Sasha was in the Plumber medical room. She, Rachel and Rook had just defeated Poison Ivy, a dangerous supervillain who came to Bellwood and used her powers to control Swampire, Ultimate Swampire, and Wildvine.
After a grueling battle, Poison Ivy was finally defeated and the aliens were free from her control. But Poison Ivy delivered one final blow to Sasha. She blew a strange powder at Sasha before Rachel gave her the final blow.
Poison Ivy was promptly arrested. And Sasha was sent straight to the infirmary. She had been out cold for a few hours now.
Everyone feared the worst. "Is Sasha going to be okay?" asked Rachel.
A Galvan doctor checked his notes as he came out of the room. "Well, this poison this Ivy woman used was quite impressive...for a human. Anyway, it seems there's no physical problem with Sasha. But it seems to-"
"Where am I?" Sasha's voice said from her room.
"SASHA!" Rachel rushed to the room. There was Sasha! Alive! Rachel hugged her younger sister. "Oh, Sasha! I was so worried! I thought I lost you!"
"Huh?! What?! Who are you?! What are you doing?!" Sasha pried Rachel off of her.
Rachel blinked, beyond confused. "What...?"
Rook came in as well. "Sasha?"
Sasha took one look at Rook and screamed. "AAAAAAAAHHHHH! A MONSTER!" She jumped out of her bed and ran out of the room.
"SASHA! WAIT!" Rachel chased after Sasha. But she found Sasha frozen with fear. She was surrounded by the Plumbers, who stared at Sasha with her messy hair, hospital gown and non-slip socks.
Sasha gazed at the alien faces looking at her in horror. Her pupils shrunk, her heart was racing. She felt like she couldn't breathe. Seeing her sister frozen on the spot, Rachel reached for her. "Sasha?" She put her hand on Sasha's shoulder.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Sasha screamed and bolted out of the hospital! Rachel instinctively followed after her. Whatever was going on with Sasha, Rachel had to catch her before she got hurt. Sasha was a fast runner, faster than Rachel. But seeing her sister in such a state, gave Rachel the boost she needed to finally catch Sasha and tackle her to the ground.
"GET OFF ME! GET OFF ME! GO AWAY!" Sasha yelled, trying to fight her way out of Rachel's arms.
"Sasha! I'm your sister!" Rachel yelled back.
Sasha stopped struggling. She looked at Rachel with large eyes. "S-Sasha? That's my name?"
Rachel gasped. Much to her horror, Sasha was suffering from amnesia. "You...don't know who you are?!"
Sasha looked at the ground, trying to remember anything. But she couldn't. She shook her head no, answering Rachel's question.
Rook ran over to the girls. Sasha squealed and backed away from the alien until her back was against a building. "What is that thing?!"
"Sasha! It's okay!" Rachel said, standing up. "This is Rook! My fiancé!"
"FIANCÉ?!" Sasha shook her head, unable to accept this. "I...I can't handle this!"
"SASHA! WAIT!" Rachel shouted out. But Rook used his Proto tool to lasso Sasha and subdue her.
"NO! LET ME GO! HELP! SOMEBODY HELP MEEEEEE!" Sasha wailed. Rachel's heart tore up hearing her sister's screams. Rook went to Sasha and pinched her nerve, rendering her unconscious.
"What happened to Sasha?!" Rachel asked Rook.
Rook's face looked cold aa ice. "The doctor said Poison Ivy tried to use her spores to control Sasha's mind. But we stopped her before she could take control of Sasha. The Galvan we're able to remove the spores. But it seems Sasha's memory was wiped clean as a result."
Rachel felt like her world came crashing down. Sasha had no memory of her life at all. She didn't know her friends, family, or loves ones anymore.
"We have to take her to the mansion." said Rook.
Fighting back her tears, Sasha nodded.
Sasha woke up. To her confusion, she found herself in...the arms of that furry faced alien from before! Sasha screamed and slapped him across the face. She jumped out of Rook's arms and made a break for it.
"SASHA!" Rook called out. "SOMEONE STOP HER!"
Sasha looked wildly looked around. She waa running down a dark hallway in a home of some kind. Just then, Ghostfreak came up from the floor right in front of Sasha's path.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH! GHOST!" Sasha screamed, running the other way. She tried to find another way but another creature was in her path. It was a huge, orange beast with no eyes, sharp claws, and a huge maw full of sharp teeth.
Sasha screamed and tried to avoid this monster, but the orange beast skillfully pounced and tackled Sasha to the floor. He covered Sasha's mouth to keep her from screaming. Ghostfreak saw Wildmutt had successfully captured Sasha. The alien ghost tied up Sasha with his tentacles and the two brought her to Frankenstrike's lab. They strapped her down to the medical birth and Sasha waa now scared half to death.
"NO! PLEASE! DON'T HURT ME! I'M SORRY! I'M-" Sasha's mouth was covered up by Rachel.
"Sasha, please. You lost your memory and we just want to help you." Rachel said, tears started to fall. "Just give us a chance!" She removed her hand from Sasha's mouth to wipe her tears.
Sasha saw this young woman looking so...sad. But her eyes traveled to Rook, Wildmutt, and Ghostfreak. She cringed in fear. "I don't want to be hear!" Sasha whimpered. "I hate this terrible place! I just want to be alone!" She started to cry.
The four friends were at a loss. "What do we do?! We can't just leave her like this!" said Ghostfreak. "Whampire and Frankenstrike are halfway across the galaxy on a mission!"
"Perhaps I can help." said a deep voice.
Rachel and her friends gasped as they spun around and saw a familiar face phase through the wall.
"J'onn!" Rachel felt her hope return seeing the Martian Manhunter again. "Thank goodness you're here!"
"I was in town when I heard what happened to Sasha." J'onn walked up to the bound girl. His heart broke seeing his friend like this. Her face was soaked with tears and her clothes were filthy. Sasha opened her eyes and screamed when she saw J'onn. "No! Stay away from me!" Sasha turned away in fear of the martian.
"Is there anything you can do to help her?" Rachel begged. "Anything at all?!"
"I will try."
Sasha opened her eyes and saw the martian reaching for her with his green hands as his orange eyes glowed. "NO! DON'T TOUCH ME! NOOOOOO!" Her pleas were ignored as the martian used his psychic powers on her.
J'onn waa traveling through Sasha's mind. He had to locate Sasha to regain her memories. As he flew deeper into her subconscious, J'onn saw images of what should be Sasha's memories, but they were all fuzzy screens, almost like a television with bad reception. J'onn deduced that it Sasha's memory was returning, but it was being suppressed.
Finally, J'onn found what he was looking for. A huge metal box that was bound with heavy chains and locks. J'onn easily managed to break the locks and brake open the chamber. There, curled up in a scared, shivering ball, was Sasha.
J'onn got down on his knees to help the girl. "Sasha,"
"Go away!" Sasha curled up tighter. "Please just go away!"
"I know you're very afraid. You lost your memory and you're too scared to learn about it. That's why all you try to do is run away and refrain from all these aliens that scare you."
Sasha was silent.
"But you must understand that you have a wonderful life full of family and friends amongst humans, aliens, and all manner of creatures. You were able to fill the void that you lost many years ago when your parents died."
Sasha lifted her head up. She looked back at the martian. This time, there was no fear in her eyes.
J'onn offered her his hand. "Let's go. Everyone is waiting for you to come home, the real you."
With a smile and an open mind, Sasha took J'onn's hand. Together, they stepped out of the metal prison. The moment Sasha walked out, the screens came on and all of her memories came flooding back in. As her memory returned, a bright light shined and everything went bright.
Sasha opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was Rachel looking directly at her. "Huh?" She tried to move, but her arms and legs were clamped down. "Uh, why am being held down?"
"Sasha! Do you know who I am?!" Rachel asked desperately.
"Uh, yeah, you're my sister Rachel." Sasha answered. She tilted her head back to see the Martian Manhunter. "J'onn! What are you doing here?!" She looked down. "Rook! Wildmutt! Ghostfreak! What is going on here?!"
"SASHA!" Rachel, Ghostfreak, and Wildmutt embraced Sasha, who was finally back to normal.
"You had amnesia, Sasha." Rook explained while Wildmutt smothered Sasha with doggie kisses to clean up her tear stained face.
"I did?!"
"Yeah! You had no idea who you were or who any of us were!" Rachel said. "But thanks to J'onn, we got you back!" She kissed her sister's forehead.
"Really?! Oh, thank you, J'onn! Thank you so much!" Sasha said. J'onn smiled, happy that Sasha was back too.
Sasha struggled a little. "Um, can you guys let me go now?"
Rachel was going to, but a playful thought crossed her mind. "Well, we should. But after today, I think you need a good laugh!"
Sasha squeaked as Rook, Wildmutt and Ghostfreak giggled to themselves. "Uh, actually, you don't have to do that!" She struggled harder. "I'm fine! I don't need to be-EEEEE!"
It was too late. Wildmutt and Ghostfreak started tickling Sasha's feet while Rook tickled her sides and Rachel tickled Sasha smack dab in the middle of her stomach. Sasha instantly broke out in ticklish laughter.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! GUYS! S-STOP TICKLING! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Nope! Coochy, coochy, coo!" Rachel sang. "Tickle, tickle, tickle!"
Sasha laughed, unable to fight off the tickling. "J-J'onn! AHAHAHAHAHA! HELP! MAKE THEM STOP! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
J'onn considered this. But he noticed that as Sasha laughed, her fear and despair was vanishing. Sasha saw the martian reaching out to help her. But the alien smiled to himself as he tickled her armpits.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NOT YOU TOOHOOHOOHOOHOO!" Sasha shouted. She mentally scolded herself for not seeing that coming. Everyone gave Sasha a good tickling in her tickle spots for a few minutes before they finally stopped.
Sasha's cheeks were rosy as she panted for breath. Rachel freed her sister, but Sasha was too tired to move. Wildmutt tugged on her hospital gown with his teeth. J'onn picked up Sasha's limp body. "Sasha just needs to rest now." He felt Sasha nuzzle into his strong chest, he smiled when he saw her smile.
J'onn carried Sasha all the way to her room. He tucked Sasha into bed.
"J'onn," Sasha said in a soft voice. "Thank you. Thank you for helping me get my life back."
"You only got it back because you wanted it back." J'onn corrected. "I only reminded you how valuable your memories are and how they shape your life. Now, get some rest."
"But I'm not..." Sasha let out a yawn. "tired." She rubbed her droopy eyes.
J'onn chuckled. "You can't fool me, Sasha." He put his hands on Sasha's head and used his powers to lull Sasha to sleep. Sasha sunk into her blanket as she closed her eyes. J'onn quietly left the room and closed the door. He turned and saw Rachel, who gave him a big hug.
Sensing her gratitude, J'onn returned the hug. "I'm glad Sasha's back too."
"Yeah," Rachel sighed with relief. "if you want, J'onn, you can stay for dinner. I'm making meatloaf."
Grinning, J'onn accepted Rachel's offer and walked with her to the kitchen. Everyone in the Grant Mansion can rest easy knowing that Sasha, their blessed and beloved friend, was back to her normal self.
