Jude was in her dressing room, staring at herself in the mirror after the second Instant Star contest winner had just been announced. She had gotten changed back into her normal ragged jeans and tank top, but her hair was still done up and she still had all the extra makeup caked onto her face, she really didn't look or feel like herself at all.

Jamie had walked off while she had been performing after he had pretty much dumped her without actually saying he had dumped her and it was all because she had finally become a total sellout and completely changed herself in order to save her career. She was broken, alone and all she felt like doing was crawling up into a hole and hiding away from everyone and everything.

"Hey." Jude didn't need to look up to know who was standing in her doorway.

"What do you want Tommy?"

"I heard what happened with Jamie. I just wanted to see how you were doing.." He stepped closer to her slowly.

"How do you think I'm feeling? I did what you wanted Tommy. I did everything that was asked of me and in return I lost the one person who didn't want me to change. The one person who liked me the way I was." Jude couldn't help but let the tears out.

"Do you really think this is the way I wanted things to be?" He raised his voice a little. "We all had to make sacrifices Jude." he suddenly thought of Sadie, and the fact that he had lost her because of everything that was happening and still had not had a chance to fix things with her properly.

"Sacrifices!" Jude shouted at him. "Look at me Tommy, I don't even look like myself anymore and I'm starting to feel like I'm completely losing who I am. How am I meant to write new music if I can't be myself?"

Tommy moved over and knelt down on the ground and looked up at her.

"Jude..." He reached up and wiped a tear from her cheek, and lifted her head so he was looking into her eyes. "I know these last few days have been kinda hell. But Jude, you stuck it out. You really killed out there tonight." He pushed a stray strand of hair back behind her ear. "All summer I have been dying to get back into the studio with you and now that's what we can do. I have missed working with you Jude" he sighed and moved his other hand so he was holding her head in his hands. "I really missed you Jude."

She moved her head closer so their foreheads were touching and closed her eyes.

"Tommy don't..." She whispered, but she didn't pull away. Instead her lips inched closer toward his and she felt herself being drawn into him once again, their lips melding together in a passionate, yet gentle embrace.

The sound of knocking at the door made Tommy pull away from her almost instantly and the moment was gone. The door swung open and they both looked up to see Sadie standing there, staring at them.

"Can we talk?" Sadie asked, looking at Tommy.

"Uh...yeah." He stammered in response as he moved further way from Jude and pulled himself up off the floor. "I'll give you a ride home, just give me a minute."

Sadie nodded in response, then turned to Jude. "Dad said he would wait for you outside whenever you're ready."

"Uh huh." Jude mumbled and pursed her lips together. She really hoped Sadie had not just seen or heard anything that had happened.

"I'll meet you out there." Sadie turned and walked away.

Jude was dreading what was coming next. She knew exactly what Tommy was going to say, exactly the same thing as last time.

"Jude...what just happened I..." Tommy started but Jude cut him off as she stood up.

"Save it Tommy. I've heard it before. You know you really need to make up your mind what you really want because I am getting so sick of this." She started gathering her things and shoving them into her bag. "I am so sick of opening my heart to you and getting it torn into pieces."

"Jude...It's not that simple and you know it." Jude had her back to him and was doing her best to not look at him. "We make great music together Jude and I really don't want to have to stop."

"I get it Tommy. Let's just pretend this never happened okay. Just like last time..." She turned and stared straight at him, a look of hurt burning straight through him. "It never happened." She grabbed the rest of her things and pushed past him, walking away heartbroken once again.

I fall to pieces

Each time I see you again

I fall to pieces

How can I be just your friend?

You want me to act like we've never kissed

You want me to forget

And I've tried and I've tried but I haven't yet

You walk by and I fall to pieces

..

The idea for this came from some song lyrics I found in one of my old Blue Heelers fanfics and just thought they fit so well with the whole Jommy situation. If anyone is curious the song is I fall to Pieces by Leann Rimes.

I don't know if there are any people out there that still read Instant Star fanfics but if you are reading this could you please let me know if I should continue with this story because I do have an idea as to where I want this one to lead. Hopefully if you did read it you liked it. I would love to hear your opinions if you have time to leave a quick review that would be great :)
