Seraphina softly sighed as she rearranged books on the shelf. Did he really only pick her to clean his library? Was this her life now? Was she going to be his maid until he deemed her useless?
Kirishima was long gone, after launching himself out the window and flying off. He'd tried to help her at first, but ended up making more of a mess than helping. At least he was polite.
She wiped some dust off some books and glanced through them before setting them on a different shelf. Hopefully this'll help anyone who actually used the library. The castle seemed oddly quiet and lonely despite being open.
Yelling broke the silence, gaining her attention. It swiftly neared, gaining clarity. "What do you mean you 'put her to work'?! That is your library! If you make the mess, clean it up! I taught you better than that, you damn brat!"
She blinked and wiped off her hands, setting down the cloth. "Huh?"
The door slammed open and a woman swiftly walked in, her fur cloak fluttering behind her as Bakugo followed her. The woman looked around and walked over to Seraphina, crossing her arms over her chest. "Is he making you clean his library?"
She nodded slowly, glancing over at Bakugo. "He did tell me my job was to clean the library."
The woman turned to Bakugo, glaring down at him. "You brat! You chose her for a reason and it wasn't to clean! Now, either help her or send her home!"
Seraphina blinked at her, looking at her. "Who... are you? If I may ask?"
Bakugo glared at the woman and ground out, "She's an old bat."
The woman twitched and slapped his head, yelling, "I am your mother! You ungrateful brat!"
Bakugo glared at her. "Shut up!"
The woman glared at him and grabbed Seraphina's arm, pulling her up. "Come with me! Bakugo, you clean up your mess!"
Seraphina softly squeaked as she was pulled up and out the room, Bakugo left fuming in his spot. "Excuse me, but who are you?"
The woman glanced back at her, leading her down the hall. "I'm the brat's mother, Mitsuki. My husband is Masaru. Katsuki is my darling brat of a son and a pain in my ass."
Seraphina nodded slightly. "Okay, I'm Seraphina."
Mitsuki nodded, opened a door to a study. "Come sit. Would you like some tea? A snack?"
Seraphina sat down on a chair, smiling politely. "No thank you, I just had some food."
Mitsuki sat down on the other chair, turning to sit directly from her. "That's good. I assume Kirishima showed you around? He's a nice boy."
Seraphina nodded. "He is nice, but I don't think I'm here for Kirishima."
Mitsuki lightly smirked, settling back. "Smart girl. You know, Katsuki spent quite a bit of time watching you. He's actually happy to have chosen you."
Seraphina shifted sightly. "May I ask something?" Mitsuki waved her hand. "Why am I here? Why was I chosen? Was I really brought here just to clean?"
Mitsuki softly sighed. "No, you aren't here to clean. I don't know why exactly Katsuki chose you, but he is excited to have you here. He's just... bad with people. He doesn't have a lot of friends and he doesn't like people. I apologize, but I do hope you enjoy your time here. We attempt to keep the castle as modern as possible and we can gather your items from home if you'd like."
Seraphina nodded slowly. "I'd like some of my things from home. The bedroom is nice, but it feels too formal."
Mitsuki smiled and stood up. "Thank you, Seraphina. Now, if you ilke reading, the library does have quite a bit of interesting reads. Very rare in some cases."
Seraphina smiled, following her. "Thank you for talking to me, Mitsuki."
Mitsuki smiled widely and squeezed her shoulder, guiding her back.
