
"Hey!" Chloe greets her, smiling.
"What up my sista from another mista." Bella jests making them laugh.
Apparently, this didn't sit well with Tina because just then the three of them see her march off in a huff.
"Tina!" Bella calls after her, only to be ignored.
"What was that about?" Pete asks in confusion.
"I have no idea. I'll talk to her later." Bella says not understanding why Tina was acting the way she was. "Anyway, where's Clark? Don't tell me he missed the bus again?" She asks changing the subject.
I'm afraid so," Chloe chuckles.
"Forgive me for being so blunt, but your boyfriend has to have the worst track record for being unable to catch a simple bus." Bella says poking fun of Clarks punctuality.
"Tell me about it. I don't even know what he does all that time." Chloe says.
"I'm visualizing Clark doing something that I don't wanna think about because its really making me sick." Bella says wrinkling her nose at the thought of Clark doing something naughty.
"Oh my god, Bella!" Chloe gaped at her friend, laughing.
"Oh god! Why would you even say that?" Pete says looking disturbed.
"Say what?" Came a voice behind them.
"Clark? How did you get here so fast?" Chloe asks him, frowning.
"I took a shortcut." Clark says giving his girlfriend a peck on the lips.
"Must have been a really small shortcut." Bella says.
Clark nods as the four friends then head on to class, on the way discussing about tomorrow nights dance. Clark and Chloe were obviously going together. Pete decided to ask Jodi Melville, who apparently had a crush on him. And Bella informed that she would be attending with Tina, seeing as they had no dates themselves.
The rest of the day went by smoothly. Unfortunately, the same could not be said for Bella and Tina's friendship. At lunch Bella had tried to talk with Tina who sadly gave her the cold shoulder. After that she tried to speak with her after class, but again no joy. So now Bella was waiting by her car when she clocks Tina heading her way.
"Tina, there you are. I've been waiting for you." Bella says.
"You shouldn't have bothered. I called my Mom and asked her to come pick me up." Tina flat out dismisses her.
"Tina what the hell's going on with you? Why have you been avoiding me all day? What did I do?" Bella asks having had enough of her friends attitude.
Tina scoffs.
"What did you do? You called Chloe your sister in front of my face." She seethes.
"So what? I always call her that. It's just a figure of speech." Bella says making a face.
"I was supposed to be your sister. Me! Not Chloe!" Tina snaps.
Bella shakes her head.
"But you're not really my sister, Tina. I'm sorry, but that's the truth of it." Bella says, instantly wishing she had laid that out better.
"You shouldn't have said that Bella. Everything would have been perfect between us. Now I'm gonna make you wish you hadn't hurt me." Tina tells her in an ominous manner.
Bella then watches as she walks away leaving her standing there in complete shock at what had just taken place.
'What the hell just happened?' She mentally asks herself.
