Chats Hate Water

I sprinted across the rooftops on my solo patrol, I missed Ladybug's company but understood that she needed a break sometimes. I tried to finnish the patrol quickly so I could get back to my computer and see Alya's newest Ladybug identity theories in tonight's livestream. I was so excited that I didn't see the dark clouds in the sky until they started leaking. The rain hit my skin and I screeched like a cat as all my limbs flew out. I panicky ran to the nearest balcony and dove under a chair. I curled up in a little ball and tried to dry myself.

Rain started pattering on my window and balcony as I put a few new touches on my newest dress. I stared at it from different angles, trying to figure out what was missing when I heard a loud thud on my balcony. I looked out the window confused when I didn't see hail hurling down. I cautiously lifted my trapdoor and was surprised to see a shivering black figure huddling in a ball under my chair.

"Chat?" I called nervously.

"Hun? Oh, hi Mari, well this is embarrassing," Chat muttered, his cheeks glowing red.

"What are you doing out here in the rain, and under my chair on my balcony?" I questioned.

"Well, umm, the rain is just so cold and wet and drippy," Chat tried to explain.

"Oh, so you're a cat," I laughed, rolling my eyes.

"No, ok maybe, fine yes," Chat admitted, his cheeks burning. I laughed but opened the trapdoor fully, my head and room now getting soaked as the rain streamed down my face. Chat made no motion to move from his location so I called out to him.

"Well are you coming in or not?" I laughed, a slightly sarcastic hint to my teasing tone. Chat happily took my offer and sprang into the open trapdoor, almost pinching on me. "Hey, I might be mulitmouse but that doesn't mean you can hunt me Kitty," I teased.

"Ha ha," He grinned but shivered as I closed the trapdoor and slowly climbed back down into my room. I carefully laced a blanket over his shoulders as he curled up on the floor.

"Stay here, I commanded, as I raced downstairs to grab two cups of hot chocolate and a few croissants.

I pulled the blanket tighter around myself as Mari left the room. I inched onto Mari's chair, trying not to soak it. I curled up into a ball, and waited for Mari. About 5 minutes later I heard footsteps and Mari climbed into the room with two steaming cups of hot cocoa and a tray of croissants.

"Oh my god Chat, your freezing," She cried worriedly. She pulled hand made blankets out of her closer and piled them around me. She plied my fingers open and handed me a cup. I gave her a thankful smile as the warm melted chocolate and blankets slowly heated me. She offered me a croissant as soon as I was warm enough to move and I gladly accepted the sweet pastry.

I ate up the tray of croissants as Mari dug through her closet, pulling out wheels of fabric and hand sewn outfits.

"What are you doing?" I mumble, my mouth full.

"Looking for an umbrella, so you wouldn't get soaked when you head home," She replied, not looking up for a second.

"What about that one?" I questioned, motioning to black umbrella that was gently tied to the wall with a ribbon.

"Well umm err, that one's kind of special, you see," she squealed, pulling the umbrella close to her chest.

"Why's an umbrella so special?" I asked curiously, the back of my mind certain that the umbrella looked familiar.

"Well a very dear friend gave it to me, even after I had been rude to him for something that wasn't even his doing he saw that it was raining and that I didn't have an umbrella so he gave this one to me, that's the moment I fell in love with him" Mari sighed dreamily. I went silent, the gears in my head spinning. That was what had happened with me, wait Mari had a crush on me?

"Here, Adrien would have wanted me to give this to you, you need it more than I do," Mari replied hisantintly, as she held out the umbrella.

"Thanks," Was all I could muster, my head still spinning. I took the umbrella and leapt out of Mari's room, she looked confused but sighed with a shrug of her shoulders and went back into her room. I raced home, barely noticing the few raindrops that flew around the umbrella and landed on me. I flopped on my bed and transformed, my heart and mind racing for a solution.

"Plagg," I called.

"Ya, I told you to give pigtails a chance, told you so," Plagg smirked. I rolled my eyes but thought about his words.

"I'll ask Marinette out tomorrow," I declared and with that, my tired mind drifted off to sleep.

Ok this was meant to be a one shot but since it's like midnight and I'm too tired to finish writing up the rest of this, plus I want to get this posted, due to my lack of stories recently, this is becoming a two shot.
