Why Don't You Love Me Anymore?
A/N - It has been ages since I've written for True Blood, but I got this request on Tumblr and I just had to write it!
Ana sat up in bed and realized that Eric wasn't next to her. She frowned.
That had been happening a lot more lately. He very rarely went to bed with her anymore and she couldn't remember the last time he'd kissed her.
She got up and went downstairs.
Eric's house was light-tight in case they had to stay awake during the day. But it was night so the blinds were up, letting her look out into the vast forest behind the house.
She'd tried to get Eric to build a pool, but he refused. Ana had gotten spoiled by Godric's pool the last time they stayed with him. It'd been years since she'd last seen his maker, but they talked on the phone every now and then. Ana entered the kitchen and found Pam sitting on the counter flipping through a magazine. "Where's Eric?" Ana asked.
"In Bon Temp."
Bon Temp? Why would he be there?
"He'll be at Fangtasia later."
Ana nodded. She hated Eric's bar. She was all for vampire and humans living together, but did he have to be so ostentatious? She yearned for the days were she, Eric, and Godric stuck to the shadows.
Ana turned away from Pam went upstairs as bloody tears started to stream down her cheeks. She couldn't take this anymore. The way Eric was treating her was downright cruel. They'd been married for well over four decades. Now he treated her like she didn't exist. Ana went over to the closet and pulled out a suitcase.
Ana walked into Eric's office and stood in front of his desk.
"What Ana? I'm busy."
"I'm going to Dallas."
Eric stopped what he was doing and looked up. "Excuse me?"
"You heard me. I'm going to Dallas."
Eric leaned back in his office chair. "And why would you do that?"
"Because it's obvious that you no longer care for me. We've barely spent any time together lately."
Eric sighed. "I don't want to fight with you."
"You don't want to do anything with me anymore! You don't kiss me! You won't go to bed with me! We haven't had sex in nearly six months!"
Just as Eric was about to open his mouth to yell back at her, Sookie stormed in. "Eric! I need to…" Sookie stopped when she noticed the dark haired woman glaring at Eric.
"Sookie," Eric said smiling, "What a pleasant surprise."
"Eric…who is she?" Sookie asked, pointing at Ana.
"Sookie, this is my wife Anastasia. Ana, Sookie Stackhouse."
Ana took one whiff of her blood and realized what was going on. The way Eric smiled at Sookie was the way he used to smile at her. Ana turned away from the blonde woman. "Eric, please have Chow book me a flight to Dallas." With that, she walked out of Eric's office.
"Ana!" Eric yelled after her. He flashed in front of her, fangs out. He grabbed her by the throat, but Ana didn't back down.
Eric didn't scare her. He never had.
"You're not going anywhere."
"Oh yeah? Says who?"
"You're my wife."
Ana laughed bitterly. "Am I? You don't treat me like one. Sookie didn't even know who I was!" Ana's tone softened. "I used to be your queen Eric. We used to take trips to far off places. Places where it was just the two of us. You clearly don't love me anymore."
"Ana, please." Eric was begging at this point. He never begged.
"Let me go, Eric."
As much as he didn't want to, he did. He turned away from her, unable to look at her any longer, and walked over to Chow. "I need a flight to Dallas," he said.
"For two?"
Eric shook his head. "No. Just one." When Eric turned back around, Ana was gone.
"You must be an idiot if you're just going to let her walk away from you," Pam told him.
"What am I supposed to do, Pamela?"
"Go after her! It's obvious that that's what she wants!"
Eric flashed out of the bar and ran to the house as Ana was coming down the steps with her suitcase.
"Eric, what are you doing here?"
"Asking you not to go."
"What?"
Eric walked up to her and cupped her face in his hands. "I know I've been a bad husband."
"You've been a shit husband."
Eric smiled. He'd always loved her dirty mouth. "Let me make it up to you."
"How?"
Eric gave her a wicked smirk before he slammed his lips onto hers.
It's my headcanon that Ana is actually the grand-duchess Anastasia Romanov. And yes, I know in the books that Eric's maker turned the czar-to-be Alexi Romanov but this is fanfiction. Let me have my fun.
