Life in Summer Bay had finally settled down for the Braxton's once Pirovic was sent down for life after shooting Casey. Police had several other charges against him and he was put in a maximum security prison, with no contact with the outside world due to wanting revenge on Brax. Once Casey recovered from the shooting, him and Denny got married in front of their family and friends before taking a year out to go travelling during their honeymoon. Heath and Bianca had settled into their own place to call home across the road from their family and were content with their lives so far, considering another child of their own in the future.

Brax and Ricky had grown a lot closer after Casey was shot, as Brax relied on her a lot and she knew that, feeling grateful he wasn't pushing her away. They had even got married in secret when they went away for a couple weeks and were expecting their own child soon, which they were over the moon about after having two miscarriages in the past. And despite being cheated on by Phoebe, then a newborn baby being dumped on their doorstep by her 4 months earlier, Kyle was happy being a single dad to his daughter and was grateful for all the support he was getting from friends and family.

"Hey." Ricky smiles as she walks into the living with Brax, smiling at Kyle and Lillie.

"Hey." Kyle smiles, briefly glancing at them as they join him on the couch.

"How's she doing today?" Ricky asks, leaning back into Brax as she watches Lillie sleeping.

"Same as any other day." Kyle smiles. "Considering she's a Braxton, she's the calmest kid ever!" He grins.

"You just wait until she's older." Brax smirks.

"Don't jinx it." Kyle frowns. "And you can't say much, your girl could be the loudest kid ever. Least Lillie feeds well, sleeps well and is overall the best!" He laughs, smiling at her.

"Who knew a kid would be the thing to soften you." Brax scoffs.

"Wait until your kid is here, then we'll see how much you're 'softened'." Kyle says, Ricky laughing at them both.

"Having kids will change you, just look at Heath." She says, them both agreeing.

"We've all had a daughter first, I wonder if Casey will as well when they have kids in the future." Kyle comments.

"It's to level the Braxton's out a bit. You boys can't run this place forever." Ricky smirks, rubbing her baby bump, grabbing Brax's hand and placing it on it as she feels a few kicks. "I think someone else agrees with me." She laughs.

"Yeah right." Brax scoffs, keeping his hand on Ricky's bump as he feels his daughter kicking away. "We all know that's not true."

"It kind of is." Kyle says, getting a look from his brother. "What? It's true. I've been bossed around more by Ricky and Bianca this last year than I have from you in 4 years!"

"Cause you wouldn't dare go against them." Brax smirks. "What happened when Rick asked you to take something over to Palmer's and you refused?"

"That wasn't funny! John bored me to death about his time in the Navy for 3 hours." Kyle moans. "If it wasn't for Marilyn coming home early I would have been there even longer."

"Then don't refuse to do something for me." Ricky grins, having found it very amusing when she told John that Kyle wanted to know about the Navy, especially when she had an excuse to leave them to it.

"I had to avoid John for 2 weeks because apparently he didn't get to finish his stories off when Marilyn came home." Kyle shakes his head. "How she's still sane after marrying him, I do not know." He says, noticing Lillie waking up as he glances down at her big hazel eyes.

"Have you thought about when you'll come back to work?" Brax asks, not able to find enough cover for Ricky's maternity leave, and his and Kyle's paternity leave.

"Yeah, I was thinking in the next couple weeks. Marilyn has already made me promise to let her babysit and I know you'll want some time before your kid gets here. I could also do with the extra cash, babies are expensive!"

"What have I told you about telling me if your tight for money?" Brax shakes his head.

"I'm alright for the minute but I don't want to go to you every time money runs low. I need an income of my own coming back in. And I wasn't going to be able to live off my savings for long, I knew that. You need me back at work and I need the hours. But can I go part time just for the first week or two? I haven't left Lillie yet." Kyle asks.

"Sure, I won't be going off work yet, so I can sort that." Brax smiles.

"And I'm still going to be working for a couple weeks." Ricky smiles.

"Shouldn't you be on maternity leave by now?" Kyle asks.

"Nope, my obstetrician said it was okay for me to work for a bit longer as long as I take it easy." Ricky says.

"Which you will be. I don't see why you can't take it now." Brax says, clearly worried which was understandable.

"Brax, it's two weeks. You're there at all of my shifts, and the first person to stop me when I do something I shouldn't be." Ricky says, glancing at Kyle as his phone goes off.

"That's Heath, he wants me to go over and help him with something." Kyle says, looking up and seeing Ricky holding her arms out with a smile.

"We'll look after Lillie for you." She says.

"Okay. She's due for a feed in half an hour if I'm not back by then." Kyle says, carefully handing her over.

"We've got the routine figured out." Brax smiles, him, Heath, Bianca and Ricky having been the ones to help Kyle when Lillie was dumped on them by Phoebe, without even knowing she had been pregnant when she left Kyle for Melbourne. "Oh and can you let him know Casey rang earlier and he's extended his trip another month."

"Why me? That's means he'll start another rant about how Casey isn't pulling his weight in a gym they both manage!" Kyle moans, hovering behind the coach as he rubs Lillie's cheek with his finger.

"Then tell him to take it up with Casey." Brax shrugs.

"Fine, but I'm not going to be held responsible if another argument breaks out between them about it." Kyle says, standing tall. "See you soon, and call if anything happens." He says, walking out.

"Just think, this will be us soon, with our little daughter." Ricky smiles, lifting Lillie up into the air as she does her little giggles.

"Yeah, it's going to be great." Brax smiles. "If this ones anything to go by, we're going to have it pretty easy."

"Hey, she's got Kyle's genes, and he's a lot calmer than you." Ricky jokes.

"Nah, that's true. Why'd you think I don't have to worry about him as much as Heath or Casey. He's the only one of us who hasn't been in juvie or jail, which is great. Must get that from his mum's side." Brax says.

"Has he told you about her?" Ricky asks.

"Yeah, he told me just after Lillie was dropped off here. He said she was called Lillian, and she was the best mum he could have wanted. She was killed in a car crash 9 years ago." Brax sighs. "He misses her, that's easy to see. I just wish he wasn't so private about it, so we could help him more."

"I'm sure he'll open up more soon. It's great that he did. I'm guessing he named Lillie after his mother?"

"Yeah, said he wouldn't have chosen anything else." Brax says, smiling at his niece as she giggles more. "Maybe we should starting thinking about names for our girl, so we have more of an idea when she's born." He suggests.

"We should, I've got the book here somewhere." Ricky says, handing Lillie to Brax before rummaging under the table, pulling it out moments later.
