Okay, so I've seen so many fanfictions where people insert characters and/or the reader into the story of Danny Phantom. So, I figured I'd do that too. The character of mine that you are going to see is one I've created a while ago and haven't really found a place for her. So, I figured why not make her a superhero character, change her age to 14, and throw her into the Danny Phantom universe. And thus this story is born lol.

Now, I am a BIG Danny x Sam shipper. I even have a story where they're married and have a daughter together. I love Danny x Sam. But, for this story, I'm making it a Danny x OC story. I don't own Danny Phantom or the episodes, just my OC and her backstory. And this is just for fun. I hope you like it. Enjoy.

Six years. Six years since I last saw this city. Six years since I lived here. Though it feels like an eternity ago, almost like 600. But alas, it's only been six. Time sure does fly when you least expect it to.

I stood in front of Casper High, staring at the looming letters above me. It was strange to be back after so long. I was only 8 when I left Amity Park with my mom and...dad. I shook my head for a moment before taking a big deep breath in and hearing my mom's car horn behind me. I looked at her and grinned as she waved at me.

"Have a good day, honey!" She called, making me wave at her as well before I turned back towards the school, hearing her leave. I sighed with relief as I walked up the stairs and into the school. I took a few steps in before seeing Dash Baxter give me a weird look at the lockers. I swear that guy has meat for brains.

I gave him a grin and waved before heading down the hall. He obviously didn't remember me and that's fine. We weren't that good of friends back when we were kids anyway. He just made fun of the fact that I loved music, and still do to this day. It's not like I had a crush on him!

Okay, I did. But hey, I'm over it now.

As I walked up some stairs, I stopped the moment I saw short black hair and violet eyes talking to two boys her age. One was a brown skinned boy with a red hat and the other was pale white with black messy hair.

These three are just what the doctor ordered.

"I think I should tell them," The black-haired boy said, intriguing me.

"Why?" The black-haired girl said. "Parents don't listen. Worse, they don't understand. WHY CAN'T THEY ACCEPT ME FOR WHO I AM!?"

"Uh, Sam, I'm talking about my powers. My problem,"

"Oh, right. Me, too."

"It's been a month since the accident, but I still have barely any control!" I stared for a moment, shock clearly present on my face. Danny was in an accident? I thought before shaking my head and watching some more. And I'm glad I looked back when I did because he was sinking THROUGH THE FLOOR!

"If anybody finds out about this, I'm going to go from geek to freak around here!" He declared.

"Kind of like what you're doing now?" Tucker spoke, making Danny look down and freak. Thankfully, Sam and Tucker helped him back to solid ground.

"Oh, darn it! If my dad can invent something that accidentally made me half-ghost, why can't he invent something that turns me back to normal?!" I followed the trio up the stairs and watched as Danny went intangible, while walking through a vending machine. I giggled as I quickly walked behind them, seeing Danny go back to being tangible.

"Because he's an idiot," I finally spoke up, making the trio spin around to look at me with fear in their eyes. I just rolled mine as I smirked. "Oh, come on! You guys act like it wasn't easy to see!"

"Who are you?" Sam asked with anger, which caused my smirk to fall.

"Oh, it hasn't been that long!" I said. "I mean, yeah I left when we were all 8, but that doesn't mean you guys should have forgotten me!" Danny looked at me with confusion before his blue eyes shot wide. It was about time HE of all of them remembered.

"Briar?" He spoke with surprise. I sighed with relief before grinning at him.

"Hi, Danny," I said. "How's Jazz doing?"

"Uh...she's...uh..." He stumbled on his words right as Sam's anger melted and she looked at me with shock.

"Briar Winthrope?! What are you doing back in Amity Park!?" She exclaimed, making me giggle.

"My mom thought it would be better to come back to where I was born," I said with a smile. "And I wasn't complaining one bit. It's good to be back."

"You look different," Tucker said eyeing my brown hair and eyes. "Did something happen to you?" I froze for a minute. Technically, yes, something happened to me. But do I tell them exactly that? I mean, I was eavesdropping on their conversation and basically forced myself to be let in on this situation. So it only seemed fair to tell them.

"Uh, yeah...puberty," I said sarcastically, changing my mind. I decided to wait. I'm sure I could tell them sometime today.

"No, that's not it," Tucker said as he tapped his chin, trying to think of what could be different about me. I'm not worried though. He may be a wiz when it comes to technology, but with life, he's as dumb as a bag of barber hair. I should be fine for a little while.

"So," Danny spoke, making me look at him and seeing the worry on his face. "What did you see?" I grinned sadly at him, trying my best to keep this roaring storm of telling them the truth down.

"I saw enough," I said, making him sigh in defeat. "But if you're worried I'll tell somebody, you don't have to. Your secret is safe with me." He grinned at me with respect and kindness.

Danny and I go way back to when we were 4. We used to be next door neighbors to each other and our parents always got along since they were both ghost hunters. They created everything together while Danny and I played outside. We became best friends. And then Sam and Tucker came into the mix and the rest was history.

But one day, my parents decided for us to move somewhere close to where my father lived when he was my age. I complained constantly, but Danny told me he'd always remember and that we'd always be friends. So, I went along for the ride. It wasn't until three years later when I was 10 that my father and I got into a car accident while driving the ghost hunting RV. I got blasted with some invention because of the crash and my father...

"So, you'll keep it?" Sam asked, while Tucker was still trying to figure out what was different with me. I shook my head for a moment, pushing down the feeling I had resurface, and smiled at the three of them.

"Of course!" I replied. "Besides, your powers make you unique, Danny. Unique is good!" Sam smiled at me as she raced in front of Danny.

"Briar is right! That's why I'm an ultra-recyclo vegetarian!" She said with a proud look on her face.

"Which means what?" Tucker asked, sounding bored. Guess he got tired of figuring me out.

"She doesn't eat anything with a face," Danny answered.

"Ah, who cares about that stuff?" Tucker started, making me sigh.

"Here we go."

"Danny, two words: meat connoisseur." He proceeded to sniff the air around Danny, making me place a hand to my forehead. "Last night, you had sloppy joes."

"Impressive," Danny said, making me look on in shock.

"I'd say creepy...but impressive works, too," I say, earning a snort from Danny.

"Meat heightens the senses, and my all meat streak is 14 years strong," Tucker went on, while Sam had an unamused look on her face.

"And it's about to end," She stated. "The school board finally agreed to try a new cafeteria menu. I wore them down.

"Wait..." Tucker looked worried, as I stepped away from him and stood closer to Danny. "You did what?"

Cut to lunchtime when we were going through the line, and long and behold a piece of bread with grass on it was placed on our trays. I'm all for eating my greens, but I'll take meat or fish any day.

"What is this?" Danny asked. "Grass on a bun?"

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!" Tucker was being his overly dramatic self, while I rolled my eyes at him.

"Tucker, it's time for a change," I heard Sam as they were walking to the table. I felt Danny's hand on my shoulder, making me look up at him and smile. He was at least an inch taller than me now, and we were once the same height. But I guess we all have growth spurts.

"Welcome back, Briar," He said with his own smile.

"Thanks," I said back as we followed Sam and Tucker slowly.

"And thanks for keeping this a secret. I know it's a lot to ask when you've just returned, but-"

"Danny, it's no big deal," I interrupted. "I mean, we all have secrets we don't want the world to know about. Heck, I've been keeping a secret from my mom for 4 years."

"Really? Does your dad know this secret?" He asked, stopping me in my tracks as I felt that old wound get scratched. It wasn't bleeding, but it sure as heck hurt. Danny stopped just a few feet away from me and looked, seeing the hurt on my face.

"Actually, that's one of the reasons why we moved back," I said. "My father died in a car accident 4 years ago." The look on Danny's face was a mixture of sorrow and shock all rolled into one. I bet he didn't expect me to say that.

"Oh, Briar, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to-!"

"It's fine, Danny," I said in return. "I just, don't want to talk about it right now."

"I understand," He said with a sorrowful grin as we continued to walk to the table. We sat down and Danny grabbed a spoonful of the grass bread.

"Uh, don't you think this is a little extreme, Sam?" Danny asked as I sat beside the goth girl, deciding to just push my tray away. I had a bagged lunch in my shoulder bag anyway.

"Ah, Miss Manson," I looked at the voice, seeing Mr. Lancer standing there with a hand on Sam's shoulder. "The school board wanted me to personally thank you for ushering in this welcomed experiment to our cafeteria." I heard Tucker sniff the air again, making me sigh in defeat as I look down at my bag, grabbing my lunch from it.

"Meat...near..." Tucker said as I sat up and opened my lunch. And I had come up at a bad time since Tucker was sniffing Lancer. I slapped my forehead at this, hearing a snicker from Danny for the second time that day. I swear, it feels like I never left.

"No, no. The rumors of the new steak buffet in the teacher's lounge is strictly untrue," Lancer retorted, making me cross my arms in a 'yeah, right' sort of way. "Thanks again." And he was gone.

"Yeah, thanks again for making us eat garbage, Sam!" Tucker retorted as I pulled out an apple from my lunch.

"It's not garbage! It's recyclable organic matter," Sam said.

"It's garbage," Danny and Tucker said in unison. I just sighed as I went to eat my apple, stopping midway as a chill went down my spine. A blue stream escaped my mouth as I looked at my friends. Thankfully, Sam and Tucker were busy looking at Danny.

"Uh, guys, I've got a problem," He said with worry, right as a mud pie flew in and hit him in the back of the head.

"FENTON!"

"Make that two problems!" I looked up as I dropped my apple back into my bag, fear corrupting my mannerisms since I knew what was near: a ghost.

"I ordered three mud pies. Do you know what they gave me? Three. Mud. Pies. With mud...from the ground!" Dash yelled as I stood up from the table. I glared at him and this time, I don't mind my eyes showing off a piece of my secret. Dash was always one to get on my nerves. "All because of your girlfriend!"

"She's not my girlfriend!" Danny yelled at the same time as Sam was saying she's not his girlfriend. I guess I didn't see that coming. They always seemed to have this crush on each other, it sort of made me jealous. But I never took it out on Sam and I never will.

"Alright, Dash! You made your point!" I yelled as I walked up to him. "Just because your some big jock doesn't give you the right to pick on Danny!"

"Briar, it's fine," Danny said. "He always does this."

"No, it's not fine! I've been gone for six years! You think he'd learn by now!" I yelled as I crossed my arms and glared at Dash.

"And you are?" Dash asked me confused, making me slap my forehead for the second time today. I guess six years is a very long.

"Oh, come on! I can't be that forgettable!" The blue stream escaped my mouth again as I stood there. I've had enough. I grabbed Dash's plate from him and glared. "GARBAGE FIGHT!" I yelled as I threw into Dash's face, triggering everyone around me to do the same with their garbage. All while we ducked under the table.

"IT'S NOT GARBAGE! IT'S-" Sam began to shout when Danny pulled her under the table and we all crawled to the kitchen.

"YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR THIS, WINTHROPE!" Dash yelled.

"Oh, now he remembers me!" I yelled as we quickly made it to the kitchen door. Danny was the one to open it and let us in one by one. Inside there was a lunch lady looking ghost, wearing a pink dress and a white apron.

"Shouldn't be so bad," Tucker said. "She looks a little bit like my grandmother."

"Shouldn't she be haunting a bingo hall then?" I asked with a playful smirk, which only earned me a glare from Tucker.

"Hello, children, can you help me?" The lunch lady ghost asked. "Today's lunch is meatloaf, but I don't see the meatloaf. Did somebody change the menu?"

"Yeah! She did!" Tucker said as he pointed to Sam.

Immediately after, the lunch lady ghost got scary. "YOU CHANGED THE MENU!?" She yelled making the others gasp while I stood my ground. Now's a good time than any I guess.

"THE MENU HAS BEEN THE SAME FOR 50 YEARS!"

"Get behind me!" Danny said as Tucker and Sam obeyed.

"Wow. I feel safe," Sam said sarcastically.

"I'm GOING GHOST!" Danny yelled as a white ring formed around his torso and went up and down, changing his look. Instead of the white shirt and blue jeans with red sneakers, he had a black and white hazmat suit on with snow white hair and glowing green eyes. So half-ghosts CAN have different theme colors. Perfect!

"Briar, get over here!" Tucker yelled as Danny flew up to fight the ghost. However, I just smirked at them and looked at the ghost.

"How about some help, Fenton?!" I called, making Sam and Tucker look at me with confusion. "I'm GOING GHOST!" And with that, I, too, changed into my ghost form. Same as Danny, I had a black and white hazmat suit looking outfit on and white hair. But instead of neon green eyes, they were icy blue. And I had an icy blue stripe in my hair as well. There was even a star on my chest. (Her look is on the cover.)

"WHAT?!" Sam and Tucker yelled in shock.

"You have ghost powers, too!?" Sam asked.

"Surprise!" I said with a nervous chuckle before hopping into the air and floating next to Danny.

"How did this happen to you?!" He asked me.

"Let's just say this is the secret I've kept for 4 years longer than you," I answered as the lunch lady made a bunch of plates and cups come towards us. I went intangible like it was nothing, while Danny struggled a bit. Thankfully, he got it to work. I'm going to need to train him, I thought with an eye roll. The dishes went through us but were heading towards Sam.

Danny quickly raced over and caught all the plates in his arms. I looked over at Tucker and watched as dishes were flying towards him as well. So I dove forward and caught them the same way as Danny. We both then met at the counter and placed the dishes there.

"Well, if this superhero thing doesn't work out, I can have an exciting career as a bus boy," Danny quipped, making me stifle a giggle before hearing the ovens go crazy behind us. I spun around to see the lunch lady floating there, hair still ablaze and eyes still red with anger.

"I control lunch!" She yelled. "Lunch is sacred! Lunch has rules!" She then held up a ghostly image of a cake. "Anybody want cake?" Sam and Tucker nodded their heads slowly, saying yes to cake. I slapped my forehead for the third time, knowing full well that this was a trap.

"Too bad! Children who change my menu don't get desert!" She yelled afterwards, making me look at her with anger now. She then floated up through the ceiling and made green fire form inside and out of the ovens.

The ovens opened up their lids and shot the fire out, making Sam and Tucker duck quickly out of the way while it seemed to have missed us by a hair. I watched as the ovens started going towards Sam and Tucker, making Danny and I leap into action as we flew behind them and grabbed their arms, Danny with Sam and I with Tucker. We both went intangible, turning our friends that way too and flew through the wall right as the ovens hit them.

We rolled into the hallway and went back to being tangible. "Hey! It worked!" Danny yelled, making me giggle as I stood beside him.

"This is the thanks I get for thinking like an individual!?" Sam yelled annoyed.

"Seems like it," I retorted with my arms crossed over my chest.

This moment of peace, however, didn't last long as the school started to shake. We looked around for a moment before the lockers sprung open, with the contents of each other flying out of it. Sam covered her head as some went passed her, whereas I got a papercut on my cheek.

"OW!" I yelled as I grabbed the wound. "I'm so glad this form heals quickly." I soon looked down the hall to see the lunch lady standing there, an angry and unamused look painted on her face. I looked more angry than shocked (which my trio of friends looked like), before I heard Tucker sniffing the air again. What is this boy's deal?

"Steak...Rib-eye...Port-house...medium rare..." Tucker was saying.

"Will you be quiet about the meat!?" I yelled as I watched the lunch lady turn into a giant meat monster.

"But where did it come from?" He asked, making me roll my eyes. "Lancer." He looked behind him as if the teacher would be there, but instead a piece of paper flew into his face.

"Prepare to learn why meat is the most powerful of the five food groups!" Lunch lady yelled before going all sweet again. "Cookie?" Sam shook her head no this time, which made me smirk. "Then perish!"

"Forget it!" Danny yelled as he slid in front of Sam. "The only thing that has an expiration date here, is you!" Not long after that little speech, however, Danny's ghost form fell and he was back to being the black-haired boy I grew up with. "Whoops. I didn't mean to do that." I slapped my forehead for the fourth time. Or was it the fifth? Either way, I lost count.

"I really should train you!" I yelled before jumping into the air and shooting an icy blue ecto-ray at the meat monster. But all it did was bounce off it's fist as it punched me away. I hit the lockers hard, feeling my head bounce off them as I fell to the floor, with Tucker and Danny joining me not long after. I felt my ghost form fall as I was back to being my human self, but I felt dizzy all of a sudden. I guess the hit to the head really did a number to me. And before I knew it, Sam was taken by that meat monster to who knows where.

"Change back!" Tucker exclaimed. "We've gotta go!"

"You three are not going anywhere," Lancer said as he picked up Danny and Tucker. But the look on Danny's face when he saw me, made him quickly get out of Lancer's grasp and rush over.

"Briar?" He asked as he knelt beside me. "Are you okay?"

"I-I'm fine," I said as I grabbed the back of my head. "Must have knocked into the lockers harder than I thought."

"Let me see," Danny immediately checked my head, touching my hand with his warm ones. I couldn't contain the blush that formed on my cheeks. I know I said I had a crush on Dash at one point (who was right there with Lancer all covered in mud), but Danny was my first crush and always has been. So I guess that explains why I would be jealous of Sam.

He touched the part of my head that hit the lockers, making me wince at it and causing him to back his hand up. I didn't notice at the time, but Tucker was there with me as well.

"Great Gatsby! Are you alright, Miss Winthrope?" Lancer asked, kneeling down in front of me.

"I'm fine," I answered. "Just banged my head on the lockers. I should be fine." I smiled at them as Danny helped me stand up. But I almost lost my balance and fell back into Danny's arms. I could always count on him to catch him. Not in a romantic way (though I do still have a crush on him), but in a more friendly way.

"You sure?" Danny asked me.

"I'm sure," I said with a smile.

"Well, in that case, you are also in trouble, Miss Winthrope," Lancer said as he gestured for the three us to follow him.

"Told you you would pay, Winthrope!" Dash yelled towards me, making me glare at him while Danny helped me walk. He sure was a kind soul.

In Lancer's office, Danny, Tucker, and I were sitting in three different chairs. I was sitting on Danny's left while Tucker was on Danny's right. Lancer was going through the files, looking for Danny's and Tucker's most likely. This was my first day back! How would they have a record on me?

"Tucker Foley, chronic tardiness, talking in class, repeated loitering by the girl's locker room," Lancer read off, making Tucker get that sly grin on his face.

"Remind me to punch you later, Tuck," I said with my arms crossed.

"Danny Fenton, 34 dropped beakers, banned for life from handling all fragile school property." I stifled a giggle at this as I looked at Danny.

"Still a clutz, huh?" I asked with a smirk, gaining a glare from Danny.

"But no severe mischief before today," Lancer went on, gaining a look from Dash.

"What about Winthrope, Mr. Lancer?" He asked, making me smirk.

"Miss Winthrope is new to Casper High and it's her first day," Lancer retorted. "Therefore, she has no record." He then closed the folder and slapped it onto the desk. "But still, tell me...WHY DID THE THREE YOU CONSPIRE TO RUIN THE SCHOOL CAFETERIA!"

"Dash started it!" Danny yelled. "He threw-!"

"Four touchdown passes in the last game and is therefore exempt from scorn," Lancer interrupted, making me scoff in surprise. I should have known he'd side with a jock student. And it didn't help that Dash had that smug and proud look on his face. Oh, I would have just loved to wipe that look off his face with a blast of my ghost powers.

"You three, however," Lancer continued, gaining my attention again, "are not. I'll map out your punishment when I return. Mr. Baxter, watch the door." And with that, those two were gone as Dash closed the door behind them.

"We've got to find Sam!" Tucker yelled as they both stood up. I stayed in my seat. I was still a bit dizzy from my hit to the head. "For some reason, I feel like I got her kidnapped."

"Maybe because you told the ghost she changed the menu!? How about that?!" Danny yelled, making me snicker as Tucker sniffed the air again.

"That steak is still in the building," Tucker alerted. "20 yards, tops!"

"I'd say impressive like earlier, but now that's just plan sad," I said as I grabbed my head, rubbing the now forming lump that's there. Danny had walked over to the monitors to look for something on the screens.

"Check it out," Danny said, pointing to a screen as I stood up, trying to be careful with how fast I walk. "Meat trail." I looked at the monitor and saw exactly what Danny saw. There was a meat trail by a box of what looked to be beef.

Danny immediately turned into his ghost from while I turned into mine. We both looked at Tucker, grabbed him, and phased through the floor. And as we did that, I could hear the door opening as Lancer came back in. Oh, boy. More trouble.

We made it to the basement, seeing all this meat around in boxes, which couldn't have been healthy since meat should go in a fridge. Of course, Tucker looked to be in Heaven.

"Sweet mother of mutton!" He yelled as he raced over to a box and hugged it. "I've dreamed of it, but I never thought I'd live to see it!"

"How is that we have the ghost powers, and you're the weird kid?" Danny asked, making me snicker before going on alert as the lunch lady's laugh was heard through the air. We raced over to a box and hid behind it as we looked around the corner, seeing Sam trapped in a pile of meat while the lunch lady ghost was trying to feed it to her.

"My dear child, meat is good for kids," The lunch lady stated. "It helps them grow and makes them smile. Why won't you eat it?"

"We don't need meat! That's fact!" Sam declared, making me sigh as I pinched the bridge of my nose. She was definitely a strong valued girl.

"SILENCE!" The lunch lady yelled. "You need discipline! Manners! Respect! You know where that comes from?! Meat! Chicken, or fish?" She said the last part sweetly as I rolled out of hiding.

"Briar, what are you-!" Danny began to ask before I stopped him.

"I've being doing this for 4 years," I said. "I'll be fine. Tucker, you try to get Sam out of that pile of meat. Danny and I will handle the ghost."

"Way ahead of you!" Tucker exclaimed as he held up a knife and fork. I slapped my forehead once again today. I think that's a new record.

Danny flew out before I could say anything, making me take flight as well. I watched as Danny punched the ghost, sending her flying into a wall. I'm shocked she didn't go THROUGH the wall, but what can I say. But sadly, she didn't seem amused. Danny took to the sky again and went to kick her in the face, when she grabbed his ankle. I sighed as I rushed in and shot an ecto-ray at her. Now, you would think after four years my aim would be perfect. Nope! I missed her by a centimeter.

"Don't you see!" The lunch lady began. "This is why you need meat! You're skin and bones!" She then threw Danny towards a wall. Thankfully, I watched as he turned intangible while falling and flipping on the floor, and having his bottom half phase through the wall. I sighed with relief at that.

Soon after, I jumped into action and tried my aim again. I shot an ecto-ray at the ghost, but she dodged it and made her own hand glow green. She was making all the meat on pointed sticks (don't know how to spell what they actually are) and had them fly towards Danny, who was standing up at this point and tangible.

I went to go after them, but a sharp pain in my head caused me to fall to the ground and grab the lump that was still there. I hate to say it, but I ended up reverting back to my human form as I fell back to the ground and just sat there. Dizzier than dizzy.

"Briar!" This was Sam I heard. I must have collapsed not that far from her and Tucker. Though I'm sure Tucker is too busy enjoying his feast to know what's going on. I looked up at Danny, seeing he split himself in two before the skewers could hit him. I was impressed. He was getting better and I hadn't even trained him yet. That's a sign of someone who was meant for the superhero destiny.

Eventually, the lunch lady made all the meat go around her quickly, turning her back into the meat monster (as well as freeing Sam in the process). I watched as my eyesight got blurrier and blurrier, telling me I really did do a number to my head. What a way to start my first day back at Casper High!

Soon, the meat monster grabbed Danny and threw him towards another wall again. Thankfully he phased right through it. Sam raced up to me and helped me stand up.

"Briar, are you okay?" She asked me with concern. My eyesight was still a bit blurry, but somehow it was going back to normal quicker than I thought it would. I guess I need to put ice on this right away when I get home.

Or maybe sooner. We'll see about sooner.

"I'm fine. My head just decided to hurt on me," I answered, still holding my head. But I soon looked behind me and saw the meat monster glaring at us. She roared at us as I turned back into my ghost form.

"Run?" I heard Tucker ask.

"RUN!" I yelled in return as I shot an ecto-ray from my hand at the monster, again, missing it entirely. I need to work on my aim. I heard Sam and Tucker screaming as they ran away, while I grabbed my head again, but this time it wasn't as bad. I quickly flew up to the sky and raced after them. The meat monster was following closely behind as I flew above Sam and Tucker.

This is insane! Where's Danny?! I thought with worry. And as if on cue, I saw him fly up beside me and grabbed Tucker, turning him intangible. I did the same with Sam right before we flew through the wall. I could hear the meat monster slam into it on the other end.

We found ourselves out of the school basement and flew for a little bit as we went tangible again. I looked over at Danny and saw this tired expression he was holding. I remember I felt the same way with my first ghost fight back in Ohio. But I was 10 then. I've gotten stronger since.

"Gee, Danny," Sam stated. "Fighting meat monsters. Flying through walls. You must be exhausted."

"What? Of course not! What would...give you that...idea?" As if on cue, Danny fell to the ground with Tucker. They rolled for a moment before stopping and Danny was passed out. He reverted back to his human form as I landed next to them with Sam.

"How are you not tired?" Tucker asked me, while I gave him an unamused look.

"Does 4 years not mean anything to you?" I asked with my arms crossed as I, too, reverted back to my human self.

"Right," Tucker said as he stood up. "But I was right! There was something different about you!"

"Oh, please!" Sam said. "I bet you didn't even put your finger on the fact that she has ghost powers like Danny!"

"No...no I didn't. But, I did know something was different!" Tucker retorted, making me roll my now brown eyes.

"Can we just get Danny home before Lancer shows up?" I said as Sam and Tucker walked over to Danny. Tucker at the arms while Sam picked up his legs. I just followed them to Danny's house. It sure was going to feel weird seeing the rest of the Fenton Family again.

We soon walked in through the front door, Sam and Tucker still carrying Danny while I stood beside them, arms crossed. Something must have happened just prier since I could hear Jazz trying to get something off her. The joys of having ghost hunting parents, am I right?

"Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton!" Tucker exclaimed, making me look right at them. Boy, Mr. Fenton sure likes fudge. He gained more weight from what I remember! "What a school day! Poor Danny nodded off! We decided to just bring him home and tuck him into bed with no parental interaction once so ever!" Again, I slapped my forehead. I swear, Tucker can be so stupid sometimes. But then again, I wasn't expecting what Sam said after.

"No need to get up. We know where to go. Bye!" And with that, they both were carrying Danny up the flight of stairs, heading to his bed room. I sighed at them before looking back at Mr. and Mrs. Fenton with a smile.

"Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton. I don't know if you recognize me," I started, earning a look from Mr. Fenton. Great, even Danny's dad doesn't know me anymore. "But I used to live next door when I was 8?" That got Mrs. Fenton's attention.

"Oh, my; gosh! Briar Winthrope!?" She exclaimed, making me sigh with relief.

"That's me," I said with a giggle.

"Oh, my...look at you!" She came over and gave me a big hug, which I expected to come from Mr. Fenton. But who am I to judge! Mrs. Fenton is better with the hugs than he is anyway. I hugged back for a while before we pulled away.

"You're growing up to be a beautiful young woman!" She said. "But I thought you moved away!"

"We did, but something came up where we had to move back," I answered.

"I heard about your father," She brought up, making my smile drop. "I'm so sorry, honey." I grinned at her, knowing she only meant to give her condolences. I'm sure everyone heard about it, but when I told Danny earlier, he didn't seem to know. Then again, that boy never paid attention to the news in his life. Why would he start at the age of 10?!

"Thanks," I said. "I really appreciate it."

"So, are you living next door again?" Mr. Fenton asked, now most likely recognizing me. Took him long enough.

"Afraid not," I said before smirking. I soon pointed out to the house across the street. "But I do live right there."

"Oh! How wonderful! We have our old neighbors again! I'm sure Danny is thrilled to have you back in his life!" Mrs. Fenton exclaimed.

"Oh, I'm sure he is," I said back with a giggle. "Well, it was nice to see you two again. I think I'm going to head upstairs to check on Danny. If that's okay."

"Oh, by all means! Go ahead!" Mrs. Fenton said with a smile. "Welcome back, Briar!"

"Thanks," I said as I headed up the stairs and went towards Danny's room, only to be stopped by a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see it was Jazz, looking at me like she was shocked. I've been getting a lot of that look today. And it seems she finally got whatever that was on her off.

"Briar, I wasn't expecting to see you here," She said.

"Yeah, I figured," I said with a giggle. "I just moved back yesterday. And met back up with Danny, Sam and Tucker today. Feels like I never left."

"That's good," She said in return. "Now, I know your parents are-"

"Uh, mom. Just...mom," I retorted, stopping her in her tracks. The look on her face showed remorse and sorrow as she finally remembered.

"I'm sorry. I totally-"

"It's fine, Jazz. What were going to say?"

"Oh, right! I know your, mom, is a ghost hunter. So if you need someone to talk to about it, I'm all ears." She finished, making me smile nervously at her.

"Thanks. I'll keep that in mind," I said before hearing Danny freak in his room. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a friend to go see." I must have ran faster than I thought I could since I made it to Danny's room and closed the door behind me. I sighed with relief to be away from Jazz. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but she tends to think she's a psychiatrist at 16. I don't need to talk to anyone about my mom's career path.

"What-what's going on?!" Danny asked.

"You passed out! We took you home! You've been asleep for four days!" Tucker announced, making me rush up to him and slap his arm.

"FOUR DAYS!?" Danny yelled as he sat up. Tucker just laughed.

"Nah, it's only been a couple hours," He corrected himself. I sighed as I crossed my arms.

"I guess catching up can really make time fly," I mumbled to myself.

"Knock it off, Tucker!" Sam said. "This is the second time today your carelessness almost got him killed! As well as Briar!"

"Oh, that's fine. Make me an afterthought. Don't care," I said sarcastically.

"Me?! I almost got them killed?! This only happened because you had to be unique! You had to take the meat away! And I'm going to get it back!" Tucker countered as he stormed out of the room.

"You want to change that menu back?! Well, you'll have to go through me to do it!" Sam followed after him as she slammed door behind her, leaving me and Danny in the room alone.

I sighed as I sat in one of his bean bag chairs. "Somethings never change."

"You got that right," Danny said.

"I mean, you know how stubborn Sam can be," I said, gaining his attention as he looked at me. "And Tucker...well, I can see him forgetting this." Danny snorted at that comment, making me giggle in response.

"It feels weird to have you back," He said, making me grin at him.

"It feels weird being back," I retorted. "But I'm just worried about Sam and Tucker right now."

"Well, I'm sure everything will be back to normal by tomorrow," Danny reassured.

I quickly got up in the morning and did my makeup. And no, I don't wear foundation. I just threw on some eye-shadow and eyeliner before heading out of the house. I grabbed an apple from the table on my way and stopped when I saw Danny leaving his house across the street. I smiled as I raced up to him and pounced on his back, making him stumble forward a bit. Thankfully, he maintained his balance.

"Hiya!" I said giggling, earning an almost glare from Danny. Though I could see he was trying not to laugh.

"Somethings never change," He repeated what I said the other night as I hopped off his back and smiled while we walked towards the school.

I wish we hadn't now.

"Or not," Danny stated, "maybe it'll be worse." All around campus were two different protests. On one side, there was a protest for meat. It had meat balloons, meat mascots, meat being cooked, meat everything. I knew this was immediately Tucker's doing. And on the other side was a protest for vegetarians. Sam's doing, obviously. They were chanting "Veggies now! Veggies forever!"

After a while, I saw both Tucker and Sam looking right at us before coming up and glaring at each other...with me and Danny in the middle.

"You guys together two protests in one night?" Danny asked.

"I'm impressed...and scared," I said as an add-on

"Meat eaters, Danny," Tucker began, "always ready to fight. And our high protein diets give us the energy to do it quickly."

"Ultra-recyclo vegetarians are always ready to protest, Briar! And because we don't have to waste time cooking our food, we can move even faster." Sam said.

"Don't you guys think this is a little extreme?" Danny asked as I stood there, mostly annoyed now.

"No choice, guys," Tucker said. "You're either with me-"

"Or against him!" Sam continued, and I suddenly got a little scared again.

"So, who's side are you on?!" They both said in unison right before the wind picked up, and everything blew around.

And of course, my ghost sense went off as laughter entered the air, making me look over at Danny with worry. Soon the meat swirled around in the sky before making the same meat monster from before, only it's bigger than the other day.

"IT'S LUNCHTIME!" She yelled, making everyone but me, Danny, Tucker, and Sam run away in fear. We just stood there in shock.

"Meat...WHY HAVE YOU BETRAYED ME?!" Tucker yelled, making me roll my eyes before going behind Danny.

"Guys, time to make up...NOW!" Danny yelled, making Tucker and Sam hug as Danny turned into his ghost form and took to the sky. I quickly raced to a tree and hid behind it, changing into my ghost form and flew after Danny.

I watched as he got punched up into the sky as I shot an ecto-ray at the meat monster. It hit it's target. "Yes! That target practice last night helped!" I exclaimed with a smile.

"You little-" The meat monster began to say before Danny came rushing back and punched the ghost so hard it exploded, and made a crater in the ground, with meat everywhere.

"Danny!" I yelled as I flew over to him and helped him out of the crater and the meat.

"Oh, dear, what a mess," The lunch lady said, making me get into a stance as Danny rubbed his shoulder. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I think so," Danny said.

"TOUGH!" The lunch lady yelled. "BECAUSE YOU BEING OKAY ISN'T PART OF MY BALANCED DIET OF DOOM!"

Soon, little meat monsters appeared around us. Danny kicked them out of existence while I used my ecto-ray on them. But they soon reappeared.

"Wasn't expecting that," He said before reverting back to his human form. "Or that." I slapped my forehead out of annoyance yet again. How many times have I slapped my forehead now? Because now I've definitely lost count.

Anyway, I got into a stance and was about to attack some with my ecto-rays when the lunch lady herself shot me away and making me hit the brick wall of the school...and black out.

"..i...r..."

"Br..a..r..."

"Briar!"

I woke up and saw Danny, Tucker, and Sam all around me with worry on their faces. Danny had reverted back to his human self. I must have too since when I put my hand to my forehead, I saw my normal skin and not the glove of my ghost form.

"What happened?" I asked as Danny helped me sit up. "Where's the ghost?"

"My parents have their moments," Danny said as he held up the Fenton Thermos in his hand. He told me about it last night.

"Ghosts ahead," A robotic voice spoke up as Mr. and Mrs. Fenton walked up to us with this strange device in Mr. Fenton's hand. Danny hid the thermos behind his back. "You'd have to be a complete moron to not see the ghosts directly ahead." Danny and I gave a nervous smile to Mr. and Mrs. Fenton as they looked up at us.

"Oh, sorry, dad," Danny said, pointing his thumb behind him. "You just missed him."

"We've got a runner!" Mr. Fenton yelled before racing in the direction Danny said with Mrs. Fenton following behind.

"Great. Back to square one," Jazz exclaimed before stomping off in the opposite direction.

"So, you're not gonna tell them?" Tucker asked us, making me give him a look.

"I've had mine for 4 years. Like I'm telling anyone else!" I exclaimed as I crossed my arms over my chest, while side-eyeing Danny.

"Nah, I think I've finally figured what these powers are for," Danny answered. "They make me-" I froze when I saw Mr. Lancer's hand on Danny's shoulder as he looked up at the teacher.

"In a world, of trouble."

After a while of cleaning the parking lot at school all day, we were allowed to go home. I decided to take in the Amity Park air up on my roof, in my ghost form. I grinned down at the street, seeing cars drive by and teens walking with either their boyfriend or girlfriend. Watching all these people sent a bout of wonder to my mind. Wonder of what could have happened if I wasn't holding that ecto-weapon in the crash, or if we never moved away and I was around to see the accident Danny was in. Though I know time travel isn't a reality concept, I still wouldn't mind going back to see what the alternate timelines would have been.

Absentmindedly, my eyes went up to Danny's bed room window, seeing him on his computer before looking out to see me. I grin and wave slightly to him, which he returns before cringing at something. Mrs. Fenton probably called up to him to go to bed now. That, or his music was too loud and Jazz complained. Either way, he gave a sorrowful smile to me before leaving his window.

I sighed as I looked up at the moon, watching a shooting star fly by. "I wish you could be here, dad," I spoke, wiping a tear away quickly. "One day...I'll make you proud with these powers."
