Sup guys? Time for another story, this one about Azur Lane. Enjoy the 800-word chapter. I don't own Azur Lane, Shanghai Manjuu, Ximen Yongshi and a few others do.

The mission would be very simple… The campaign was shaping up to be good.

The end objective was very simple: The Ironblood was meeting with the Sakura Empire to combine forces for an attack on the alliance's main base.

The Royal Navy had decided to try a new tactic to counter the massive amount of firepower that they would encounter.

Airpower, not just the drones sent by their carriers. A fast and powerful fighter known as a Spitfire.

Hood, the leader of the mission, looked at the others who were commanding the mission behind her.

Belfast, who was to help her also escort the main warrior of the group and their support: Prince of Wales.

"I thought Glorious knew I could handle this." Hood stated before Prince looked at her.

"She does… That's why she's sending backup. You're a battlecruiser, I'm a battleship… One of us has more fire then the other." Hood turned and looked to the side with amusement.

"And yet I'M the leader of the mission. You surprised their making something new? They said something about air support, but I didn't hear any carriers like Glorious and them would be coming." Hood said while Belfast spoke up.

"That's why their trying something new. I heard something like a prototype would be coming with us... I know the Humans are the ones powering us up by believing in us, but…" Hood turned to look at the leader of the maids while shaking her head.

"Show some respect, Belfast. The human part of the Royal Navy is as important as us… Besides, it isn't like we've been able to get support, they've cut our fleet off. You know what's going to happen if we don't defeat their fleet here. We lose that base? We end up losing this entire war because our fleet will starve without the supplies there." Hood skated away on the water before Belfast turned to Prince.

"You know we're going up against the toughest warriors in the Sakura Empire and Ironblood, right? You're the biggest and toughest warrior we have and yet you're not afraid of being in the line of fire?" Belfast asked as she was greeted by a shaken head in response.

"You are the more vulnerable one, Belfast. You're a cruiser and you can't take the damage me and her can… I want you behind us at all times unless you find a target that can be engaged head on without being attacked in return." Prince didn't notice that Belfast pouted at this.

Both said nothing before Hood returned and courted up towards them.

"They want us to leave asap, we're both supposed to meet up at a mid-point where our air support would meet us and then we could engage part of the fleet and weaken their main force." She stated before skating away.

"I thought we were going with a few others at the moment to cut off their recon force." Belfast watched Hood look at her and hum with amusement.

"No, they sent our reinforcements ahead… We're supposed to be the backup for their force and their supposed to be our reinforcements at the moment… We're going to hit their communications and go from there, ok?" Hood pointed out.

She didn't like orders like that, but she didn't really have a choice, she was dealing with a lot on her plate.

"I don't like this anymore then you do, but we have a job at the moment for the Royal Navy and for the alliance." They walked back before skating away.

None of them had any idea what would be happening. They had no idea what the future would bring them when it started happening.

"We have a job to do, so let's do it…" She stated, more to herself more than anyone else. It would be a war; it would change them. She had no idea what would happen, but she knew things would be different. She could feel things in the war.

Hood could almost hear the gunshots in the air, the sound of cannons coming towards them and the loading of ammo. Hood turned to look at her backup.

They had to win or they would have nothing left to fight for.

Phew, first chapter done! I want to point out this is the only other air force story and the Takao story is next with Saint Louis. Next chapter will end up being in a week or so on Wednesday and will show Spitfire meeting Hood and them and the first part of their operation. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!
