Cathy Katherine is a girl that may seem very simple at first glance but, deep down there is a whirlwind of emotion. She was once an extremely shy girl that just wanted at least one friend. One day, that chance came when she tricked her classmate Yuma Tsukumo into coming into her house by seemingly kidnapping his childhood friend Kotori Mizuki and leaving a note for him to use to come to her. This ended up working partly well. However, in the end, she not only lost the duel but also, he wouldn't even give her the chance to admit the feelings for him that she has. She was however satisfied for the time being because she had finally made a few friends by joining the numbers club at Heartland Academy which her crush and new friends also were part of.
As time went on, she realized that she was falling behind as Yuma continued to spend more and more time with Kotori. This culminated in the final battle against the Barian's when she was close to giving up her feelings for Yuma altogether by allowing Kotori to be the one to go to his side. However, after learning that Kotori had confessed her love for Yuma after the spirit Astral returned to his world, she became angry. Angry yet sad at the same time. She hated herself for allowing herself to take the backseat while Kotori got ahead again. This was further intensified when upon seeing Yuma again, she realized that she could never give up her feelings for him. Was it selfish of her to want this? That was something that came across her mind very briefly when she considered the very reason she started liking the boy, to begin with. He was incredibly nice, always did everything he could to protect those closest to him, was always giving off a very positive atmosphere around him, but most of all he was the very first person to accept her for who she is and to bring her out of her shell.
He accepted the fact that she was obsessed with cats to the point of even trying to look and act like one. He accepted that she wasn't exactly the most well-loved person around. Before she met Yuma, she was always looked at like she was the doll of the class. Like she was something that merely just existed and nothing more. There were even some that looked at her with disgust in their eyes, that a girl who is so obsessed with cats could be their classmate. The girl had realized this long ago, and this was why she hid away from the world. But, now the thoughts of the masses didn't matter to her. She only wanted one thing and that was for the boy she loved to utter the words I love you to her.
For this reason, she constantly got into fights with her friend and love rival, Kotori. At first, the two couldn't stand each other but over time they developed a deep respect for each other to the point of where they would willingly sacrifice their life if it was necessary to save the other. After the final battle against the Barians and astral, the cat lover came up with an idea that would change everything. She realized that no matter whether she or Kotori ended up with Yuma, the other was going to be left out and depressed so she came up with the brilliant idea that seemed so obvious to her when she thought of it:
"Why didn't I think of this before?! We can just share him! That way neither of us will be left out and all of us can be happy! Hehe, I'm such a genius! But I need to decide how to convince them to go along with this idea. Hmmm…"
Cathy thought about this to herself until she fell asleep for the night. The next morning came and after changing out of her cat-themed pajamas and having a bit of toast with jam, she headed out while still wondering to herself if this whole thing was really going to work itself out. While she did want this, she didn't want to make anyone feel uncomfortable because of her seemingly strange idea.
The cat-looking girl said to herself,
"Today there's no school so I need to find Kotori and Yuma so I can talk about this with them"
Her cat intuition told her that the two might be in the park. It became a sort of like a sixth sense for her to know where Yuma would be at pretty much all times. Did this come from her spying on him so much before he met her? She didn't know but that was of little importance to her. To her, this was the beginning of a decision that would change her life forever. Would she get the boy she loved or would she be doomed to never obtain her one true wish?
