This was originally going to be the third chapter. But I changed my mind and went with the current chapter 3 you got.
But in order not to waste it I will post it for you to enjoy. Caution it is a bit of a mess.

"Where am I? And what is this for?" Mutsumi asked for the umpteenth time while gesturing to the rope around her waist.
The tenants of the Hinata apartment, minus Shinobu, were having a meeting to discuss ways to make Shinobu feel better.
"You are in our attic, and the rope is so you do not wander off and hurt yourself" Naru explained patiently.
"Oh, so I'm a kidnap victim," Mutsumi asked cheerfully "Can I have some watermelons as my ransom?"
"That's not the right response to that," Naru raged "and you're not kidnapped"
"Hey Naru, what are watermelons? Are they yummy, can I eat them?" Su asked.
"Su for the last time stops asking if- oh actually yes watermelons are something you can eat," Naru answered surprised.
"Guys were getting off track" Keitaro interrupted. "We have to think of ways to help Shinobu"
"Maybe if Keitaro taught her bedroom arts she would feel better" Kitsune suggested grinning.
"Kitsune" Naru scolded.
"What if we found the bat that bit her and proved it wasn't a vampire bat?" Motoko asked.
"That's not a bad idea" Naru commented, "but we should have a backup in case we can't find the bat".
"If you're looking for a Maguire hat I have one," Mutsumi said, putting a cap with the spiderman dancing scene on her head.
"Mutsumi we said vampire bat, not Maguire hat," Keitaro explained. "And please do not remind me of spider-man 3. I still get nightmares about the dance numbers".
"What if Motoko taught her kendo?" Kitsune asked.
"Teach Shinobu kendo?" Motoko questioned.
"Sure" Kitsune explained "it would be a great way for her to self-discipline and ease her fears,"
Or just make her a more deadly vampire Keitaro thought.
"Okay, Keitaro you help Motoko train Shinobu well the rest of us go to find the bat" Naru declared.
A loud metallic screeching sound echoed behind them. They turn to see Su fiddling with a weird machine that was forcing water into bananas.
"What is that?" Keitaro asked with a sweat-drop.
"It's a watermelon," Su exclaimed as she bit into one of her mutated fruits that proceeds to burst and send water everywhere.
It gets on the machine which proceeds to explode.
**meanwhile**
"Sigh, oh Tama what am I to do?" Shinobu asked the turtle. "If I stay here I am a constant risk to all my friends. But they seem so adamant for me to stay"
"Hey, Shinobu" Keitaro called as he approached her.
"We thought of a way to get to help you control your vampire side," Keitaro explained.
'But I thought you said I wasn't a vampire," Shinobu said.
"Uhh," Keitaro started. "No time for questions, we are in a hurry," he said as he grabbed her hand and led her to the roof.
"Shinobu" Motoko greeted. "Are you ready to learn the ways of the sword?"
"What?" Shinobu asked in surprise.
"Well, you are concerned about being a vampire so what better way to develop self-control and inner peace than with kendo?" Keitaro explained.
"And what better way to train than on the indestructible Urashima," Motoko added.
What? Keitaro thought, but he reminded himself it was for Shinobu and said nothing.
**At the entrance to the caves**
"There, done" Naru stated as they peeled off the last boards they had nailed to the entrance to the caves.
"Man, the author planned this out poorly," Kitsune commented.
"Kitsune what are you talking about," Naru asked.
"What's an author," Su asked, "is it yummy, can I eat it?"
A coconut comes out of nowhere and hits Su on the head. Ow, she comments.
"Okay, here we go," Naru said as she walked in.
**back to Shinobu**
"Okay, Shinobu first try some practice swings," Motoko instructed. "One, Two, Three" She counted standing next to Shinobu checking her form.
As Shinobu got to 13 something went wrong. Woah she cried out as she slipped and the sword flew out of her hands.
Ahhh, Keitaro cried.
"Keitaro are you okay?" Shinobu said in a panic, running over to see what happened to the manager.
"I'm okay," Keitaro reassured her while getting up. "Luckily it only hit my head" he commented as blood dripped out of a wound.
That does not look okay, Shinobu thought.
After getting Keitaro patched up they moved on to the next training exercise.
"Okay, Keitaro will throw the chunks of wood in the air and you try to cut as many of them as you can," Motoko explained.
"Are you sure this will work?" Shinobu asked?
Yes, this is a part of the training"
"Okay, go," Motoko declared as Keitaro threw the wood.
Shinobu slashed the sword back and forth with all her might.
"You got four, not a bad start" Motoko commented. Then Keitaro's clothes went to shreds.
"Ahh," Keitaro shouted trying to cover himself and runaway while Motoko chased him with her sword screaming "get out of here you pervert,"
After getting a Keitaro a new pair of clothes they continue the training session.
"Okay Shinobu lets have you spare with Keitaro." Motoko said.
Clang, slash went the swords as they spared. But unknown to them Su had left a banana peel laying around.
So when Kietaro dashed forward to attack he slipped right into Shinobu's sword.
"Ahhhh, Kietaro are you okay?" Shhionu asked in panic.
Kietaro got up, "yeah I'm okay he said with a new wound in his head," he said grogly.
But Shinobu had had too much and ran off to her room crying.
When they tried to visit her in her room she just told them to go away.
Motoko decided it was best to give her some time alone.
**Back to others**
"Man, I don't remember the walk being this far," Mutsumi commented.
"That's because you lost your memory," Kitsune replied.
"No, it's because she wasn't with us last time," Naru corrected. She suddenly stopped, "does else smell something weird," she asked.
"Yeah, could it be natural gas in the cave?" Kitsune asked.
"No, it smells more... fruity," Naru answered.
"Oh, that would be my homemade torch," Su interrupted.
"Homemade torch?" Naru asked as she turned to Su.
"I didn't have any candles so I lit this coconut I found on fire and tied it to a stick" Su explained.
"Why didn't you just light the stick on fire," Kitsune asked.
"Well, this way I also get a cooked meal," Su responded cheerfully.
"But Su" Naru interrupted "won't the heat boil the liquid and cause the air inside the coconut to expand so much that the coconut would"
Booom the coconut explodes, managing to cause the cave floor to give way.
"Su are you okay?!" Naru yells rushing over to where the small girl landed.
"Yah I was wearing my new blast-proof suit" she explained.
"When did she have time to put that on?" Naru wondered.
"Hey, guys, y'all alright" Kitsune called as she and Mutsumi approached.
"We will be after we eat ten or twenty bananas," Su replied.
"Well, it looks like we can't get out the way we can in" Naru comment looking up at the cavern the fell from.
"Maybe Su has a machine that can get us back up?" Kitsune asked.
"Yeah, she always seems to have something miraculously super convenient on-hand" Naru agreed.
"Nope, sorry" Su replies "how could I even carry something like that with me?"
It never seemed to be a problem before, Kitsune and Naru think with sweat drops.
"Wait, where did Mutsumi go?" Naru asked.
"She over there" Su replies pointing to the edge of the rubble.
"Hey, Mutsumi, what's going on?" Naru asked as they approached.
"I thought I smelled watermelons but all I found was this tunnel," Mutsumi explained, disappointed.
"Weird it doesn't look like a natural cave it looks carved out," Naru said as she examined it.
"Look, there's writing on the wall," Kitsune added.
"It's in an ancient form of Japanese." Naru said, looking at it. "It says beware before you lay many traps guarding the lost treasure of Akamatsu. And this part underneath says the emergency exit and bathroom are at the end of the tunnel."
"Treasure lets go," Kitsune said eagerly.
"But what about getting the bat or getting out of here." Naru asked.
"Well the exit is this way too isn't it," Kitsune answered.
**a little bit later**
"I wonder what kind of traps there will be," Naru asked. All of a sudden she felt the floor move down.
A bucket of water fell on her head. That was a trap? Naru thought annoyed.
After several other very disappointing traps like pressure plates that cause whoopie cushions, and pies to the face they got to the end of the traps.
"I wonder what treasure could be hidden in this amazing ruin," Kitsune exclaimed excitedly.
"Probably just another prank based on the rest of the place," Naru answered.
They approach the treasure chest in the center of a big room and open it to find watermelons.
"Yay, I did smell watermelons," Mutsumi cheered as she grabbed and hugged some.
"That's it?! We went through that for fruit?!" Kitsune yelled.
Eeek screeched a noise as a bat flew in.
"Ahrgah, that's the type of bat that bit Shinobu," Naru exclaimed.
"Mutsumi, look out" Kitsune yelled as the bat swooped towards her fangs bared.
The bat plunged its fangs into a watermelon. Huh? Naru and Kitsune think.
"That's not a vampire bat, it's a fruit bat. They do look quite similar though." Su explained.
"That's great, Shinobu is not a vampire, let's get back and tell her the good news," Naru exclaimed excitedly.
**back at the inn, early in the morning**
"Hey everyone come quick we have great news" Naru shouted as they burst through the entrance.
"What is it?" Keitaro askes as he and Motoko rush down the stairs.
"Shinobu was bitten by a fruit bat, not a vampire bat" Kitsune explains gesturing to the fruit bat still eating watermelons in Mutsumis arms.
"That's great, let's go tell her," Keitaro replied.
They ran to Shinobu's room. And flung the door open.
"Hey Shinobu, great news, you're not a vampire- where is she?" Keitaro asked, seeing the room was empty.
"There's a note on her desk," Su pointed out.
Keitaro picks it up and reads it aloud.
Dear everyone, I have caused you nothing but pain the past couple of days. I know you want me to stay, but I do not wish to hurt you so I am running away to protect you.
And Keitaro since this is likely the last time I will have the chance. I love you, not just as a Friend. You are so kind and considerate to me and everyone at the inn even when they are mean to you. I am so glad I got to be all of your friends.
Goodbye forever, Shinobu.
Meanwhile somewhere far away Shinobu was crying.

Yeah the only real difference in outcome is that it is discovered that a fruit bat bit Shinobu.
Feel free to make fun of this deleted chapter, I will see you for chapter 4.
