You can guess who the blonde is. Counting on you Season 12.
He sits down on the stool, taking in his surroundings. His eyes follow the brunette as she walks up to him with a contagious smile on her face. He can't place her, but he knows he's seen her somewhere before. "You look familiar."
"I was just about to say the same thing. Sam's friend Tom, right?"
"Yeah."
She offers her hand to introduce herself to the man that's helped her friend a great deal over the past couple of years. "Kensi Deeks. My husband and I work with Sam."
The red head takes her hand in greeting with a smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Baby, did you order more white Rum and mint?" The sound of a surfer drawl pulls her attention towards her partner who is scouring the shelf for the clear liquid.
She squints, trying to think back to when she placed the order earlier this morning. "Yeah, it should come on the delivery truck tomorrow. Oh and I also ordered some more highball glasses."
Deeks turns around, his eyes landing on the guy that's sitting at the bar across from his wife. "Hey, I know you."
"Babe, this is Tom Olsen. Tom, this is my husband Marty Deeks."
Just as his wife did before, the shaggy surfer stretches out his hand to officially introduce himself. "How's it going, man?"
"Good. It's always nice to meet a fellow Viking." Tom takes the grin that Marty sends him as appreciation of his locks. He feels her hand on his shoulder and smiles. "This is my wife Christy."
The tall blonde takes the stool next to her husband, sending a wave to the husband and wife duo. "Hi, it's so nice to meet you." She takes in her surroundings much like her husband did before her, something about this place makes her very comfortable. "I really love the atmosphere you have going on here."
"Thanks. We like to call it our home away from home."
Kensi watches as the ex-Navy SEAL continues to look from the back to the front door. "Sam's not here if that's who you're looking for."
"Oh, no, we're here to meet some people. My father-in-law and Sam had really good things to say about this place so we decided to try it out."
She's not one to strike up conversations with people but after hearing some of Sam's stories and being a marine brat herself, she can see that Tom's on edge. "Who are you here to meet?"
"That would be my dad and his new girlfriend."
Deeks places two of his beer concoctions on the counter, giving the pair something to drink while they wait. He looks up with a smile at the sound of the door opening again. "Mama J, what are you doing here?"
The older brunette saunters over to her daughter, wrapping her arms around the younger brunette in a tight embrace before doing the same to the man that's become like a son to her. "What, a woman can't stop by and see her daughter and favorite son-in-law?"
"He's your only son-in-law, mom."
"Technicality." Julia makes her way back around the bar, taking a seat next to the tall blonde woman. "Mom, this is Tom and Christy Olsen."
"It's so nice to finally meet you both!" Her enthusiastic reaction and words has the two couples sharing looks of confusion.
Just as he does with any new customer that will listen, Deeks begins to tell them the story about the golden shark. The three sitting at the bar briefly look at Kensi when she bites back a smile while her husband gets animated as he gets further and further into the story. The door opens again and they almost miss the silver haired man whose eyes find Julia immediately.
Before he can make his way to the bar, Christy is up and headed towards him. "Hey, dad."
"Hi, Chris."
They all watch on as the two pull back from their embrace and the blonde pulls her father over towards her husband. The two men exchange handshakes while Christy takes her seat once again. "Dad, this is-"
"Kensi, Marty, it's so nice to finally meet you both."
Kensi turns to her husband hoping to get some kind of inkling as to who the strangers is but he shrugs just as confused as she is. "I'm sorry, are we missing something here?"
"Kensi, Marty, this is Patrick…..my fiancé."
"Your-your fiancé?"
The four stare at the older couple in bewilderment. To say they're shocked would be a bit of an understatement.
After a few seconds of uncomfortable silence, Tom's the first one to find his voice. "I thought you said we were meeting your girlfriend?"
"Well a lot can happen in 24 hours."
Deeks huffs, drawing his wife's attention. "Don't we know it." He relaxes at the feel of her arm wrapping around his waist, drawing herself into his side. His arm like a security blanket to her as it falls over her shoulders.
A wolfish grin crosses the face of the red head, his attention turning towards the couple behind the bar. "So does this mean we get the family discount?" Apparently they teach you how to dissolve awkward silence in the Navy.
"Does Tom Brady wear Uggs?"
The two sisters to be stare at each other in amusement as their husbands share a high five and begin to ramble on. Dear god there's two of them.
After the six of them get done with the worlds best Loco Moco, Kensi nudges her husband. "So when's the wedding?"
Julia shares a look with Patrick. Their eyes stay trained on one another as the older man speaks. "We thought we'd go to City Hall."
"Now?"
"Yeah."
"Just us and our kids" The older brunette reaches across the table taking both Kensi and Deeks' hand. "And the judge of course."
The sudden sniffles coming from his left has Deeks turning his attention to his wife. He knows her every sound and is sure that she's just messing with them but he plays along. His hand runs up and down her back in a soothing motion. "Kens, baby, why are you crying?"
"It isn't fair."
"What isn't fair?"
She pulls her hand away from her face and just as he suspected there are no tears in her eyes. "She doesn't have to go through the torturous girly time and the smothering like I had to."
Julia shakes her head at her daughter's actions. For a minute she thought this had something to do with Donald, but thankful it wasn't. "How about you and Christy come to our house Saturday and you can do all the smothering you want?"
"Great! That means Marty can go surfing with me and Patrick."
"Sounds good to me."
With that, Patrick, Juila, Tom and Christy make their way out the door leaving the bar owners to make sure everything's in order before they leave for the day.
Once everything's settled they make their way to the truck, Kensi threading her arm through her husband's. "You know, babe, you and Tom could pass for brothers. Are you sure Mama B doesn't have anymore kids?"
He pulls his hand out of his pocket, releasing her arm and quickly reaches for her hand, intertwining their fingers. "Honestly, at this point it wouldn't surprise me."
