Peter Parker, son of Richard and Mary Parker, owners of Parker Industries, was just getting dropped off at his schools field trip after missing the bus and notices his best friend, Harry Osborn waiting for him.
He climbs out of the car and closes the door and taps on the hood.
"Thanks, Jarvis." Peter thanks his family driver as he drives off.
"Pete." Harry greets as he walks up to his friend. "Thought you were gonna miss out."
"I almost did." Peter admits. "My dad and Obi were going out of town and woke me up. He almost looses time as much as me. Some award ceremony in Germany he needs to get to for his discovery to use a cure for a disease to extinguish it."
"Your dad's a genius." Harry told his friend as Peter pushed his glasses up his nose and they start walking to the class.
"No, he just wanted a better weapons contract. It's another base line for some new contact." Peter said as he ran his hand through his dark brown hair. "Or some other spiel like that, I try to make it sound like I have an interest in the family business, but I couldn't care less sometimes."
"It can't be that bad." Harry replies.
"It's just the way the company is. I can't exactly say anything about it." Peter tells him.
"Come on, lets catch up with the class." Harry says and they both run up the steps to the facility.
"There are over 32,000 know species of spider in the world." The tour guide tells the class. "They're in the order Aranae, which is divided into three subgroups."
"This might be the most advanced electron microscope on the eastern seaboard." Peter whispers to Harry.
"Wow. You're not speaking English again, Pete." Harry tells him.
"Sorry." Peter apologizes to his friend.
"Don't apologize, man." Harry says as they continue with the group.
"The Selena Spider, family Sparassudae, has the ability to jump to catch its prey." The tour guide continues on and they see a spider do just that. "Next we have the net web spider, family Filistatidae, genus Kukulcania. Spins an intricate, funnel shaped web whos strands have a tensile strength proportionately equal to the type of high tension wire used in bridge building."
While she was talking, the school bully, Flash and his friends push Peter around.
"Hey, leave him alone." Harry tells him.
"Or what?" Flash dares.
"His father might fire your father." Another mocks and pushes Peter, knocking his glasses off.
Harry helps his friend stand up, they both missed the spider crawling down onto them. "You okay, man?"
"Y-yeah, I'm fine." Peter said, before wincing in pain as the arachnid bit him. "Oww."
"Something the matter?" Harry asked again.
"Yeah, just some spider...just...me…" Peter said before collapsing to the floor.
"Oh my god, I knew you were a wuss, but Penis Parker just proved it. I mean, fainting after a bug bite." Flash said, laughing and high fiving one of his friends, earning a look that could kill.
"Hey, how do you know he's not allergic?" Harry said aggressively. "god Flash, you are such an idiot."
That bite did something to Peter.
And what it has started was only the beginning.
Peter slowly came to in his bed.
He looked around, squinting and trying to spot his glasses. He put them on and noticed that his vision was blurry. He took the glasses off and found it was much better. He looked at the glasses, slightly confused, before putting them down on the table beside his bed.
The next thing he did was look at the calendar. It read as March 10th. It had been over 24 hours since he passed out on the field trip. He remembered feeling terrible then, but now he felt good, better than good, he actually felt great.
As he laid there thinking about it, Jarvis walked over to Peter's bed and sat beside it.
"Hello, sir." Jarvis greeted. "How're you feeling? The doctors said you had an allergic reaction to some kind of bug bite."
"Yeah, I feel fine." Peter promises. "Must've sweated it out over night."
"Well, that's good to hear." Jarvis said and feels his head for a fever. "Is there anything you need us to get you? A sandwich? Chicken soup?"
"Its fine." Peter promises. "Don't worry about me, I feel amazing."
"Are you sure?" He asked. "You're not just saying that?"
"I'm fine, Jarvis." Peter said with a laugh, not knowing his life is about to change.
