Redbat132: Okay. I was originally going to have this in the other collaboration story, 'Home and Body', Steel and I made. But then I realize it would be too confusing and decided to have them separated. In here, is what's happening in New York city, after Star/Rose left to Wakanda. I'm hoping to post a new chapter of this at the same time there's a new chapter in the other story. I have reasons in connecting the two. Hope you all enjoy.
It was another typical night in New York City. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was doing a solo-patrol around his home before heading back to S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy and then home.
"Talk about a slow night. There doesn't seem to be any activity within the last hour," Spider-Man said to himself while web-swinging across town. "Maybe I can go home early and check on Aunt May."
Just then, his wrist communicator was buzzing; meaning someone is calling him.
"Spoke too soon. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man speaking," Spidey replied, answering the call.
"Spider-Man, it's Iron Spider. You need to come inside the National Bank immediately," the Tech-Spider responded. "There's been a strange occurrence that happened there."
"What kind of strange occurrence?" Spidey questioned.
"I think it's best you find out yourself to believe it. Agent Venom, Scarlet Spider, Kid Arachnid, and Spider-Woman are already here with me, as well," Iron Spider added. "Get here as soon as you can."
After hanging up, Spider-Man couldn't help but wonder what the situation could be involving all the Web-Warriors that's considered weird.
'Whatever it is, this can't be good,' he thought to himself, making a quick turn to his destination. 'I just had to jinx myself.'
Spider-Man came as fast as he could to the National Bank where his Web-Warrior team was.
"I'm here! What's the status on the battle?" Spidey asked Iron Spider.
"Well, to start, the moment we got in, our criminal was already stopped mid-robbery before we could do anything," Iron Spider explained, showing his spider friend the way. "Nothing was stolen, for the most part."
"Maybe one of our students at S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy had something to do with it as extra credit?" Spider-Man guessed.
"Not likely. Unless you know someone capable to do that," Iron Spider said, pointing at the villain.
Spider-Man turned his head with his eyes wide to see Batroc the Leaper completely paralyzed in shock. His skin seemed a pit pale from whatever did this to him. The only thing noticeable and different on this French baddie besides his skin tone was the strange glittery black hole/bad scratch marks tagged on his chest, back, and neck. Even appeared to be coursing some small black veins.
He also saw Spider-Woman and Scarlet checking around for any clues while Agent Venom and Kid Arachnid were keeping an eye on Batroc.
"Yikes! Is he…?" Spider-Man was too afraid to finish that sentence.
"No, Batroc is still alive. I scanned him the moment we first got here," Iron Spider assured. "He's in some sort of hibernating state. Like a prehistoric creature being stuck on ice for millions of years."
"Wish we knew who the punk was that did it," Scarlet replied, coming down from looking. "Whoever stopped Batroc covered their tracks very well."
"All except those strange marks on that French weirdo," Spider-Woman added, already next to Scarlet until she turned her head to notice something. "Agent Venom! Stop that!"
Turns out, Agent Venom was moving Batroc's arm and finger to look like the French villain was picking his own nose.
"Relax, Spider-Woman. This is only temporary," Agent Venom replied, taking out his phone to catch a picture of this.
"Ugh, boys!" Spider-Woman groaned, facepalming.
"Tell me about it," Scarlet deadpanned.
"Focus, Web-Warriors. Let's bring Batroc back to S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy and see if we can find a lead to this new mystery vigilante," Spider-Man ordered.
"Uh, couldn't we just leave Batroc to the cops? Not that I don't mind the idea of bringing him back to S.H.I.E.L.D. to lock up and study him further, but this has creepy zombie infection scenario written all over it," Kid Arachnid said.
"No, we can't. The police won't even know what to do with Batroc in whatever state he's in. He'll just be stuck like this for who knows how long," Spider-Man reasoned, already taking the lead with Agent Venom carrying the baddie with one arm and the others following. "Besides, I doubt that these black marks are contagious."
Suddenly, Spidey's spider-sense went off that made him stop at his tracks just in time from going out of the bank. Turns out, something big came from above and crashed on top of the road. It startled the team a bit. The Web-Warriors looked closer to see it was Juggernaut…who also appeared to be paralyzed with the same marks Batroc has that were located around the second villain's arms.
"You were saying?!" Kid Arachnid exclaimed.
"Okay…I'm definitely detecting a creepy pattern here," Spider-Man responded.
"Great. More trash to pick up and examine," Scarlet deadpanned.
Little did the Web-Warriors knew, that their mysterious attacker was watching them from above on top of the buildings. It appeared to be a tall female. All she did was smile her sparkly black lips to reveal white razor-sharp teeth underneath before taking her leave. For this mysterious being has much more to do.
Next morning, in a certain house in Queens, Peter Parker was already up to come down stairs to enjoy some breakfast with his aunt.
"Good morning, Peter. How was patrol last night? You and Ben seemed to have arrived later than usual," May responded, already making some pancakes.
"Sorry, Aunt May. We kind of had an encounter with something that's left a few marks on a few baddies that's put them in a paralyzing state," Peter explained.
May blinked. "What do you mean 'paralyzing'?" she asked.
"I mean like, 'completely frozen to the point you can move their limbs and shove their own finger up their nose!'" Peter exclaimed. "It reaches new levels of creepy!
"Oh, dear," May gasped in concern. "What could have caused that? Some illness? It's not contagious enough to get you and Ben sick, is it?"
"Relax, May. It's not an illness nor is it contagious," Peter assured. "We're still piecing it out on what did it. Our only clues are weird black marks on them. Like some kind of large injection or bite."
Around the conversation, Ben Reilly came down with his eyes on his phone. As if he was texting to someone.
"Who are you texting?" asked May.
"Uh, no one!" Ben replied, quickly putting his phone away.
"Ben, it's fine. There's no need to hide information about checking you-know-who," Peter responded, already having pancakes.
Ben sighed in defeat. "Okay, it's Star," he confessed.
"Star? I thought you were texting Cho on the results involving last night!" Peter responded in shock, only to laugh a bit. "I'm kidding. I knew you were texting Rose. So, how was her arrival at Wakanda?"
"Did she travel okay?" May asked.
"She's fine. Had a small sickness along the way, but otherwise, still good," Ben responded, bringing out a selfie photo of Rose at her new home. "It's already past lunch from where she's at."
"Makes sense. Wakanda is practically six hours ahead of the time where we live," Peter pointed out.
"So, did Cho get results about this 'frozen as a statue' sickness?" asked May.
"Almost. It seems hard to piece out, but this was the result of a rare venom injection," Ben explained. "We're still working on more details. Whoever did it was elusive enough to not leave any fingerprints."
"Then let's not waste anymore time waiting. Fuel up some delicious pancakes and suit up," Peter replied, already munching on his breakfast.
"Can't argue with you, Peter," Ben replied lowly, already sitting down to eat.
After breakfast, Spider-Man and Scarlet Spider headed straight to S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy to debunk the venom mystery. Along with the Web-Warriors showing up, as well.
"Okay. So far, someone or something is stunning baddies. Question is, who or what?" Spider-Man asked out loud.
"As long as it's not a zombie apocalypse, I'm good." said Kid Arachnid.
"I'm pretty sure it's not that," Iron Spider droned.
"It still doesn't explain why this Street Stunner is doing all of this," Kid Arachnid said.
"Street Stunner?" Scarlet questioned.
"Yeah. Because it's someone stunning people around the streets," the young black spider replied.
Scarlet rolled his eyes.
"Well, we need to find him and nip this problem in the bud before things get worse," said Spider-Man. "We'll all spread out around town and look for any signs of him."
"What kind of signs would lead to this stun guy?" asked Agent Venom.
"Uh, stunned people?" Scarlet pointed out.
"Oh," Agent Venom blinked on not noticing the obvious.
"Everyone, split up and search a different area around New York. If you spot our Street Stunner or any other victims, respond," Spider-Man responded.
Hours later, Spidey and the Web-Warriors checked everywhere but with no Street Stunner in sight.
Spider-Man sighed, as he stuck to a building in Times Square. "No sign of the stunner," His eye caught the big screen monitor tune into the Daily Bugle. "Great. Another bit of color commentary from my number one fan," He waited for J. Jonah Jameson's smug mug to appear on the screen.
However, instead of Jameson, it was a female reporter on the screen with short blonde hair, brown eyes, and a dark blue blazer.
"Good afternoon, New York. This is Joan Martin reporting live about a few strange occurrences in the city," the young woman explained.
Spider-Man felt like he was hit by a freight train. Jameson WASN'T on the news trash talking him?! This wasn't the norm.
"Known super villain criminals, Batroc the Leaper, Juggernaut, and Scorpion have been caught mid-robbery in different places," Joan responded, showing different images of the baddies in different locations with the same black marks. "Despite not injured, nothing was stolen. The only one question remains: Is this the work of a new super hero like Spider-Man looking after his citizens or the work of a new villain to take out the competition?"
"I don't believe it!" Spider-Man was dumbfounded. "Jameson isn't on the big screen and I'm NOT being blamed for the stunned villains?! What is wrong with this picture?!"
"Spidey! Are you seeing the news?" Kid Arachnid replied through the comm-link. "Jameson is not on today! Talk about lucky!"
"Never mind that. It looks like there's another villain paralyzed we missed," Iron Spider responded back through the link. "We need to find Scorpion and bring him back to S.H.I.E.L.D Academy with the others."
Spider-Man looked over the photo of Scorpion on Time Square, recognizing the place he's at. "I think I might know where he is. Meet me at Chinatown near twenty-two street."
As the Web-Slinging hero hurries to the location, he still couldn't help but think about where Jameson is. Which is saying a lot. And whether this had something to do with the Street Stunner or not.
