Summary:

In the wake of Daredevil's sacrifice at Midland Circle, Jessica Jones takes up knitting to surmount the loss.

Screw the Hand. Screw their undead ninja soldiers. Screw that mystic granny. Screw her life.

Jessica "Not a Hero" Jones nodded to herself, agitated. Matt Murdock was dead. Leaving her sister and Malcolm at the 29th Precinct, the private eye made for Alias Investigations alone.

The subway stank. If there was ever a time she should have mastered flying, it was now.

But no more special tonight. The city could use a break from special after nearly breaking apart.

Trish recommended she take up knitting to manage her aggression. She never put much stock in the diversionary power of looping together scarves, but it'd been a hell of a week.

Some mohawked punk sighted her hip flask. "Mind if I steal a drink, pretty lady?"

"Try it, asshole."

What's the worst this broad could do? the creep reasoned. Poke me with them sticks?

She flipped him head over toe, clear across the car.

"You're –" he rasped.

"One of those? Yeah, except not as virtuous as the flag waver. And angry, like the big green guy. Don't want to relive the Incident? Don't advertise."

The tone she asked in, very strongly, thwarted just that.

Back to the rat's nest hanging off her needles…

Goddamnit, wrap the working yarn around the top!
