It was a normal day in Tokyo, Japan and in the forest where Yamato Kazaraki and his uncle Mario lived. Inside, everyone was doing their normal festivities. Tusk was reading a book about the human world, Leo was taking a nap in his regular spot, Amu was playing with the miniature Zyuoh cubes and Sela was doing her fair share of chores. As the time, slowly passed by, Leo suddenly woke up and yelled, "Ah, mou! I'm so bored! What is taking Yamato so long?!"
Having a need to cover her ears, Sela said, "Quit yelling, Leo. He'll be back soon enough."
"Yeah, but it feels like forever." Leo said.
"I wonder what's Yamato doing." Amu said.
"It can't be helped, I guess." Tusk said.
Suddenly speaking up, Misao thought out loud, "Maybe something happened to him, maybe he's hurt or…"
Standing up, Amu walked over to him and sat him back down. "Calm down, there's no need to be paranoid. I'm sure he's fine. Plus if there was a Deathgalien attack, we would have felt it."
Calming down, Misao replied, "Yeah."
Closing his book, Tusk added in his own thought. "Maybe he's on a date, or something."
"Eh?! Date?!" The rest of them yelled in shock and confusion.
"What are you talking about?" Sela asked. "Yamato doesn't have a girlfriend."
"Even if he did, he would have told us." Leo said.
"Hmm. Maybe he had a secret admirer, and now he's finally meeting her?" Amu thought.
"Amu, don't talk like that." Misao replied nervous. "Of course he wouldn't exclude us. Unless, he thinks we're not that important to him." He then went into the corner and pouted.
"Again? Man, you need to stop that." Leo told Misao.
Coming out of his room was Yamato's uncle Mario wearing another one of his animal costumes. This one being a white swan. As he came in flapping his wings, he asked, "What's all the commotion over here?"
"Oh, it's nothing." Sela answered.
"Mario, what are you wearing now?" Amu asked.
"Oh, it's a swan." He answered.
"Swan?" They all asked confused.
"Yes. Tomorrow is a special day, so I thought I should dress for the occasion." Mario went on to explain. The others weren't quite sure as to what he was referring to but went along with it.
Suddenly, they could hear the sound of the door opening and the sounds of footsteps coming inside. A voice suddenly announced, "I'm home." They all saw that it was Yamato as he held grocery bags in his hands.
"Oh, welcome home Yamato." They all greeted.
"Thanks." Yamato replied. Handing over one of the bags to Mario, he said, "Uncle, I got the stuff you asked for."
"Thank you, Yamato." Mario replied, taking his bag over to his room.
Yamato then gave the rest of the groceries to the others. "Here you go, Leo." He said handing him a treat.
"Yes! Thank you." Leo replied in a loud tone.
Yamato then handed over a small bag with candy to Amu. "Here you go, Amu."
"Thank you, Yamato."
He then turned to Tusk and told him, "I couldn't get the books you asked for but I managed to find some substitutes I figured you'll like it."
"That'll suffice." Tusk replied.
As he was going his gift to Micchan, Yamato saw that he was sulking in the corner. Slightly walking over to Misao, he asked, "Micchan, are you okay?"
Leo didn't mind him as he just said, "Just leave him. Moping is pretty much half of what he does anyways." Yamato was still confused by what had caused Misao to be upset. For now, he simply left his gift on the table.
"Yamato." Misao said suddenly speaking up. Yamato looked to him as Misao stood up with tears in his eyes and he put his hands on Yamato's shoulders. "We're your friends and you'd tell us anything, right?!"
Yamato was still confused and now surprised as he replied, "Umm. Yeah. Of course."
As a smile returned to his face, Misao let go, and said, "Thank you."
"What about me?" Sela asked as she didn't receive a gift.
"Oh." Yamato realized. He then announced, "Well, I'm waiting till tomorrow to give you yours."
Sela wondered why he wanted to wait while the others were curious and intrigued at what Yamato had in mind.
Changing up the topic of conversation, Mario announced. "Alright, it's getting late, why don't you help me prepare dinner and then I'll need the rest of your help to start decorating."
"Alright." They all agreed. Yamato then heading over to the kitchen.
"About time, I'm starving!" Leo yelled.
Getting tired of his roars, Sela grabbed him and covered his mouth as she said, "Do you ever keep quiet?" Leo struggled to get out of her grip while Amu simply giggled.
Tusk not minding them and just continuing to read.
Meanwhile, in the outskirts of space on the Deathgalien ship, the leaders and Master Ginis were coming up with their next game to cause chaos upon the Earth. Being bored, Master Ginis was shuffling through his coins. He then asked, "Naria, who is the next player in our blood game?"
"I have an excellent idea Ginis-sama." She replied bowing down. Snapping her finger, she signalled for the monster to come in.
She had a large black and silver body that was red around her neck, blue and yellow dots down the middle, yellow eyes and black hair. Her left hand also had some kind of blaster weapon.
"Ho? Tell me what he brings to it?" Ginis asked curiously.
"My name is Poison-Talon, Master Ginis."
"Tomorrow is a special day for the lower lifeforms to show affection to each other." Naria went on to explain.
"How disgusting." Azald scoffed.
"Be quiet!" Naria demanded pointing her hand at him. "This will be the perfect time to make the lower lifeforms suffer and you shall hear their sorrowful screams."
"Yes, my powers will turn their positive emotions and turn them into anger and hate." The Deathgalien player said. "Then the lifeforms will turn and destroy each other."
Chuckling, Ginis was pleased as he said, "Very interesting. Go then. I look forward to the results."
The Deathgalien then left to begin his plans. During which, Azald turned over to Quval said, "Interesting indeed." If used right, this Player could be useful in more ways than one.
Back on the Earth, the day went on as the Zyuohgers were at the table eagerly waiting for their dinner to be served. Leo being the most impatient as he could hear his stomach growl. Finally, Yamato and Mario came out of the kitchen with plates of food in their hands. Both of them announcing, "Sorry to keep you waiting."
Excited, Leo shouted, "Finally! That looks good!"
"Leo, wait your turn." Sela demanded holding him back by his tail.
"Ow!" Leo groaned. He then sat back down as he said, "Fine."
"Calm down, there's plenty for everyone." Mario assured him as he served the food for them all. "Now dig in."
As everything was ready, they all began to eat. Leo being the fastest as he was chowing down his food. Sitting next to him, Tusk said, "Could you handle your food in a more civilized manner and not be so messy?"
Continuing to eat, Leo simply replied, "Easy for you to say. A man must always keep eating in order to be strong."
"Leo, you've always been a pig when it comes to keeping clean and eating." Sela replied.
"Sela-kun is correct." Amu agreed.
"I am not." Leo retorted. "If I don't eat, I'll be skinny as Misao."
Misao then looked and suddenly became less confident. "Skinny, me?"
"That's right. You need more meat in your body. You're skinny as a toothpick."
As a frown came across his face, Misao took his food and went into the corner. "You're right, physically I'm not as strong as the rest of you." He then pouted and began eating his food alone.
"Mou~ Don't pick on him like that Leo." Yamato said in Misao's defense. He then told Misao, "There's nothing wrong with how you are Micchan. You're plenty strong."
"That's right." Uncle Mario said. "A man should not need to physically show that is strong. His actions may say enough."
Out of curiosity, Sela asked, "Mario?"
"Hmm?" He replied.
"What was the special day you were saying is tomorrow?" Sela brought up.
"Oh it's Valentine's Day." Mario answered.
The four Zyumen were confused as they asked, "Valentine's Day?"
Mario was also confused as he wondered, "Huh? Do you not have it where you're from?" As they all shook their heads in response of 'no', Mario went on ahead and explained, "Well, to put it simply, Valentine's Day is a day to spend with your loved ones. Not like spending with family or friends but with someone you have a special bond with and care about."
Intrigued, Amu blushed and said, "Wow, how sweet."
Leo, however, did not feel the same as he replied, "Bleh, that is the sappiest thing I've ever heard."
"Sounds fascinating." Tusk said. "A day to spend with your loved ones, huh? Back home we share gifts to people we care about but a whole day to it seems interesting."
"I also think it sounds lovely." Sela agreed with Tusk and Amu with a smile on her face.
Looking over at Yamato, Amu was intrigued as she asked him, "Is there anyone you like and want to spend your day with tomorrow, Yamato-kun?"
Yamato was shocked and confused at the sudden question as he began coughing and choking on his food.
"Yamato are you okay?" Sela asked.
As he cleared his throat, Yamato replied, "Yeah, I'm fine." He then told Amu, "You can't just suddenly ask a question like that."
"I'm sorry." Amu apologized. She still wanted to know as she asked again, "But, do you?"
He took a moment to think of that answer, slightly looking over at Sela. "Well…" Yamato began. However, before he could answer, the Zyumen's tails began to tingle. With Uncle Mario in the room, they couldn't say what was going on but they all looked to each at each other and knew what to do.
Nodding to Tusk, they all stood up as Yamato told his uncle, "Sorry uncle, something came up."
"Let's go." Tusk said as they all went out the door.
Misao was still in the corner moping as Amu grabbed him and said, "Come on already."
Watching them leave, Mario was just puzzled and confused as he called out, "Hey! Who's gonna help me clean?!" However they were already far gone. He then signed and began on his own.
In the city, the Deathgalien was running around with an army of Moebas behind her. While moving throughout the city, she used her powers on people as they tried to run away. As they were struck by their power, they began attacking the closest person to them. As the people continued to attack each other, the Deathgalien laughed as she said, "Yes, let your hate flow and destroy each other."
As the zyuohgers arrived, they were shocked to see the people fighting each other. Confused, Leo wondered, "What the hell is going on here?"
"I don't know." Tusk replied.
Walking over to the people, they tried to break away the people from each other. As Yamato tried to pull a man off of his wife, he told him, "Stop. You shouldn't be fighting."
However, the man would not stop as he knocked Yamato and yelled, "Stay out of this! This has nothing to do with you!"
The other zyuohgers were having the same problem as they were knocked back by the civilians.
"They're so strong." Sela commented.
"What's causing them to have this sudden rage?" Amu wondered.
Taking a look around, Misao saw the Deathgalien infect another person. "Over there!" He pointed out to the others.
It didn't take long for them to notice it and the Moebas. They then ran over it as Yamato yelled, "Stop there, Deathgalien!"
As the monster turned to them, she announced, "Finally. It is a pleasure to meet you, Zyuohgers. My name is Poison-Talon. Now that you're here my little game of hearts can finally begin."
"We'll play no part in any game of yours." Tusk called out.
"Whatever you're doing to these people it stops right now." Sela added on.
"Alright guys let's go!" Yamato yelled.
Pulling out the champion symbols, the cubes chanted "EAGLE! SHARK! LION! ELEPHANT! TIGER! THE WORLD!"
"Hon'no Kakusei!" They all yelled.
Moving the henshin devices in motion, they each transformed into their Zyuohger suits.
"Monarch of the Open Skies! Zyuoh Eagle!" Yamato called moving his body in the pose of the eagle.
"Monarch of the Wild Seas! Zyuoh Shark!" Sela called moving her body in the pose of the shark.
"Monarch of the Savanna! Zyuoh Lion!" Leo called moving his body into the pose of the lion.
"Monarch of the Deep Forest! Zyuoh Elephant!" Tusk called moving his body into the pose of the elephant.
"Monarch of the Snow Fields! Zyuoh Tiger!" Amu called moving his body into the pose of the tiger.
"Monarch of the World! Zyuoh The World!" Misao called moving his body into his pose.
As Yamato swung his EagRiser, the team all shouted together, "Dobutsu Sentai Zyuohger!"
The Deathgalien was intrigued by them as she said, "Interesting, now, show me what you can do." Snapping her finger, she ordered the Moebas, "Get him." The Moebas then began charging towards the Zyuohgers.
Kneeling down into a charging position, the Zyuohgers ran towards their opponents and splitting up, they began taking on the Moebas single handedly.
Swinging his blade around as a whip, Yamato slashed through the Moebas. As some didn't fall, he charged towards them and landed a series of hard strikes to knock them down. Yelling "Yasei Kaihou!" Yamato unlocked his bird wings as he flew through the Moebas slashing at them.
Swinging her legs around, Sela landed a series of kicks towards the Moebas. Getting low to leg sweep one, getting down on her hands, she kicked one below in the jaw. Standing back up, she kicked another. There was one behind her that she easily hit with her elbow as she continued fighting.
Jumping onto one, Leo tripped one of the Moebas and clawed at him. As they continued fighting, Leo, Sela, Tusk, and Amu yelled out, "Yasei Kaihou!" Unleashing their beast parts. Leo and Amu's claws, Tusk's feet and Sela's fin. As Leo kept fighting he charged forward and charged through the Moebas.
Stomping his feet on the ground, Tusk sent a charge towards the Moebas. Knocking some of them down. Running towards the others, Tusk his wild buster, he slashed through the other Moebas.
Using her claws, Amu slashed through her squad of Moebas. Grabbing one, she got down and dragged it through the ground. As she got back up she slashed two more. As one tried to slash at her, she back flipped back and sent a powerful slash knocking down multiple of them.
Using his fishing rod, Misao whipped around the Moebas. Reeling one in and landing a high kick as it got close enough. The impact knocking the Moebas into two others. Lifting his helmet, Misao yelled, "Hon'no Kakusei!" Switching his power from the rhino to the wolf. The rod also turning into a blaster. Swinging it around, he walked towards the Moebas. He then began shooting at the Moebas knocking each of them around.
While they were fighting, the Deathgalien was intrigued by them. Thinking to herself, 'Their courage, their strength. So righteous and true and good. You truly will be a good target.' She then pointed her blaster arm towards them. Grunting, she unleashed a blast towards the Zyuohgers direction.
As they were in the middle of battle, the Zyuohgers were unaware of the incoming blast. Turning around, Yamato saw the incoming projectile but even with his sword, he felt the full effect of the blast as he fell back.
Finishing off the Moebas, the others could see their friend and leader fall. "Yamato!" They all yelled in concern. They then ran over to help him.
Feeling something inside of him, Yamato yelled in pain. As it took full effect, his eyes turned to black inside his helmet as the pain subsided.
As Misao and Sela kneeled down to help him, Misao asked, "Yamato. Are you okay?"
Standing back up, Yamato suddenly turned around and slashed at them with his sword knocking them out. In shock, Leo, Amu and Tusk helped them. As Misao and Sela tried to get back up, Sela began to ask, "Yamato, why did you-?"
The Deathgalien simply laughed and explained to them, "That is the power of of my talon sting. I have infected Zyuoh Eagle with my parasite, taking away his good heart and bending it to my will. Now, Zyuohger, you will meet your end by the hands of your own teammate."
"What?" Tusk replied. The others had the same worry and confusion on their faces under their helmets.
Lifting his sword up and gripping it with both hands, Yamato blindly charged toward his team. The team was unprepared as Yamato striked as each of them and knocked them down.
As he went for a straight down strike at Tusk, the Zyuoh Elephant managed to grab the sword with his hands and move it away giving him the chance to strike as he kicked Yamato making him back away. Yamato stepping back, but still remaining on his feet.
Taking a minute, the team got back up and regrouped. As Tusk helped Amu back up, she said, "This isn't good. What are we going to do?"
"We need to wear Yamato down." Tusk suggested taking charge.
"But we can't hurt him. Corrupted or not, he's still our friend." Sela reminded him.
"I know." Tusk told Sela.
"For once I agree with Tusk, we don't have much of a choice." Leo said standing ready for whatever Yamato would throw at them.
They didn't have much more time to discuss a plan as Yamato began another charge. As they each dodged Yamato's swings, Yamato didn't seem to have much strategy or style. He was mostly attacking wildly with no control. As they continued to dodge, Leo pulled out his wild buster and was able to block him. Moving forward, he managed to knock the sword out of his hand. However, Yamato straight up punched Leo in the face. As he was punched back, Leo grunted, "Ow." However, Yamato continued attacking as Leo blocked his punches and kicks.
Moving from behind, Sela managed to grab hold of him as she pleaded, "Yamato, that's enough, stop it!"
Leo grabbed hold of his other side as Yamato struggled to break free. "That's right, we're your friends." They wouldn't be able to keep hold of him forever as he called, "Now!"
As Tusk and Amu prepared their Zyuoh shoot's, Tusk said, "Sorry Yamato."
However, just as they fired, Yamato called out, "Yasei Kaihou!" Summoning his wings as he knocked Leo and Sela away. Flying forward, he charged and struck Tusk, Amu, and Misao.
The team weren't done as they got back up, however, Yamato easily blocked a punch from Misao, then giving him a headbutt.
Taking out his eagle riser, he extended it and continuously struck at his team, knocking them down. Still able to stand, Misao got up and yelled "Yasei Dai Kaihou!" Summoning the horns of the rhino, claw of the wolf on one hand, and tail of the crocodile on the other hand. He then charged towards Yamato slashing at them. This time, he was able to knock him down. However, Yamato was still able to fight as he got back up and lifted his faceplate, "Hon'no Kakusei!", switching his powers from the Eagle to the gorilla. Swinging at Misao, he landed a series of punches towards Misao as his powers were turned back to normal and knocking him back to the team.
"Misao!" Amu said as she went over to help him. The others got back up and tried to get through to their friend. However, the gorilla's power was too great for them as he knocked each of them down with one punch. Tusk made an attempt as he blocked the punch with his arms, the force still pushing Tusk back. Using his other hand, Yamato handed a punch knocking Tusk back.
Finishing the attack, Yamato used all of his force to send a massive charge towards the team. As they were all injured and knocked down onto the ground, they were all demorphed into their human forms. The Deathgalien, who had been watching the entire fight, laughed at their weakness. "Just as I figured, you weaklings cannot bring yourselves to hurt your friend."
As they just barely managed to stand, Tusk told the team, "This is bad. Let's retreat for now." The others did not argue as they ran and left.
Ginis and the other Deathgalien leaders had seen all of the events from the citizens attacking each other, the Zyuohger attacking each other and then Zyuoh Eagle being corrupted and then attacking his own team. They were most intrigued as they watched.
Azald laughed as he said, "How brilliant. The Zyuohgers are now weakened, and without all of them together, they will soon fall one by one."
Looking over to Ginis, Naria asked, "Does the Deathgalien actions please you, Ginis-sama?"
He was in his usual position, Ginis answered, "Yes. However, what intrigues me more is the Zyuohgers being defeated by one of their own. Naria, I want to see more. This will be an entertaining game."
"Yes, Genius-sama." Naria replied bowing.
Still sitting in chair, Ginis lifted his head and laughed while thinking to himself, "How ironic."
On Earth, the sun was beginning to set as the bright sky turned red. Inside Yamato and Mario's house, the team were all frustrated and upset. Not only handed a defeat in battle, but one of their own teammates had been taken and their defeat was by his hands. They were also concerned about Yamato. What he was being made to do or how that would affect him.
In rage, Leo punched his hand on the wall as he yelled, "Man! I can't believe that happened! Next time we see that Deathgalien, I'll clobber her!"
"Calm down, Leo." Tusk told him. "Shouting in anger won't solve anything."
"How could I possibly be calm?! You saw what happened! They somehow turned Yamato against us and we got our butts kicked!"
The others knew how Leo felt but even still, they couldn't just charge in half caught. "Tusk is right, we need to keep our heads and think. Getting Yamato back is our first priority." Sela said.
"That's right. Yamato would do the same if it were any of us." Misao agreed with her.
As they tried to think of what to do, Amu asked, "Tusk, is there any way we can snap him back to his sense?"
He tried to think of a way but unfortunately admitted, "I don't know. We're not sure exactly what the Deathgalien infected Yamato with. I would need a sample of that parasite and find a way to reverse it. We don't have that kind of time."
"Then we'll just need to find another way and then we can bring Yamato back." Leo said determined. `
The Zyuohgers at the moment, no more than Sela as she suddenly stood up and walked towards the door. As they all saw her walk away, Amy asked, "Sela-kun, where are you going?"
Without looking at them, Sela answered, "I just need a minute alone." None of the others stopped her as Sela left out the door. They knew she needed some space. The other Zyuohgers then got to thinking of a plan of what should they do.
Outside, Sela walked out on the balcony and needed a moment alone to think. Looking at the forest, Sela said, "Yamato, you would never want to hurt us like you did before, right?"
Her mind went to all the times they had spent together. From the moment Yamato came to Zyuland and met them, and all of the time they had fought and spent time together as they lived with Yamato and his Uncle Mario. But now, Yamato was their enemy thanks to that Deathgalien's power. It almost made Sela sick to her stomach thinking of what the Deathgaliens would be making Yamato do. No matter what, Sela knew in her heart that Yamato was their best friend and would never want to hurt any of them. But what could they do? How could they possibly get Yamato back to his senses?
Sela tried to think of what to do. Not hearing the door open and footsteps coming toward her, turning, it was only Uncle Mario as he announced, "So this is where you are?" She simply nodded in response.
He noticed that Sela had a tear in her eye as he asked in concern, "You look upset, what's wrong?"
Feeling it, Sela quickly brushed it off and grinned as she answered, "It's nothing."
Mario didn't quite believe her but he decided to let it slide. "Alright. You guys ran out so suddenly I decided to take care of some house work. Speaking of which, where is Yamato? I thought he was out here with you."
Coming up with a quick lie, Sela said, "Yamato got a call of a rare animal sitting up in the mountains so he went with a team to investigate."
"Rare animal? Well guess they needed an expert like my nephew." He then told Sela, "If there's anything bothering you, just let me know."
Sela took a minute to think about it as before Mario went back inside, she told him, "Actually, Yamato and I had an argument." She couldn't tell the truth but she could find a way around it. If anyone knew Yamato best, it was his uncle. And she honestly needed some advice. "It was stupid but Yamato seemed really mad at me and I don't know how to apologize. It was really stupid."
"Yamato, mad at you?" Mario wondered. "I highly doubt it was that bad and Yamato can never stay mad at anyone. I particularly doubt he'd be mad at you."
"Why's that?" Sela asked.
Thinking about it with a grin on his face, Mario told Sela, "Yamato told me once."
"Eh?" Sela said confused.
"He said he always liked how you act tough and in control, and you don't let anyone see you upset."
"I see. Why did Yamato tell you all of this?"
"Don't know. But if I were to guess, I think my nephew has a soft spot for you. And I've always said, if friends work together they can accomplish anything. You don't need to apologize to Yamato for anything, he'll understand."
As Sela nodded, she suddenly felt her tail back out.
Running outside, Leo yelled "Sela! There's a-" but suddenly stopped seeing Mario was there. "Ahaha. I mean, Sela we should get Yamato and get groceries for dinner."
"Huh? You're leaving again?" Mario wondered.
Leaving, Sela replied, "We'll be back soon. Thank you." She then joined Leo and the other Zyumen as they headed out.
As Leo and the others headed out, Leo sighed and said, "That was close."
"Says the one who almost shouted Deathgalien, idiot." Sela replied in an angered tone.
"Who are you calling an idiot?" Leo said.
"You did almost let it slip." Amu agreed.
"Not you too, Amu."
"Will you all focus, we still have a major issue to worry about." Tusk said as they kept running. "Sela, the rest of us were thinking of a way to get Yamato back."
"Did you come up with anything?"
"Yeah. It's not easy but if we beat Yamato, the parasite should leave his body seeing it is no longer useful."
"Eh?! What the hell kind of a plan is that!?" Sela replied in a concerned tone.
"That's what I said." Misao agreed. "I honestly don't like it either, but we don't have a lot of options. As long as that thing is in his body, he won't be able to hear us."
"Still, it's a lot easier said than done. Let's not forget Yamato has the powers of Eagle, Larry's Gorilla power, and the powers of the Zyuoh Whale."
"We'll find a way. We have to if we want to get Yamato back."
As they kept running, Sela didn't say anything else. It pained her to possibly hurt their friend but if that was their only choice, she couldn't refuse. They had to get Yamato back and Sela had something to tell him.
Downtown the city, the Deathgalien was letting the Moebas chasing around people throughout the streets. Being bored, she said up and said out loud, "Huh, hearing you lifeforms screaming is so boring. I'd prefer to hear your rage." Standing up, she began to shoot at civilians with her parasite. However, she stopped and turned around to the sound of someone saying, "Stop right there!"
It was Tusk, as the Zyuohgers showed up to stop her. Ready for a fight, Leo said, "We've just had about enough of you."
"How dare you mess with people's hearts like this!" Misao added.
"No matter what you do, we won't let you defeat us. Not now, not ever." Amu said.
"You crossed a line, taking our friend. Give us Yamato back!" Sela concluded.
Intrigued, the Deathgalien replied, "You want him? Here you go." As the Deathgalien stepped to the side, Yamato, still morphed as Zyuoh Eagle, stepped forward with a squad of Moebas behind him.
The team was ready as Tusk said, "Everyone, let's go!"
As they each pulled out their champion symbol, each device called, 'Shark! Lion! Elephant! Tiger! The World!'
They each then yelled out "Hon'no Kakse!" Twisting the symbols, they each unlocked their powers as their suits manifested onto their bodies.
Snapping her fingers, she ordered the Moebas, "Get them."
The Moebas running and charging forward at them in response. Without any hesitation or holding back, the team unleashed their Animal Instincts as they called, "Yasei Kaiho!" Misao lifting his helmet to unleash the wolf. They then ran towards their opponents.
The fight broke out as Yamato pulled out his sword to join in the fray, however, he was stopped by the Deathgalien as she told him, "Wait. Not just yet." She wanted them to be distracted for now.
With fast speed, Leo and Amu slashed through the Moebas. Tusk kicking his way through another group of 4 or 5. Sela was jumping and spinning her way through. Misao was using his rod to smack through the remaining couple. As he took out the claw of the wolf, the others charged up their final charges as they beat and destroyed the Moebas. However, as Tusk turned around, Yamato flew in and landed a strike at Tusks chest knocking him back onto the ground.
As Tusk was knocked back, the others ran over to help him. "Tusk!" Amu yelled. She helped him back up, as Yamato continued slashing at his team. The others dodging the strikes, seeing his movements, Leo took out his sword and blocked some of the strikes.
"Yamato, knock it off! It's us!" Leo pleaded.
Amu joined to help him, however, Yamato was able to get the upper hand and knocked the two of them down. Before he could hurt them, Tusk and Sela blasted at Yamato.
Needing to think of a plan, Tusk said, "We can't keep fighting like this. We need another plan."
Sela agreed as she nodded and suggested, "I'll hold Yamato off. You guys take care of the Deathgalien. Maybe that'll knock Yamato back to his senses."
"You sure?" Tusk asked
"Yes." Sela replied.
Going to the side, Tusk, Amu, and Leo made their way towards the Deathgalien. She nearly chuckled as she told the remaining four, "You think you can stop me? Go right ahead." Tusk, Leo, Amu and Misao than ran forward to fight her.
As Yamato swung his sword at Sela, she used her own to block the strike and was able to hold the weight. Using enough force to push Yamato back a few feet, making him lower his sword, she used her other hand as she grabbed his shoulder and told him, "Yamato, I know you can hear me. I know this isn't you. You would never hurt us and you're strong enough not to let yourself controlled like this." Her words were useless as Yamato kneed her and slashed at her while she was down as he went for another strike, Sela kicked the sword out of her hand. Yamato then grabbed her by the neck but Sela kicked him back. "Yamato come back to us, I don't want to hurt you!" She pleaded.
Meanwhile, Sela was fighting Yamato, the Deathgalien was trying to shoot her parasites at the remaining four Zyuohgers. Them each dodging and blocking each of her shots. Gaining an opportunity, the team took out their blasters and shot at her and knocking her down. Misao using the power of the crocodile to shoot with the others. As the Deathgalien tried to stand up, she said, "Tsk. You zyuohgers are irritating. Zyuoh Eagle, finish them off." Unleashing his wings, Yamato came from behind and struck at each of his friends knocking them down. Yamato then landed as Sela rejoined them. Yamato then yelled out, "Hon'no Kakusei!" Switching to the power of the Gorilla.
As he tried to land a punch on them, Leo tried to counter with a punch of his own but the Gorilla's raw strength was much tougher. "Ow!" Leo said shaking his hand. However while his guard was down, Yamato then landed another punch, sending Leo flying back.
"Yasei Dai Kaihou!" Misao yelled unleashing all three of his Zyuman powers. He then charged towards Yamato with his final strike, however, he was able to take the hit as he then countered and knocked Misao down. The others tried to fight Yamato back as well but they were each beat down to the ground.
"Are you okay?" Misao said going over to Sela and helping her up.
"Yeah." She answered, "But that Deathgalien has completely shut him off from us."
The Deathgalien chuckled as she said, "That is right. I have closed off your friend's heart. Your connection and friendship has been reversed into hate. It will be the thing that will end up destroying all of you."
"We won't give up that easily." Amu said. "If you think Yamato can't break through this, you don't know him or us at all."
"What?" The Deathgalien asked.
Misao yelled as he stood up, "You're strong. You can convert love and compassion into hatred and rage. But, we will always stay the same! No matter what!"
"That's right! Our connection and friendship is nothing that can't be completely be destroyed." Leo agreed. "Yamato is our friend who always had our backs!"
"He brought us together to defend this planet that we will gladly lay our lives down for!" Tusk yelled.
"Yamato freed me from Ginis' control, and gave me confidence to fight!" Misao yelled.
"No matter what, we're one big family who can never be separated!" Amu yelled.
The Deathgalien laughed as she told them. "How useless. Emotions you lower lifeforms have are so small and futile. They make you nothing but weak and worthless pray. Zyuoh Eagle, hurry up and finish the Zyuohgers off."
Pulling out the whale champion symbol, Yamato transformed into his Zyuoh Whale form.
"Ah crap, this isn't good." Leo said as they were ready for whatever Yamato would throw at him.
"We can't give up now." Sela said. "We owe Yamato too much."
"We will take Yamato back! No matter what!" Misao yelled.
Yamato activated the gun one the symbol as he began walking towards them firing shots. As he fired, he managed to hit all of them except Sela, who rolled forward through the attacks, and pulled out her Buster. She charged towards Yamato, and as he sliced at her, she managed to intercept and push his weapon down, allowing her to gain some momentum. She said, "Yamato, come back to us! Come back to me!" However, her words had no effect as he kneed her in the chest, then kicked her back. She tried again, this time putting all of her emotions into her words. "Yamato, I know this isn't you! The others were right. The Yamato I know is kind, compassionate and is always willing to protect those he cares about. That is the Yamato I LOVE!"
For a second, Yamato hesitated but the Deathgalien still had strong control over Yamato's mind as he shot at her, forcing her back.
"Sela!" Leo said, helping her up.
Tusk yelled, "Yamato, stop it!" as he pulled out his Buster, and charged at Yamato. However, Yamato managed to gain an upper hand in the swordfight, and sliced Tusk back.
Amu ran over to him, and asked him as she helped him up, "Are you ok?" Tusk nodded, though he was clearly hurt having a hand where he was slashed.
Misao then reunleashed his animal powers as he tried another charge towards Yamato and managed to lift him into the air, but Yamato safely landed and rolled back.
Amu joined in the fight as she shot at Yamato, however he managed to block it, and charge towards her. He managed to kick her back, making her roll back. Tusk and the others stood in front of her as Yamato began his attack.
Charging a final strike, he shot it towards the team and despite trying to block it, the team took the full force of the blast as the blasted engulfed them. As he lowered the gun, all five of them collapsed to the ground unconscious. The Deathgalien laughed as she looked at the defeated heroes and said, "How pathetic. You lifeforms relying on love, compassion and friendship to overcome my spell. You failed just as I expected."
All of a sudden, Yamato could feel something inside. His heart being in pain and his eyes shedding tears.
Yamato said in utter shock, "W-what have I done?" Putting a hand on Yamato's shoulder, the Deathgalien said, "Well done. Master Ginis will be very pleased."
Feeling the pain and guilt in his heart, Yamato reawakened as he knocked the Deathgalien off of him and in rage, he shot a blast at the Deathgalien, damaging her. As she was down and injured, Yamato turned around and rushed over to his team. "Sela, guys!" He yelled.
While holding onto Sela's hand, he used his other one to feel her pulse. He then let out a sigh of relief as he thought, "Still breathing. Thank Kami-sama!" The others were still alive and breathing as well. Throughout the tears and guilt, he felt his anger grow as he yelled, "You're gonna pay for what you made me do, Deathgalien!"
However, the Deathgalien laughed and shot him back, forcing him to de-transform. "Don't make me laugh boy, even if I don't use my parasites on you, there is no way you can beat me."
Yamato immediately got back up and then said, "Don't count on it! I will definitely beat you for what you made me do to my friends! Completely unforgivable!"
He then transformed again into his Whale form, and said, "The Monarch Among Monarchs! Zyuoh Whale!" Deathgalien, this is your end. What you've made me do to my own friends is horrible beyond reason. Now, prepare to face judgment." He then angrily shouted and charged at Poison Talon with all his might.
However, even without her parasites, Poison Talon was still physically strong as she constantly knocked Yamato back, blow after blow. She continued to laugh and mock him as he charged at her with all his rage coursing inside.
"Is that the best you got, you pathetic lesser?" Poison Talon asked. "You pitiful humans don't have the same strength as us. Once I destroy you, this world is free game."
Then, she unleashed a powerful attack from her whip made of roses and thorns striking at Yamato with full force, causing him to collapse on the ground, detransformed and injured.
Waking up, Sela could see that Yamato was in trouble. "Yamato!" She yelled. Using her last bit of strength, she took her champion symbol and said, "I will not allow you to hurt him anymore. Champion symbol, please let me send some of my zyuman power to Yamato and help him win."
Having a tight grip on her champion symbol, her her hands began to glow and reaching them out, she bestowed her power to Yamato. As he got back up, he could feel the power flow through him and his whale form begin to change. Feeling the surge, Yamato shouted, "AAAHHH! HONO KAKUSEI!" However, as he trasnformed, the color of the suit became more orange and feral, and he manifested sharp fins and teeth on the helmet. Peforming hid call, Yamato said, "The deadliest hunter of all monarchs, Zyuoh Killer Whale."
As the others woke up, they were surprised by Yamato's new form.
"What the hell is that?!" Leo asked.
"How should I know." Misao replied. Tusk and Amu were also confused as to the new form.
Yamato then turned to Poison Talon and shouted, " You got lucky, before. But now, deathgalien, you will pay the price for tearing apart the bonds between all these people. Let's see how you handle the might of two powers combined." He then lashed at poison talon.
She shot at him but Yamato just breezed off all her attacks sending them back at her and extending his blades on his fins, charging them up full of power, and slashing Poison Talon through her chest. As she felt the full force of the strike, Poison Talon was morally wounded and her body began to spark and self destruct, "Aaaaahh, noo! You … how can it be possible for a lesser lifeform like you … overcame me …"
Looking at her, Yamato answered, "You underestimated the powers you have when friends come together. The connection gives you the ability to overcome anything." To finish her off, Yamato he used the whale champion symbol to charge up a tremendous blast. Growling, Yamato shouted, "Hunter finish!" Firing the shot, there was a large beam that pierced his body and destroyed her. Poison Talon collapsing to the ground and being destroyed in a fiery explosion.
The rest of the deathgalien generals had seen the entire battle as they saw Poison Talon go down in flames. They were all shocked and unamused that they had lost. Turning to her master, Naria asked, "Ginis-sama, shall I give her a continue?"
Sitting in his usual spot, Ginis replied, "No. That was entertaining enough. We shall let the Zyuohgers have this small victory." The other generals agreed to their master's request.
As the deathgalien was finally defeated, Yamato suddenly felt weak and dropped down onto one knee, as he de -transformed and caught his breath. And then for a moment, he was taken by surprise as he could hear someone say, "Yamato."
It was Sela's voice as Yamato turned around to see the others standing conscious, though beaten and bruised, they were all relatively alright. Yamato returning the smile Sela also had on her face.
However, as he took a step toward to them, Yamato collapsed from exhaustion. The others then running to his aid as they collectively yelled in concern, "Yamato!"
There was a slight breeze coming from an open window. As Yamato slow opened his eyes, he had no idea what happened after he collapsed. Slowly moving, Yamato look around and slowly sat up as he grunted. He then realized he was back home in his uncle's house. There were a lot of questions going on in Yamato's head at the moment. As he turned his head, he could suddenly hear the door open. It was only his uncle Yamato. "Ooh, thank goodness! You're finally awake!"
"Uncle," Yamato replied, "what happened?" he looked to see bandages on his chest and waist
Putting the tray of food and water down, Mario explained, "the others said there was an accident while you were out working. You were unconscious and worn out when they carried you were completely out of it for two days, we were all worried sick."
"Eh?" Yamato asked.
Patting him on the shoulder, Mario said, "it's alright now. You're home safe." He then smiled a bit as he said, "though no one was more than her," pointing to the side of the room.
Looking in that direction, Yamato could see that Sela was resting in a chair. Mario then said, "Sela hardly left the room. She was worried and anxious for when you would wake up."
"She was the one who helped me get out of that accident." Yamato bluffed to Mario. "I remember that much. She must be exhausted. Where are Tusk and the others?" he asked.
"They went out for some groceries and medical supplies in case you haven't recovered yet. They should be back soon."
"Oh, good." he said, relieved.
Then, Yamato remembered somet, "oh, crap. Where did I leave it?" He suddenly jumped up out of bed but accidentally fell over onto the floor which woke Sela up.
"Ah, Yamato!" She announced and helped him up. "What are you doing? You shouldn't be moving. He looked up to see Sela standing.
"Sorry, I just need to grab something." Yamato replied as Sela helped him up. "Please help me."
As she put an arm around his shoulder, Sela nodded in agreeance, Mario smiling at the two of them. Yamato then asked, "Sela, could you walk me to the other room? I think I forgot something in there. It's important."
Not questioning him, Sela replied, "Okay." She then walked him to the door and into the living room. As they entered the room, Yamato took a look around to see if he could find what he was looking for. However, he was interrupted as the others coming and enter the room. Them all surprised to see Yamato up and out of bed. "Yamato!?" Tusk said in surprise.
In tears, Micchan said, "Yamato, I'm so happy your not dead." Running up to Yamato but giving him a painful hug."
"Ow, ow ow!" Yamato grunted.
"Misao be careful, he's still injured." Sela reminded him.
He then nodded and said, " Oh ...I only hurt Yamato worse ..I'm a horrible person." He then backed away and pouted.
"It's fine. I'm glad you're all alright as well." Yamato told Misao with a smile.
"MAN DUDE WHY MUST YOU BE SO ANNOYING!" Leo shouted.
Tusk then kicked Leo, saying, "Show some sympathy for once you idiot."
Kneeling down by Yamato, Amu asked, "are you feeling okay?"
Yamato nodded and replied, "yeah. But are you all okay as well? I'm sorry about everything. I would never hurt you guys. I hate myself for what that deathgalien for what she made me to."
Nodding, Sela replied, "it's fine. We know you wouldn't hurt us."
Amu agreed and said, "she's right. We're okay."
Patting Yamato on the back, Leo told him, "Of course we're fine. We wouldn't go down that easily. But man did you cause us a lot of trouble." Tusk kicked him again.
"Ow, what the hell!" Leo grunted rubbing his back.
"What Leo's trying to say is that we forgive you for what you did under that witches spell" Tusk elaborated.
Amu then took something out of her pocket and told Yamato, "By the way, I noticed you dropped this earlier. Don't know what's it's for but it seemed important so I held onto it." Amu then handed it back. It was a small red box. Yamato's face then flared red in embarrassment
Taking it back, Yamato said, "thanks, Amu."
She nodded and said, "don't worry about it."
Sela looking at the box asked , "yamato, is that what you were looking for?"
"Yeah." Yamato. He then handed it over to Sela as he told her, "this is for you."
Micchan, saddened said, "Oh. So you didn't get me a red box." He said crotching.
"Uh… Micchan I was sure to get you a gift. But … um … this one is … a bit different…" Yamato tried to explain. He then thought "This would have been easier if Sela and I were alone like I planned."
Sela was confused as she looked at the box and asked, "this is for me? I wonder…" She then opened it and was surprised by it. It was a necklace with the shape of a dolphin. Sela was shocked as her face began to fill with tears and joy.
"Ah, how beautiful." Amu said seeing it.
"Yamato…" Sela said not knowing how to respond.
"I wanted to get you something special for you." Yamato explained. "I hope you like it."
Nodding, Sela replied, "I love it."
Walking into the room, Mario mentioned, "It was my idea for the necklace. I thought my nephew and Sela would make a cute couple."
Looking at the necklace, Tusk said, "I see. So a necklace would be way to show your affection in this world."
Amu smiled and said, "how lovely." Both Yamato and Sela blushed, knowing what to say.
"What a lovey and sappy present. If you wanted to tell a girl you like her you just-" Leo went on but he was interrupted by Amu who hit him. "Shut it!" Amu yelled him. She then told Yamato and Sela, "I think it's very sweet."
Realizing it, Micchan said, "I see… Yamato has feelings for Sela. It's nice to have feelings for someone." He then held both of their hands as he said, "I know you two will make each other happy." He then felt doubt in himself as he said, "no one would never love someone like me." Sela and Yamato were slightly confused but let it slide.
"Will you quite it with the self-pity?!" Leo asked with a raised eyebrow.
Sela then asked Yamato, "could you help me put this on please?"
Looking over at her, Yamato nodded and replied, "sure."
As Sela turned her around while she was sitting down, Yamato put the necklace around her neck. The two then turning around and smiling at each other.
"By the way, Yamato. I believe it's only fair you do something to repay us for all the trouble you put us through. You had us worried sick you know." Tusk brought up.
Yamato nodded and agreed as he replied, "Of course. Whatever you guys want."
"Well in that case you need to treat us to lunch!" Leo suggested.
"I suggest you take us all going to the library one day." Tusk said.
Blushing, Sela said, "For me … I'd be fine with a date."
Leo was surprised as he said, "are you serious? Since when do you like dates Sela? You would always turn me down when I ask."
"That's because a loud and obnoxious person like you isn't my type." Sela responded to him.
"You really are that dense aren't you." Tusk said.
"I think Sela and Yamato make a cute couple." Amu said.
"I know right!" Mario yelled and agreed from his study room now in a pig costume.
"I hope someone loves me one day." Micchan said.
"Hey, cheer up. I'm sure we can find you someone." Amu said.
"Amu is right. No one is meant to stay alone." Tusk agreed.
As Yamato and Sela held hands, looking into each other's eyes gazing, they were happy. Yamato then looked at the others as they continued the conversation, and he felt at home. With all of his friends and the people he cared about. The deathgaliens are still at large and will continue to put them through hell. But for today, they have a victory in having each other. And more importantly, Yamato and Sela finally knew how they felt about each other.
