Thank you all and stay turn for my next story, it should be coming up within the nest week or so.
Anakin looked around at the mess Palpatine left behind. All around him Clone were carrying their dead brothers away giving them the final resting place they deserve. He saw Rex standing off to the side and knew even thought he was trying not to show it, he was feeling the effect of the lost.
They managed to save many of them and are planning are removing their chips as soon as they can, but it doesn't make up for the many on both sides that lost their lives.
He walked over to him and saw him stand straighter looking every bit the brave solider he proved himself to be. "Captain."
"Sir." He saluted.
"You did good today. You fought bravely." Anakin told him.
"Well from what I heard you are the one that killed Palpatine. You are the true hero of the day, sir." Rex said.
Anakin shook this head. "No. We all played a part in it. It couldn't have happened without everyone." He paused. "What do you plan on doing now that the war is over?"
"The Senate said they would still need us, if we were willing to still fight for them even without the Jedi." He paused thinking he was to blame for that. "All our lives, we were raised to be soldiers and to follow orders. It doesn't seem right to have a choice in the matter. I know some will leave and start their own lives, but I'm not sure."
"I understand. I feel the same way." He softly said realizing how similar they were. Both raised to fight. Both forced to give up any sort of childhood and life. Both basically slaves to a cause they don't fully believe in or had a choice in. "Hopefully our paths will cross again, Rex."
"Thank you, Sir." Rex said and Anakin noticed a small smile forming on his face, before he walked away to help his brothers.
"You truly are no longer that vile Sith, I've known for the past couple years." He turned around and saw Obi-wan walking over to him.
"No, he still in there, but I've found better ways of keeping him tame." He gave him a half smile.
"You have come a long way. Don't forget that. You have proven the prophecy true and even thought you did it recklessly, I am proud of you." Obi-wan smiled.
Anakin rolled his eyes still not believing the so called chosen one prophecy. "All because of your training."
"Hey! Don't forget about me. I helped just as much as he did in ridding the darkness from you." Ahsoka said joining the conversation.
"Of course, Snips. Can't forget about you." Anakin chuckled.
"And don't you forget it. Just because you won't see us every day, doesn't mean you can forget about us." Ahsoka sternly said as Anakin smiled.
"What are you guys gonna do now? Live a normal life? Rebuild the Jedi order?" Anakin asked.
"We have thought greatly of that. First we need to find the remaining Separatist leaders and all Palpatine little minions, with no leader that should be easy. I imagine they are all running around lost and confused." Obi-wan said.
"Hopefully with Palpatine out of the way, they can finally get a proper sentences for their years of crimes." Ashoka said.
"After that, I think we will try and rebuild the Jedi order, but look at our past mistakes and try to make it better." Obi-wan said.
"How is Master Yoda gonna feel about all that change?" Anakin asked thinking of the little green Jedi, so set in his ways.
"He has great resentment for the old ways and how it failed the past Jedi, hopefully he will come around." Obi-wan said. "Hopefully you will come around and help us." He asked hopefully.
Anakin was at a loss for words. He ran his fingers through his hair, not sure of what to say. "I, I don't know."
"Think about it, please. You have time." Obi-wan said.
"I'm starting a family. I can't be gone all the time." Anakin said.
"I don't expect that, but just think about it." Obi-wan said.
"Very well. I'll think about it." He answered.
"It's gonna be real quiet without you around, Skyguy." Ahsoka told him.
"Funny I was thinking the same thing about you." He gave her a smirk. "Have either of you seen Padme?"
"The last I saw her, she want to Palpatine's office." Obi-wan said.
Anakin raised his eyebrows, confused of what she could possibly be doing there.
Padme's eyes were glued to Palpatine's computer looking through files upon files of documents and reports he had in here. She grew angrier and angrier seeing how little he cared about the Republic. She found countless reports and documents she spent hours on completing that he didn't even bother reading. She felt foolish and naïve, that she was involved in helping him come to power so easily.
"Even with that scowl and your eyebrows knitted together, you are truly the most beautiful thing I have ever seen." She looked up seeing Anakin standing in the doorway looking at her.
She rolled her eyes and shook her head. "You're a terrible liar."
"You can't even say that with a straight face." He said walking over to her and leaning over her shoulder to see what she was looking at it. "What are you looking for anyways?"
"Ackbarr mentioned to me more about that weapon Palpatine was planning. I wanted to see if I could find anything else on it." Padme said as her eyes looked over every file.
"I'm not even sure how true that was. It was probably just a scare tactic he was using." Anakin said.
"Really? Than what is this?" Padme smirked as a hologram of what looked to be a large space station appeared before them.
"A space station?" Anakin asked looking closely at it.
"A space station otherwise known as the Death Star with the power to blow up entire planets." Padme looked up at him.
"How is that even possible?" Anakin asked trying to think back to all the conversations with Palpatine and never remembering him talking about it. "He had to have been planning this for years."
"Probably. Hopefully, this is the only file." She said hitting a few buttons on the computer until the hologram went away and she pulled out a small disk. "Do you think he informed the Separatist about it?"
"Doubtful. He hated Gunray and all of them. He planned on killing them soon after he gained power. They were just more pawns in his plan." Anakin crossed his arms.
"I'm going to show Bail and Mon this when they arrive. Than hopefully we can destroy it. The galaxy doesn't need anything with this kind of power." Padme said.
Anakin looked at Padme still petite form, it was crazy to think in just a few months she could start showing and their child would be closer and closer to being brought into the galaxy.
"Would you stop looking at me like that?" She smirked at him.
"What are we going to do now? No Palpatine? No war? Our lives are going to be getting pretty boring." Anakin wrapped his arms around her waist.
Padme moved her hands to his hair, running her fingers through it. "Move to Naboo, get married, have our baby, and not live in a constant fear and stress."
Anakin chuckled. "As long as I'm with you that sounds like a pretty okay life to me." He smiled as she raised her head and planted a kiss on his lips.
"I love you, Ani" Padme said looking into his blue eyes.
"I love you more than you will ever know." Anakin said as she rested her head on his chest and he exhaled and shut his eyes, feeling for the first time in his life complete and utter peace and happiness.
Five years later
"Do you and Anakin plan on doing anything special for your wedding anniversary?" Jobal asked her daughter.
"I think we want to take Luke and Leia somewhere. Maybe to Cloud City or somewhere else they haven't been." She thought looking at her mom's hologram form on her holocomm.
"You know we can watch them. You don't have to take them with you." Jobal told her.
"I know. I know. I just want them to see everything and we will bring 3PO if we want alone time." She smiled.
"Very well, Padme." Her mother gave a small chuckle.
"Besides," Padme started to say before hearing a loud crash. Her eyes grew big fearing the worse.
"Ummm, Padme." She heard her husband sheepishly say.
She shook her head and laughed. "I guess I should see what that was. Bye, mom." She said turning off the holocomm.
She sighed and stood up and walked out of the room to see what they have gotten into this time.
She went into the kid's room and crossed her arms looking at the mess of toys around the room. Her mouth fell open until she saw Anakin laying on the floor with Luke and Leia wrestling and jumping off of him. Slowly, a smile appeared on her face, looking at the craziness that was her family.
"Are you going to stand there and watch or are you going to help me with these menaces?" Anakin joked.
"I don't know. I think I enjoy my view from here." Padme laughed.
Anakin glared at her. "Do you hear that? Mommy doesn't think we are a match for her. I think we should prove to her just how tuff we truly are."
"Don't you dare Anakin Skywalker." She laughed slowly backing up as Anakin stood up and Luke and Leia looked at her with true mischief in their eyes.
Quickly she ran away hearing the sounds of little feet and Anakin's boots hitting the ground. Before she had the chance to do anything, she felt strong arms wrap around her waist and tackle her to the couch. Suddenly she felt two more tiny bodies around her and she looked up seeing the smiling faces of her two beautiful children. Two of the biggest surprised of her life.
Luke the slipping image of Anakin at that age and Leia looking so much like herself with her brown hair and brown eyes. She still couldn't believe they had twins. It would seem both her and Anakin were right about what they thought the gender, just neither of them pieced together, it would be both.
"I don't think this was a fair fight." She said trying to hold back her laughter.
"You face says others wise. It would seem time away from the Senate and politics has made you a terrible liar." Anakin said smirking down at her.
"You're lucky you're cute." She glared at him jokingly.
"I've been told that a lot." Anakin cockily smiled at her.
Padme shot forward knocking Anakin down as both kids attacked him as well. "You're growing weak. Maybe you should visit Obi-wan and Ahsoka at the Jedi Temple and get some more training."
Anakin's mouth fell open. "You are lucky I love you."
"I know." She leaned down and kissed him as both kids ran away in disgust.
"Well that's one way to get them to leave." he said moving his hands to her waist. "Now about that comment."
Padme leaned down biting her lip, which was driving Anakin crazy. "What are you going to do about it?" She whispered.
"Oh I'll show you." Anakin said moving his hands up her back as her lips moved to his neck.
"Mom! Dad! Leia's hit me!" Luke shouted.
"I did not! I only hit his arm softly!" Leia shouted.
"They always pick the perfect timing to fight don't they?" Anakin asked slowly removing his hands from her shirt.
"We can pick this back up after they go to sleep." She gave him one more kiss, biting his lip as she pulled away.
"I'm holding you to that." He told her as she stood up and walked away with a smirk still on her face.
He laid there and just thought wow, who would have thought his life would have turned out like this. A former slave, turned Sith and is now a husband to the most perfect human being on this planet, the father to two amazing children, and what Ahsoka would call a grey Jedi even though he didn't see himself as that. He still felt some darkness inside of him, but with the help of his family, Obi-wan, and Ahsoka, he managed to turn that all too good. They were right, there was goodness in him even when he didn't believe it. It just took Palpatine being out of his life to finally see it.
