Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Seabound Sweethearts. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Azur Lane, Shanghai Manjuu, Ximen Yongshi and a few others do.

Spitfire dropped a grenade into the water which bobbed once before settling into its role as a mine. Spitfire shot straight up into the air. the plan to destroy the fleet was very simple.

'First, Wales will dice up their flank, then Belfast will blitz their supply ships while I engage their air cover…' He looked up to see the drones and human piloted fighters in question and sighed with annoyance before taking off into the sky.

"What?" He heard from one of the ships before Belfast opened fire and cracked a freighter in half.

He sighed before shooting into the flock of drones, he downed 3 before he felt several bullets ping into him as he grunted in pain.

He turned and fled. He turned to see the enemy submarines turn to engage Belfast. They fired off torpedoes. He hummed while he saw Wales skating towards the fleet.

Belfast fired her AA guns into the sky. Spitfire felt one of the shells detonate near him as he tumbled the radio.

"Can you please not shoot me down? I'm engaging way too many fighters. This hurts like hell!" He stated as a few bullets grazed him.

He grunted before he spun himself back around and fired. he watched a few fighters burst into flames. Spitfire gunned it through the group, kicking in his nitro just so the entire swarm couldn't get an angle on him.

Wales joined her fire into the sky, he saw more drones crash down from the sky. Spitfire angled down towards the fleet, aiming his guns at one of the freighters.

"This is the worst plan in the history of plans." Spitfire fired his guns at the freighter, he felt the rest of the Ironblood ships began to fill the air with flak.

He cursed; this wasn't at all the thing that he expected. He saw one of the ships point their canon right at him.

The shell was fired, Spitfire tried to turn… and failed.

The flak was more then enough to damage him as he spun downwards, not dead… but wounded enough to be taken out of the fight mostly.

The sole saving grace for Spitfire's wounds? He watched 3 of the humans… not ship girl, Ironblood destroyers and their 3 escorting freighters vanish under smoke. His grenades had detonated and ripped massive holes into their hulls.

They would be sunk soon. Spitfire crashed into one of the islands. He spun as he kicked up sand and murky water.

"Ow…" He was far from dead, he could fix himself given the time, but he was effectively out of the mission. Ironblood had no need to kill him, as he was a useless asset to the attack and not worth the effort to kill.

(With Belfast, Wales and Hood)

Belfast had seen Hood get shot down, the destroyer that had managed that was shot with a torpedo from her and listed away.

She knew Spitfire wasn't dead, she hadn't seen any signs of fatal damage. He was hurt badly, but not dead.

"We need to retreat!" Hood yelled while Belfast continued to down drone after drone. The plucky maid was surrounded by death, but Ironblood continued to pour their forces into the defense of the freighters.

The Royal Navy had drawn blood, but now their enemy eagerly wanted their share for daring to damage them.

"We'd be leaving Spits!" Belfast felt one of the larger shells hit her ribs. She turned to see it was from Prinz Eugen.

Belfast held her hip as her guns continued to rip into their fleet. She saw Wales engaging 2 cruisers.

"He's a soldier of the Royal Navy! He knows what the mission is!" Hood yelled. Belfast glared at her friend with annoyance and anger.

She fired a shell which burst in midair, it knocked out several drones and allowed her to advance.

"WE AREN'T LEAVING HIM BEHIND! THEY'D TORTURE HIM, EVEN IF IT'S PROTOCOL, I'M NOT LETTING HIM GET CAPTURED! YOU RETREAT IF YOU WANT! I'M GOING TO HELP HIM!" Belfast yelled to be heard over the continuing sound of canons over and over again.

"BELFAST!" Hood yelled before sighing and realizing she couldn't talk her friend out of this.

They had crippled the first part of the convoy… even if this could put them out of action for a few weeks?

She called that a victory, a pyrrhic victory, yes, but it was still a victory.

She turned to Wales who had begun to back off.

Hood decided to go and help Belfast. She saw from Wales that she was willing to stay behind to hold off their retreat for the moment.

Hood sighed and followed Belfast towards the crash site of Spitfire, part of her worried about her new ally.

She hummed with annoyance and sighed. Belfast had no idea what was coming, she had no idea how Kingfisher was important to the war effort.

Author notes

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out I didn't make Spitfire to be some super soldier warrior as you saw. The ships and planes can heal on their own, but its super slow. Next chapter will be on next Wedensday and will show Belfast helping Spitfire and them bonding. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

Ps: Takao or the next story is coming on Friday or Sunday.
