Welcome dear reader to a story that plays in the world Tolkien created.

As the short description tells, this story is about a Fellowship of ten. I have to confess that I am quite new according LotR. I watched the saga, including Hobbit, last year while staying in New Zealand for the first time. I see myself in Faramir that´s why he is my favourite character. However, Aragorn shares my personality type and I do like him quite as much.

First the name of the story came to my mind and I really was torn between write or leave it. Then I thought, just do it and well here we are.

Two very kind reviews said that my writing style is similar to the one of Tolkien.

The Story: A similar story is already online. Cora Brasch´ version is different to mine but really good and worth a read.

The plot: Tough I do not own the idea alone, the plot in general was created by my own. As well, the name of this story. Feel free to take up the idea again but I would ask you to not use material I invented.

Therefore, I neither do own the characters nor the idea of this story, only the plot of my version of the story. Nevertheless, I just love the idea and welcome to my version of Faramir being a part of the Fellowship.

You will find: Content of all members of the Fellowship; Content of the siblings of Rohan; new characters

Indeed: Content of Legolas, Gandalf and Gimli will start around chapter 4. I mostly focus on the men but I do not forget about the others. However, there is not really much content of Frodo, this I have to confess.

However, I am glad you took/ take a look at this story.

Happy reading.

Enjoy.

About men

One might say that the folk of men only seeks power and is selfish, that they are only interested in their own well-being. This might prove right for a few of them but one shouldn't forget that there are men and woman who do not suit in this view of the world.

They would do anything for those they love or those who are in need of help. Others welfare counts more than even their own.

Unfortunately, during the time when Sauron gifted the rings to the men, only power was what they were interested in. What they didn't know at first glance was they were tricked by Sauron and were forced to serve him from now on. Luckily, a bunch of men and elves won the final fight against Sauron himself but not against the one ring. Isildur were supposed to destroy the one ring but failed because he was already charmed by the ring. Karma came and Isildur died far too early. The rest of the story one for sure does know. Gollum was the next possessor and called the ring his precious. He owned it for a long time but the ring betrayed him as well and chose a new owner. Bilbo Baggins found the ring and carried it to Hobbiton. Years passed but then Sauron regained strength again and started his search for the ring. Frodo Baggins, the new ring bearer, started his journey to bring the ring to Rivendell.

Until Frodo began his journey of course the men of the east brought out new descendants. You do know them as well: Aragorn, called strider among the ones who knew him and son of Arathorn.

Denethor, Steward of Gondor, husband of Finduilas and son of Ecthelion II.

Boromir, Captain General of Gondor and son of Denethor.

Faramir, the second son of Denethor and brother to Boromir.

Théoden, mentionable King of Rohan and son of Thengel.

Théodred, only son to Théoden and loved among his folk.

Éomer, cousin of Théoden and a brave soldier of Rohan.

Éowyn, sister to Éomer and a brave Lady of Rohan.

Yes, the men of the east were a memorable folk of Middle Earth. When Frodo began his journey, the men crossed his way as well.

Aragorn met Frodo on the way to Rivendell and guarded him till he reached it.

The brave descendants of Rohan will encounter him soon enough.

Faramir, Captain of the Ithilien Rangers dreamed several times of Isildur's Bane. Not only him, Boromir one time as well. The brothers decided to see their father and hoped to find answers about how to continue. Boromir convinced Denethor to let him go to Rivendell.

Faramir offered to join his brother but was rejected at first. The young Captain knew it was a difficult task to convince his father to let him go as well. Nevertheless, he was eager to not let his brother go alone.
