Sup guys? Lighting Wolf here, back with another story, this one about Halo. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Halo, Microsoft, 343 and a few others do.

The mighty assault carrier was known only as Seeker of Truth.

Aboard the bridge of the CAS-Class assault carrier stood the leader of what the Covenant would call an unholy heretic… Thel Vadam.

The Sangheili had been damned to be killed because he questioned their views. He, unlike half of his people, so fanatical that they bowed to the San'Shyuum that ruled the Covenant and yet… claimed to be 'equal' to the client species that made up of it.

He had heard a former soldier of his. A shipmaster, had their ship crash on the planet. He had long known that the planet of Mautune harbored 'insurgents' as the Humans he had been told were worthy only of cleaning fire were called.

Thel had a Spy Drone recovered from the battle… The humans did not strike first, the Jiralhanae did.

Thel was many things, but he didn't kill enemies who didn't strike first, ambush the enemy, yes… but the Brutes fought with no honor and the San'Shyuum treated the Sangheili as more akin to pets then an alley.

"The Glorious Harbinger was shot down above the northern poll. They believe they have a holy relic that would help our case, Commander." He heard from one of his bridge staff.

"That was a CPV Class Destroyer… What was the name of its Shipmaster?" Thel questioned the Sangheili who gave the information.

The 'Swords of Sanghelios' as his followers had taken their mantle, from history, were scattered. The warriors and ships within the Fleet of Particular Justice had taken different paths when the Covenant armadas barred down on them.

"Byko 'Susumai…" Thel heard. It took him a moment to recognize the name before he let out a hum.

Byko was a true Sangheili, he was fearless, he was cunning… But he was prone to making decisions that didn't endear him to the hearts of everyone.

The Sangheili displayed enough caution to be seen as a coward within their culture. A CPV-Class Heavy Destroyer was a ship meant only for the lowest on the totem of command… Someone who had disobeyed orders or was considered beneath notice.

"The ship is destroyed?" A nod. Thel looked at the data from the holotable.

The ship was split along the teardrop section. Thel could see broken plasma circuits along the ship's underside as the remaining crew fought.

A line of Sangheili, clad in the armor of minors, held the line against Humans with primitive projectile weapons. He watched the Sangheili, clad in the armor of an Evocatus… or a 'Ultra' as he heard Humans call it.

He fired a Type-31 'Needle Rifle', downing 2 humans before his shields sparked and he was forced to leap before a piece of scrap.

"Dispatch 2 Phantoms… I will speak to Byko when he is aboard." Thel said. he watched one of the Sangheili collapse, a smoking wound in his head.

It was clear to Thel that the ship's hanger was destroyed since no vehicles nor aircraft had joined the battle. He had seen the soldiers on each side were infantry, the humans were the ones with such tech.

"I see only a quarter of the crew are dead." Thel watched another pair of Humans fall victim to Byko again before another Elite died to human fire.

This was returned by a Sangheili gunning the soldier down with his plasma rifle. The Human insurgents and Byko's troops as he shot another human again while Byko cursed.

"I wish for you to deal with the others… I will reinforce Byko and his men on the ground." Thel stated before he walked off the bridge and towards the hanger.

If Byko had a relic, he would reclaim it. the Covenant couldn't have such an object… It would damn the galaxy over even more then the Covenant could already have done.

Thel went to don his armor. He had to see if this was a lie or not.

Besides, the Swords of Sanghelios stood for something, unity, peace… A purpose. It did nothing to shave his thoughts of hatred for the Covenant down.

He rubbed at his temples and donned his armor again. He grabbed at his sword.

He could see a feed of Byko continuing to battle the rest of the Humans as an aircraft from the humans flew overhead.

Author Notes

Phew, first chapter done! I want to point out that this is going to be the only Halo Covenant story as I deleted the others not to spam them. Next chapter will be in 2 weeks and will show the ground battle and the formations of the Sword of Sanghelios. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

PS: I am putting up a poll for what Byko's ship should be that ends in those 2 weeks.
