6A request
(I own nothing and this was a request from Akiru who wanted this story, however I couldn't make it a full story so now it's only a two parter. First part, the actual stuff, second part the reactions. Enjoy.)
Conan sighed as he thought about his conundrum. He had realized a while back that he wasn't only in love with Ran. He had fallen in love with Haibara as well. So like any boy unsure of what to do with his feelings he sought out help from those that he trusted. First had been Uncle Kogoro, despite knowing that it probably wasn't a good idea to ask him of all people for help with romance.
"Eh? A crush huh? Well go for the second person, because if you loved the first one you would have never fallen in love with the second." Kogoro said wisely at first and Conan nodded slowly, that made a lot of sense.
"As for what to do...just knock her out and drag her to a wedding." Kogoro said between hiccups, causing Conan to deadpan because honestly what was he a caveman? It was a wonder he had ever been married at all.
"Finally wanting to do something about your crush eh Kudo? Well why don't you ask her to marry you then? Get your grown body back and show her a hell of a time." Hattori, hopefully as a joke, had told him over the phone when Conan called him about it.
"Oh? Tantei-kun has a crush? Why don't you run off and elope with her? I've even got you some fake passports, although you'll need to add her picture to the other one, and the perfect ring in mind for you to give her." KID had somehow heard of his dilemma, honestly with that thief there was no telling how he knew, and had dropped by to visit Conan and give him that advice. Conan gave the thief a flat look and aimed a soccer ball at his head for that.
Conan face palmed when he went to his room later and found a thirty carat diamond ring on his pillow along with two fake passports that would fool anyone. He gave them over to the theft division with a dry remark about how KID was trying to help him with his love life. The amount of headaches that declaration caused had him damn near down an entire bottle of Ibuprofen in one sitting. The police were far too enthusiastic about him having, and doing something about, a crush.
"A crush huh? Have you considered confessing to her? Life is short after all. Here I'll help you make her a treat to show her your feelings." Amuro had said and then proceeded to help Conan make some sandwiches and cupcakes, and even an actual cake, all in the shape of hearts.
"There we go! A full romantic picnic! Have fun Conan-kun." Amuro said beaming brightly as he handed Conan a picnic basket and cloth, the food already stored in the basket.
Conan sighed as he went towards his last ray of hope in learning what he should do. Honestly, he probably should have asked Akai first since the man seemed to take over and claim to be Conan's father figure. He even actively encouraged Conan to call him papa, something that pissed Amuro off something fierce, but Conan had fallen into the habit of doing so.
"A crush? Well a picnic's a good start but you should definitely confess to her and maybe even give her a promise ring. Life is too short, especially for those like me and you who are hunted." Akai had said and then he seemed to think of something else as he reached into his shoulder harness and withdrew a simple pistol.
"Here. I know you can shoot and know all of the gun safety laws and things like that...but in my experience nothing impresses a woman more than a guy able to defend her and himself...as well as a guy who can shoot." Akai said handing Conan the gun and the harness it came with, helping adjust it so that it was hidden under his jacket for his mini-tuxedo like outfit.
"Thanks papa...okay...I...should probably go and confess to her now." Conan said blushing a bit when Akai ruffled his hair fondly.
"Make sure you pick out a promise ring first in case she says yes...and don't forget to let your 'mama' know. Because if you don't tell her and she finds out on her own..." Akai trailed off as both males shuddered at that, making Conan nod and go to find his 'mama' otherwise known as Jodie who was more than happy to damn near adopt Conan as her own child legally.
He was her Cool Kid after all.

"Eh where are you off to brat?" Sonoko asked coming across Conan who was calmly skateboarding down through town to visit his 'mama's apartment, without using the boost of the skateboard since he didn't want to run into someone.
"I was going to see mama and then find a jewelry store. I need to pick out a promise ring." Conan said seriously and making Sonoko blink for a long moment before her shout damn near broke the glass in the area.
"Really? Come with me! I'll help!" Sonoko said picking Conan up under his armpits, careful not to jostle the picnic basket he was carrying, and dashed off to the nearest jewelry store.
"Okay brat. Who's the ring for? Ayumi-chan?" Sonoko asked already looking at some of the rings that were pink and cheerful and easily able to be adjusted as needed.
"No! It's...It's for Ai-chan." Conan admitted softly with a blush on his face, making Sonoko's eyes widen at that and she squealed again.
"Finally! It's about time you admitted to liking her! Okay brat! We need to find a promise ring that fits her personality and style but is also able to be adjusted as you two grow up so that it can work as an engagement ring as well!" Sonoko said immediately dragging Conan over to the more fashionable and slightly more expensive rings.
"Sonoko-nee-chan how am I supposed to pay for this? I have a good bit of my allowance saved up but I'd still be at least three thousand yen short for even the cheapest ring here." Conan asked frowning up at Sonoko who didn't even hesitate to wipe that concern away.
"Kid you call me your 'nee-chan' and you are like the annoying little brother I never had. Of course I'll buy the ring for you. All the times you've saved my life this is the literal least I could do. I'll even help plan the wedding and pay for it too when you two get to that point!" Sonoko said without hesitation or missing a beat and Conan blushed and looked down. He was surprised she thought of him as a little brother.
"Now don't worry about the price, I haven't used my allowance at all in the last two months so I'm literally able to buy almost every ring in this store if I want to, and just pick out the ring that you think Ai-chan would like best." Sonoko said lifting Conan up onto her hip so that he could look at the rings. Nodding slowly he looked through the rings and then his eyes stopped on the one he just knew would match her the best.
"That one." Conan said pointing at it. It was a simple silver band but inlaid on the band were five different stones. There was a blue sapphire on the far left, a brilliant green jade on the far right, a pitch black obsidian on the upper left, a shiny white pearl on the upper right, and in the very center was a grey smoky diamond.
"Her big sister had blue eyes, her mom had green...and...she's neither pure white nor pitch black. She's an even mix of them both, grey." Conan said making Sonoko nod slowly.
"Good eye brat and good pick. Sir we'll take this one, make sure it's in a small size for a child." Sonoko told the man who rushed to obey the daughter of the Suzuki family and what appeared to be the hidden son of the Suzuki family as well.
"Thank you Sonoko-nee-chan. I promise I'll pay you back." Conan said seriously when Sonoko paid for the ring with the ease and uncaringness of someone buying a pack of gum.
"It's not a problem brat, this is barely a dent in my allowance much less my savings." Sonoko said and then she walked with Conan all the way to Jodie's apartment building, talking with him about the plan. Hopefully Ai would agree to the promise and wear the ring until they were old enough to be married. If she did agree then Sonoko was going to throw them both an 'engagement' party and invite everyone she could. If she turned down Conan though then Sonoko was going to do everything she could to make him feel better.
"Mama!" Conan immediately ran to Jodie and hugged her leg while she smiled brightly at the sight of him.
"Hello there my little cool kid. What brings you by, with Sonoko-chan no less?" Jodie asked smiling at Conan who shyly showed her the ring he had picked out.
"I...I'm going to confess to Ai-chan and I even took papa's advice and picked out a promise/engagement ring for her." Conan said making Jodie blink for a moment and look shocked before smiling softly.
"I'm glad that you're following your heart cool kid. I support you one hundred percent, just remember no actually getting married until you're of legal age and no making me a grandma until you're at least twenty three." Jodie said making Conan blush brightly at that before nodding his head while Sonoko snorted loudly.
"Go on now. Go find Ai-chan and confess." Jodie said kneeling down to kiss Conan's head before he nodded and kissed her cheek, taking off down the street on his skateboard to go find Ai.
"Are we going to follow him?" Sonoko asked after waving goodbye to Conan.
"Of course. I'm already calling in his 'grandpa' figure and his 'uncle'. Get the camera while I call his 'papa' and see what the hell has been going on." Jodie said making Sonoko nod and dash to a nearby convenience store to get a camera.

Back at their apartment Ran stared at the note Conan had left her on the table.
'Dear Ran-neechan,
I was asking people for advice on how to confess to Ai-chan. I didn't want to take Uncle Kogoro's advice to knock her out and force her to a wedding, or Heiji-niisans advice on 'showing her a good time' whatever that meant, or KIDs advice on eloping with her using the fake passports and ring he left here for me so I decided to listen to Amuro-san and papa and make a picnic for her before I confess and get her a promise ring. I'm going to the store to buy one now so I'll be home later! Hopefully she says yes!
Love Conan.'
"Tou-san...get Hattori and KID here now... you three are in so much trouble." Ran growled out as she glared at her drunk dad who paled and eeped under her stare. Oh was she going to kick their asses for this.

"Haibara!" Conan said using her last name when he finally spotted Ai looking in a store window at a purse as if debating on whether or not she should get it.
"Conan?" Ai asked more than said as she looked at Conan surprised.
"I...I had Amuro-san help make us a picnic. Would you like to join me?" Conan asked trying not to blush and making Ai raise an eyebrow at that but nod as she stepped onto the skateboard behind him, holding on when he skateboarded them to a nearby but empty park. Neither of them noticed the FBI agents and Sonoko trailing behind them watching everything.

"What's all this about Conan?" Haibara asked raising an eyebrow as Conan set out the blanket and then the red plates and began handing her heart shaped sandwiches and cupcakes.
"Um...I...I think I love you Haibara...and...I...I wanted to ask that you marry me when we're older!" Conan finally said it, his face beat red and making Haibara blink for a long moment as she stared at him in silent shock.
"If this is an April Fools day joke Conan then it's not funny." Haibara said but her voice was softer and shakier than normal.
"It's no joke! See! I even got you a promise or engagement ring, although Sonoko-nee-san paid for it since I didn't have enough..." Conan trailed off as he showed her the ring and Haibara's eyes got wide and watery.
"This...this is real? You're really...asking me to marry you when we get older?" Haibara asked softly and making Conan nod his head happily.
"Yes! I want to marry you as soon as we're able to Haibara...Ai! I...don't want to go another day without you knowing how I feel!"
