Who Am I?
Pairing: Astolfo x D'eon x Kingu
Genre: Friendship/Romance
Disclaimer: I do not own the Fate series or any of its characters.
Author's Note: So…this might be a little more difficult to write involving Kingu. There's a lot to remember and I don't wanna wrack my brains just to remember. For me, Enkidu/Kingu will always be a trap. Heck, they referred to Kingu as a "he", so yeah, that's the reason. XD
Anyways, this is my first, so if I mess up terribly, I apologize. But this is MY version of the anime.
"Hahaha!" Astolfo laughs as he walks ahead of his darling boyfriend, D'eon, his master, Ritsuka-chan and Mash as they are walking along the forest outside of the gates of Camelot. "Jeanne Alter Lily was super cute! I can't get enough of her!"
"Yeah, playing with her was a lot of fun," D'eon nods in agreement. "Although her older sisters wanted us to have a break."
"That's right! Which was why I suggested for us to have a little walk to get some fresh air~" Astolfo says with a wink. He slows down for a moment to wrap an arm around his boyfriend. "And I'm so glad to have you, Master and Mash to accompany me~!"
"Ehehe! It's no problem~" Ritsuka-chan says. "I always like taking long walks with my best friends~"
"Good thing it's a beautiful day," Mash adds, slowly linking arms with her Sempai and Master.
The cute redhead pets her like a puppy. "A wonderful day to take a walk with my cute kouhai~"
Mash blushes for a moment and smiles a soft smile. Artoria "Lancer Saber" Pendragon allowed her knights to take a day off, so Astolfo and D'eon played with Jalter Lily and Ana for an hour before coming out here for some fresh air. So far, nothing crazy was going on for the past few days. While it was a good thing, Ritsuka and the others have to be on their guard in case enemies try to attack Camelot. The redhead doesn't know why, but going outside of the gates of Camelot might have been a good thing. They will never know when or how the enemies will appear.
"Oh! I got an idea!" Astolfo stops to turn around. "I know there are some fruit hanging in a tree just straight ahead. Why don't we pick some of them to give to Ana and Lily for a snack later?"
"Oh, that's a great idea!" Ritsuka-chan exclaims, clasping her hands together. "Let's all try this fruit then!"
"Great! Then, let's get going~!" Astolfo raises a fist and off they go.
**Minutes Later**
"There it is~!" Astolfo points to a large tree full of wonderful fruit. "All the fruit you can eat, everybody! The best part is, it can restore the food as much as it wants, no matter how many fruits you pick from it. They always come back!"
"So it'll be enough for everyone to share!" Mash says. "Where did you learn this?"
"Ishtar told me of course~!" the pink haired trap replies. "It's a magic tree, so that's why it's able to restore fruit so many times."
"Well, what are we waiting for~?" Ritsuka says. "Let's help pick out the fruit, enough for everyone!"
Unbeknownst to Ritsuka and the others, there is someone watching them from a distance. They are so busy picking out fruit and putting them in large baskets that they can't see the figure zipping from one tree to the next. By the time the figure is somewhat close, the gang has already gathered enough fruit and are heading back to the castle. However, Astolfo accidentally drops an apple as he heads off. The figure, who turns out to be a "woman" with long green hair dressed in a white robe approaches the dropped apple. "She" picks it up and grins as she eats it.
**At the Castle**
The gang sets the large baskets of fruit down in the kitchen and help each other bag them up. There are a lot of them, which means it's enough for all the people in the castle and for some that are just desperately hungry. Of course, Astolfo took some of the fruit and ate them happily, filling his belly.
"That was so good~!" he says. "Ishtar was right! This fruit is heavenly~!"
"Glad you like it~!" Ritsuka-chan says. "We can give some of them to Lily and Ana in a bit-"
"Excuse me!" someone calls from the hallway. Mordred comes running toward the kitchen. "An intruder is trying to get into the castle! I informed Father about it, but-"
"No need for Lancer Saber to come," Ritsuka-chan says. "Mash and I will handle it. It's our job to protect our king, remember~?"
"And so will we!" Astolfo says, pumping a fist. "Me and D'eon-chan are part of the Knights of the Round Table after all! Come on, guys! Let's see what this intruder is up to!"
Mordred nods and smiles. "Alright. I'll tell Father about it."
The four of them go toward the gate where the guards let them pass and when the gate opens, there is a person with long green hair standing in the distance. Ritsuka and Mash step ahead to approach him.
"Ummmm…excuse me?" Mash says. "Can we help you with something?"
"Actually yes," a soft, womanly voice coming from the stranger says. "I just need one thing. Your majesty has something very valuable and I know it's here. So give it to me and no one gets hurt."
Mash turns to her sempai. "What is she talking about, Sempai?"
"No idea," the red-head shrugs. "Hey, Miss! If you want the King's treasury, you're going to have to ask Her Highness directly!"
"Heh," the green haired figure chuckles. "First of all, I have no need for money or jewels. Secondly, I am not a woman. I'm a simple young man, named Kingu, who wants nothing more than a simple life. I figured this valuable item can help me do that. I've been hearing many tales that this is the place where that item is. I traveled miles to get here."
Just then, Ritsuka figures out what this man meant. "You want the grail? Is that it?"
"Correct. My life is meaningless, so I hoped to find the grail to wish for a better life that has a purpose."
"If there's a better life you need, then maybe stay with me or Lancer Saber?" Ritsuka says. "She can have you under your care and protection."
"You don't know…what I've been through…" the green haired trap says. "Or how I got here in the first place. You think a simple permission from the King herself is going to help me? There's no way she'll let me do that. I need the grail so that my life has better meaning!"
"Wait, you don't need something like that!" Mash steps in. "There are other ways to have a better life!"
"I'd rather not be lectured by some demi-servant! Give it to me or die!" Kingu thrusts out his hand, summoning small portals and 3 chains shoot out.
Everyone dive rolls to evade them. Mash summons her black armor and shield.
"Fine, if you want to fight, then we won't back down!" Ritsuka says. "Go Mash! Teach him a lesson!"
The violet haired girl charges and takes the first hit. One swing of her shield to the right, then to the left and then 360 degrees. She then delivers the last hit by thrusting her shield forward hard, making Kingu fly far from the castle and inches from the forest. The gang runs quickly toward him, as they need to keep him away from the castle to prevent him from destroying it. Mash goes in and delivers a flying kick and a couple hits with her shield. And then another thrust, but this time, Kingu holds his ground. But Mash continues her attacks, hitting him with her shield left and right. However, before she does it again, Kingu finally retaliates by punching her in the gut and then an uppercut, sending Mash flying. But she flips to her feet and charges again. Kingu speeds to the right to dodge her attacks and delivers his own flying kick, knocking her off her feet.
"Mash!" Ritsuka-chan cries.
Astolfo and D'eon decide to assist her. They rush in to help Mash, but Kingu grins as he waves his hand, summoning several small portals. Multiple chains appear, creating a barrier between him and Mash and Ritsuka and the two traps.
"NO!" Astolfo shouts as he tries to break them.
Mash struggles to her feet to see her friends standing there helpless. "Let them go!" she cries.
"This is our fight," Kingu says. "I don't need them to interfere." He thrusts his hand forward to summon more chains, only for Mash to block them all.
But that was used as a distraction. He charges forward to kick the shield upward, leaving Mash wide open. He then delivers a roundhouse to hit her hard and into a tree, knocking it over and her shield falls to the ground. She is now powerless without it. Kingu doesn't give her a chance to rest as he speeds up toward her to punch the lights out of her, a couple of kicks and then one last roundhouse toward the wall of chains. She's been knocked unconscious. Kingu relaxes his stance and grins.
"So much for a demi-servant," He snaps his fingers and the chain barrier disappears.
"Maaaassh!" Ritsuka cries as she runs to her kouhai to tenderly pick her up and have her rest on her lap. "Mash! Mash!"
"It's no use, Master of Chaldea," Kingu says. "She lost. I won."
"HEY!" Astolfo shouts, readying his lance. "You're forgetting 2 people! We challenge you!"
Kingu chuckles. "Oh, yeah. I have to deal with you two. Once I finish you and Master of Chaldea, getting my hands on the grail will be no problem."
"You'll have to get past the King first," Astolfo says. "But we won't let you!"
Both he and D'eon charge, but Kingu jumps high in the air and lands behind them to evade. He summons electrical currents from the ground and sends lightning to shoot upwards. Thankfully, both of the traps dodge that attack as well. They land on their feet away from the current and Astoflo charges first with his lance.
Kingu dodges his attacks with ease and grins. D'eon rushes in from behind to stab him with his sword. Kingu turns around to see him about to attack, so he ducks and delivers a roundhouse kick at D'eon. Astolfo swings his lance to get back at him and successfully hits him in the back. The green haired trap flips to his feet and thrusts his arm again to summon more chains to restrain them. Astoflo and D'eon dive roll out of the way to evade and D'eon rushes toward the green haired trap to perform fast jabs at him. Kingu dodges each and every single one and then shoulder tackles him to the ground. Astolfo jumps in to intercept, but he gets kicked away and falls to the ground as well.
"You fools," Kingu chuckles. "You think you can take me on? You are all pathetic."
"Guess again!" a soft voice calls out.
Kingu turns around to see Ana and Jalter Lily try to attack him from the air, but he jumps away to evade.
"Ana! Lily!" Ritsuka gasps.
"We heard the news!" Jalter Lily says. "And we came to help! Ain't nobody touching our King!"
Kingu shrugs. "Oh, please. When is this ever going to end? You're just wasting my time." He thrusts his hand and summons multiple chains, surrounding the little ones.
Jalter Lily and Ana jump out of the way before the chains reach them and dive roll to their feet. Ana spins her chain weapon at a very fast pace and thrusts it forward. It wraps around his leg fast and she yanks it backward, tripping him. Jalter Lily jumps in to hit him with her spear, but he rolls away and gets to his feet. He pulls the chain Ana is holding right toward him, taking the little gorgon with him. But while flying, she prepares for a double kick to the face and flip kicks him to make him stumble backwards. Jalter Lily swings her spear downward diagonally, hitting him successfully.
Kingu grunts and tries to summon lightning. But Ana catches him with her chain and yanks it hard to make him fall to the ground. Then as he tries to get to his feet, Ana is already running around and around, wrapping him up with her own chain weapon. Once he's good and tied up, she lets go and puts her hands on her hips.
"Take that!" she says.
"Alright! You caught the intruder!" Jalter Lily cheers and both of the little ones give each other a high-five.
Astolfo and D'eon grab him to get to his feet.
"It's off to prison with you, Kingu!" the pink haired trap says.
"We'll inform Her Highness about it first," D'eon points out. He turns to Ana and Jalter Lily. "And you two. Nice work."
"Ehehe! Thanks so much!" Jalter Lily and Ana bow in respect.
Mash's eyes flutter open and her vision clears to see the red-head looking down at her. "Sem...pai...?"
"Mash! Thank goodness!" Ritsuka-chan is close to tears. "I'm so glad you're okay!"
"D-did we...win?" Mash asks softly.
"Yes! We captured the intruder. Ana and Lily helped, so did Astolfo and D'eon." the red-head explains.
"Thank...goodness..." Mash says and she starts tearing up. "I'm so sorry...Sempai. I..I tried..."
"No, no, no! Don't be!" the redhead hugs her tenderly. "You did your best. That's all that mattered."
"Sempai..." the violet haired demi-servant closes her eyes and let a couple tears fall.
*Later*
Kingu is in front of the Lion King herself, on his knees with his hands cuffed after Ana untied him. Mordred and Morgan are right beside Artoria. The Knights of the Round Table are behind Kingu while Ritsuka, Mash, Jalter Lily and Ana are at the side. Artoria has her leg crossed over the other while her elbow is on the arm rest of her chair.
"So...I heard you tried to intrude my palace." the stoic beauty says. "Anything you have to say for yourself, Kingu? Or should I say...Gilgamash's former friend, Enkidu?"
"Huh!?" Ritsuka-chan gasps. "You mean you know this person!?"
"A couple times," Artoria closes her eyes. "But Gilgamash introduced me to him. I never knew this Kingu would be here, too."
"But I'm not Enkidu!" the green haired trap says. "In fact, I don't even know who I am! Or what my purpose is!"
"Oh? Then why do you appear just like him?" the King inquires.
"That's the thing! I just came like this...like I'm sharing someone else's body or something," Kingu says. "But...I feel that it's not the real me. I'm not myself."
"So you chose to go after the grail to grant your wish on a better life?" Artoria asks. "By stealing it from me?"
Kingu goes silent for a moment before nodding his head. Artorai sighs.
"Luckily no one's seriously hurt," she says. "But you. To do something this rash is just awful."
Kingu stays silent. Artoria does have a point, so there's no denying that. Ritsuka-chan then decides to step in.
"If I may, Lancer Saber," she says. "Maybe we should give him a second chance."
"Haaah...Master, I know you're trying to help like you did with Ishtar, but something like this is-" Artoria starts.
"I know. But didn't you listen? Kingu just wants a better life. And spending a life in prison probably isn't a very good start," she turns to the green haired trap, kneeling down and taking his hands in hers. "Besides, he's remorseful at what he's done today, right? Why don't we start all over again?"
"All...over again...?" Kingu starts to tear up. "Master of Chaldea...are you sure...?"
The redhead gives a bright smile. "I'm sure! In fact, how does this sound: why don't you stay here? This will be your new home...a new life for you. Hey, you can even join the Knights of the Round Table if you wish."
"That's right!" Astolfo nods in agreement and puts a hand on Kingu's shoulder. "I, Astolfo of the Twelve Paladins, can be your guide!"
"Astolfo-kun..." Kingu says softly.
D'eon gets on the other side, leaning down and smiles. "We're with you, Kingu. Don't worry."
"Ahem!" Artoria clears her throat to get everyone's attention. "If we're done here, I shall speak." She looks at the green haired trap. "Kingu! As of right now, from your behavior today, I would've put you behind bars. But…as Master said, it seems that you want a second chance. Alright, I will give you that chance…to live a new life here at this castle. But…you're far from earning your seat here at the Knight's table. Until I can see improved behavior, you may join the Knights of the Round Table."
Kingu can hardly believe it. The Lion King herself has given him a second chance…to start a new life. It makes him so happy.
"Everyone…thank you…" the green haired trap says softly. Tears fall freely from his eyes. "Really…thank you…I'm so glad…I'm just so glad…!"
Astolfo and D'eon hug him tenderly from both sides, soothing him. Ritsuka just smiles, happy that it's all over and once again, Artoria is a good, just King. Mordred and Morgan also smile and give a nod of approval.
There is nothing to fear anymore. Kingu is a new being with a new life. And the green haired trap is truly happy.
