Chapter 1 (Chat With The Devil)

Five More Minutes.

That all it would take for her life to go back to normal, five more minutes, and she could put the past to rest. Answering all the questions, and all it took was to negotiate with the devil. Take his twisted delusional words, to find the grain of truth from his fantasies. And bringing calm to the tsunami of emotions inside her. Trixie Tang had only five more minutes before the world she knew could return to normal, five more minutes that all it would take. A month ago her entire world had been shattered, and everything she knew was thrown into the bin of history. A month ago, all the stars in the universe disappeared, a month ago and an evil black mass attacked the earth. That day revealed hidden emotions, and now she had to act like it didn't happen. "Trixie are you okay?" Trixie turned her head towards her blonde haired best-friend who was looking at her puzzled.

"Ya. Why?"

Veronica bit her bottom lip, and thought about her next words carefully. "Well you've been staring at the clock intensely. And lately you've been…." She cut herself off trying to find the right words. Trixie rolled her eyes, her best friend wasn't the brightest tool in the shed.

"And lately I've been..?"

"Acting weird." She finally uttered it out, and Trixie looked at her puzzled. "You've been staring and acting like...well you know. Like there's something you want, and can't have. And sometimes you stare in Turner's direction." Veronica lowered her voice, so that neither Tad or Chad would hear them. "And you've been a little agitated lately"

"Why must you remind me?" Trixie sighed and sank lower into the spinning chaos of her emotions. It isn't something, it's somebody. She thought to herself, but didn't say it out loud. Ever since the event a month ago, she wanted him. From that simple kiss he was always somewhere in his mind.

"Remind you of what?" Veronica asked, "And Trixie don't space out again."

"What do you mean?"

Veronica was playing with her blond locks trying to choose her next words. "Well you

sometimes space out in the middle of conversations. Like you start thinking about something, and like never respond."

"Okay, what's your point?"

"My point is that you're acting weird." She said smiling, "And I'm worried about you. Anything I can like help you with." Veronica said with a smile as she shoved her stuff into the white backpack she had that matched her white turtleneck shirt. Trixie shook her head, and the two went silent, Trixie was searching for something.

"So let's say you know somebody's secret, but if you tell anybody bad things happen. What would you do?" Trixie turned her blue eyes towards her best friend who smiled at her. She seemed ecstatic when Trixie asked the question. Trixie herself was never one for giving up secrets that easily, but any advice would be welcomed.

"Well that's simple." Veronica chuckled at this question, "It depends on the person. If you hate them, reveal it, if you like them you keep it. And if you like to think they're okay, you use it as blackmail." Veronica said with a mischievous smile on her face. "Like Tad has a wart on his butt. And before you ask I know a lot of things about all you guys. That's just like the friend I am."

"I don't wanna know," Trixie said, and turned away from her best friend who went silent back towards the front of the room. The devil was standing at the chalkboard lecturing to a bunch of kids that didn't care. It was a sunny day outside, and everyone wanted out which irritated Crocker. Glancing at the clock, she had only two minutes left of school. Two minutes to enlightenment, and till the dance with the devil began.

Crocker was growling with agitation, "Do none of you care? I try my best to teach you, and all you do is mock me!" He snapped the chalk in his hand, and a smile crossed Trixie's face. This is what she wanted to hear, but not from him. "In this world, two plus two equals four, but in one with magic. It could equal fish." Trixie was staring at him with the curiosity normally she would tune him out, but not today. Today was the day she got things back to normal or at least some answers. "Why must I be a miserable middle-aged school teacher? Why do I believe in magical little creatures? I claim to be an expert, but have never caught one. One day I'll rule the world! Stair at the board for the last two minutes of class."

"Mr. Crocker, wait!" The devil turned towards her, she wouldn't allow this to slip past her. It took a month of building up her will to talk to him, she needed the answers and she wasn't going to wait. Her friends glanced at her, and Trixie stood up from her desk, "I need to talk to you about my grade." Some of the kids in class groaned hoping for something exciting, and the devil just sighed.

"Meet me in the hall." Veronica looked at her, and Trixie shrugged her shoulders, but didn't say anything. Today was the day the dance began. Stepping into the hallway Trixie took a moment to stare down the hallway; it was mostly empty, and she had only a minute or so left. Anything longer, and it would all be over, the kids would rush, and that was that.

"What seems to be the problem? Did I by chance enter a grade wrong or something?" The devil asked, and Trixie looked at him. She had no choice, talking to him was out of the question. Taking the risk wasn't worth it, this was her one shot, and this would be successful.

"I want to talk to you someplace more private, it's not about my grade." She admitted shyly, "I want to talk to you about… fairy godparents." Looking up from the ground she could see the man was in disbelief. He wore his normal clothes, and he took a moment to go over what she just said. "I recently had a run-in with magical beings, and I believe that they exist. And I think I know somebody in the school who has them. Wow I sound crazy."

"What kind of incident?" Crocker learned his curiosity peaked.

"Memory."

"Very well then Ms. Tang, but if this is some kind of joke by you and your rich friends. I'll make the rest of your existence in my class miserable!" He threatened and grabbed Trixie by the arm, "Follow me. I know a place we can have a "chat" in private about your issue." He said, and Trixie swallowed as she was driven deeper into the devil's lair.

…..

"Wow! What a waste of a perfectly good waste of money. That could be better used on educating us and school supplies instead of all this." Trixie said out loud as she was standing inside the Crocker Cave. Staring at the giant flashing neon sign that said, Crocker Cave. And all the electronics, computers, and other devices "How much have you spent on this place? And the next question is how much time?" She asked the man as he moved a pink mattress back to where the shoot was that landed in the room.

"Well Ms. Tang not all of us are multi-millionaire at the age of ten." He snapped back to her and pulled up a chair. Sitting down he turned towards her, "Now then what do you want to know about Fairy Godparents, and what is this 'memory' problem that made you believe in fairies. And I swear Ms. Tang lied to me and you'll regret it. Let me guess you don't even know what a Fairy Godparent is?" She nodded her head, embarrassed and the devil sighed, turned around, and opened a file. "Well then a Fairy Godparent is…"

Ten Minutes Later

"Okay that satisfies me in many ways, now onto the memory bit. So when a godchild gets old enough or stops believing in godparents he loses them correct?" Crocker nodded his head to Trixie, "Okay, so is there a way for someone to have their memory erase, but retain them? As that's what happened to me." She told him flatly and refused to say anything more than on the subject, and his attempt to poach them out of her failed. "Like are their rules or anything like that?"

"Well I told you already there are rules, and yes magic can erase your memory, but it isn't perfect. There's always bound to be a mistake or some rule that's eluding us that prevented you from losing your memory. Now onto the next part in exchange for this information you've given me I'm requesting your help."

"For?"

"I believe that one Timmy Turner has godparents, but has eluded my capture for months now. He has a deep-seated crush on you, and I want you to help me capture them, and by doing that you can learn about the fairies."

"And if I refuse?"

"Then I'll reveal to all the kids in Dimmesdale about your 'memory' problem. And there goes all your popularity." Trixie frowned, this was the price she paid for making a contract with the devil. "What would your friends think about you talking about magical creatures? That would make your only friend, me, Turner, and his weird friends." Trixie kept up appearances, by rolling her eyes.

"Whatever. I'll help you Mr Crocker, but when this is over things are going back to normal."

"Very well then Ms. Tang." The devil smiled widely, and with that Trixie turned away and left the cave.
