Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, time for another story, this one about Halo. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own halo, Microsoft and 343 do.

The D79-TC Pelican beelined it for the secret shipyard hidden near the planet.

"Come on, we need to leave. Those Covie sobs are going to find the ship sooner…" A hanger officer stated before typing on his datapad.

This ship? The one trying to escape the doomed planet of reach like the ark it seemed like? The Infinity Class-Supercarrier: the UNSC Eternity, the sister ship of the UNSC Infinity, still under construction back at Earth.

The ship was to be Humanity's secret weapon against the covenant, a sliver bullet in a gun running empty on ammunition.

Now? The vessel served as the last beacon of hope for Reach. Eternity had been docked with the space station during its final construction.

The ship had been used as an evacuation ship for anyone still trying to escape the planet.

"Captain. I…." Commander Conall cut the Lieutenant off as he crossed his arms.

"Soldier? I am well aware of what your reports said… there is nobody left alive as an officer on Reach. This is our last duty to Reach… making sure every human we can get aboard gets here safely." Conall stated.

The commander knew the captain was trying to ferry as many people to safety.

The ship shook slightly as it detached from the station, a final round of Pelicans with F-41 Broadsword fighters was approaching the massive carrier.

"Prepare for departure… We're following the Pillar of Autumn." Conall ordered. He hadn't seen the captain yet, but he had gotten his orders from him.

The Pelicans broke off as a trio of CRS-Class Light Cruisers started to round the planet like hungry sharks.

"Damn it all…." Conall heard and turned to see Captain Ryder, a tall man with black spiky hair and cold blue eyes. He walked down the steps and up to the bridge window.

"Sir, I didn't think you'd be out here…" Ryder turned to his second in command and crossed his arms.

"We need to leave after this… ready the dorsal MACS… not the main guns. We're fleeing right after this." He ordered.

The captain had the very obvious signs of a soldier who hadn't gotten all the sleep he would normally get and was tired.

Everyone on Eternity was tired. The ship was running on something of a skeleton crew and the remaining crew was just trying to save everyone they could before they fled the planet.

The onager canons locked onto the cruisers while the final human craft vanished into a hanger bay.

It took only 2 shots 3 of the smaller portable MAC canons to split the vessels apart. They were small fish compared to the small armada of CCS-Class Battle Cruisers and CAS-Assault Carriers barring down on their ship.

"Helmsman? Get us the hell out of here before they turn us into floating slag." Conall ordered as the supercarrier finally fled the doomed graveyard of the planet.

Ryder turned to the Commander and sighed before rubbing his temples.

"Sir. I know what ONI said, they…" The Captain held up his hand and walked away.

Conall turned towards the rest of the bridge staff. Eternity was a sitting duck and the super carrier was the only hope humanity seemed to have left.

But even the optimistic commander knew the supercarrier was pathetic compared to the Covenant empire. It was one ship carrying what amounted to 4000… Perhaps less, staff.

Even with all the military vehicles, massive amount of firepower and its ability to deploy moderate naval forces?

Eternity and Infinity were the best and most powerful ships within the UNSC Navy… and yet it would be ripped apart the by the forces surrounding Reach.

One ship couldn't handle an entire naval war and yet it seemed that Eternity was one of the only ships left within the navy.

The reason they were pursuing the Autumn? Nobody wanted Captain Keyes killed in the line of duty… the man was the last hope for the UNSC Navy besides the staff at Earth.

They were willing to risk the best ship in the entire Navy to help secure one ship.

The irony wasn't lost on the crew… But they had already chosen their form of damnation.

They could only hope that no other Covenant forces had been pursing them.

Author Notes

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out that this story won't be updated often. Next chapter is going to be in 2 weeks and will show Eternity arriving at Halo and the opening of the battle for Halo. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

Ps: The poll for Byko's flagship ends in another week. I am giving it one more week for now.
