3Hello fellow readers, I'm new to the Devil may cry fandom but I can honestly say that I absolutely love these games, not only that but the stories that I find on this site. So I hope you enjoy what your about to read and I hope that I somewhat capture the essence of the characters.

Are you sure this is the right way?" the devil clad in red asked.
"For the last time Dante, yes," the blue clad devil responded with an annoyed sigh.
"How can you be so sure though?" he asked annoying the older twin more and more.
"Because Dante between the two of us I spent more time down here!"
"That may be true Vergil but from what you've told me you were being tortured and brainwashed so I have to ask, from the bottom of my heart" he stopped raising his hands in the air and shaking them comically, "How the hell can you be sure!"
Vergil turned to face his brother, "Cause I am!"
"Alright jeeze, sorry that I'm concerned about where we are," he gestures to their surrounding area, "Everything looks the damn same."
"Be that as it may we are going the right way," Vergil turned to face him patting him on the shoulder, "Trust me."
"Kind of hard to trust someone who been fighting me since we could walk," Dante laughed.
Vergil smirked, "The way I remember it you started most of those incidents."
"Ended most of them too," Dante said smugly.
"You did not," Vergil scoffed, "Once again when we get to the surface, I'm going to have to teach you how to count."
"Speaking of numbers," Dante pointed out, "How long do you think we've been down here for?"
"Hard to say really," Vergil stopped and ponder, "Time is a strange construct down here."
"I'll say," Dante agreed with him.
The two of them continue the walk in silence, taking in the "scenery". Like his brother said time is strange down here, honestly to him it felt like years since they were reunited. 'Maybe it has been,' he wondered to himself. But he couldn't find it within himself to care, after all he got his brother back, sure the circumstances could have been better, like way better but given the way life has been for the both of them, he'll take what he can get.
"Hey Vergil-,"
"Dante stop!"
Dante stopped suddenly, foot still half way up, looking up towards his brother, "What?"
Vergil moved before him, kneeling down he took the plant that was about to meet its end by Dante's boot. "This is it," he said as he stood up, looking at his brother, "This is what we've been looking for."
"Okay, but what the hell is it?"
"It's the final ingredient for the spell we need."
"Finally," he stated with relief, "I can go for some pizza," Dante said while patting his stomach.
"Surprisingly so can I," Vergil said with a smirk.
"Never figured you'd eat that stuff," Dante said with a grin.
"I do, but unlike you not for every meal," Vergil said in disgust.
Dante threw his hands up in defeat, "Whatever you say bro," looking around finally ready to get out of here, he turned back to Vergil, "So what do we need to go?"
"For one a clearing," he looked behind him raising his hand to cover his brow, "Looks like there's one right up ahead."
"Alright," Dante said clapping, "Let's pick up the pace."
Making their way toward the clearing both of them could sense a change in the area surrounding them, "We should make this quick bro," Dante stated, "How long does it take?"
Vergil looked around him feeling the very energy of the place surge, "Not long, maybe five minutes at most."
Dante readied Ebony & Ivory, "Better make it quick then."
Vergil kneeled down with the rest of the ingredients and got to work mixing them as best he could without a bowl.
Dante looked around him keeping an eye out, he could see Vergil looking up now and again doing the same thing, this could be their one shot out of here. "So, what exactly does this spell do?"
Vergil looked up while still mixing, "As you know the reason why we didn't use the Yamato, is because opening a portal down here would be too unpredictable, we could end up anywhere in the world."
"Wouldn't have been too bad."
"You say that until we're at the bottom of the ocean or in a volcano," he smirked.
Dante nodded, "Good point," looking around more he was starting to feel uneasy, "So how will this help?"
Vergil could feel the same uneasiness that Dante felt, "This is a blood locator spell," he began to explain, "Smeared on the Yamato and it should take us to where Nero is," he said that last part quietly. Despite the time they've been down here he was still coming to terms with the knowledge that he has a child.
"Sound logic and all bro, and I hate to sound so gloomy, that's usually your job," he joked, "But wouldn't the fact that I'm here and it's a blood spell mean it could back fire and just open up where I am?"
"That's why for once Dante," Vergil sliced his hand with his blade, "We will be using my blood."
Vergil looked down at the contents, "Its done."
As soon as the words passed his lips the sound of a screeching filled the air. "Just our luck Vergil," Dante said aiming his pistols, "Of course these demons would show up once we were about to leave."
"So, it would seem," Vergil stated standing up. "Looks like they came to give us a proper send off Dante," he stated reading Yamato.
"What do you say Vergil?" Dante looked to him, "Final round winner takes all?"
"So be it brother," Vergil smirked at the challenge.
"Loser buys the first round of pizza," Dante stated.
"Like you can afford it?" Vergil jabbed at him.
They could see the first wave of demons heading towards them, "That hurts, bro."
"Doesn't mean it's not true," Vergil smirks as he unsheathed Yamato.
Dante smirks, "Ready!" he shouts aiming.
"Set!" Vergil readied his blade.
The hoard of demons was now within range of them, both the brothers smiling as happy as can be.
"Let's rock!"
So, what do you guys think? Like I said I'm new to this whole fandom so I hope I got this right so far concerning the characters. So, this story is just going to be a collection of shorts that all intertwine in a larger over all story or at least that's what I'm going for. Everyone is going to make an appearance at some point in the story, so sit tight and I hope you guys will work with me. I also hope to get good feed back from you guys as to how the story is going. Not going to lie this is the first time I publish something in a long time so I hope I'm not too rusty in that regard.
