Disclaimer: I do not own Merlin, Supergirl or anything else you may recognize

Welcome people, to Part 5 of the 'Heroes' series at last. Got started on this sooner than I had thought, but it's because I got some help on this story.

So I would like to thank adam199118, Bl4ckHunter and Arrowverse Fan 217 for their help with this story. It is very much appreciated. So thank you to you three.

And some of this is inspired by Michael Weyer's 'Of Kryptonians and Queens', which is also a similar kind of story, so thank you to him. Some plot points and scenes will be similar to his story, mostly in this chapter and the next, though I've already told him that.

But a lot of this is going to be different from his story as well.

And this isn't just a Merlin/Supergirl crossover as the other fandoms that are part of the 'Heroes' series will also be part of this eventually.

Obviously, Lena being Morgana has been done before in fanfiction, but I hope to make a little more out of it by a reveal I have planned for later in this story.

Also, for this story, imagine the very last scene of the 'Merlin' show never happened at all. It won't fit for this series, and honestly, that scene is too heartbreaking for me.

So I hope everyone enjoys.

Chapter 1- A horrifying revelation

Earth-38, National City

Kara Danvers aka Supergirl was flying across the sky, not feeling stressed for the first time in months. During the battle against Thanos and Morgoth, the first Dark Lord of Middle-earth had captured her and J'onn and subjected them both to torture of the mind. In her case, he had also almost stolen her powers until they both had been rescued.

Following that, Lord Elrond had snapped his fingers while wearing the Infinity Gauntlet to wipe out their enemies and had lost his life in the process.

After that, Kara had returned to her world and had started helping the people, who were still reeling from the after-effects of the 'Dusting', as it was called. The Dusted people had returned, but several accidents had happened when they had been dusted, and that had been devastating and destructive, as it had caused a lot of loss of life as well.

So Kara had been helping people out of peril for a few months, before having to help out her other friends against a planet of Dragons.

But now, people had finally started moving on from the Dusting, and she was also moving on from the trauma Morgoth had brought upon her.

To make things better, her aunt Astra was alive again, and on their side. Though everyone could feel the tension in the room whenever Astra and Alex were together, so both women tried their best to avoid each other, not that Kara could blame them.

That was when her hearing picked up a strange sound of some kind. It sounded like the fabric of space was being ripped open.

She pressed her comms and asked. "I sense a disturbance. Does anybody copy?"

She heard Winn's voice say. "We are detecting some kind of portal four blocks from where you are, Supergirl."

"On it", Kara said as she flew to the designated spot, using her hearing to find the portal. For a second, she thought it was Cisco or an extrapolator, but this portal's color was very different from theirs.

A hooded figure arrived through the portal, a large cloak flowing on the back, and a staff in the hand, which reminded Kara of Gandalf and Saruman.

Kara tried to see who it was but even her X-Ray vision couldn't see who he was, to her shock.

"Who are you?" Kara asked.

"I am not from around here", the figure said. "And I am here to finish something I should have finished a long time ago."

"I have no idea what you mean", Kara said, though she had a bad feeling about this.

"I am here for Lena Luthor", the figure said all of a sudden, shocking her.

"I'm sorry, but Lena is a friend", Kara said. "So imagine my reaction on finding out a mysterious hooded figure who came through a portal says she is his mission."

"Lena Luthor is not your friend", the figure said as he moved towards her. "She doesn't care about anyone. She is not Lena Luthor at all. You just don't see it yet."

"See what?" Kara asked as the figure raised his hand.

Kara reacted on instinct and flew at him, but the man somehow managed to dodge it as if she was in slow motion.

He was now behind her and whispered some incantation before pointing his staff at her. A blast of telekinetic energy hit her, and she cried out in surprise as she was blown away by a bit.

She turned around but the figure was already in front of her as if she had been in slow motion. He put his hand to her forehead and said. "Now you will see."

He whispered something and Kara gasped as she fell down, feeling as if something was coming over her mind, though it felt different from the Dominators.

"Back off!"

The figure turned around to see Alex and several DEO agents pointing guns at him.

"You shall not come in my way!" The figure said as he slammed his staff on the ground and a shockwave was created, knocking them all down.

When they got up, the figure was gone.

"Kara!" Alex yelled as she ran to her sister and helped her up. "You okay?"

"No….." Kara trailed off. "It's about…..Lena. She….she, she is…not real!"

Later, DEO

"What do you mean not real?" Astra asked as she, J'onn, Winn, Alex and James listened to Kara while the other agents around them worked.

"Up until a year ago, there was no Lena Luthor", Kara said as all looked at her like she was crazy, not that she blamed them. "Lionel never adopted any illegitimate daughter, Lex was an only child, and the company was bought out by his board after his imprisonment."

"That sounds crazy!" Alex said. "We all have met and interacted with Lena."

"J'onn", Kara called out and he used his powers to read her mind.

"I do see your memories", he said. "But this man could have created them simply to drive a wedge between you and Lena."

"Why would a stranger from another world want to drive a wedge between us?" Kara wondered. "It's not like he is gaining anything from it."

"What do you think about these memories?" Astra asked gently as she put a hand on her niece's shoulder.

"I feel like, there was a veil blocking me, shielding me from the truth, and now it has been lifted up", Kara said as the others considered.

"And what about the magic staff?" Winn asked all of a sudden. "I mean, what was that like? Some Mad-Eye Moody prop?"

"It was like Gandalf and Saruman", Kara said as she made the comparison in her head. "And he was very powerful with it. I am pretty sure he slowed down time while we were fighting. And he also blocked my X-Ray vision."

"Well, he is after Lena, so we better warn her", James said and Kara nodded.

Later, L-Corp

Kara descended down to the balcony door and saw Lena working. She saw her and gestured her to enter.

"What can I do for you, Supergirl?" Lena asked before Kara could even greet her. Kara noted there was something…..different about her voice.

"Someone is after you, Lena", Kara said as the younger Luthor looked up at her.

"Who?" She asked.

"Well, he is pretty powerful. Wore a hood, had a staff and I am pretty sure he could do magic", Kara said as Lena considered.

"I can handle him", she finally said and it was the amount of confidence with which she said it that Kara was confused.

"He did something to me", Kara said as Lena looked at her. "I have been….remembering things."

"What?" Lena asked and Kara could again tell there was something different about her.

"The truth", Kara said and Lena's eyes lit up at that. "At least that's what I think it is."

"It is the truth, Kara", Lena said as she walked towards her, her voice now becoming cold. Kara's eyes widened in shock on hearing Lena speaking her real name.

"What? Shocked? Oh come on! The glasses are a terrible disguise", Lena said, a wicked smirk on her face. "It is a shame really, Lena considered you a good friend and knew you were going to tell her your secret only when you were comfortable enough. But like everyone stabbed me in the back, everyone stabbed Lena in the back. You treated her like a villain."

"I am sorry, Lena", Kara said, feeling remorseful about lying to her friend. "But-"

She was cut off when Lena waved her hands and some energy washed over Kara's hands. She felt weak and groaned in pain as she saw Kryptonite cuffs around her wrists, weakening her badly as she fell to her knees.

"What that person showed you was true", 'Lena' said. "There is no Lena Luthor. She only existed because I enchanted the world into believing she did. But I ended up enchanting myself too, and I forgot who I truly was. Until a few months ago when I was among the casualties of the 'Dusting.'"

Kara looked up at 'Lena' and could tell her entire persona had changed. And her voice had taken on a British accent somehow.

'Lena' then took out a Kryptonite knife and raised it. "Lena may have cared about you, but I don't."

Then a blast of energy hit 'Lena', sending her flying back as the knife fell out of her hands. Kara turned her head to see the figure from earlier lowering his hand.

'Lena' lifted herself up as the figure pulled back his hood to reveal a young and handsome face, about the same age as 'Lena', with dark hair, power and anger shining in his haunted eyes.

"YOU!" 'Lena' growled as she got up, glaring at him.

"Morgana", the figure sneered at her, the anger in his voice clear.

"Merlin", 'Lena' said, her voice equally angry. "Here I thought I would never see you again."

"I hoped I would never see you either", Merlin said. "When I couldn't detect your presence anymore, I believed you were gone."

"Did you mourn for me?" 'Lena' asked mockingly.

"Not you, but the kind and compassionate woman you once were", Merlin said.

"That woman died when you poisoned her", 'Lena' snarled and guilt flashed in Merlin's eyes. "And now you will die too!"

With that, she fired a fireball at Merlin but he waved his staff and a wind dissipated it before he waved his hand at Kara, making the Kryptonite cuffs disappear.

Merlin pointed his staff at her and a telekinetic blast sent her flying back. As she got up, he conjured a fireball and used some wind to disperse it at her but she used a magical force field to defend herself, though the fiery wind blasted the windows into several small pieces.

Same time

Steve Rogers and Diana Prince were returning from their first date, which involved watching a movie. The movie was none other than 'The Incredible 2.'

"I liked the first one more", Diana said. "Not that this one was bad. It was pretty good."

"Collateral damage making people distrust superheroes. I know the feeling", Steve said as both chuckled at that. "And helps I have seen an actual super family on another Earth."

The two stopped as Diana said. "So, this was…."

"Nice?" Steve asked.

"Yes", she nodded, a smile on her face, which made her look like the most beautiful and kind person ever, Steve noted.

Okay, why was he thinking such things around her?

Their faces were getting a little closer second by second. Then they heard an explosion and looked up to see the windows of L-Corp blasted, ruining their moment.

Exchanging a look, they made their way to the building.

'Lena' teleported behind Merlin and knocked him down with a telekinetic blast. He turned around as she conjured a sword and raised it to kill him but a recovered Kara slammed her hands together, the power of the thunderclap sending 'Lena' flying off as Merlin sank to the ground.

Kara started. "Lena-"

"I am Morgana", she declared. "And I will take back what's mine."

That was when the door burst open and Steve and Diana burst in. In that very moment, Morgana waved a hand and vanished in a cloud of smoke.

Then several DEO agents burst in, led by Alex, guns aimed at Merlin who was back up.

"Wait!" Kara said as she raised her hand, looking between the agents, Merlin, Steve and Diana. "I think we need quite a few explanations."

Later, DEO

"What?" Winn asked, visibly shocked, just like the others, as they looked at the young man who was sitting on the chair in front of them. "You are…Merlin? From the King Arthur Legends?"

The man nodded calmly. "I am."

"But…..but…but…", Steve of all people said as he gestured under his chin, with everyone realizing he was talking about the beard.

"Ah! That!" Merlin said and suddenly, he transformed into an old man with long hair and beard, resembling Gandalf and Saruman in that moment.

"There, that look better? I am Dragoon the great!" Old Merlin said in a cracked voice as all shot him odd looks. "What? Never seen an old man before? HAAAH!"

All blinked at his behavior before he transformed back into his normal form.

"Don't believe all the legends", Merlin said. "Several of them are not true, or simply distorted as time has passed. And I am not even from this world. Maybe the legends of Camelot went differently here, or they were just legends."

"So you're from another Earth too", Diana noted and he nodded.

"It can be different", Kara agreed. "On Earth-1, the Legends said there was this heroine from the 40's who used a piece of something called the 'Spear of Destiny' to create Camelot and live there, and she became Merlin."

"Okay, nice joke, but let's get serious", Merlin said as Kara gapped.

"But it's true!" She said as Merlin stood up.

"Let me tell you about my Camelot", he said. "Where I am from, Albion was a good land. King Uther wanted a child and had help from a sorceress called Nimueh who used a spell to help his wife give birth. But she died from complications of the spell, as the old religion demanded 'a life for a life.' Uther became vengeful and had all magic outlawed. He hunted and killed everyone with magic. The purge would make the Salem Witch Trials look like a walk in the park in comparison."

Everyone was absorbed and horrified by the tale, especially Uther's cruelty.

"The irony is the King's illegitimate daughter, Morgana, was born with magic herself", Merlin stated as he looked at the others, taking in their reactions.

"I have a feeling she wasn't the only one", Steve said.

"Yes", Merlin said, though all had a feeling he was keeping something back for some reason. "I was sent to Camelot as an apprentice to Gaius, the court physician, who knew of my abilities but kept them a secret, helping me nurture them instead. I was told by someone that I was supposed to help Uther's son Arthur become a great King and make Camelot a great land where magic would not be outlawed anymore and would live as equals. And because of Uther, I had to hide my magic and help out from the shadows."

"That sounds complicated", Diana said.

"Oh, like you wouldn't believe", Merlin said. "So many times, I helped out Arthur and the others from the shadows using my magic, but no one found out, and I didn't get any credit. Arthur was the hero, I was just his cowardly bumbling sidekick."

"That's worse than us having secret identities", Kara said. "At least our alter-egos get credit."

"Oh yes, it was horrible", Merlin said. "And didn't help that unlike what the legends said, my Arthur was a bully in the beginning. However, I saw in him good qualities, and I knew he was a good man underneath, who cared about the people. So I helped him, and eventually, he was not a prat anymore."

"Can't believe I am hearing King Arthur being called a prat by a young Merlin", Alex said.

"I get the feeling", James told her.

"What about Morgana?" J'onn asked.

"She was kind and compassionate once", Merlin said, sadness entering his eyes. "But when she found out about her magic, both she and I made some wrong decisions, which led to her turning against Camelot. She tried to capture it several times, even managing to do so twice, and she managed to assassinate Uther as well. She staged a final war against Camelot, aided by a knight who had turned against us named Mordred."

"Mordred. Arthur's bastard son who killed him", Winn said, remembering from the legends.

"Language, Winn!" Steve chided as all chuckled.

"I thought you were a badass boy scout", Winn said.

"Just wait till you see him in action", Kara said before turning to Merlin again.

"Mordred wasn't Arthur's son or anything, just a very loyal knight, but let's just say my own bad choice along with his turned Mordred against us, and he did mortally wound Arthur", Merlin's eyes had a haunted and wounded look once more. "Arthur slew him, and then I revealed my secret to Arthur. At first, he felt betrayed that his best friend had been lying to him for years. Then he realized how much I had been helping him without him knowing, and he moved past it, feeling grateful instead. We were going to a place Arthur could be saved, but Morgana waylaid us. There, I stabbed her through the heart with Excalibur, but I was too late to save Arthur."

He wiped some tears that had started rolling down as he said that, and all could see the pain and guilt he was living with, and many of them could relate.

"You stabbed Morgana through the heart, so how is she still alive?" Astra asked.

"She used some form of dark sorcery to keep herself alive", Merlin said. "In the Middle Ages, I heard rumors of a witch wreaking havoc behind the scenes. I tracked her down and found out it was Morgana, still alive. And she had named herself Morgan le Fay by then."

"What?" James asked, voicing everyone's shock. "You're saying Lena is Morgan le Fay from the King Arthur Legends?"

"Yes", Merlin said, sounding nonchalant. "The two of us fought for centuries, with her escaping, until I had help from another sorcerer, and with her help, I managed to take down Morgana. I thought she was gone, until a few months ago, I started sensing her presence again."

"Few months ago", Steve trailed off before remembering how Jean's powers had surfaced after her resurrection. "The Dusting."

"Yes", Merlin said. "Morgana had come to this world and cast an enchantment to make everyone believe she was Lena Luthor. However, the spell affected her too and she thought she was Lena too, until the Dusting and her resurrection made her remember, and that's when I sensed her and tracked her down here. I have to stop her."

"By killing her?" Kara asked.

"I know Lena Luthor was your friend", Merlin said. "But she was just a façade, an illusion conjured by Morgana. Morgana cares only about power and herself."

"Let's table this discussion and try to find Morgana", Steve said.

"She would need a power source to get back to our world", Merlin said as all looked at him.

"Yeah, about that", Kara trailed off as all those who had been present when the Infinity Stones had been split groaned.

Yeah, not very different from Michael Weyer's story so far, but the changes will happen from Chapter 3 onwards, where I will be doing more. It's just that I don't think there is any other way to do these bits of the story. Hope nobody minds.

I don't consider myself a good writer of romance but I hope the Steve/Diana scene was fine.

Also, was anyone else disappointed by Merlin's ending? I mean, I know the legends end with Arthur dying, but the way the show did it made me feel….cheated, for a lack of better word. And we didn't even get a quest for the Holy Grail!

Hope everyone enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter. Stay safe from the coronavirus ya all!
